Philly get together

Ok, it is time to make decisions on March's get-together. From what I have been getting from people who have emailed and PM'd, I think going west of the Schuykill River is a good choice. I also think I should get points for spelling that without looking it up, LOL. So, King Of Prussia seems a good choice. There is plenty of parking, GREAT shopping and easy to get to, PA Turnpike, 202 or the Blue Route. So what will it be everyone? Take the poll or you can email me, bethpknits-pink@yahoo.com, if there is a fantablous and wondiferous palce to go! We spent almost 4 hours just having coffee at Strabucks, so keep that in mind!
-
Oh, I'm so excited!! I just found you ladies and I live in Royersford, just a little NW of Valley Forge. And hey, any excuse to go to KOP works for me. LOL Though I'm not opposed to driving anywhere in the general vicinity.
Jen -
Bumping up. If nobody else places a vote, we will be going to Houlihan's. Let get some feedback and a roll call for who is going. It should be a great time.
-
Correction to the meeting place. It will be Bennigan's not Houlihan's. Still in K of P mall complex, still the 24th still at noon.
-
Hi everybody. I will post the pciture of all of later tonight or tomorrow. We met at Bennigan's and ate and talked for about 3 hours. There were four of us from BCO and one lady from FORCE.
Next month we are meeting again in King of Prussia on April 21st, at The Cheesecake Factory at noon. Hope to see you there. Anyone needing to carpool let me know! -
Sorry it took so long to post the new pic! It has been very hectic this week. My mom had problems with her diabetes and we had a small brush fire at the house! Nobody got hurt but there is minor damage to the house. Thank God for insurance!
So, here we are, (l to r): Nancy, Marie, Sandy, Beth and Shelley. -
I'd like to go to the get together on the 21st. I live in Conshy and loooove the cheesecake factory. My mind is a total sieve these days so if someone would be good enough to PM me to remind me I'd appreciate it. Writing it on my calendar doesn't work .
-
Amy, I will be glad to send you a PM before the 21st. Now, who will remind me, LOL? Anybody else you can think of please tell them to RSVP so we get some kind of head count. I have never been to the Cheesecake Factory. Is it a place that would need a reservation? So far we have been lucky with small groups.
I am so looking forward to meeting you. The more the merrier at these things! -
I'm not sure that the cheesecake factory takes reservations, but if they do, we DEFINITELY need one. Because it's at the mall it gets very very busy at lunch time and I've had to wait for up to an hour for a table for 2. If they don't take reservations, some of us should get there earlier to give our names,we can always get a drink at the bar while we're waiting.
-
What a bunch of beautiful women!! I can't wait to meet you all. I think I'll be able to make it on the 21st.
-
Okay - I'm in for the 21st if it's still on ... we aren't goin to the shore next weekend!!!!!
-
Hey Mar - so glad you'll be joining us. Sounds like we'll have a great group!!! If Cheesecake Factory doesn't take reservations, we could always get a reservation at Maggiano's. How do you all feel about that? Shell
-
As long as I know by Fri night where we're meeting, I'll be there...I can eat and drink anything!
-
Shelley, I thoguht you were the one who suggested Cheesecake Factory? Anyway, Maggiano's won't seat you until the entire party is there and we need an exact count. I called this morning in between bailing buckets of water in my family room. I think I saw a little old man with animals and a boat sailign down York Road, LOL.
Anyway, need a head count people! So far we have:
Beth
Shelley
Mary
Marie
Cheryl (after the little league game)
Jen
Amy (yes, I will pm you with a reminder as well as email)
Nancy (?)
Who else? Please post or pm me. Looking forward to the get-together. -
I did suggest the Cheesecake Factory because I've never been there and heard it's great. I just called them. They said that if we get there by 11:15 to 11:30am on Saturday, we would probably only have to wait about 40 minutes for a table. They will not take reservations. So ... let me know what you guys think. They don't open until 11:00am on Saturdays. Shell
-
Shelley, I hope you didn't take my post the wrong way! I was just surprised you were back-pedaling! It is very hard to get the right tone across in text but I was trying to be light-hearted. I will be there by 11:30 on Saturday and give them a head count. I will include at least 2 extra just in case we have late-comers.
Is this rain ever going to stop? -
No problem at all. I will do my very best to be there by 11:30am as well. Hope your water-bailing has ended. This rain is unbelievable.
-
Gary might be joining us too I saw him in chat last night and told him about out planned get-together and he asked me to send details. I've never been to Cheesecake Factory and hear it's great - would love it to stay at that location. I'll be there betewen 11:30 and 12:00 so you're not lonely!!!!
-
I'll be there between 11:30 and 12:00 too. See you then.
-
Date is getting close. Just bumping it up.
-
Well, we have about 8-10 people coming to the Cheesecake Factory on the 21st. A couple are coming late so we will just save seats or steal chairs when they get there. Looking forward to meeting each and every one of you! Shelley, i am so glad you suggested this place because i have not been to one of them since the 80's. It was good then so it should be great now!
-
I'm planning on coming. I haven't been to the Cheesecake Factory for quite some time, either. And I've NEVER had cheesecake there. LOL
Jen -
I'm going to have to cancel. I hope you guys have a great time. If anyone has Beth's phone number, please let her know I'm cancelling. I'm going to PM her too. Thanks
-
Amy, got your PM. Boo Hoo, we will miss you! I will pm my home and cell numbers to you. Call anytime!
-
I spoke with Marie earlier. She will be joining us tomorrow. Can't wait to see everybody! Shell
-
OK so where are the pictures??
-
Hi! Beth has the pictures. Hopefully she'll post them soon. There were 8 of us. We had such a wonderful time!!
-
Ok OK OK! I will get pics online today. Computer and internet were both down this weekend. Apparently, my ss really messed up the 'puter by downloading something from
Runescape. He is now banned from the 'puter!
I have pics from the get-together and pics of my hyacinths to post, Lisa. I wish I had your green thumb!
Got to get to my pre-admissions testing this morning. Later I will post pics, I promise! I will also email to all of those I have addys for who attended. I don't have Jenster's or Rockvixon's. BTW, Jenn took pics too! I will have to ask her about that. -
Here you go girls. next time we need to get me out of the front of the pics so I can hide my fat bod behind 2 skinny people, LOL.
Next month we are meeting again at Cheesecake Factory in K of P at noon on May 19th. In the meantime, if anyone nearer to Bux-Mont wants to get together, let me know. I can always go for coffee! I should have gotten a picture of the cheesecakes...they were wonderful!
(left to right) Nancy(nancycl), Mary(marlegal), Shelley(Shelley511) and Cheryl(rockvixen) -
Thanks Beth - they came out great! For those who may need names to go with the faces - the topmost picture from left to right is Nancy (nancycl), Mary (marlegal), Shelley (shelley511) and Cheryl (not sure of sign-on). Next pic, left to right again, Marge (not a chatter), Beth (beth1225), Jen (jenster) and Marie. Either Marie or Cheryl is rockvixen, but I forget which one - sorry!! It was another great outing - thanks for putting it together Beth and Shelley. And the bottom pic with just Mary and Shelley was taken because I'm putting a bracelet on Shelley's wrist that Nancy made - they're beautiful - I got one too!! Will definitely attend future gatherings whenever I can.
Hugs,
Mary
