Sheila, you've got the goods, the actual factual numbers that are the significant ones, the ones that demonstrate that you are making good choices, INDEED!!

Birdies. I have a big smile on my face this morning, on a Friday, on an official weigh-in day, I have hit a new low!!!!!!!!!!!

    138.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meecie, you had been concerned that this might be due to my "lost quilts collection" .......... and that could not be further from the truth, as I EAT garbage in times of stress. I mindlessly chow-down on any stray carbo within arms reach under stress.

Valjean, on another thread or three I explained the most devastating of craziness' in my professional career. Long story short, my portfolio of allllllllll the quilts -- the illustrations for my new picture book -- the ones I've worked on for the last five years are now "lost" and it's been nearly two weeks. Whether they were stolen or just vaporized from outer space, we may never know.

So for the first week I gorged in all things as I sat in a stupor. Gradually I've been walking back to the light of day & better choices.

Just so you know this is not 'magical loss' on my part...... last night was a book party in my honor at a dear friend's home and she had baked enough fall goodies for an army, and I chose only the grapes from her buffet of cheese cakes and cookies and brownies and creamed spice cakes etc etc.

I've realized that it's 'easier' for me to just fore-go the yummy delicious, than to have the first bite and then just go eating like a hog, all evening, rationalizing my deserving such goodies and gnoshing all night. I have had no self-control in the past on limiting my choices at a buffet, so I went with the plan of not indulging to begin with -- as I wanted to be 'responsible' here on Friday morning, I'm saving my small indulgence for the holidays ahead and my skinny jeans feel better than any of that would have tasted.

So that's my good news. My quilt collection is still missing, but my self-control in the face of that loss has been strengthened.

If I can do this then there's hope for the rest of the team!!

    Let's continue with the list.

24.) I do squats for the two minutes of my electric toothbrush's timing. Have added that to my routine, twice a day.

I am still at 155 lb Cry Still swollen legs and bloated but no problems with constipation since coming off that crazy Medical weight loss diet.  I guess I will make a trip to the grocery store tomorrow and get some yummy grapes, apples, salad in a bag for work next week and tomatoes and tuna and begin a new!!  Working toward that wonderful goal of the size 6 I so desperately want to wear and that goal wt of 135 lbs or less that I would be happy with.  Like so many of you I get off work late and end up fixing quick things like chicken fingers, tater tots, fries, canned beans, frozen pizzas, hamburgers, etc. and we don't eat till 8 pm or later.  When you don't get home till 6:30 or 7 its hard to do anything different though.  I agree with you Sheila that my middle is a little bit too big and I definitely have a pudge that I don't want.

25.) Don't deprive yourself ... if you do well and meet your weight loss goal or inch loss goal set a day once a month that you and your significant other or special friend will go out and treat yourselves for accomplishing your goals.

Oh, Faithie, I pray you find your portfolio. How awful...

You have set a good example for us little birdies, to remember to pull back from the seed tray or just to fly right on by it to another tree!! Sealed

The loss of the portfolio is a 'gain' in another way. You have a lot of willpower. Thanks for passing it on, sister/friend.

Keep looking ahead, Renee. A new week is ahead. That's what I have to keep telling myself.

Well, Birdies, I have been extremely busy putting on a koi show.  It culminated last Sunday evening and now I get to rest until next year...right.  I hardly ate during the weekend, so much to do, and lots an lots of walking.  The most horrible thing of the weekend happened today.  I looked at pictures people had taken during the show.  One was taken of me on Sunday afternoon, after three nights of 5 hours or less sleep, being accused of something I certainly did not do, and being on my feet near the entire time from Thursday through Sunday, I had run out of energy to pull my shoulders back and suck in my tummy.  I looked awful!!!! It was imbarrassing, and hopefully none of my "enemies" took one of me in such a condition.

So since I looked at that picture, I have been holding in my tummy every time I think about it, and I am now eating a spinach salad for my lunch.  280 calories.  Guess that was motivation for me.

I will see you all here tomorrow for weigh in, no matter what.

Hi birdies!  Hope you have all had a great week.  Mine has been more than busy.  We have had our State surveyors in our community for our inspection.  It has been 5 1/2 yrs since they have been and they dug through charts and we didn't come out sqeaky clean I'm sorry to say, but it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated.  We scored an 85!!! That is better than the score was the last time they came before I was there.  Woo Hoo!!! My stress level has been through the roof and I have eaten very poorly when I've had time to eat at all.  It's been donuts and sodas when I've had time to grab a bite.  It really stinks because I had made up my mind at the beginning of the weekend that this would be a new week for me and I  would start my diet a new.  LOL!!! It didn't happen that way.  Oh well there is always next week to try again.  It's never too late.  haha!!! And praise the LORD and AMEN they are gone and won't be back "I hope" for another few yrs.  :) now all we have to do is write a plan of correction and put it in place and continue to do it till they come back, whether it's 1 yr or 5 yrs.

Love you ladies and don't know what I would do without you.  Right now I still have a high anxiety level but hopefully it will soon go down.

Meecie ~ Wow, you have been busy. When my DD called today, she was also eating a spinach salad!

Speaking of pictures that were taken of us that we don't like, when I went to a luncheon of BC sisters when I was only 6 months out, there was a pic taken of me that was absolutely HORRIBLE. Yell  I was NOT sitting up straight, I had on a cream colored jacket that made me look pale (was only 3 months out of Rads, so that didn't help), I wasn't smiling, & my haircolor was NASTY !! Yell

HOT flash goin' on here! Tongue out Whew! I'll be freezing in 30 seconds!

Renee ~ Congrat on the 85 score! I'm sure you & the staff work your butts off every day. I bet ya the stress alone has lost you a # or two. Laughing

Good luck to us all tomorrow! I have not done too well this week, so I don't hold out much hope for myself.....

Sheila ~ Your wings are just about like mine. I haven't used my hand weights since I did that one time a week or so ago, shame on me. And, I haven't used that silly elastic band either.

What is wrong with me??? Embarassed

You are normal, Valjean. Nothing wrong with you.

I went to step on the scale this morning to report what ever I saw.  And the battery was dead!!!

Now I will buy a battery today but we are having a bbq at work, and I am sure I will over eat and gain fifteen pounds over night.  But I WILL weigh in tomorrow!

    Hey birdies....... quick fly by.

I was 139.0 which I take as a HUGE victory: given trick-or-treating with the grandkids was the night before.

I will be gone all next week, to CA for national convention. No scale next Fri..... eating in hotel for a week. I will pack apples and other healthy eats to have some options. I need to take a box of cereal, too. LOL

    I'm almost totally failing.

The good think my blood work is excellent so i must be doing something right.

I'm really thinking if that's the case why should I loose weight?

I don't eat fried foods, I really eat healthy its just that I eat too much even of the healthy thing.

    Am I making sense?

    Faith you really did good.

Val I agree with Meece, nothing is wrong with you.

    HUGS To All

Holy crap, that means I've gained a # since last Friday. Cry

Meecie ~ lol on the dead battery in your scale ~ I'm 'a thinkin' I just might remove the battery in mine altogether..........

Sheila ~ I thought I was doing well this week myself, guess not. We have NOT had one bag of Halloween candy in this house, I was just saying that to my DH tonight when we went to town to get some groceries. So it's not that. I had fruit this week, limited portions, no desserts. At my ob-gyn's office, they weighed me with my clothes on & shoes, of course. When I was checking out, the gal was setting up my mamm via phone & I caught my breath when I heard her say, "153" & I knew she was telling them my weight (for the mammo machine). Makes me sick.... Maybe because your bloodwork is so good & you are, for the most part, eating good, that where you are right now is your new normal. What do you think?

Sometimes I really feel like just giving up where my weight is concerned.....

    Congrats to you, Faithie!

    {{hugs to all}}

Maybe now I can start over again this next week.  I hope with my renewed wt loss plan.  HMMM.

By the way, I thought I had a spare battery, but it seems I used it last week on my car remote.  I didn't want to go out shopping this weekend, so I will guess my weight to be 164.

    Heading to Anaheim.

Suitcase all packed. Now to figure out what I have "forgotten" .............. I still need to finish creating my new power-point presentation. This is the first time I've ever presented with this particular person & so I have to integrate what he will be presenting. I am now 70% done, and our workshop isn't till Thurs a.m.

I fly out at 6:00 a.m. The airlines changed my reasonable mid-morning flight to this nonsense. I have packed quite a lot of nibble goodies that aren't decadent, but hopefully filling.

Everybody jump on the wagon and tighten your seat belt.

We've gotta have a good couple of weeks as we head to the end of the month.

I'm down to 140 and haven't posted here much because of the unhealthy weight loss. But the reason I have is because I am finally going to start some physical therapy. I can hardly make it up the stairs at this point with out having to stop at the top. I need help opening a bottle of Gatoraid. I'm convinced they have this whole thing DXed wrong. But then again I'm scared for them to find something worse wrong. P.T. should help.

Lisa ~ I am so hoping that the PT is the just "the cookie" you need to get you back on your feet again!  Smile

Actually, if you consider when you started here at E-LAB, if it was near the beginning, your weight loss is normal. Eight months would be 3.25 #'s month, seven months would be 3.71 #'s a month. I say that is a slow, steady loss. Am I figuring it wrong? I say, hooray for you! May I ask why you think it is unhealthy?

Please let us know how the PT goes. I have been wondering how you've been. Thanks for checking in, Lisa.

I just asked DH if we could go, we have an aquaintance he could see in Anaheim, but he reminded me I have a committment in Paso Robles all day Saturday and are on the schedule to have the church nursery Sunday. Bummer.  I would have done it in a heart beat.  Don't count me out, next time you are on the schedule for California, let me know, I will try to find a way to get together.
