My weekends sure have been busy - it's already Tuesday and I haven't checked in.  I had no change in the weight on Friday (127), thank goodness.  I think this is my new normal.  I think I will just have to be satisfied if I don't gain any weight.  I've been getting in more exercise and trying not to eat as much and to cut back on the wine.

We can all do this, even if we fall off occasionally.  Keep your chins up fellow birdies (if I keep mine up, it makes it a single chin and not a double chinLaughing)

Very disgusted with me... I have been stress eating as I said last week and I knew I had put on some lbs.  Weighed in this week and I am up to 158 lbs this really sucks donkeys!! (yea I am from the south and that is one of my grandma's favorite sayings).  LOL!! Oh my I am not holding very well I've got to stop this krap and get on the straight and narrow.  I would have been happy to have held at 148 lbs but I'm up 10 lbs what the heck am I gonna do.  Since I came off those darn diet pills I was on all I flipping want to do is stress eat!! I only hit that 148 for one week then I was right back up.  I had been holding at about 155 until last week.  Any suggestions at all???  Fruits and Special K dont seem to help because I add potatoes, fries, beans, chicken fingers, etc to it.  "when you are poor and on a budget and have picky kids to cook for that like junk food and a husband who thinks he cant fix himself a sandwich or just eat a salad for dinner you have a problem"( not really poor just have to be on a budget like everyone else these days).  Arrgghh!Q!

Oh by the way... we had our local elections last night and for the first time in my lifetime (someone said it had been 56 yrs) the city where I live voted to go wet.  They will begin alcohol sales after the first of the year.  That's right, we have been the wettest dry county in the great state of Alabama.

    HaHaHa!!!

Don't be disgusted, mimi.  we have to refrain from what we know that we shouldn't add to our special K.

I weighed in today, after searching for a used battery for my scale.  I hade my jeans, shooes and everythign except top on, and I was 165.6.

Time to rethink.  Small portions.  No more trick or treat candy!

I lost two pounds IN MY FACE, but you know I found it on my stomach!

I am going to post in solidarity with suzwes.  I have gained about 5 lbs.!!!  My eating habits are about the same as ever (room for improvement) but I was exercising WAY more this summer than last year when I spent a lot of time immobile on the couch during my treatment.  What is different now?  Could be the Tamox. (now on it a year) or just plain old menopause.  I am getting frustrated and mad.

(Meece, I don't want you to record this next part at the top.  I could not bear to see failure, it would only set me back further.)

I never put my weight on here, because I am the type that most women say, "Oh, you're thin; you don't need to lose weight" to.  Well, I was 135, and I was for 20 years!!!  Now I am 140.  I don't like it.  I still look thin/average, but it's that stupid belly fat.  I can't stand for my jeans to cut into my waist every day, and there is no way I'm going out to buy a bigger size.  I WANT MY METABOLISM BACK. What's going on?  Is my body trying to make more boob fat, to make that breast tissue generated estrogen?  No thank you!

Oh, for those who might have wondered...I only had Cheetos two times in the last month.  For 20 years, I did not have to be very restrictive in my diet, just "aware" not to overdo it.  Now moderation is not working!   And, mimi1964, I think I can echo your grandma's sentiments about that!!

I just logged on ( I have been on vacation, and quite honestly have not come to BCO) I saw that I had put this thread in my favorites...I TOTALLY forgot about it! Boy do I need it right now.  I was sick for almost 2 weeks..and didn't eat much...then vacation...well, I think I made up for it now! Feel puffy as ever!!

I just got weighed at the doctors visit...so I will go with that...161!  I think I have only been that high when I was pregnant.  I would love to lose 30lbs, but realistically...I would take 20!! 140 would be my goal right now. Ok...I am going to start back walking/running...and eating healthy.

Faith...congrats on your new low!!! That is awesome!  I also love the idea of tips for dieting! There are some really great ideas!

Ok...well I get my lunch break soon....I was dying for something "bad"...but I think I will go with a low cal salad.

     Meece...record me....starting (disgusting) weight...161. ughh...

    Thanks!!!

    152.2 Yell

We bought a bag of Halloween candy on sale last Sunday after I told everyone & was so proud of the fact that we had not bought any - oh, well.

And, of course, I helped myself more than once. Cry

I pledge right now, tonight, at 12:45 AM, that I will lessen my intake of sugar.

This morning, not holding my camera and in my nightie only, I was at my E-Lab low 161.8!  See what just 3 days of extreme stress can do for you?  Well, to be honest, I haven't weighed since my scale's battery went out, so I was probably already losing.  Although my meals have not been regular by the clock these past few days, I haven't missed any.

Guess I need to get a fresh pedi this week so this Friday I can post a new low picture.

I will lessen my intake of sugar!  I WILL lessen my intake of sugar.

Heading over to my friend's winery today to help her with a Chilli Cook-off.  Does red wine have a lot of sugar?  I pledge to try to limit it to 2 glasses today.

Valjean...don't beat yourself up.  That Halloween candy is sooooooo tempting! I ate too much also.

Thanks for adding me Meece!  I hope my number is lower by next Friday.  Although, I didn't do so well today. I had some wonderful french fries.....mmmm.  BADBADBAD.

I did here also on Dr. Oz...that beer is better to have than wine. Less sugar. Not sure about calories though.

Tip for today:  Walk with shoulders back, and stomach in.  If nothing else...it makes us look taller and thinner. But it not only helps with posture, but strengthens the stomach muscles.

I have actually been trying to walk (in the neighborhood) holding my stomach in.  Harder than it seems.  After a block of doing it, my abdominals are feeling it.

Well E-Labbers I fell from the wagon and I cant even catch it.

Its already in the next town. I don't know how and why this happened.

I'm not even writing my numbers because its senseless to say every week oh by the way i gain 2 more pounds.

I don't want to be a bad example but right now unfortunately I fell so hard it feels like my legs are broken.

Maybe its time to visit Macy's Fitting Room and give myself a good shock.

    Sorry I failedFrown

    Hugs to everyone.

    LADIES,

I need to get back on here! I took a few months break, and well... as Dr Phil would say, how did that work for you!?! And, the honest answer is, it DIDN'T! I am up 4 lbs from this last log! Depressing but refreshing all in one as I get back in the groove with the best of ladies!

I'm on it this time, seriously, there is no way but down from here!

Love you Sheila and Meece and all you ther ladies!

I am so happy to see your kissy face avatar back!  It always makes me smile and wish I could cuddle on a a little one.   Soon...

I have been sort of watching the scale again, now that it has a battery.  (I also have a back up battery on hand).  Plumbving is still a problem, and I sort of didn't pay attention to how much chili I was eating at the cookoff.  I mean. not that much, but more than I would probably eat if I sat down for a meal of it.

I also went by my favorite cheese monger.  It has been too long, and I just need to keep my appetite in check and not eat it all at once.

I am really truly going to get going down.  I'm with you Nicole!  And everyone else here in the Lab!

Hi Nicole... Welcome Back!!!! We missed you!!!  Sheila, I am right there with you I need to be shell shocked.  I am still wearing clothing that I couldn't get in last year and they are loose, but I am sad I wanted to be smaller than I am.  I am wearing 10's and 12's and my 12's are big on me (most of them).  Mediums in most tops and I can even get in some 8's and small's depending on how they are made.  Still wish I weighed less Yell that's life I guess and I'm trying to reverse it.  Hopefully I can get motivated.  I love you ladies ya'll help get me motivated and I have a goal... my stepdaughter, her mom and mother-in-law want to do a girls trip to Las Vegas the first part of next summer and I am so there if I can save the money.  So, the weight has to go also.  No way am I going and look like a fat lump of coal.  LOL!

I have been hovering around 163 this week.  Eating about anything loose, due to stress most likely. I made an old favorite of mine last night.  Oven Fried chicken and crunchy potatoes.  I had one piece of chicken and one small potato, broccoli with nothing on it, and spinach greens with vinaigrette dressing.  It was yummy and I ate in moderation.  Also, no cookies for dessert, even thought the kids were here.  yes, they did try to coerce me into baking some, but I stood firm.

Renee and Valijean, NICE to see your pearly whites!

Seriously, I am 5'9 and 171 right now! YIKES! OUCH! With this said, I am happy with my hair :)... I don't have to share with everyone, I DIDN'T PICK THIS STYLE, it is passed shoulder length! For a girl who always had long hair, this is AWESOME!

Gotta take the good with the bad, eh!

I am size 12... don't want to think of the next size... and the majority of my closet is size 8... to get to that size, I will need to lose 30 lbs! So, rather than overwhelm myself with the thought of 30... I will have to pace myself... baby steps! So, off to lunch I go to eat left overs from last night... I purposely ate half my plate vs. the whole thing to try and do "moderate size meals!" and I passed on the candy in the candy tray!

Meece....I totally understand how you feel.  I am not nearly as tall as you..only 5'5...but I have always been a size 6...now I own 8 and 10's. I doubt I will ever be back into my 6, but to get into an 8 would be great!

I do wonder how much the tomoxifin plays in the inability to lose weight.  The hysterectomy sure has changed things too! Before that, I could at least lose a few lbs here and there...and not continue to slowly gain.  This is so tough!

Let's try and do this together ladies.

    Any new tips??

Question...hoping that one of you can help me with.  I see alot of plumbing problems here..and I have the same. Even though I eat fiber bars and whole grains. Anyhow...the last several weeks..I have experienced bloating so badly! I am bloated all day, if I eat, it's only worse. Even in the morning when I first wake up (you know how that seems to be when you feel your thinist) ...I am bloated. It's really gotten worse. I am trying to increase my water intake..hoping that will help.

    Any tips or solutions?

    Thanks!

Lisa ~ I totally agree that us taking any type of tamoxifin or, in my case, an AI, makes it even harder to lose those #'s. My Aromasin insert states it contains a "steriodal compound" & I feel that I am fighting a losing battle sometimes. It's like I lose a #, the pill says, "No you don't!" & then adds it back, sometimes two at a time! Yell

I never had a hard time losing a few pounds if I gained some. Now........it's so hard.

I wear a size 8 pant now (used to be a 6 before the bc) & size small top, sometimes a medium, depends on the maker, style & cut.

I do know the pounds I have gained since being on this AI have gone to my thighs & bootie & I do have a bit more of stomach. I always used to pride myself on the fact that I had a flat stomach, even after I had kids. Not since this little white pill has come into my life. Cry

I don't have a plumbing problem, so I can't help you there. I do pay attention to advice on that because someday I might need it myself!

Lisa, I don't really have the bloating problem, just the "I can't lose weight" problem.  I had always been slender, with that amazingly flat tummy after four kids.  During chemo I got down to 125, SKINNY.  But after chemo I started going up and just continued.  The famale side of my family for generations have always had to fight their weight, but I thought I dodged the bullet.

I take multiple doses of Fiber Choice daily.

Since marrying DH, I probably do not eat as much fresh fruit as I used to, Maybe I should get back on the fresh fruit bandwagon.  I love my vegies and can get DH to eat just about any of them.

DH is in th erestroom right now or I would be weighing in.  Last night before bed I was A bit over 162, but I have had a cup of coffee this morning.  I will be happy if I can stay about there.
