That looks like what we call a Christmas Cactus.  In order for it to bloom at Christmastime, you must keep it in a dark cool place without watering it for about a month.  I think you do this in September, but am not certain.  A dark closet is supposed to be good for them.

I don't usually talk to my plants unless it is to say "I'm sorry"  if I prune it too much.

Raj, do what Meece does and bang your pot on the floor! It makes her plants bloom. We think they're afraid of her! hehehehehheheehe

I keep my Christmas cactus out all year and it blooms when it wants. Probably about a month after I've forgotten to water it! hehehehehehehe

They do like to be deprived of water.  And, yes, bang their pot on the floor.  Let 'em know who's boss!

A Serenade for New Year's Eve

The old year departed, how swiftly it flew,
‘Tis gone, and with rapture we welcome the new,
I trust a bright morning will dawn on your eyes,
And sun beams unclouded illumine the skies.
Then wake from your slumber, our serenade hear,
I wish you a happy, a happy New Year

I am so incredible behind on reading posts I may never catch up and my 201 WPM typing skill have dropped by at least half making typing frustrating to say the least.

I miss you guys so much but know Meece and Joni and a few others have let you know all is doing well.

Spent alot of time in the hopsital with transfusions of blood and plattlets. It appears my bone marrow is back to making it's own platlets so we should be able to start chemo up again on Monday!. I did make it home on Christmas, and New Years Eve. DH and kids have picked up the pieces around here.

I can't wait to get back to Church. Doc. has my house bound till Spinal Tap heals well. Don't need to get sick with low white blood cells and a hole in my back.

I've had my ups and downs with our Lord, but when push comes to shove he's always there with a " REALLY LISA!  I'm driving here, have faith!" and then he gives me HOPE.

Here's to each of you all having the same HOPE in 2011

New text says " 2-3 working days now before they send my drs results.  Hoping I am just being stupid."  I texted back that she wasn't stupid,  it's just our life experiences have made us wary!

    Oh My!!!  (((MEECE)))

Dear Lord, please keep our precious Meece in your hands.  Let these tests just be a precaution.  Please Lord, keep her healthy and cancer free.  Please give her strength and courage and let her know that you are there, holding her up as she awaits news of the results  Lord, please hold all of us up because she is a precious, dear person to us and we want her to remain healthy and as we each go through our own journeys with the dreaded disease.  Amen!

Thank you ladies so much.  I thought I could be strong now that I am armed with more information, but I still can't even talk about today without crying.  I watched the images as the tech took them, and when she left the room to confer with the rad. they were still on the screen and I looked.  There is definitely something that they are looking at, but I am hoping that the surgical clip has been encased by a cyst.  Perhaps that is why they needed the mammo, because US doesn't pick up on the clips well.  The mammo tech said that it isn't easy to get the tissue flat enough because my breasts are very dense.  I pray that they were able to get the views they needed and that all fears will be put to rest in a few days.  What should have been a 30 minute in and out turned out to be a two hour ordeal with at least 3 "sit here until I get back from talking with our radiologist" sessions.  Didn't they put it on my chart that I don't do "waiting" well?
