Stop Canada..... from blocking cartoons !!!
Geeze can't you get any American stations ?? You all seem to know a lot about FOX programing. You should be able to find a decent cartoon network from the good ol US of A.
I would not put up with that !!
Maybe a new cause for you all.......Give me liberty....Give me my cartoons !!!!
you were talking about the "cartoon crew" weren't you. Lassie
-
I don't think the "Stop Canada" is offensive. I think it's silly and childish. And honestly, given some of the back and forth discussion in this forum about Canada, if someone wants us to stop, I figure we must be doing something right!
There are others on this thread whose posts are considerably more offensive - not just to Canadians but to all sorts of fine people - than shokk's "Stop Canada".
-
30 Rock was hilarious on Thursday night! Sorry you can't pick it up on the 'net Lassie, but it will be on re-runs. Of course, they would have been presented with a hospital bill -- but then that wouldn't have been as funny, or as satirical! (although the bill would have been about 90% less than in the U.S.!) And I enjoyed Matt Damon's performance too! The guest stars on that show are incredible -- all thanks to the brilliance of Tina Fey and the smarts of Lorne Michaels!
-
I truly am not concerned about the "Stop Canada" sig. I just wish I knew what the movie was trying to stop Canada from doing out of curiosity. I don't go to movies any longer so I have no idea what that movie was tryng to say with it's "Stop Canada". What offends me more is that certain posters have to always "tag" people as being on the "left" etc. Just because someone has a certain opinion of a political subject does not necessarily mean they are "lefties or righties". What is it with this tagging people and it is usually done as more of an insult than a compliment. Does any one here truly know what my political position is? I doubt it. So how can you be so sure of all the others you are "tagging"?
'GO AMERICA!" And get there before Canada IFwe can!
-
It is rather cute and naive to believe that you gals on the left can shame us gals on the right into compliance.....
shokk wants to stop Canada......uh oh......she is an abuser....(liberal translation.....she is hateful).........oh no she isn't as "open minded" as we are.....(liberal translation....(she is a close minded cartoon character).......she is not as intelligent as us....(liberal translation.....she is stupid).....she is using humor (humour) to be passive aggressive...... (liberal translation......she is a meany).......oops.....can't be her friend anymore.......(liberal translation.....not going to be her friend anymore)....
you girls do keep me entertained......shokk
-
Shokk - seriously - get a grip! How hard would it be just to be nice and outspoken at the same time? We are all battling this disease - so we do have a common ground. Maybe I am naive, I think you are intelligent and somewhat humerous - anyone who likes So Park can't be all bad. But I can't watch it anymore- I think because I don't have teenagers around anymore to explain ti to me - Glad you are entertained!
-
I repeat: Shokk - Please cite the "heartless and completely untrue statements concerning Conservative Politic Women here on this thread". I've looked and can't find any of those statements. Thanks
-
I caught the last of that episode, where Jack says they plan to treat their American-Canadian baby "just like a human baby." LOL!
What in tarnation are you talking about, shokk? Nobody said any of those things, but some people find your sig line offensive. Good grief.
-
Well shokk....I really don't find your tag line offensive. It was a funny bit from a show that was pretty darn funny. Some get SP humour, some don't. When my kids were younger I thought it was outrageous. Now that I don't have to 'censor' them, I find it hilarious. I see it as poking the incredibly sensitive political correctness snake to see what reaction they will get. And, as in the real world, the reactions are all over the place.
I suspect that this what you are doing too. Just poking the snake.
-
Stop shokk!!!!!!!!
-
Is this Adam and Eve poking the snake? I bet that's what really happened. Adam poked the snake and it got pissed off at Eve!
Bren

LMAO!!!!

Alpal not going to go back through the whole thread and can't go back to the previous threads that have been removed but really?......oh wait I get it.....all those heartless and completely untrue statements about Conservative Political Women are TRUE....I see......
So its ok to say that Bachmann and Palin aren't smart enough to be as powerful as they are.......right Alpal.....that is why you gals on the left are smarter then us on the right........(pig tail light bulb above my head)......I get it......jeez sorry about that........we are too stupid to decide with whom we associate with and whom we agree with.......
and all of this because conservative women are pro life.........I mean really......how smart can we be?????????.........who gives a rat's back side about some "fetus" in some woman's uterus.....
sorry Alpal.....you are right and I don't mean that as in insult......(I don't mean you are right right......just that as long as you make derogatory remarks about someone as long as you believe it to be true then that's ok).......shokk
-
Revious post is the same joke, reversed. Funny.....I find both versions offensive when analyzed in the context of this thread. Does it look different to anyone else?
-
shokk,
I think you enjoy stirring the pot. When there is no spoon to stir with, you make one up. You allege all sorts of things but never answer even the simplest direct question about your allegations. Let me ask one more. (although I don't suppose you'll answer) Do you live near or under a bridge?
Definition of trolling: Trolling is the act of purposefully antagonizing other people on the internet, generally on message boards.

Shokk - I'm truly sorry I pulled your chain. Your answer to my query makes no sense to me. Guess I must be the dumb and stupid one. Perhaps you're not aware that some of the most ardent liberals on this thread are pro life. You might want to rethink that accusation and heed the advice that for all of us, "no one speaks for me but me".
-
Shokk, why do you take criticism of Palin and Bachmann personally. They are public figures - they are not you or someone you love or a country you call your own. It is a false equivalent to justify jokes against someone's country - which is both a public and a personal item - with a public figure.......I find you far more interesting and intelligent than Palin. Surely an attack on her isn't an attack on you or on America? Otherwise, there is either unhealthy overidentification or hubris. Blue, so glad to hear your news! excuse presentation. Sent ffrom cell phone.
-
Really because I know of one......and I wouldn't really consider her to be an ardent liberal just left of center (centre).........
Alpal you didn't really pull my chain but good try.......you just remind me of a little kid that keeps asking why?....why?......why?.......except it was show me......show me........show me......
on a side note and I am being serious just wanted to say of all the posts yesterday about Egypt I think that Athena was spot on.....none of us know how any of the events in Egypt and Northern Africa are going to play out in the coming months.......
(Athena please forgive me if I put you into a difficult spot with your gal pals with me agreeing with you)....just wanted you to do know it was a great post.......and actually I really do like the Stop Shokk....may have to change my byline.......stop shok
-
floralgal: I had to laugh at Jack's line because it basically reminded me of what I said to that border patrol guy "I will not be a party to your inactions, you WILL look at my documents!" I think he was so stunned at my determination he was curious to see exactly what was in my documents. We departed as hopefully "friends" because he didn't destroy my car and we got to see some great beauty in Canada. They seem to be a very special nation of kind people.

When a little kid screams,"you did it to me first, I didn't do it to you", the obvious reply is "did what?".
-
Athena you asked a valid question....(see Alpal that is what I am talking about).......
Athena let's put it this way......I personally do really care what you gals or the ruling class media think of any Conservative women........I think of it more as a bias because what Conservative women believe and stand for.....
I would imagine that most of us on the right feel that attacks to our Conservative leadership (especially our conservative women because they have worked just as hard as the liberal women but because they believe in life they are they are lacking intellectual awareness) is how you guys feel when we criticize President Soetoro.....just find it to be a bit distasteful......and annoying.......shok

One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. When someone posts mean spirited criticisms of specific women, even if they are public figures and assumed to not be members of this forum, how can we be sure that public figure won't ever look on this board for information for herself, or for a friend or a family member at some point in the future?
Sarah "She Who Shall Not Be Named in February" Palin is really under some peoples' skin.
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." - William Shakespeare
-
Yep .. but that rose has got some thorns.
-
Mrs. Obama could certainly be diagnosed with breast cancer - yet, that doesn't stop some breast cancer support sites from having whole threads devoted to bashing her. Hmmmm....
Edited to add the words "breast cancer support"
-
Actually Alpal the thing concerning Mrs. Soetoro I don't really care for........I do find it amusing that her husband seems to go out of his way to eat all the crap he can in front of the press but I am sure that has more to do with their relationship then anything else.......
Now again you throwing in the "breast cancer support" as if women that have breast cancer can't find humor (humour) in the first Lady is again trying to use shame.......
I am sure that there are Leukemia sites that throw insults at the President and his wife.......
don't think you can control us with the shame game......shokk
-
Shokk - I was replying to Patmom's post. Maybe you didn't see her playing the shame game.
