Hey Girls - I wanted you to see how my fuzz is going - excuse the bug eyes, I took it myself using the bathroom mirror. It's totally out of control fuzzy - like a bad 70's perm - I look like my mother - eeek!!!
-
Hi
I haven't posted in quite some time but I do like to check in when it's time for check-ups.
I feel fine. Things seem to be going well but it's time for my PET Scan and CT Scan. PET is on Monday (tomorrow) and CT is on Friday. Our 27th wedding anniversary is right in the middle of those...
I have been reading about everyone's status this a.m. Exciting to see us moving beyond treatment (for the most part).
-
Sue ~ I think it is looking GOOD !
Sherri ~ Good luck with your tests this week, check back in and let us know how you make out. Sending up prayers.
Happy Anniversary too.
Alicia -
Alicia: Yes, there's lots of it but I can't do anything with it - it's just fuzz!!! You can rub it and it doesn't get messed up. Don't need to brush it. At least it's soft and lovely and thick. It's actually higher than the first pic shows - almost like an afro.
Don't forget to start a new worldwide hug tomorrow night. Surgery is at 11am. I'm starting to freak out again.

WWH is on...pass it on..

My hair is like a weird cotton ball, I can't get it to look "styled", it is just fluffy. But, it is thick and it has a good color now...I will be glad when it is longer, heavier and will lay down.
A weird thing happened with Clyde this weekend. It had opened back up, was a little weepy with a black dot in it. I was just changing the band-aid and the black thing was sticking out. I pulled on it and it was a stitch. There was a damn suture still in there. No matter it has been irritated. It is already looking better, the hole is closing up.
I saved the stitch and showed the wound nurse at work, I wanted to make sure it wasn't some weird alien spore or a tracking device.
I sure hope that stitch wasn't holding something important in!
-
Melinda: LOL - you're a character. I like the idea of a tracking device
Maybe the stitch is the reason you've had this trouble - Clyde. Sometimes they don't dissolve and have to be removed.
That's exactly what mine is like a BIG cotton ball - I hate it but am still glad it grew back.
I've been washing, folding washing etc getting ready for tomorrow. I got DH important supplies like ice cream and ginger beer. I also ironed an outfit to wear. Still waiting for the phone call with the time of admission and wire insertion.

Melinda...Ewwwe. Great day. Who knew Clyde had barbs!! At least your hair has color. Mine is still white, with a little black underneath! I feel like my DH's mother!!!
Sue (((HUG))) Almost over. We're with you all the way!
Pam & Sherry...great to see you!! Happy Anniversary Sherry, and good luck with the scans. My MRI to check my liver is Wednesday. Egads!!
What a difference a year makes! Last year I was so sick, we had Thanksgiving catered, which sucked! My family can cook!! Anyhow, I got up at 6 a.m. and cooked all day!! It was great
-
I was afraid if I didn't post the eastern st. time of Sue's surgery, no one would know what time to pray the hardest!!
It's at 8:00 P.M. tonight our time, so start those hugs, prayers, and good vibes going!!!
Good job with the hair pics, Sue! I guess I've been blessed with "regular" hair. The color is more steel gray than not. It's laying down on its own, too. Alicia and Linda's pics on fb look great! Alicia, your kids are gorgeous! (well, your son is handsome!!)
So good to hear from Pam, Toyah and SherriV! I love to hear how everyone is doing!
I have my compreh. mammo scheduled for Monday, Dec. 13 and my follow up with the BS on that Friday, Dec. 17th. I plan to have someone else drive me to both so I can do drugs to get through the appts., especially the mammo itself. I plan to take mucho pain pills for that one.
Was out of town for the Thanksgiving weekend. DD came in late on Tuesday, we hit the road at 5 A.M. the next day, back home on Saturday, she left to go back to college on Sunday, though not before we had our Starbucks, and I worked today. Was a good holiday with relatives on Long Island.
Happy Monday, everyone!! 8:00 tonight!! Nette

maybe she had to stay over in the hospital?
Sending up good thoughts and prayers.
I have my Foobs redone tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 5:45 AM. Which means we have to leave my house at 4 am as it is quite a drive ! UGH ~
-
Good luck with your Foob remodling. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow...all of you! I have scans tomorrow. UGH!
-
Sue, Sue where are you?
-
Linda ~ good luck with your scans tomorrow. Hoping and praying for an all CLEAR sista !
Michele... where oh where is SUE???
ugh, I mean HUGS !
-
Calm down I just got home. Yes I did stay overnight - I wanted to wear my new pj's. Thanks for all of the hugs - I felt them!!!
She did 2 excisions as it would have had to be too big to do it in one. I'm so pleased she did that, I was hoping she would. The experts got the wires in no trouble. One using ultrasound and the other 2 with the mammo lying face down - now that was interesting. I was nearly late for surgery but she was late coming out of the previous one so it all worked out. Big onc came to see me in hospital last night and again this morning - what a sweetie. I won't see him for my last H tx next week as he's off to San Antonio for the bc conference.
I feel ok but a little wobbly. I'm glad I stayed in for the night. I've got a soft bra on and it feels fine. It's better than no bra as it stops the wounds pulling.
Good luck with your liver scan Linda - fingers crossed.
Also, good luck with your check up Nette - I'm sure you will be fine.
Love you girls!!!!
Sue
-
Sue, glad to hear you are back and doing ok...make your DH take good care of you...
Linda, good luck. HUGS to you.
-
Sue ~ so glad you are home and all went well. Get some rest ~ Keeping you in my prayers.
Hugs,
Alicia !
-
Michele - now that's funny - I just made him lunch!!!! But I'm not cooking tonight - takeaway.
-
Ok, Sue is back, glad everything went well. Do you know exactly what the treatment plan is now??
Alicia, we are sending our world wide cyber hugs, hoping you get nice new boobs and a quick recovery. Check in when you get home.
Linda, happy scan vibes coming your way, no whammies!
I have my check up with Rad Onc today. I called Surgeon's office and told them about the stitch. Nurse seemed very surprised and told me to come in if it won't close up.
