Has anyone started a forum for Chemo in Dec 2008?

Carie: . Stay strong. Chemo always sucks but it does the job so its worth it. Sending love and prayers.

Carie, it takes a few days for that Decadron to leave your system. I had my challenges with taxotere but I understand it kicks butt, which is what you want! I pray that the side effects are not too severe for you.
-
Here I go again......time for the 2nd dose. This week hasn't been horrible, but it still sucks to know what I'm getting myself into!:-)
-
Haven't been here for quite awhile, but trying to catch up.
Carie -- Life isn't fair, and it sure isn't fair that you were dx'd with mets. I'm really sorry that you have to go through chemo again, but at the same time it could put you into remission and let you get your life back on track again. I hope the SEs are manageable and that you have a great support system. Take care~~
Caroline -- I don't know much at all about the chronic condition you have been dx'd with, but I sure hope you are feeling better and getting around more easily every day. Take care...

Carie, you are a warrior! Kick butt girl!
-
Carie: Texas is right. You are a warrier. You go girl! We are here for you!
Sending hugs.

Hey Carie. Good luck with Tx2. Hope you're managing ok. So, who's the new dude in your avitar? It's not the same guy that was in the hot tub with you in your last avitar.
-
My husband says "that is definitely the same guy, thank you very much!!" LOL
I'm doing ok today, just feeling shakey and kind of flushed. Tomorrow will be when I the "truck" runs me over.
-
LOL
My apologies to your DH. Tell him he looked more like a greek god in the hot tub and now more like a black Adonis. I guess you know the chemo routine by now. Get done what you can today and stay in bed till the truck is gone!!! Prayers to you my friend.
-
LOL....so funny. My husband is Indonesian and he works outside, so he definitely is a lot darker now than at the beginning of the summer.:-)
-
Well that's good to know, Carie. I don't feel quite so stupid now. He does look different. I really do have to look you up next time I'm in the Cities.
-
Carie, how's the "truck" doing? Has it moved on or is it idling?
-
Carie, how are you feeling?
Caroline, how are things?
Hugs to all.
-
Love to all my bc sisters--Carrie thinking expecially of you ! xo
-
Hi everybody. I'm still hanging in there. I managed to catch a good chest cold with this round of chemo...fun, fun. The 'truck' ran me over, but I don't think it backed up and ran me over again this time. My onc said to take half a decadron on saturday and sunday to help with the joint aches and pain, and it actually helped, imagine that!:-)
Today is my daughter's birthday, she is 14.:-) How did my kids get so old?
-
Hey just stopped in to say hello.
Carrie: Your doing it!!!!! Stupid cold! Hope your managing ok. Sending healing, loving thoughts and prayers.
Funny how oct. is breast cancer awareness month. We are aware of it everyday huh? Love ya sistahs!
-
Hi Carie, Glad that truck kept rolling this time. Kids do grow up way too fast. But you can't stop it. Can't keep them babies. Are you able to do anything special for her birthday?
Hi Bold. Good to have you drop by. You too loves my family. It makes me feel good to know that there are still quite a few of us still here.
-
Carie, glad to hear the truck didn't back up, it's at least that! How's the cold? Ready for another truck in a few days? Geez, that's harsh every week! You're awesome! And kicking some cancer out! Keep it up, you can do it
As far as me, I'm finally out of the boot and I can walk
Stitches are out. Met with the dr last week, he said that sadly he's seen a few cases but only time will tell how it will affect me. Because of what he saw during surgery, he doesn't feel that it should affect me much, he wasn't able to remove it all as some of it was stucked on the skin and had he removed it, well, he would have taken a chunk of skin out! Still have 6 weeks to take it easy, and believe me, there is no option on that one, after being out of commission for so long, I can only bare being on my feet for about an hour at the time, any longer and I pay for it! I've been walking without the boot for about a week now and I'm feeling better, pain is going away finally and I'm driving with almost no pain
I'm just glad it's finally over, phew, what a scare. Now getting ready for my 2nd mammo since cancer on Monday. I don't like those, I'm sure we ALL don't like those, the little fear monster is crawling back in my head...
-
Caroline: You are such a strong woman. It is a pleasure to "know" you. I pray this is the end of that for a long time!!!! My Mammo is in November. I have them every 6 months. I hate them tooooo!!!!!! Peace and health to all the sisitahs!
-
Ugh. Just got a call from the cancer center. Some number that measures something about my liver is elevated. So it's possible I may have to change the chemo I am doing. And of course, there's the really scary thought rolling around that the cancer has snuck its way into my liver......
-
Damn! Don't you just love it when you get half the information, and can only fill the rest in with worry???? Hopefully it's something easily handled with a mid-course correction!
-
No, no, no & no! I refuse that there are mets to your liver, and that's the end of it! Sorry, you're going through that again. Does it mean they're putting a hold on Thursday's chemo?
Thanks Bold, you're so sweet
For some reason, my BS is doing yearly mammo, last October, she said I'll see you in a year and I wasn't about to complain about it. I wonder if one day she'll put me on a every other year schedule, wouldn't that be great. With all the other diagnostic test I keep getting all the time, I don't feel bad about not doing the 6 month mammos.
-
praying for you busqueen! xo
-
Carie, don't panic yet. My liver function tests where over the top while I was on chemo. I'm surprised I didn't have liver failure. think about how much stress your body is going thru with this chemo schedule you're on. EVERYTHING gets filtered thru the liver. All the chemo, all the crap you have to take to counter the se of chemo and the steroids. Wait and see what they say. NO NO NO to liver mets. Just liver overload. That could change your type of chemo. My prayers every day.
-
Carie: Don't panic. Like Firni my liver function tests were over the top while I was on chemo and for a time afterwards. And it sounds like your onc has it under control and will change the chemo as needed--that's a good sign! Sending you hugs and prayers.

Thanks everybody for helping me calm down. I see my onc tomorrow at 10:45 and I am scheduled for chemo, which ever chemo it ends up being, I guess. I still have this icky chest cold though, {no fever}, so I'm almost hoping they'll decide to skip this week so I can get over this cough.
Caroline, I'm so glad you're pain is going away.:-)
Firni, my daughter had a fun birthday, starting with breakfast in bed and ending with a movie.:-)
-
Hang in there Carie. I'm holding my breath and saying my prayers for you!!!
-
Sending positive thoughts and a hug to you today Carie.
-
Hope your doin OK. Carrie. Prayin for you today!!!
-
Thinking of you today, Carie.
