Oh....but can you stop me from beaming over? HAHA! I have two bumps on my head that will soon have antennae and with my stimulated brain, well..........
-
PIP, don't forget the carmel donuts. I tasted one last weekend! yum!
-
Blue .. are you an alien now? I really want a carmel donut. Send the mounties down with some donuts and coffee please.
Maybe Linda can use a dogsled and cut some time off her journey.

I have a better Idea. Build a plastic bubble over the U.S. That might just work!
-
Just waiting for the Niagara River to completely freeze over -- but since it never does, guess I'll just have to wait for spring thaw. Now tell me, do you Amurricans think you deserve any of our luscious Mounties, caramel donuts and Timmy's coffee? I don't think so! And with our dollar above par, you'll owe me some cents! So there! Suck it up, folks
.
-
Hey Lindasa - think you could make it all the way to Colorado with those donuts? We have ....ummmm.... Coors? .....MMJ? ....Granola?..... Chipotle?...whaddy want for a dozen of 'em?? Oh, and make sure those mounties cover up their speedos - eeewwww - I don't care who you are, LOL!

Check points on all roads and highways crossing the boarder will work wonderfully. Everyone knows that illegals always use roads. ....
How about the Republicans presenting a spending bill to fund the enforcement of existing federal laws so cities stop using sanctuary legislation to prevent themselves from going broke enforcing federal laws? Of course if we fully enforced federal law, there would be a lot of employers doing time. The federal prison budget would also have to be raised.
(Sanctuary Cities: The term generally applies to cities that do not allow municipal funds or resources to be used to enforce federal immigration laws, usually by not allowing police or municipal employees to inquire about one's immigration status.)
I would be fine with paying more for food and clothing if the outcome would be the end of all the nonsense talk about "anchor babies" and repealing the 14th Amendment.
-
Notself .. I don't know how we're going to do this unless we raise taxes.
-
Hey ladies we could use those unmanned drones that President Soetoro is so found of.......just zap anyone trying to cross the border in an unauthorized location.......
Or better yet.....why don't we let the states in the south CA, NM, AZ, and Texas and then the states in the North ND, MT, MN, WA, ID, AL, MI, NY, VT, NH and MA man the borders with say retired seniors.......they can be like the "greeters" at Walmart........
I know I could use a second income......hey and come to think of it for all you left leaning sisters that love to volunteer you could just volunteer your time and be productive........shokk

I never expect it to happen even if we had the deficit under control. There are too many vested interests in cheap, helpless labor. Being illegal keeps workers helpless.
-
I lived a long time in a (northern) border state, and IMHO it's pretty darn easy to detect a Canadian.
Besides sentences with "eh?", there are all those "ou" words that are mis-pronounced ("aboot", "oot", etc.). There's that pesky word "aluminum" into which will slip an extra syllable ("aluminium"). There's the tendency to lapse back into Her Majesty's English when spelling certain words ("colour", "tumour", "flavour", "centre", "defence"). And, there's the insistence on presenting things bilingually -- in French as well as English.
I propose that Canadians suspected of having entered the U.S. illegally be force-fed Spudnuts until they confess.
OTOH, as has been pointed out countless times in this thread, why would Canadians try to sneak into the U.S. in the first place?
otter (whose ancestors all immigrated to the U.S. between 1840 and 1890; we think some of them even came through Canada!)
-
Still prostrate on the floor with heaving bosom, having swooned at the mere thought of big, strong Mounties in red speedos bearing Tim Hortons! Oh my!
-
Oh Noooooooooooooooooo. The dreaded spudnuts!
-
Go Canada!
Dialect police might not work. People in Michigan Wisconsin and Minnesota say "eh".
Have you been on the Canadian border in the middle of February? The temperature is hovering around 10 degrees F now. Seriously seniors as greeters all along the border? A lot of them go to warmer climes in the winter. And don't forget the Great Lakes. If we brought the trops home they'd have to cover the Great Lakes too.
Did I miss a presidential election? I thought the President's name was Obama.
Somebody needs to do some research.
-
OMG .. I'm thinking about those little old ladies at walmart patrolling our border! I think we should arm them with AK-47's too. Don't worry Rosemary .. we can bundle them up real good to keep them warm.

Fanning myself and looking for my smelling salts.
The other dead give away for the Stop Canada Patrol is that the invading Canadians would be immediately spotted being far too modest and polite.
-
Mounties...speedos...mmm
-
Seeing as the GOP is proposing cutting 4500 police officers from the force, we can arm the old ladies with sling shots and frozen spudnuts.
-
That's right IronJaw .. don't forget they want to take away food from infants and mothers too!
-
The last time DP and I took a trip to Canada the border patrol guy and I had "words" because he just wanted to flag us on into Canada and I had put together all these documents to show him. I refused to allow DP to cross over "until" the guy agreed to look at all my documents "just to make me happy" as he put it. What's the good of patroling the borders if you are going to let just "anyone" in. DP was so embarrassed at my outburst but the guy was not doing his duty. He may have once been an American from the way he was acting. That's more like I would expect our people to act at the borders but this guy was supposed to be "Canadian!". I still love Canada any way!
-
Birth control too! Then there will be even more hungry children.
-
ahem but how do we know the people in Michigan, Wisconson and Minnesota who say things like"eh" are not wicked evil Canadians in disguise? Everyone knows REAL americans only say "Ya'll."
-
rosemary, you said: "People in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota say 'eh'."
Yes, but those are not native Wisconsonites, Minnesotans etc. Those are the Canadian aliens!
And, you said, "Have you been on the Canadian border in the middle of February? The temperature is hovering around 10 degrees F now. Seriously seniors as greeters all along the border? A lot of them go to warmer climes in the winter."
That's true, ... but some of them don't leave. I still have relatives who live year-round in the border state where I grew up. The temperature there hit -16˚ F last night and only got up to 10˚ F today. The high on Tuesday was 3˚ F. Still, they won't move anywhere warmer. One of my parent's siblings moved even farther north when he retired -- he lives in a town along the north shore of Lake Superior just a few miles from the Canadian border. I think their tolerance (preference?) for cold, snowy weather, along with the patriotic, law-abiding attitude of that generation, makes them ideal candidates for "greeters" (a.k.a. border militia).

I respectfully request, Shokk, that you remove the "Stop Canada" tagline. It is quite unattractive (at best).
-
Must be a lot of Canadians have snuck in over the years. Are they all sleeper agents sent here to make us more polite and caring?
Go Canada!!!!!!!!
-
I still haven't figure out what we need to 'stop Canada' from doing. It's not like they're trying to invade the U.S.
-
And all that time you guys were worried about Russia!
-
That's what you think Bren.
-
Go Canada! Mmmmmm...mounties in speedos.
-
Ya, Pinky is sitting right beside me. We got plans...........
