THE 2ND TA TAS SISTERHOOD REUNION IN VEGAS!!

Lilah and Jazzy....I sure do hope both of you are feeling much better before Friday..
jancie...you are one wild lady..LOL...I am bringing a dress (simple) and dressy sandals but no heels for me. If my feet get tired it affects my whole body...wears me down..
for the rest of the time...capri's, casual tops, and a light wrap for indoors "cold" air.
I spent this afternoon going to Walmart for last minute things and then getting clothes ready and layed out ready to pack. I was so busy I only had a granola bar all afternoon. I went for a bike ride and worked out at the gym so I did eat when I got home.
jancie....fake hair and no one can tell...Me and Estepp will because we are hair experts...LOL
I have hot flashes also. I made little fans out of index cards to carry in my purse so when I have one I will have a fan with me.......

Lilah - I look like an old frumpy menopausal women! But I am determined next year to show up looking like Estepp and Traceyz!
I am getting my hair highlited on Thursday. Even though this fake ponytail matches so closely - I want it to match PERFECTLY. I love my hair stylist - she has been so wonderful this entire time with me and always makes me feel better about myself. Now if only I could get a discount on my hair by playing the cancer card - nope not with her. I would NEVER have spent that much money on my hair even 2 years ago but once I lost it - well I am going to spoil myself and dh is just going to have to accept it! I used to go to a hairdresser at the most twice a year - now I am going every 8 weeks and highlighting every 16 weeks.
Linda54 - trade you a t-shirt for one of your fancy fans
-
LOL...not fancy fans Jancie....I just glued 2 index cards together to make them stiffer. I can get through those hot flashes better when I can get some air blowing on my face. Greeting cards make good instant fans. I keep one in my Bible so it is handy during church service.
Jancie...you are going to be hot...to hot to touch....black dress and highlighted hair with fake pony tail.....wooooohoooooo....
-
What an idiot I am. I just reread my post and said Monday instead of Thrusday. And that was before I had a glass of wine. Oh well.
good night to all.
-
See you all in VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Jancie I cannot wait to meet you! You sound like alot of fun! Can't wait to see your beautiful long hair. I do plan on wearing a dress one of the nights.. Probably the meet and greet.. The rest of the nights I will be wearing my fat shirts like Lilah and Jazzy.. My friend Melissa will be wearing her skinny shirts. She is really just a little bit of nothing.. Probably about a size 1 and works out like 5 days a week. Oh how I envy her!!
-
Jennifer - too bad that all my LONG hair is fake hair! I used to have such beautiful natural blonde long hair until chemo. Now my hair - well it is just below the shirt collar so I am ok with it and actually like the style - I just want it LONG LONG LONG!!!
I remember when I was in my 20's and I would look at 50 year old women with hair down past their bra line and wonder what in the heck are they thinking, older women shouldn't wear their hair long because it just makes them look as though they are trying to pretend to be younger.
And here I am at 50 years of age thinking what the heck was I thinking back then? I want long hair then dangit I will grow my hair long no matter what age I am. Of course before I pretty much wore it in a ponytail 24/7 or in a nice bun to church.
-
Jennifer - the shirts I bought for Vegas - all x-large. I could have gotten away with size large but the material is so darn thin that it just seems to cling to those extra rolls of fat on my back and stomach so the extra size helps them just hang from the shoulders so I can hide my weight better.
I am all for dressing comfortable. Here in Utah, well we don't dress up much. It is totally acceptable to grocery shop in sweat pants whereas in Dallas you would have had security following you around as though you were going to steal something if you dared to wear sweats to even just grocery shop.
Nope, I got tired of feeling like my hair and face had to be done up perfect all of the time, dressed up in fancy clothes, etc.
I wear lipstick to funerals and weddings and that is it! I rarely put eye make up on but since of course all of these women are bringing cameras I will have to try to be a little more presentable.
-
In May I bought a new sleeveless dress which I hope to wear Friday night. But as others said I better try it on... I'm still a little bummed thinking what doc told me in July... due to my fibroids it's like I'm 15 weeks pregnant. Come this winter I might just bite the bullet and have that hysterectomy.
Ok for good news... I did the relay marathon with 4 of my biking friends today and we rocked it out. We all did better than what we thought. Thank goodness my ankle held up
Whooo Hoooo he we come Vegas : )
-
Oh crap!! I just looked at Sandy's picture and we almost have the same identical hairstyle!!!! Yippeee....
Sandy - can't believe you can do all of that streneous exercise!!! I just don't have the energy.
-
Jazzy & Lilah, hope you're feeling better very very very soon!!!
Ha-ha, plan a women's get together and a major topic of conversation is clothing, of course! I plan to bring at least one dress, although heels are questionable. I'm a pretty comfy clothes person so everything I bring will be comfy. If I matched well enough I wouldn't even bring bras but, well, I'm a bit too self conscious for that right now.
5 more days!!
Cindy
-
Jancie just thought I would share my hair is shorter... I will try copy and pasting a pix from my facebook
-
great pic Sandy..congrats on your accomplishment....and 15 weeks pregnant...I was barely showing when I was 15 weeks...lol...Sandy is not pregnant..only with fibroids....did not want to freak everyone out...
I have been checking out the restaurants at Crystals. Most of them are kind of pricy and some appears to take reservations....
-
Dang Sandy - wish I had your bod!!! You look awesome!!!
-
Linda54 - I can't afford to eat at pricey restaurants so maybe on Friday evening before the meet and greet we can get together and go eat a CHEAP DINNER! I have limited funds and I figured that transportation alone is going to be around $90 for the entire weekend.
This is why I pay the nickle slots - you can play for hours and drink free and maybe blow through $10 at the most in 2 hours.
-
Ok girls, you talked me into a dress and heels for Friday night! I need to start pulling stuff together. 4 DAYS!!!!!
-
I also researched restaurants at Crystals. There is a Wolfgang Puck sort of place in the downstairs section that is not too expensive... light fare (salads, sandwiches, soups) as far as I could tell... and no reservations needed.
I'm surprised they don't have a food court! Isn't that traditional in a mall?
There are also inexpensive places to eat at PH -- one that I recall is Earl of Sandwich.
-
Hey ladies, thank you for the wardrobe/packing tips. We are having 90-100 degree weather here in CA, so I'm thinking summer outfits for Las Vegas. And of course a dress for Friday night!
Lilah, is your cold better? Jazzy, rest up well today - hope you are feeling better soon!
-
Feeling much better today thanks Kristen
Jazzy hope you feel better soon too!

Ok Ok..it's time I break my Silence....I too suffer from the "FAT SYNDROME" I can't even take the chance of wearing a dress due to the effect's it would have on onlooker's
. I had my nail's done in bright Pink & getting some Pink put into the hair tomorrow to hopefully drawl the attention away LOL LOL It's all good...No worries..I just have to go look in my closet & cross finger's I can still wear what I wore last year & no one will know the difference LOL
I was fineally able to get outside & saw some old friends at a race my hubby was doing-Memories..I was labled the "AB QUEEN" when I was teaching arobic's & Ab workouts years back..instead of getting down on myself..I remembered alot of you Gals are out there & with that in mind..I'm getting my gusto back & gonna give her my best to get back into shape. If the offer is still there, I game to do the best I can about getting in a quickie workout!!

Laura - LOL - you crack me up!
-
Journey...um that's because you're my roomie. :-)
-
Good 'cause the only exercise I plan on doing is walking from casino to restaurant to bar and back again. That and the occasional 12 oz curls.
-
Hey... I not planning on any dieting!!! Just to get my big old butt out of bed & touch my toes will be good enough for me LOL There will be plenty of walking to get the Heart a pumping!!
Still 3 days till VEGAS WAHOOO!!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
It looks like I will pack last minute, unless my body does miraculous healing. I'm still glued to the couch and headed back for another snooze...I just gotta get better!!! wah! Oh woe is me...
-
JAzzy..don't overdo...we need you !!!!!!! Rest & more REST!!! TA TA SISTA'S Order's!!!!!
(((HUGS))) XOXO
Still 3 days till VEGAS WAHOOO!!!
P.S. has anyone noticed that I've been doing the amount of O's & !'s for the number of days in the WAHOOO!!! in the countdown?? LOL LOL
Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
Jazzy hope you feel better soon! The "mall", aka City Center is upscale and you will not find a traditional food court (meaning "affordable" places to eat). It is very beautiful, but for me to shop and buy something there...it probably won't happen. But if I win the mega millions tomorrow night...lol!
