Weather changes.. suffering from cold since 3/4 days.. I was finding very dificult  as my voice got seized .. had to take antibiotics and cough syrup. Today.. a bit okay. During a span of 51 years, I faced lot of turbulance in my life.. , leaving my hometown to provide best education to my children.... I could not do anything for anyone. But today, I feel that  after breast cancer, my life has become so meaningful and proud to be able to extend my support to one of my colleque. My colleque has successfully completed her 2nd chemo on yesterday. She came and show me her half bald hair and broke down. I could console her by showing all the topics in the forum for about an hour then she was feeling o.k. I suggest her to join the group to keep her informative.I think i have done something good for her.

You never heard of the Dave Clark 5?  I think you probably know some of these songs:  Catch Us If You Can?  Glad All over?  I Like It Like that?  "Back in the day", they were the second band to follow the Beatles out of England and on to the Ed Sullivan Show.

I am a loser.  I do not know the band or the songs.  I do know the song "I like it like that", I assume from this band.  I never watched the Ed SUllivan show either.  Are you laughing at me??

No, I am just realizing how old I am and being jealous!  I think if you looked up any of those songs on itunes or whatever, you would recognize.  Even my kids do, but maybe because that is what I played?

Yes, they were around just about the same time as the Beatles.  While dating DH and I also saw Arthur Brown, Led Zepplin, Steppenwolf, Johnny Winters, Dh saw Jimmie Hendrex Turtles, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Eric Clapton before he made it big. Those were the days.

Blondie - I am good and I am free!  That is until I start on the man pills next week.  I have seen 2/3 of the concerts you have seen as well as GooGoo's, Aerosmith and Buffet......I am a bit down on the "last tour of the old guy" concerts though.  It is sometimes like seeing someone in a casket and not wanting to remember them that way.  By the time Clapton (who I love) got warmed up, it was time to go home - same thing with Billy Joel and Elton.  That said, I hope my DH got Clapton tix for our anniversary....:)

No Linda - I'M the loser when it comes to music - I never know what the song names are or who did them.  Concerts - let's see - I saw Shaun Cassiday when I was 12.  Civic Center roof had collapsed so saw it in New Haven.  Dad took me on the train down there.  Now you know your dad loves you when he takes you to a Shaun Cassidy concert!  The only other concerts I can remember seeing are Pat Metheny at UConn and Rush.   Not much of a concert-goer I guess.  lol

Sandy - bummer that you got uninvited to see Lady Gaga.  I like her music.

Sorry the technology is giving you fits, Sandy.  I threatened to take a sledgehammer to my computer the other day.  Maybe you need to threaten yours...

Sheila - the roads will never be safe again.   But she won't be driving much at first - she's kind of a 'fraidy cat.  And we need another car so when she goes out, if she has a problem and DH is out with one car, I can go rescue her with the other.  Cha-ching.

Hope everyone is feeling well today.  :)

I am so disgusted with nursing homes.  I went to visit my Dad today to give him his clean laundry, he is lying in bed watching the boob tube with a sweater he was wearing 2 days ago and dirty pajama bottoms.  Why the hell didn't they get him to put regular slacks or jeans on.  I was liver-ed.  I also started getting irritated with my father for not participating in events that go on there instead of vegging in bed watching the GD TV and not exercising to get his strength back faster, he could be cruising up and down the hallways.  I made him get out of bed, with our help of course, and wheeled him to the dining room for a sing a long.  He was glad I brought him down cause he loves to sing and it also exercises his lungs.

I told him out flat, "If you want to go home sooner you have to get motivated instead of lying in bed, it is not going to do you any good just lying there."
