(((((((((((((((((LUCY))))))))))))))))))))) prayers going up!!!
-
Lucy ... I am so sorry about your DH. I am saying prayers for him right now. Depression is no stranger to my family. I know how hard it is (from both sides) - both on the depressed person and his/her spouse.
-
Holly,
Thinking of you and sending prayers, love and big hugs.
To all my other dust bunny friends I think of you all each day and am grateful to each and everyone of you
Love Viv
-

((((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs to all dustbunnies)))))))))))))))))))

-
Arnie ... my foot is slowly but surely healing - finally! Of course, I am keeping my sugars in check which probably helps a whole lot! In fact, Lucy's advice to use honey has worked like a charm.
Coonie ... what a memory! I am seriously impressed!
Lucy ... hugs and prayers. As Arnie said, please let us know.
-
Oh Kathleen thanks for posting the good news about your foot. It certainly was about time for that foot to heal.
Lucy you and DH are still in my thoughts. Hope to hear from you soon.
-
(((((((((((Kathleen)))))))))) so glad to hear your foot is doing better!

((((((((((((((Holly))))))))))))))) please let us know what's happening!
My gs Trent is in a wedding today.... He came in last night and said "Arnie" I started to cry when I walked down the aisle the first time... but the second time I smiled... bless his little heart. I told him he'd do fine. Told my dd to take a bunch of pics!!! Can't wait to see him in his tux!
No housework here today...gonna take our little "Lilah" and go visit my sister.

Arnie ... its the truth - this has taken so long! I want to see the pictures of Trent in a Tux too!
Jayne ... thanks for the good wishes - I am not sure how I will handle NOT having to put a bandage on my foot after a bath!
And finally, in keeping with this thread's topic:
My theory on housework is, if the item doesn't multiply, smell, catch fire, or block the refrigerator door, let it be. No one else cares. Why should you? - Erma Bombeck
-
Hey Jayne---it's always good to see you pop in here every now and again. How are you feeling? Anywhere back to normal? Or do you have one of those "new normals" like most of us have these days. Well, I hope you're able to move on without having to think about BC a few days at a time.
Katheen..........PLEASE try to take good care of yourself. It's so serious....being a diabetic.....You need to eat right, dah dah dah........so you'll be around these boards for a long time finding us the cutest pictures!!!
Arnie!!!!!!----I'm really getting worried now. How are you? Did things go ok this week??? Please come fill us in on what's going on in your life. I'm skeered.
Vivvygirl----are you doing ok? How's the weather? How's your health? How's your kiddos? Please check in so we can hear from you and know that you're doing ok.
I hear from Barbe and Faithie on other threads.....sounds like they've both been giving birth for the last few days.....new hardback books and new soft cuddley babies
(((((((((big hugs to all you bunnies))))
I guess Sharon is just doing wayyyyy too much housework to keep up with this thread. I can see her now flitting around the house, humming to the birds music, cleaning as she bounces from one room to another.
And Shinygirl.----it's been so long since we've heard from you!! Are you just busy with the wee kiddos? Has school started back? Pop in sometime soon when you're feeling your peacchieeesssssttt daaahhhhling. Hugs to you and your kiddos!!
Lucy---How are things with DH? I hope everything has calmed down and there's peace and harmony in your home. (((((((hugs))))))))

Boy... where does time fly???? I remember the days we used to be on here all the time.... maybe we'll be on more when "winter" comes....
Ok... here are some pics! lol I finally got to see my Trentster last night... first time in 2 weeks!
We sat and cuddled while he played his Nintendo ds. It felt soooooooo good to see him, since he's been in a full day of school it's harder to get together. Lilah is here today... she spends atleast two days a week with "Arnie".
I had my six month mammogram yesterday morning and then went to the doc about my back. My lower back is arthritis... and they think the pain I was having in my upper back was pleurosy. (sp) It's better now but they told me to continue my antibiotics. Man... I don't know about you guys but it seems like the "ball" is rolling downhill for me healthwise. Looking forward to better days?!?
I agree with Coonie...missing all you dustbunnies!!!! No housework for me today... except for following after my Lilah and picking up her messes...lol
xoxoxo
-
Good morning! It is not even 5:30 a.m. here and I am up. I don't think I sleep much anymore - and its not from doing housework!
Janet ... they x-rayed me from head to toe and found arthritis everywhere. its amazing how a lot of things go by the wayside as we age. BTW, the grandkids are so adorable! Your little Lilah reminds me so much of my cousin's little girl, Ava. Like Lilah, Ava is full of herself!
Coonie ... my little friend. Isn't it wonderful news about Barbe's grandchild. The circle of life continues. You are always so good in following all of our trials and tributions. Yes, you are so right about diabetes - what an insideous disease and responsible for everything - I am surprised I wasn't told diabetes caused my breast cancer!
Lucy ... where the heck are you? I really miss you!
Shiny & Jayne... I hope all is well across the pond. Write and let us know how you and your family are doing.
Sharon ... if you are doing housework stop it right this minute!
Can you believe it is October already?! Before you know it, the ghosts and goblins will be out -
-
Glad to see some breath-of-freshair here and dear friends.
Happy PINK-tober to everyone.
xx00xx00xx00xx
I want the Trent-in-Tux picture enlarged for details: LOL.
I believe Barbe has now welcomed two of her triangle of babies. Whooohooooo.
Kathleen, always good to see you.
Lucy, hugs & prayers.
VivvyGirl? How's tomorrow?
SHINEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coonie & Sharon are probably have brunch somewhere together.
Jayne, Mary et al. Just love it when you pop in with a quick update.
My book is consuming my waking moments (and my sleeping ones as well) attempting to build some muscles for it. I LOVE seeing people's reactions. Then realizing I did the art. Then realizing that the art are quilts. It's so funny to see the dawning as they grasp the details.
Much love my fellow bunnies.
-
Yes, we did welcome Fynn on Monday night at 6:04. We were at the hospital so saw him within minutes of birth. 8 lbs even, everyone doing well. I'm just swamped with boxes and packing and continuing to work and looking forward to next week because we MOVE on Thursday and then I get TWO weeks off! That will be so great to help us settle in. I need a holiday so bad. Lot's of stressors lately, some good (babies) some harder (mortgages - yikes!).I'm rapidly running out of gas and wonder if I'll make it to the finish line!
We have the phone company coming in the Friday after we move so I'll make sure there is a jack where I need it for you guys!!!
-
Congratulations Barbe! Pictures please! Always love to see those little ones! And everyone else, too!
Congratulations on your book, Faith! Love the updates - both physical and book-wise! Is this your second book? It's so great that you can encourage these children to read.
No time for housework, too many other details to attend to right now! Let's all take the month off!
-
I don't come to BCO much anymore. But when I do come by this thread, I cry. For all that we have been through together. For our lives that are going on now and for the pain that we have shared in the past. Life goes on, doesn't it?
I'm not naming names because you are all so special, but Coonie...dang, you always remember.
So much news and I have followed a lot of it on Facebook (Come on, the rest of you GET ON THERE!!). Through Facebook, I keep up with Barbe, KAK, MAK, Jayne, Jane, Debbie, Cathi...I'm drawing a blank here! Others too!
Lucy, I'm praying for your DH. I hope all is well.
As for me, life is good. My husband and I have decided to seize the day so to speak. We have learned that life is precious, so we have bought an RV lot in Port Aransas, TX where we will park our 5th wheel year round. As often as I can, I will walk the beach and let nature heal me. Pray for all of you. And just try to survive. It would be great if we could go more often, but once a month for long weekends will have to do for now.
I'm doing well. Fighting those lovely side effects that hang on. October 6th will be one year since my last chemo. Hard to believe. My hair is fully back although I must admit I am thinking about cutting it very short. I had my Zometa last week so I saw my onc. My labs are all normal. I hope things on the inside are too! It's always scary. Oh, and I have frozen shoulder. That's been a real blast. LOL
I am blessed and I know that. A loving family, good insurance, and a belief in God that helps me through it. I hope all you ladies are doing well. I pray for all of you nightly.
Love and hugs,
Mary
-
Barbe ... best of luck on the move - the times I have had to move I just freeze. Talk about anxiety attacks! You're so strong I know you will get this done.
Mary ... how do you get a "frozen shoulder?" Congratulations on your one year anniversary.
It has been two years since I was diagnosed with Cancer (October 3, 2008)! Where in the heck does the time go?
Faith ... congratulations. Its always nice to see you too. How is Saint's family doing? I think of her and them often.

Heading to Thunderbay tomorrow to spend a week with my parents. They do not have internet so not sure If i will be able to keep in touch or not. Here it is Thanksgiving this weekend.Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian buddies.

Hey Girls......It great to have some movement on this thread.
I see we all have been busy and getting on with our lives.
Spring has arrived here and I know because I sleep on top of my sheet now instead of under it!!!
I have had a few highs and lows but mainly am coming to accept what has happened. If only I could manage the fatigue and stop the weight gain. I have been to see a psychologist a couple of times but hasn't seem to help that much...I get most of my answers and support from everyone at BCO. She has no experience of BC so thinks you should just change your thinking and get over it. If only that could happen and I didn't have to see the great big scar across my chest and deal with the medication side effects.Barbe: Big Congratulations for the little one. You must be so proud.
Lucy: I think of you often and hope that things are working out.
Coonie: Thanks for asking about the kids. They are great apart from the normal teenage dramas. My DS has just returned from 2 week school exchange to Japan. He bought me back the most adorable teapot so that I would drink my green tea.
Faith: I saw your name and smiled...It is so great to hear from you again.
Mary: I still cry often, it has just become part of what I do and who I am.
Arnie: Springtime makes me think of sunflowers and especially a photo you posted a very long time ago of your garden and sunflowers. I am at work today but tomorrow I will be buying seeds and planting them tomorrow so I can enjoy the flowers and think of all the dust bunnies.
Shiny: Are you watching the Commonwealth Games?
To all the other dustbunnies I have not listed...you are not forgotten and I think of everyone...often.
Love and hugs
Viv
-
Mum ... that's some handsome turkey you got there! First, however, we have to do Halloween here.
Viv ... how lovely to see you.
Lucy ... how are you sweetie?
-
Vivvy!! Glad to see you post! I can see why a psychiatrist wouldn't understand breast cancer. They think of it as an event. Perhaps even one that changed your life. But really it's a sword hanging over your head that you have to pretend to ignore....like living on death row.
Hope I didn't sadden anyone by my analogy.
-
(((((((((((((Vivy)))))))))))))) boy, ain't it the truth??? I haven't been out in my garden for approx. a month.... need to get out there and clean up for the winter... but keep finding excuses. Very unlike me, I must say. I do understand the "fatigue". So funny that we're going into our fall and winter and you are just entering spring.... Will be looking forward to seeing pics of your garden!!!!
((((((((((((Barbe))))))))))))) Congrats on second grandbaby!!!! How joyous!!!! How's your move going?
((((((((((((((Kathleen)))))))))))))) hope all's going well with you... I had Trent and Lilah here yesterday and I told Trent I put a pic of his "Tux" online. I guess the little girl that walked down the aisle with him really likes him. She isn't in his class but is in the one across the hall. One day at recess she had her girlfriends hold him so she could kiss him on the cheek. He ran and told the teacher and he told me yesterday, "That won't happen again!" I told him that he did the right thing... lol
((((((((((((Jane)))))))))))) how cool is that? I didn't read it yet, I'll have to download the whole book first....
(((((((((((mum)))))))))))))) hope you have a wonderful time in Thunderbay!
(((((((((((Texas))))))))))))) my dh and I have talked about buying an RV someday when he retires...
((((((((((((Coonie, Sharon, Faith, Kak, Shiny, etc.etc.)))))))))))))) think about you guys sooooooooo often!
xoxoxoxo to all you dustbunnies!
-
The move is Thursday. I'm off today and one more (shortened) day tomorrow. I must admit, my DH really came up to bat on this move. I read him the riot act before we started the packing telling him that if my body gives up physically he'll be doing the whole thing himself. I'm good at pacing myself. Pack a couple boxes, check out bco.org, pack a few more.
He had a garage sale of stuff I would have thrown out and made $400. He sold some other stuff this week and made another $150. He has arranged a trailer for the dump from a neighbour. We've NEVER gone to the dump before...this is quite exciting. I'm still inside taking down pictures and wrapping plates....
-
Whooohoooooo everyone's checkin' in & givin' updates!!!
Love to see everyone popping in!!
Just had my first library concert of the season -- very first with my new book. A teeny-tiny-town in the foothills of the Appalacian mountains. Hill country. I've been there numerous times in the past, so there were some ol' friends in the audience.
Anyhow, the new book was a big hit.
I showed them the cover and said, "This line says 'by Debbie Clement..... who's Debbie Clement?" And a little four year old girl in the front row said, "Why that's the author, silly."
Everyone laughed so hard. Not sure I'm describing it very well.... but it was a highlight for me!
Can't believe that our Vivvy's heading into spring...tell us lots of spring sprouting stories, girl of tomorrow!! Maybe you need to find a counselor more versed in BC and it's long-haul after effects. Not so easy to stand up straight & get on with it.
Anybody hear from Lucy??
Kissing-in-kindergarten!!
xx00xx00xx00xx
Hugs to each and all.
-
Faith, out of the mouths of babes, too precious!
I am SO worried abou Lucy's husband....
-
Just checking in too! Love the updates! I don't post often, but really enjoy following all of you friends here!
It's almost 1 year since my second surgery - and seems like it's been longer! Does that mean the year has gone fast? Or slow? Anyway, other than fatigue, I'm basically back to "normal". It's so interesting to follow everyone and see how individual our journeys are!
-
Hi 2hands4me, hi everyone... it your old friend lemonette. Hiya daaalings, if can still call you that!

Hello, my dear sweet friends......I have so missed you all......Thank you all for your prayers and well-wishes.....They really helped alot.......Well we got Dh all sorted out and he is doing much better......I don't think the group therapy was doing him any good.....But now he is trying to find a job and has had several leads......Too bad his computer crapped out on him and his resume is on that one......We went to the mounains this past Saturday and had a wonderful time picking apples and touring the old still barn......It was so crowded we couldn't get on the wagon ride though........DH is taking his meds properly now...I found out he was supposed to take one of them in the morning and not at night........Also he is FINALLY using the testosterone cream he was prescribed......I tell you it's like having another child sometimes but I wouldn't trade him for anybody........He is my soulmate......
I am so glad to hear all the good news here too.....I did get a sad email though that Neicy passed....Did any of you know her?.....She was only Stage 2 but didn't get proper tx...her rads came too late and she developed lung mets.......How shameful of those doctors!.......
I will be here more often now as DD has put her computer int he dining room for me to use...She got a new laptop for her Bday..........
I love you all very much and miss you all the time!.........Hugs and much LOVE.......
