Meece - I liked my surgeon and the hospital.  Just no support for long term problems.  Matt has the base, something I didn't have.  As far as medicine, the Japanese are right there with America.  My doctor thought it best that I return to the States as there are some things the Japanese government doesn't even offer for cancer due to the cost.  Many of the Japanese specialist do their intern and residency in California or Hawaii so they do pretty good with their English.  Also, when our military family had to have their baby at the Japanese NICU, the military had bilingual translators.

For flights, check orbitz.  Also, check China airlines.  They fly from CA to Taiwan and then to Oki.  Sometimes quicker and cheaper.  If you fly after the first week of January it is waaaaaaaay cheaper.  The Japanese and Chinese have their new year that week and everything is outrageously expensive!!

Randy will be in Okinawa on January 25 until Feb 4.  I will not be making the trip, but I know he is really looking forward to seeing Matt.

LOVE the plaque you posted!!!  Tonight I am going with a lady from our daughter's church.  She works for someone whose daughter had a mastectomy yesterday.  I am going to hopefully be an encouragement and to give to someone else the compassion that the Lord sent my way just 1 year ago on Dec. 11.  Pray for me if you see this in the next hour or two!

I will definitely start my prayers.  Matt will be so excited to know Randy will be visiting. I have no timeline for the procedure if it is to be done in Japan.  In HA it would have been Jan 19th or later.

May you have a wonderful visit and be a blessing to that BC Survivor.

RaJ , i feel the same wya. will be praying for both you, Meece, and Matt. i just ask that you find a way to be with your boy while he's going thru all this. he needs his mom with him, and she needs to be with him im just really amzes the Red Cross doesn't recognize your relationship; since, no wife, then mother, seems to be in order.. i hope you can get there, and that he gets good care. we all KNOW God's in charge: but we'd like to know what He's doing, alot of the time   lol..will continue to hold you up in prayer, till something breaks.

RAJ, i know you had a virus. am glad you're feeling better...         3jays

I spoke with PM this afternoon.  She is such a blessing.  you should hear her laugh!  It puts a smile on my face just remembering it.  She had her first chemo Monday, and if I got this right, she will have another this coming Monday.  She will be off during Christmas week.  It seems to be on a 21 day cycle.  (Correct me if I got it wrong PM)  The chemo center does not have Wi-Fi so she opens different threads at home in different tabs and reads up while at chemo, although she said she slept through most of it.

He dear husband decorated the house for Christmes while she was out "shopping" with her mother and daughters on Saturday.  What an angel!

Please continue to pray for her children as they go through the ups and downs of their emotions.  She wants everyone to know she's still checking in on us although she might not post much.

Thank you for the update on PM.  Have been praying!

My visit with my new friend went very well.  She said that she doesn't want chemo because she hasn't read anything that showed chemo worked.  I told her that I know a lot of ladies that are still living today who had chemo.  I directed her to this site, which REALLY helped me during a very difficult time!  I told her there are people who post about all natural also, so that whatever she decides would be supported.  She is ER/PR + and HER2-,  no nodes involved.  Please continue to pray.

I was visiting my friend who has a brain tumor.  She requested that we sing this song for her.  The words are wonderful

    I Am Blessed -

Each day that I live, He gives more than I need
And I could never describe His goodness to me
If you ask how I make day after day
There is only one thing I can say

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

All that I need I find at His feet
When I'm hungry, He feeds me with manna so sweet
When my soul is weary, He sends peace and rest
And all I can say is I'm blessed

Now I've had my share of sunshine and rain
Days filled with laughter and nights filled with pain
But with every mile as I travel this way
The journey gets sweeter each day

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

    I'M BLESSED
So much more than I ever deserve
    I'M BLESSED
He's been faithfully keeping His word
    I'M BLESSED
I've been cleansed by the hand of the Lord
    I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed

It's been a long journey but I have been blessed
Walking with Jesus, I have no regrets
He is so good to me, and I must confess
The way has been long, but I'm blessed

That's beautiful Grace. I don't know the tune and I have a tin ear, but I read it very well!

About chemo for your friend, there is some discussion that chemo isn't effective on ER+/PR+ stats. I didn't get it....I hope someone can jump in and validate or devalidate (?) what I just said.

Being TN, I had chemo because it has been proven so effective on TNs.  Anyone else?

That's what I mean Meece, you were ER-/PR-. The opposite.

I know. TN is typically very aggressive and fast growing and since chemo works on the fast growing cells it is deemed effective for us.

ER+/PR+ is slow growing. That's why our recurrence will happen five years and later after diagnosis.

That makes sense if you take Tamoxifen for the five years and then stop. Then you get the recurrence you were going to get anyway! But there is no chemo recommended normally, correct?

I hope you are right JO-5,  I had a scare and it still is in the back of my mind even thought my onc said don't worry, your other TM's are in the normal range.  I have to wait until March 4th to have them re taken along with a few liver function tests.

you ladies always get me thinking.. altho i had ER+ i think PR+ not sure bout that.. i was her2nue. that made it a much more aggressive (and believe me) aggressive growing cancer. it doubled in size while they were doing tests! scared the dickens outta me. guess thats' why they told me i needed to do chemo, and surgery, poste haste. i was anxious for surgery, from the get go.. chemo, not so much. AC very nearly killed me, literally.but i was luckier than SV and others, we're all here talking about it, so i count myself lucky...       3jays

I am literally winging thru heaven at this very moment.

Airplane in the dark of night after a glorious day in our Creator's best work.

    Breath-taking.

    Glorious.

    Awe-some & Amazing.

I'm still too euphoric to sleep on the plane.

Sending prayers down to each of you as we cross the country.

Will toss some up to Canada and beyond while I'm at it.

Thank goodness to think of our Lisa/PM in laughter with you Meecie.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Makes me smile ear-to-ear to read that report.

I have a pic of Zion on page 47 when discussing where I'd like to have a get together.  Very beautiful.

    We're marching to Zion

    1. Come, we that love the Lord,
    and let our joys be known;
join in a song with sweet accord,
join in a song with sweet accord
    and thus surround the throne,
    and thus surround the throne.
    Refrain:
    We're marching to Zion,
    beautiful, beautiful Zion;
    we're marching upward to Zion,
    the beautiful city of God.

    2. Let those refuse to sing
    who never knew our God;
but children of the heavenly King,
but children of the heavenly King
    may speak their joys abroad,
    may speak their joys abroad.
    (Refrain)

    3. The hill of Zion yields
    a thousand sacred sweets
before we reach the heavenly fields,
before we reach the heavenly fields,
    or walk the golden streets,
    or walk the golden streets.
    (Refrain)

    4. Then let our songs abound,
    and every tear be dry;
    we're marching through Emmanuel's ground,
    we're marching through Emmanuel's ground,
    to fairer worlds on high,
    to fairer worlds on high.
    (Refrain)

We have reached stagnation when our exercises  is caution. So we must  press ahead  despite  the pounding fear in our head that says, " Turn Back".

Our destiny says to us,"come to the edge"

    We say, It,s too high".

    "Come to the edge",

We say, " I might fall"."Come to the edge", Destiny says.

    And we stepped out.

And it pushed us and we flew.
