Wow Cathi! Is there anyway you can dispute that with the tax office?

Chrissy, I suppose we could, but I am not even going to waste my time on them over it, it is a sad thing to think that your own Child has absolutely no morals or respect for her mother and Ed for that matter,   Ed and I don't even begin thinking about taxes until March,  with the car lot it takes him awhile to get all the paper work in order etc, etc,  OH WELL,

I know kids can be selfish and really unthinking but when I read what your DD and SIL have done and are doing to you, Ed and their children, I am truly amazed at their selfcentred selfishness.  Your grandbabies are two little treasures and I greatly admire your fortitude in dealing with everthing that has and is going on.

Cathi, does that mean they get tax breaks for childcare? If you, you should absolutly challenge it. Zero tolerance for spongers, remember. You have oodles of proof that you cared for the kids so PLEASE don't let them off the hook.

Well, things went ok at the hospital. Unfortunatly, I suffered severe radiation damage, which might well be permanent. Means that i have to wait at least another year before they can consider recon. Dr said it wouldn't heal the way things are just now. At lease the pain isn't cancer, very stabby, like getting a big, sudden injection. Funny, I had no pain with the cancer but now have a diseased colon, cannot feel my fingers or feet, had a sore boob and cannot walk properly!! Quite funny - I am very ticklish and was in ters of laughter getting my good book and underarm checked, so was the Oncie and the breast care nurse. I love my care team so much girls. It's just so ironic that we get some thoughtful and wonderful treatment then have the horror of these so called Medicals! I was hoping to get all treatment dealt with so I could resume life getting back to normal.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to a fun/peaceful weekend.

    Goodnight my lovlies!

    Nettie xx

Sueps, I also had a biopsy last Monday. I was diagnosed with Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma on Thursday. My mother's sister died of untreated breast cancer in 1992 at age 38. I am currently 35. I had microcrystals only, no mass/lump. My surgeon recommended an MRI before making surgical decisions. I am scheduled for January 26th because I have to wait for my period. He says I am a good candidate for a lumpectomy and 5 weeks of radiation. He really favors breast conserving surgeries. I await my BRCA and will make further surgical decisions at that time. I am very optimistic, and, although there is a fear of the unknown, I am quite at peace where I am. My breast became more sore 6 days after my biopspy than it was even on the day 1. The surgeon explained that scar tissue is starting to form, and there may be some tugging that becomes uncomfortable. I am not giving advice, Lord knows that I am in no position for that. Just trust that God has annointed the medical team to know what treatment is best for you. I will keep you and all of us in my prayers.

Netti, glad the visit went well,  sleep tight.  And YES to your question,  they do get a tax credit for the children,  and here in the USA , Ed and I could very well have claimed them for half the year with NO QUESTIONS asked because we have had custody sinse June, I think perhaps we might have been able to do so for the entire year,  Nettie I don't think I nor Ed have that battle within us now, both so tired of all the games and behavior on DD & SIL,  I can bet that a few useless over priced toys will be bought for Landen and Ella, but thats about it as I am sure they will get a nice lump of a return,  they will someday answer to a higher power far more demanding than I.

Dear Cathi, I am sorry this has happened to you, after all the rest you have gone through.  I am thinking you made the right decision - Don't have the fight left in you and you have to pick your battles when you are going through such %^$#@*& with your own child.  Have they made up the meetings they have missed?  What are the penalties if they don't, or are there no consequenses?  Remember it will work out in the long run, and the principle that is most importent is that the children are safe.  I wonder what the social worker could do if you just happened to mention it to her,   Karen

Ah Nettie, you probably gave your team a good chuckle today that really made their day! Good luck with the ATOS thing; move to Canada if they really push you!

Cathi, what have we been telling you about tough love? How did you find out about H&R? From them? If so, what did you say. My suggestion is that you and Ed claim them as well as you have the right to and see if one of you gets audited. Guess who would win that one!

Barbe Amanda called this AM to tell me what time they would be oer this evening to pick Landen & Ella up,  I just normally asked her what she was doing  said she was taking SIL to work because they had a 9PM appointment @ H&R,  I said your doing your taxes already  - YUP and then she procedded to tell me how much they would get back by having 2 kids to claim,  I said you claimed the kids  - both of them?  YUP -  I said Ed and I had every legal right to claim them this year,  I thought we might have talked about it first -  WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MOM (she ws playing dumb)   we could have claimed the children for at least half the year -  OH GREAT MOM YOU WOULD REALLY DO THAT -  Do what Amanda  all I am saying at this point is it would have been the RIGHT THING to do  to at least discuss it with us - WELL I'M SORRY - GOTTA GO DRIVING SEE YOU LATER

Thats about it ,  Barbe I wouldn't take that chance,  with our luck Ed and I would be the ones in trouble.

    1Cathi,

Even if you guys decide not to claim, you know you can report youir DD and SIL to the IRS anonymously for falsely claiming the kids as dependants.  Perhaps some IRS tough love would be a good thing. . .

Hi a recent pic of wee Amy. She is doing really well, though was in hospital for a couple of weeks. Her respitory system is challenged (she has Golden Hars syndrome) but is thriving.

Her body weight if in a normal value thanks to high calorie/protien supplements and she is now taking some solids. She is a wee miracle and her medical teams says that the imbalance in the face will even out to be barely perceptible by the time she's 10. Some kids are dreadfully affected and their faces are in 2 'halves' She will get surgery to fashion an ear about 10 too - amazingly, she has hearing in that side. She remains the sweetest natured child imaginable (mind you, her daddy was a joy as a baby) Will post some more as she has been dressed as an elf, a witch, a snowbaby ... she loves it.

We have had terrible rain here today - We can't complain as the rest of the world is really suffering, but it means that I am unable to go out and getting cabin fever!!

Will try to get some more pics of the Amy-babe. Lilly Rose is coming on a storm too, almost walking. She wakes up smiling too. They are coming up for a week next month and I can't wait. My brother, his kids and fiancee, my darling cousin is coming too, accomadation to be spread through the family. But some get togethers are planned. Once I get this blasted medical out of the way, a holiday is needed, or a few of them!

Love and hugs, and trying to post some more pics.

Cathi, I agree with Barbe. Go ahead and claim them and the IRS will sort it out. You might have to send proof of custody when they audit, but you don't have to confront DD and SIL. Just file. My ex tried to claim the kids one year...what a joke. He was months behind in child support (which has since become decades), and hadn't had them with him more than five or six weekends the entire year. Our divorce decree didn't give him any right to claim the kids on taxes, although if he had been paying his CS and taking them every other weekend for parenting time, I would have let him take them as dependents on alternate years. Anyway, I just showed the IRS that I had full custody and he had no rights to claiming them as dependents. His tax return was "adjusted". End of story.

Oh Nettie, such precious little gifts you/family are blessed with. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Nancy - wish I had you all here behind me to do these things, but I honestly don't have the fight in me, nor does Ed I believe we are both so mentallydrained (not to mention the physical) ,  I guess I will just be one of those people we all hate  - COMPLAIN COMPLAIN  - TAKE NO ACTION.

Not having a great day today,  hurting pretty bad,  did manage to make it to Sam's Club and lunch with Ed ,  now home and @ 3:50 in PJ'S already I said to him at lunch I so wish we could just go back a few years just for a day,  when things seemed to be RIGHT, when I didn't have to go through the motions of FEELING GOOD, I just did feel good,  well better go - think I am in for a MELTDOWN CRY

Now I can send these - if you can bear it! This wee morsel has had a difficult start to life and has been in hosp for much if not most of her young life. She is a miracle and fill us all with JOY. Barbe, the babies have only "met" once as Lilly lives in England and when she has been up a-visiting, Amy has been in hosp. But they were quite facinated with each other. Born on the same day, 4 hours apart. A see a likelong bond coming, like Kerry (Lilly's mum) and Theresa (my neice). We will ALL be togethr inFebruary, Cousins and kids flying in from Brussels, Amy's gram coming up from Derby, all my family from Blackpool. Might even be more. Can't wait. Last big conglomaration was late November. Amy - the little poseur ...

Going to a new oncologist on Thurs., the one in town just wasn't knowledgeable enough.  Giving tests most drs. don't use or have no predictive value. Cathi send some of your weather up here, thisAM it was 0, unbelieveable!!!  That's a record even for W.N.Y..  How did the little ones do over the weekend, was drop off time less traumatic since they were dropped off to you and Ed? everyone stay warm.  Karen

Hey Karen good luck with the new DR, gotta do whats best for you.

We actually had a change in plans for Monday, I started feeling so bad Sunday afternoon, lots of pain,  Monday was no better,  perhaps even worse, I just could not do it,  neither DD nor SIL had classes because of the holiday SIL did work though,  contacted CW on her cell for approval for kids to spend an extra  night,  saw onco today gave me a pain patch,  feeling better, just every now and then have these awful flare ups, he says the nerve damage from the bone mets can be a ruff /hard one to manage,  and the cold dampness does not help, it rained so hard and long Monday, today is gorgeous, low 70's sunny, have doors and windows open,  picking up the kids in about an hour when Ed gets home,  talked to school Landens drop off this AM was a little better than last week, but still hard for him,  I MISS THEM,  am I crazy

sorry you are in so much pain Cathi, so glad SIL was working too.  Of course you miss them, they have been with you every single day up till recently.  It's like when I am watching over the kids and their friends while DD works, and the noise level with stereo is making the floors vibrate.  But then the friends all go home and my kids go to a sleepover - then the house is too quiet, especially if they're gone for a full day, I miss them.  Hope the weather stays warm and sunny for you, Karen

    Hi girls

Was at Doctor today, she was horrrified by ATOS and the "medical" The more people find out about these crooks,  the sooner we can kick thier arses out of our system. There is a growing movement. I am now having a good time kicking Breast Cancer Care about their silence on this issue, It is the most supported charity after MacMillan Cancer support, in the UK, but is struck dumb when contentious legislation slithers under the radar. Of course our craven tabloid press drool all over bashing the vulnerable - the qualities and the BBC have been stout opponants of it, Oh well, "medical" is on Thur, dictaphone bought and have some stiff questions prepared of the NHS rejects who have sold their soul for cash, will let you know. I am both fired up and exhaused simultanously, does that make ANY sense?

If you have not seen the wee ditty below, hope it brings a chuckle into your evening ..

    The Boob Poem

For years and years they told me, To be careful of your breasts.
Don't ever squeeze or bruise them.
    And give them monthly tests.

So I heeded all their warnings,
    And protected them by law.
    I guarded them most carefully,
And I always wore my bra.

After 30 years of gentle care,
    My doctor, Dr. Pruitt,
Said I should get a Mammogram.
    "O.K," I said, "let's do it."

Stand up here real close" she said,
(She got my boob in line),
And tell me if it hurts," she said,
"Ah yes! Right there, that's fine."

    She stepped upon a pedal,
I could not believe my eyes,
A plastic plate came slamming down,
My boob was in a vice!

My skin was stretched and mangled,
    From underneath my chin.
My poor wee boob was being squashed,
    To Swedish Pancake thin.

    Excruciating pain I felt,
    Within it's vice-like grip.
A prisoner in this vicious thing,
    My poor defenceless tit!

"Take a deep breath" she said to me,
Who does she think she's kidding?!?
My chest is mashed in her machine,
    And woozy I am getting.

"There, that's good," I heard her say,
    (The room was slowly swaying.)
"Now, let's just do the other one.
    ‘Have mercy,' I was praying.

Next time that they make me do this,
    I will request a blindfold.
I have no wish to see again,
    My knockers getting steamrolled.

If I had no problem when I came in,
    I surely have one now.
If there had been a cyst in there,
    It would have gone "ker-pow!"

This machine was created by a man,
Of this, I have no doubt.
I'd like to stick his balls in there,
And see how THEY come out.

How true .. how true ...

    Nettie xxxx
