Meece, I'd gladly join Suzette's team (cranes) if I can do that without disclosing my weight. Seaside and I could take virtual walks together. :-) But I'd be happy in the general flock, too.
-
Let me go ahead and put ou on her team, and we will not disclose your weight. You just need to let her know if you maintain or lose each week. I want to build up the cranes. Okay with you, Suz?

I hope I'm not a drag on the Roadrunners this week - no exercise to speak of. Lots of water and juice, but eating whatever makes my throat feel better. Thankfully, sugar makes me cough more, so avoiding that! I'll get to the gym just to weigh in, since by evening I'm coughing more. Bummer. I was so looking forward to getting this off to a good start.
BTW - Roadrunners was the name of my middle school cross-country track team (censored) years ago. Many, many, many years and pounds ago! Debbie - hope your opportunity comes through.

Hey, badger! I like your idea of a yearly goal for walking. I don't know if it is more motivating than a weekly goal, but it does make me wonder how many miles I put in last year. I probably did average 10/mi. a week in the Summer, but that gets cut way back in the Winter.
That brings up a question...those of you who mainly walk or run outside, what are you doing in the cold months? Treadmill? Mall walking? Something else?
-
Faithie, are you humming because you are so excited about something, and can't wait to tell us?
-
elimar, I walk on an indoor track at a local school. 7 times around in lane #5 is a mile. It's boring but warm and no ice. It's also where we do Relay for Life, so every night I walk a Survivors lap.
-
faithie, you will have us all doing our Friday check-in just to find out what your good news is! Will you be able to spill the beans by tomorrow?
-
Hi badger...nice to see you here.
-
Hi Sheila, thanks :-) I had figs for a snack today, real figs not Newtons. good night!
-
badger,
HOPE you are on our team!! The cranes are a bit of a small team but, we WILL be a team to watch!!!
Tell ya what, you get those Adidas on and I'll work with my Saucony's (although looking to replace those) and lets just DO IT (oopppss , that's NIKE)!!!
elimar,
We have an old railroad track here that they have paved over into a walking trail that I normally walked (when I regularly walked) during the warmer months. It is really great because it isn't really hilly!
Once the weather turned cold, I now am on my treadmill. Not nearly as scenic but definitely WARMER!
bookart,
Hope you feel better soon!
faithandfifty,
You've peaked my curiosity!!! Can't wait to hear your news!
-
Remember check in is anytime on Friday that is convenient.
-
How are we supposed to check in Meece? Do we just write everything here? Do we PM our Team Leader? Sorry if you mentioned it before...
-
Oh and Good Morning everyone!
-
Good Morning, Birdies! Here's my check in: weight is 217 pounds, down 1 pound! Yeah for me!!!
Drinking: (perhaps I should label this differently?
) I met my goal of 500 mL per day on 3 days, but this doesn't count because our water goal is 32 ounces, which is just about 1000 mL. Exercise: 15 minutes of exercise on 3 days of the week (my personal goal met!) total of 45 minutes
Extra Credit: I have a personal goal of 2 servings of fruts/veggies at least 4 days a week. This past week I had the 2 servings on 3 days of the week. Almost, but not quite.
If I understand the scoring correctly (which may or may not be true) I earned the Roadrunners
2 points for losing weight, 1.5 points for exercise, 0 points for water intake,1 point for checking in, and possibly 1 extra credit point for my personal eating goal met for a total of 4.5 points (maybe 5.5, depending on Meece's decision about the extra credit point).
I may not have racked up a lot of points for the team but I have a much more positive view of my goals and behaviors, and have made better food choices this last week. This is GREAT for me and worth more points than can possibly be given!!!!
-
All that humming last night on my part was to motivate the HUMMINGbirds.
I guess it was too esoteric. LOL.
Drumroll please............................................
BRAND NEW LOWEST ELAB WEIGHT EVER EVER EVER: 138.2 (2 points for dropping)
Checking in on a Friday (1 point)
Exercise: 8 hours** all three aerobics classes & treadmill time!!!! (16 points)
Water: 5 days of reaching goal (5 points)
Extra credit point: Removing & pitching the skin from a roitisseried chicken (my very favorite part of the grocery store chicken-in-a-box meal) (1 point)
Having a project on the horizon: PRICELESS!!!!!!
********My big news is that my passport arrived in the mail this week and yesterday I received the email that we are moving forward on the process of 'needing' the passpot. Too early to share much -- but it involves a professional invitation to EUROPE!!!!!! (this spring, as in 3 months from now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Edited to TOTAL my points: 25 points
-
Good morning all! Checking in: (using NM example)
liquid consumption - 24 oz water daily - up from 12 oz per day
exercise - 60 minute total (definately more than normal)
extra credit(?) - stopped eating pop tarts for breakfast and now eating oatmeal - thank you for the suggestion! eating veggies instead of cookies (ok had 4 girl scout cookies and a couple of hershey kisses with almonds)
wieght 124.5 down 3 (I'm positive it'll fluctuate and my scale is probably lying to me)
Great job NM and thanks Meece for the great motivation!
Trish

GO GO ROBINS!!! Sorry I couldn't give ya more points...
-
Oakley and everyone, write everything here to check in.
-
Congratulations, Faithie. My passport arrived this week, too. Just one day before I found out we won't be needing them. Can I fit into one of your bags? Europe sounds fun!
-
Wow, prayrv! Great results!
As ref, I am going to say that our extra credit point can be increased as different extra credit items should received recognition.
Also, if you are meeting YOUR water intake goal (Like NM), perhaps you should receive 1/2 pt.? Let me know what you think leaders!
-
Leaders, if you have a question on scoring something, let me know and we'll hammer it out.
-
Friday to Friday is 6 days, right?
-
No, you report last Friday through Thursday, weigh in on Friday and report that weight. Does that make sense, Deb? I always wonder if I make myself understood, just because I know what I am talking about, doesn't mean others do.
-
Checking in Friday 1 point
1.5L water daily 7 points
PT exercise 2.5 hrs 5 points
Weight
I'm not on the gaining team so no points for the 1.4 lbs I gained. I did my research on healthy skin healing foods for my failed skin graft that needs all the help it can get. Guess I got carried away by focusing on food, not quantity. As I start to feel better from the surgery, I'm sure my numbers for exercise and wt loss will get better. Hang in there with me Robins.....The year is still young! Total 13 pts
-
Don't be too hard on yourself, zogo. You are doing good on finding out what will help you heal. Besides protein, I have heard that pineapple juice is good for healing has anyone else heard this? (I didn't Google it, it was my grandma's cure.)
-
