I would love to go, however, Theresa (tflowers) and I are going to the Phila Convention Center for the "Annual Fall Conference, Town Hall Meeting, The State of Breast Cancer. It is being sponsored by Living Beyond Breast Cancer and they are having speakers from some of the top cancer facilities. If anyone wants information or would like to meet there for lunch, PM me (or whatever you do now) and I'll call you.
Love, Sue

Sue, don't feel bad ... we're cancelling the get-together scheduled for Saturday the 17th. I think no one realized it was the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and too many people are playing host to their families to spare the time! As soon as I hear of a new date I'll be sure to post here.
Happy Gobble Gobble to all of you ... I hope you have much to give thanks for
Hugs,
Mary

Now that the holidays are over, is there any thought of trying another Philly area get-together?
-
I'm interested.
Marian

I would definitely be interested. Marie

Hi you guys! Hillary, pick a place and we will see what day is good. I still have my drain in from the expander surgery. So maybe later in January would be better for me. I am still pretty tired and don't know why I am not bouncing back from this like last time.
If you need the email list, drop me a line at
bethpknits-pink@yahoo.com. I love Chili's but they might not let us back there after last time, LOL!! There is also a Friday's and a Houlihan's on City Ave and lots to choose from at K of P mall. Cheesecake Factory was a long wait and very noisy. When we met at Bennigan's it was a little quieter and we had a booth in a back corner. Just a few suggestions. I don't care if its McDonalds as long as we are together!
-
Hi ladies! I am from Phoenixville and would love to get together with other locals. I am scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy and DIEP on Jan 21st at Paoli.
I'd love to hear from anyone who went to Paoli if you'd care to PM.
-
Count me in! How about the 20th?
I was planning to try and get together with Hillary and Marian this coming weekend or next.

The 20th works for me. I can do either King of Prussia or City Line area..whatever works for most. Marie

How bout considering the Philly Park Casino in Bensalem on Street Road for one of these events--I think they may even have a buffet---I haven't been there but think it could be a nice afternoon.
Its not far from Cherry Hill NJ either if you come over the Betsey Ross Bridge and also close to the Burlington Bristol Bridge as well as easy access from I-95.
-
The 19th or 20th works for me. I like the idea of the new casino in Bensalem. I know it is accessible from the turnpike, Rt.1 and I-95. Count me in wherever you guys decide. If anyone wants to make another mini get-together for just coffee, I'm game. I don't get to Starbucks otherwise!
Noni, can you make it if it is just before your surgery? We can give pointers in person too. I have a hanging 'pouch' that I used to hold my drains. I got it from the breast cancer liaison from the hospital.
BTW, if anyone knows of someone who needs a chemo cap, I learned how to knit them! I am donating them to Faith and Hope Boutique in Abington to give away. I can bring them to the get-together if you want to see them.
-
Hi Ladies!
I would like to join in, too, if it is ok. Let me know about the location, date and time.
I grew up less than 10 minutes from the Philly Park and Casino, in Northeast Philly, but now live in Upper Bucks County.
Thanks and I hope I get to meet up with you!

Can we still do polls on the boards like before? I didn't see that option.
Looks like we have two choices:
King of Prussia or Philly Park
Both have easy access. They are two entorely different directions. I will be glad to have people ride out with me to either place if you need or want to do that.
If I do not have your email, pm me and I will send something out to everyone who has expressed interest. Can't wait to see everyone again!
-
This is a copy and paste from the email I sent this morning. I do not have everyone's email addys so please let others know.
"Hi everybody! I know that not everyone is on both boards and not everyone checks them so I am sending out this email. This Sunday, January 20th, we would like to meet for an informal lunch with people from both organizations. This is just to meet and greet and talk and have fun. This time, if we "show and tell" we will take in it to the bathroom (not like at Chili's, LOL). The thought was to find someplace central and King of Prussia seems to be a good place, Bennigan's should not be a problem as I called and asked them. They have a lot of moderate priced food as well. Time will be 12 noon.
If this is too far for some to drive from Bucks or Montco, let me know. I have room for 4 in my car. I should have my drain out by Friday since it is looking low enough this morning.
If King of Prussia is too far for and you want to meet in the Eastern Montco or Bucks area, we can make anothjer lunch meet next weekend. Please pass this on to those I do not have emails for. I will copy and paste this into posts both on FORCE and BCO."
Hope we can see each other Sunday!
-
Beth, I would like to attend the Bennigan's lunch. I think it would be very good to meet with you ladies before my surgery.
Please add me to the list, PM me for my email.
-
Noni, we missed you at Bennigan's and hope that you are OK post-surgery. Just post and let us know. If you need anything, pm or call. I will keep my eye out for your post.
Well, the three of us met, me, Marion and Marie. We had a nice lunch as always. I forgot my camera
Anyone up for meeting in February? My weekends are usually free these days. We can do two dates, one for eastern Montco and Bucks County and one for the western suburbs. The distance from one of the area to the other can be up to a 2 hour drive so maybe splitting it up is better. You all know me, if I have directions, I'll go just about anywhere!
I was thinking Red Robin in Neshaminy for one area and Houlihan's on City Avenue for the other. I don't know the Main Line too well so I need some suggestions. Ooh! How about that Italian place near Neiman Marcus on the 2nd floor. I cannot think of its name but I remember it is very good. And you know what? The cafe in Nordstrom's is good too.
Give me some feedback!

Hi everyone, I am from suburban Philly,Broomall. I would like to get together with other gals who have been Dx with DCIS. We could meet in King of Prussia or Paoli. It seems like this dx is in a grey area but still emotional. Hope to hear from you !!!

Good morning, PA sisters.
I am coming to Bloomsburg, PA for a conference next week. It appears that we are having a little shindig for dinner: The Inn at Turkey Hill, Bloomsburg, just off of I-80.
We will be gathering late in the afternoon of Wed., May 6th and having dinner at the Inn.
So far it will be me, Julz -- Julee, and EWB -- Elaine, who's driving in from Jersey for the fun.
I don't know PA, or where anything is in relationship to Bloomsburg, but the more the merrier.
**Jeanie, my DX was for DCIS and I'm two years out: surgery, rads, AI.
-
I've just made our dinner reservation for the four of us, at the first seating, which is at 5:30.
If anyone else would still stumble across this and be in the area, I'm certain they could accomodate another plate at the table..... and we would LOVE to meet you!
-
Hi! I live in Bucks county and would like to get together with anyone interested in doing so. Thanks!
