Baby it's cold outside

Sunny, but chilly with clouds moving it. Gotta check the weather forguessing and see if there is more rain coming.

Hi everyone - catching up on some BCO reading before I have to head off to work.
Fine with intermittent heavy showers and windy today. It is still cold from the Southerly flow and yesterday I had my merino, opossum, silk mix heavy jersey on all day and I was only just warm. Meant to reach 63 to day but with the wind it won't feel like it. NOT looking forward to playing tennis tonight in the wind

The sun has been out for awhile and the ground is dry except for the deep puddles. THe temps have not been that cool yet, but because I will be outdoors from Thursday morning through Sunday evening (except for going home to sleep) I am sure that the weather will cool down enough to make me miserable. I like watching the winter weather from indoors.
-
Fall has definitely come to the Carolina's, we need to run the heat in the car in the mornings and the AC in the afternoons. The leaves are starting to change and fall off the trees. We may be seeing more normal temps later this week in addition to some rain. I had some brick work done at my house last week so we could move the 200 gal kerosene tank. The block stand got damaged 2 years ago when we were working on the water lines leaving the tank precariously balanced and we only put 10 or 20 gallons in the tank at a time. I ran out of K-1 frequently last year, I am getting 150 gallons put in next week after the mortar has finished setting up.

Well everyone, we had a record high today almost 90 degrees, but my office was so cold, I had to wear a sweater all day. We've had no rain for the entire month, but the weather guessers are saying we may get some next week. Farmer's Almanac says that we are to have a colder winter than usual. Will be nice to begin to wear long pants again and closed toed shoes for awhile. It will be nice to not have to run the air for awhile.
Plan to rest this weekend, I'm so tired. Watch football, Suzette your school is doing great. My son and his girlfriend found out the baby is a boy--his name will be Jacob. Can't wait until March

Rain & wind predicted for this weekend-Yeah!
-
Spring had definately sprung, days are warmer with gentle breezes and nights are still cool enough to snuggle under the doona. Every bush, tree and grass is producing flowers of many colors and hues and the perfumed air is giving my nose such an orgasm of aromas that it won't stop dripping.........oh, sorry, that's the hayfever starting....waaahhhh. The definate spoiler of spring....Grrr.
Love to all. chrissyb

we had a frost warning last night, the first one of the year. I am not sure if we did get cold enough for frost to form but we need the cooler temps to help with the changing colors of the leaves. calling for temps in the 70's by afternoon.
-
There's a skin of ice on the dog's wading pool this am, got to get out and empty it and put it away for the winter later today. VERY chilly breeze, too, got to give in and start wearing a coat when I go out. Oh well, had to happen, I suppose. One of the african violets in my terrarium is blooming up a storm--it hasn't bloomed in so long I forgot what color it is! Is a beautful pale pink.
-
Meece - I like the topper! A bit chilly this AM, but not too bad-soccer @ 1PM-I'm hoping the torrential downpour waits until after the game!
-
Day three of four down for our koi show, and no rain. Hopefully it can hold off until Monday.
-
Hi ladies - 74 degrees on Saturday, 68 today - yay - summer is definitely on the way. So nice to be in shorts and t-shirt! It is our Labour Day holiday weekend so it is fantastic to have lovely weather. Had elderly friends and D stepdaughter for BBQ lunch yesterday - nice lazy afternoon of eating and chatting. Coffee this afternoon with my friend who has just had 3 weeks holiday touring in England/France (lucky) - have to get my listening ears on!
-
Whew!!! What a long last four days! We had a very nice show, and Thursday and Friday the sun was shining beautifully. Saturday we had a bit of overcast in the morning but cleared up nicely. The forecast was for rain yesterday which would have been really bad, but it didn't come. We were breaking down the show until nearly 10:00 last night. I woke up at 2:00 am to the sound of wind and rain hitting our bedroom windows. it has rained off and on since, with a total of .04" so far. What a blessing that it waited to rain until after everything was cleaned and put away.
-
This weekend has been wet and windy. Our third storm since Friday evening is just now blowing itself out.
-
The weather had impeccable timing Meece - hope the show went well.
Fine again for us today but showers Wed - Fri with temps 63 - 65. Night temps are warmer now too.
-
I will have to post some pictures. It went great!
No rain in the forecast for this week...yet.
-
We had a night of bad weather. It started about 7:00 pm with Tornado watch/warnings that kept getting extended. There were 3 lines of storms that went through. The neighboring counties had possible tornado touch downs. GMA was in Catawba county this morning showing the damage. 5 or 6 houses were destroyed, a trucking company had trailers overturned and several injuries to people. They say that the stormy weather will come back this evening when the temps get back up in the 80's again. What a wild October.

-
I don't have to worry about tornados, but the rain is coming down in buckets right now! I'm seriously considering going to bed early so I can go to sleep listening to the rain. . .
-
No tornados, no heavy rainstorms..just whisps of clouds. Wore a sweater to work today and am really regretting it right about now.
-
More severe storms tonight but south of me. The storms followed the same track as yesterday.
Sheila
-
windy, cold-what you expect in SF, but it's hot there tonight!
-
weather here has been nuts. Nice warm days with a little rain, haven't needed to wear a jacket, then bam, yesterday I needed a coat and it felt like snow. Hey, I know this is WA but come on, isn't there a season called Fall that's suppose to come after summer and before Winter.
-
The leaves are changing colors that indicate the season known as Fall but the temps are stuck in the season known as Summer.
-
Lots of storms around the entire US. It's nuts outside! This morning at 5:30 it was 70 degrees outside here in Atl. We had storms all day yesterday with heavy rain.
-
I'm baaaacccckkkk!!!
First - Happy very belated birthday to Sheila. It sounds like you had a fun day.
My daughter had her baby, Lily Christine on Wednesday, October 13th and I was able to be in the room with my DD, DSIL and DGD when she was born. 7#13oz. Then I caught whatever crud is going around (in Michigan anyway) and have been sick ever since the baby was born. I swear it's from hanging around the hospital that I got sick. So, finally am feeling so much better and catching up on BCO.
Our weather has been weird, as others have indicated. We had winds, tornados and storms most of the week. Today it's very cold with a high expected of 45 degrees.
Mary, thanks for thinking of my football team. We're hoping for another win against Iowa this weekend and we'd be 9 and 0. I'm not counting my chickens though. It's a good season no matter what. Enjoy the world series.
Meece - can't wait to see pictures of the Koi show.
-
So sorry you have ben under the weather, Suz. That's a bummer when there is a new baby around. I went to visit my mom in the hospital yesterday. Hope I didn't run into anyone with the crud!
I have been so busy I haven't even checked out the pictures we took.
-
Suz - congratulations on the new grandbaby!
Hope Mum and Lily are doing well and that Dad and DGD are adjusting! Sorry you have been ill - hope it is the only 'nasty' you pick up all winter.Lovely day here today - fine and sunny with a gentle breeze.
-
Congrats Suz on your precious new grandbaby. It is hot and muggy here like it is in the summer. No rain at all for the month of October. We really need it.
Today is my 2 year cancerversary. It has been a really good day.
-
Congrats, Mary, on your two year cancerversary!! May you have many, many more!
I think I have may have forgotten to tell you, Suzette, congratulations on your new Granddaughter! How absolutely wonderful & how excited you must be!
♥
-
We have had just shy of a quarter inch this season. Supposed to have another small storm come through tonight. Hopefully we will have a nice weekend.
