    I don't have a scale here, so I may have to get out of bed and go to the gym to check that.  I've been pretty hopeless this week.  Worked from home today.  Just finished.

    So far: 5 days met water requirements - 5 points, 1 hour exercise - 2 points, check-in - 1 pt.  I may get a weight recorded, I may not.  So for now 8 points.

    Beep-beep!

    Only joined yesterday so not many points this week LOL!

    Weight loss - 2 lbs = 2 points

    Exercise - 1 hour = 2 points

    Friday check-in = 1 point

    Daily water = 1 point

    Extra credit: Joining E-LAB! = 1 point

    Total = 7 points

    Thanks for the motivation to do better next week!  {{hugs}}

    Here's my report for the week:  1 point for checking in!

    My start weight wasn't posted but it was 155.

    My goal weight was 125. (we can dream, right?)

    My weight in was 1 pound down at 154.  2 points

    Exercize (Gazelle, Richard Simmons, and snow shoveling)  4 points

    That makes a total of 7 points!

    This does not count any "extra credit" for taking the stairs at work (instead of the elevator, drinking V8 each morning (LOTS of veggies), and eating healthy all week.  Not sure how many extra credit points that would be.

    Even though I'm only down 1 pound, I could tell a difference in how my clothes fit this morning when I got dressed. Smile

    Checking in 1 point

    Water consumption above recommended for every day = 7 points

    Exercised 5 hrs = 10 points

    Extra credit - went to acupuncture app't = 1 point

    Didn't lose any weight, but gained 1 lb...  bummer, but used the health fair weight for my starting point. Bought my own digital scales to really track my progression downward - does that at least earn a point?

    Watched my two grandsons overnight on Wed and fed them a really healthy meal for supper and breakfast. Sent the littlest a healthy lunch and snack to school.... just hope he ate it since DD picked him up after daycare. We can only try.

    Total points  19 unless you count the scale purchase which would give the roadrunners 20.

    Patoo, If your weight was down, you get 2 points.

    And, thanks too for suggesting writing down each day on the calendar how much water we drank and the workout numbers. It was really helpful for me to be able to keep track. Days go by so fast!

    Sheila, correct me if I'm wrong - the acupuncture is an extra credit because I was taking care of myself after finishing active treatment. It would be similar to going to a massage or having a facial or doing something to promote a healthy lifestyle. Either way I'm OK with the results.

    samsue thanks for correcting patoo's weight point.

    And 1 point was added to you as extra credit.

    Please correct me if i make a mistake.

    I agree on the calendar tip!  Sometimes the week is a blur and it helps to write it down every day.  My friend gave me a calendar and some great quality vitamins for Christmas.. Just what I needed!  Maybe it's those vitamins that kept me from getting the flu (that DH, DD and DS had) this week.

    Zogo ~ Great on the water & excercise! Take it slow, it's okay, we're not running a race. Just moving a bit more here & there when we can.

    Susan ~ I think "kicking the sodas out of the house" would be great exercise, don't ya think?!? I did not have chemo, but I think a goal of walking 15 mins a day is great. Just do what you can.

    Great work, oakley!

    We can do this, Robins!!

    Just remember: moderation, moderation!  Even "bad" things are OK if limited in quantity.  Total deprivation will get you binging when you let down your guard.

    Thanks Suzette for the 2 extra points.  I'll try to increase those points for our team this next week with more exercize.  I bought some tuna today at the store for a lunch this next week and extra lettuce and tomatoes for big salads.

    bcincolorado,

    I did find eating a large salad (being careful to not add a lot of high-cal goodies to it  and using reduced-fat dressing BEFORE eating my dinner really helped to fill me up and the portions I ate were smaller as a result!  I'm trying the eat healthier, exercise more and portion control approach.  We'll see how it goes!!

    Good luck to us all in the coming week!!

    GO CRANES!!!!

    Lifestyle. Lifestyle. Lifestyle.

    Long-haul. Long-haul. Long-haul.

    Marathon. Marathon. Marathon.

    Portion-control. Portion-control. Portion-control.

    Move more. Move more. Move more.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Birdies, one and all: we can do this.

    The weight didn't add up over night & it won't disappear over-night either.

    Better choices, day-after-day-after-day.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    I want you to know that I have never, once previously lost two pounds in a week. In fact, my average is just barely over one pound per month..... but stacking up those monthly losses, month after month after month, has me down 14.4 pounds in just under a year.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Having the accountability of ELAB and the documenting, makes me realize that 14.4 pounds in a year's time is something to celebrate. So yesterday when we were out and I spotted some black and white polka-dot bath towels, I treated myself. I rewarded my efforts with a token of joy that doesn't have anything to do with eating. I didn't need bath towels and they weren't on the list -- I just knew that it was time to reward myself.

    Seeing those towels hanging there this morning was truly rewarding.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Be kind to yourself.

    There's a learning curve.

    We gotta think long-haul.

    Hope everyone has an upbeat weekend!!!!

    A lot of the weight I lost was probably water weight.  Let's hope I keep it off.

    Faithie, you are such an inspiration.  You deserve those polka dot towels.   I think you need an extra point for taking the steps you needed to one year ago that has kept you with us this year and in the future.  Bless you for your efforts to inspire so many women with your words.  They mean so much to us.

    faithandfifty,

    Enjoy those polka-dot towels!!! You've earned them.

    And... you are so right!  There are ways to celebrate that don't involve food.

    In my family, for as long as I can remember, food is a huge part in how we have always celebrated, well, everything!!  Need to work on a different reward system!

    The longest journey begins with just one step!  That step is different for everyone but, here's hoping that everyone takes that one step and we all have a really good week!

    Same here, food was a part of "celebrations" in my house growing up.  I tried hard to make different rewards for my kids, like seeing their favorite movie or having a special day together.  Food is something we need, it should not be our life.

    ooh did I make a tasty low-cal treat yesterday.  Scrounging through the cupboards and found some jello.  (I ate a lot of jello during chemo.)  Made the 'magic mousse' recipe but with a light & fit yogurt instead of the cool whip.  YUMMY.  The jello was the kind with sugar so 4 servings at 80 calories each = 320 calories and the yogurt was 80 calories, so the whole bowl was only 400 calories.  Sugar-free jello would be fewer calories but I used what was on-hand. (Strawberry jello with a strawberry-banana yogurt.  Next time I'll do peach).  Reading the ingredients, jello isn't the healthiest food in the world but as a temporary crutch as I regain good eating habits, it'll do.

    Jell-O Magic Mousse

    1.5 c. boiling water / 1 pkg jello (3 oz) / 1 tub cool whip (8 oz)... I used a 6-oz yogurt

    Add boiling water to gelatin mix in large bowl, stir 2 min until completely dissolved.  WHISK in cool whip (yogurt) until blended.  Refrigerate 8 hours or until firm.
