Wow Michelle, beautiful. My curls & waves are just about gone, but I've not let mine get as long as yours is! Looks fab!
-
Michelle...absolutely beautiful.
Reminds me of your first avatar when i met you here.
♥

Thank you all! I was telling DH I don't really like the avatar photo...looks to poofy to me. He just laughed and ask if I have looked in the mirror lately - I look like Horshak (?sp) from 'Welcome Back Carter' or Buckwheat from 'Little Rascals' - my hair is so out of control
(((((Lisa, Joni2 and Shelia))))
-
but it's hair!!
-
yes -hair is good!
-
so true!! Hair is nice!
-
Lost all my curls too. Boo Hoo! But my DD is actually going to give me a perm this week. Not a 1982 frizz out, just a body wave. I have baby fine hair that is super straight. But you are so right, IT"S HAIR.

Hello Everyone, It has been awhile since any posting. Thought we needed an update.Had my i year out of chemo check. All was well, had a colonoscopy. Gag. But we must keep our selves healthy and am finsihed with the reconstruction, exchange, tattoos, so upward and onward. Hope everyone is feeling just as great as I am . Looking forward to a celebration this weekend with my husband. The only problem is the weight gain and hot flashes and I am working on that. All have a great time and A great big hug for most of for being done a year Dianne

Lovely pills ! If I was a scientist I would definitely work on finding an alternative med for cancer follow-up that works on weight loss & no hot flashes as well as killing remaining cells that are no longer wanted or needed!
-
Jacee, Good luck with the surgrey. Hope all goes well. The holiday this year shoud be very stree free. I am looking forward to them. I have a new grandson. We are going to keep the holidays simple also this year. Hugs Dianne
-
Joni1 - good luck with surgery - You are almost done!!!
Joni2 -I wish you were a sceintist - I would really like an alternative that helps me lose weight and no SE's
Dianne - how awesome to have a new grandson that you can share a whole lots of firsts with...first Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...
My update - I had a thermography scan in Sept that showed some thyroid dysfunction - has US in Oct and found two nodules, one with calcification's. Biopsy last week that confirmed Thyroid cancer (papillary). I am meeting with my surgeon on Monday to discuss options. So far, based my DH & my research, it looks like surgery and replacement hormones is all I will have to do. Thank God we found it this year, my deductible next year is a killer!!!

Michelle - I saw your previous post about your thyroid diagnosis and meant to respond - but don't know which thread!! So I am glad you have let the Jedis know what is going on. Although there is not much activity on this thread, I know some of keep it in our favorites. We are all pulling for you and will be thinking of you especially on Monday when you meet with the surgeon.
-
Oh my Michelle...I had no idea!! I knew you were seeking help with the pain you were having, but didn't know about the thyroid ! I also have an enlarged thyroid with 4 nodules. One is larger than the rest. I had this all before BC. I have a biopsy on the large nodule every year and so far all is good. I've been very fortunate that it hasn't affected my thyroid levels at all. I am sooo glad to hear that it appears to be a simple fix. Gosh, so very sorry you are having to deal with this. You are just amazing to me !!! My prayers are with you...I promise!! With much love, Joni

Jedis, Sad news. Some of you know from other threads that Paulding (Lisa) had to have some scans this week due to a lump she found last weekend. It's not good-here it is in her words to me yesterday in a PM- "I have "it" in my brain, several lymph nodes and possibly my bones and liver. Right now I'm getting a blood transfusion. Tomorrow brain radiation and a bone marrow biopsy and a brand new shiny port. Next week I start chemo." I waited to post because I wanted to be sure that I had her permission. She's worried about being a "Debbie Downer". I told her we have her back!

LISA.....Well, that's not the news we wanted to hear. I know the Jedi's would never abandon our leader.! Please know that we are with you in spirit as you walk this path. It is with sadness that I will cry out to our Lord on your behalf. You are one strong lady and have been such an encourager to us all. Please come here as you feel like it and let us love on you !!
"You caused me to experience many troubles and misfortunes, but YOU will revive me again!" Psalm 71:20
Praying for you,

I am one of those who keeps this thread in my favourites, although I don't log on or post much on here any more.
Michelle I am sorry to hear about your thyroid cancer diagnosis, but glad that you have a treatment plan in place. Hope all goes well for you.
Lisa I am so sad to hear your news. Don't worry about being a "Debbie Downer" with us Jedis though, we have shared our ups and downs and want to be there for you.
You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted.
-
Lisa - I am so sorry to hear your news. Please come and post - we will stick together throughout whatever is thrown at us. We will support you, send our best wishes and will listen to whatever you have to say.
-
Michelle and Lisa, I am sending prayers and lots of them your way. i had no idea all of this was happenig. We have all grow together during this stuff and I feel that you are a great circle of friends. the jedis will keep you in our thoghts and most of all our prayers. Keep us posted to what is going on. Hugs your way Dianne
-
So sorry to hear Michelle. Beat it good! I'm sending up a prayer right now.
One thing I have learned ladies, I have always considered myself a strong woman, but I really think I let to many doctors push me around. If you don't feel good, scream, yell, bitch and moan till someone listens.
My breast cancer has metastasised to my brain, bones, lymph nodes and probably my liver. BUT there are some great drugs out there and they will be putting my name in a lottery to start a new trial drug. More info. when I learn about it. Keep your prayer and well wishes that I win the lottery! I had my first brain radiation today. It wasn't so bad but I have a bad head ache tonight. Chemo. starts on Wed. Tonight I am tired. Had port put in, biopsy of bone and radiation all done today. So I'm off to bed. Thank you all and as always.......Pink hugs, Lisa
-
Have a good night Lisa.
And I love your pink hugs and I love you my sister.

Oh Lisa - this just sucks!!!! I am so sorry you are back in the battle. Praying right now and every day and night that you WILL win the lottery and it is the perfect combination to kick this cancer to the curb.
Oh yes you have to fight to be heard. I keep asking for a scan or something to help me trust in 'their' NED dx. They kept saying not unless you are symptomatic...WTH!!! I finally asked my mom for some financial help so I could have the full body thermography done (I don't ask my mom for anything). That was how we found my thyroid cancer. My PCP said that without the scan we would not have found the cancer for 6 month to a year at which point it would grown large enough to be palpable or it would have caused difficulty swallowing. The funny thing is I have not heard one word from my onc since the thermography scan and I know she is getting copies of everything because I have faxed them. I don't know what to think of that...
-
Lisa,
This just really makes me mad!! I didn't post much but went through with all of you. How in the freaking world did they miss this and allow it to spread like this. What is the trial concotion you are trying to get into. I am going to put you on every prayer list I know. Did the doctors not listen, did you have pain, I saw you had liver scans or tests months ago and they found nothing then. What is your onc saying NOW! I am praying every second and woke thinking of you so prayer is all around you.
Michelle, I had a few scans when I was diagnosed and all clear but taht was 16 months ago and I want more. I am on the neratinib trail and all is going well but I am not sure if it is placebo or not. Feels real:) I had a scare with thryoid cancer this June, had a biopsy a etc but thankfully it was enlarged nodules. I did do loads of research and it seems easily removeable and treatable. Well I am praying for you both and all the rest that this crappy cancer never hits any of us again. Blessings and Hugs
