I went outside and worked up a sweat.  The sun was shining, but within about two hours the clouds came back and I retreated to the house.

Hi, Ladies, Cold and Snowey from Buffalo NY. Snowed in today, I had to work a double yesterday due to call ins, so now I can write out my cards and decorate the house.  This is a child's dream and a adults nightmare.  Keep warm, Betty

Betty, I saw on the weather channel!  How much snow did you get?  Mid Michigan has finally made it out of the 20s, we're at a "balmy" 30 degrees.  I think I need to go visit Rae in NZ for a few months.

We had heavy rain at about 2am but it is fine and warm with some clouds passing over.  Christmas break up today for the group of music teachers I am voluntary secretary for.  Devonshire tea and strawberries and cream - very English - will be nice!

Suzette - there's always a spare bed here for any BCO friends who make it over to NZ!

The SW suburbs of Minneapolis got 10 inches of snow last night.  It's 21 degrees right now, and windy.  No playing outside here.

Cold and sleeting all day today.  Was warm enough to melt off during the day, but things are icing over now.  Glad I don't have to go anywhere tonight!

I spent the day outdoors pruning and decorating the house for the holidays.  I was in jeans and a tee shirt.  At times I was actually hot.  rain may be coming our way tomorrow.

Fine and wam with a slight breeze here today. Have been waiting for a still day to spray the weeds so was out early before the breeze came up but it was ok anyway.  Tennis tomorrow and it should be fine - played in light drizzle and high humidity last week so a fine clear day will be nice.

Went Xmas shopping with DD today and my VISA took a thrashing.  All done though except DH (he is always hard to buy for) and Mum and MIL who both get food parcels of special things they like and don't usually buy for themselves.  Big day and I am pooped now!

The rain finally came about 6:15 tonight.  We have had quite the wind along with it, thus my rain guage isn't actually accurate since the rain blew right over it.  It has guaged over 15/100 so far in the last two and a half hours.

Saturday we had our first snow shower of the season, it is early for my area. The temps were hovering around 35 and it was literally snowing snowballs. Yesterday only got into the 40's, this morning temps in the low 20's and another chance of snow showers, but this time it might stick longer than 30 minutes. The ski resorts farther up the mountain are loving this cold weather.

We ended up with over 20/100 lats night.  I give it about another .05 while the gauge wasn't picking it up because it rained pretty hard at that time.

Snowin' and blowin'--most of the schools closed for the day, except the one I work for.  I'm still not going in, driving in this is nuts!

We've had snow all weekend but not enough to accumulate too much.  Expecting two snowstorms later this week.  I'm with you NM, not much for driving in the snow.  We are not expected to be out of the teens and twenties for the forseeable future.  I'm freezing!  Maybe I'll shiver some blubber away????

We are due to have weather in the 60s through the week.  Rain may come through midweek.  I like the rain during the day when I can enjoy watching it from indoors.  Our storms come through at night most of the time it seems.

I'll have to do visualization and when my teeth are chattering (as they are now) I will imagine myself with Meece and Rae, basking in warmth!  On a bright note, DH and I are traveling to the Dominican Republic in January so I will get a nice break from this cold weather!

I went to Puerta Plata in the early 80s.  Great snorkeling.  Hope you have a lot of fun. Then you will be basking and we will wait for the fog to lift to see you.

79 yesterday - was very hot playing tennis but there was a breeze so at least the air was sort of fresh. A bit cooler Wednesday then back to late 70s for the rest of the week.

Oh man - that is cold weather suzwes. Always lovely to holiday somewhere warm when it is winter though - I'm sure you will have a great time.

Went to a Christmas party last night and at 5:30 the temp was 25, when I came home at 9:00 it was 22, this morning at 6:00 am, it is 18. They just said that these cold temps are more like what is expected for late Jan and early Feb. Glad I got plenty of K-1 heating oil delivered last month, hope it lasts through the winter.

BRRRRRRR.  It was 9 degrees when I left home at 7:30 this morning.  We are up to a balmy 28 and waiting for a couple of snowstorms to hit - one tonight and one on the weekend : D

Glad you have your heating oil Sheila.  We are so fortunate that we put in a Geothermal heating/cooling system when we build our house way out in the country (10 acres) and we don't need gas, propane or oil - just electricity.

Those of you in temps above 60, enjoy.  The rest of us, stay warm!!

Oh my, Suz.  I can't imagine dealing with those temps!  Although, when DS was living in Idaho, the temps were in the low teens and unless the wind was blowing, I didn't feel the need to zip up my jacket.

The nice thing about the western states is that the sun is usually shining and it doesn't feel as bitter - also the air is typically dryer and that really helps.  Here in Michigan, especially mid Michigan, we don't have much sun in the winter (We rank as one of the cloudiest cities in the US).  It is hard to deal with and the older I get the worse it gets.  Too bad I'm a loyal Michigander, I'd love to move someplace warm!  I'll have to settle for visiting warm placesLaughing
