Beth I live in Cherry Hill and if you want to follow us to the NJ get together, you're welcome to. I'll be going on to NYC or else we could ride together. I'll keep checking to see if anyone else replies for Phila. I would love to meet in the city sometime.
-
OKAY! there are some people from the caht room who are going to meet at the starbucks in Dresher on January 3 at 11 AM. You can RSVP at larryandbeth1@verizon.net or just show up! Looking forward to it!
Beth -
Beth I know there are others who would want to come. 2 years ago we met together. The thread is gone though.
Candyce -
Well, the thread is going to be back!! I am telling anyone I see on here about it if theyar anywhere remotely near Philly!
here is the time and date (correctly this time, due to brain farts, I was looking on the wrong month)
STARBUCKS, SATURDAY JANUARY 6, 11 AM, SUSQUEHANNA ROAD AND VIRGINIA DRIVE.
Love and Hugs,
Beth -
We had a great time together this morning. I think we would all like to have a monthly get-together if possible. I will keep everyone posted! Next time I will take pics!
Love and hugs,
Beth -
I would love to come--sorry I didn't make it this time. I was so disappointed!
Candy -
I know not everyone's schedule will permit them to always meet at the same time. I am trying to see if the Dresher Starbucks is good for everyone or can we change location to somewhere different in hopes we can have more people? If we get a huge crowd we are going to need a catering hall! These are really just informal and when Spring comes we can have a nice luncheon or Sundy brunch or maybe even tea at the Ritz Carlton in Center City! OOOOH wouldn't that be a nice treat!
Anyway, I am proposing February 10 at 11 AM at the Dresher Starbucks. The staff didn't chase us out and we could sit almost privately. Their seating is on the second floor and not too many were about that morning.
No need to RSVP. i will be there barring any major snowstorm. Just a little note, I am now blonde, 15 years older than my avatar and alittle heavier. When you get there, just look for our little group. If it is after 11, look upstairs.
Love and hugs,
Beth -
I'd be interested in meeting with any BC sisters along the Main Line or in Center City. I'm relatively new to the area and I'm not sure where Dresher is! (I also have a horrible sense of direction, which I'm sure won't be improved by chemo brain!).
-
Hi Narberth Mom - You're not actually too far from Dresher. I'm guessing it's about 35 minutes away (if you take the Blue Route). It's in Montgomery County, just as Narberth is. Dresher is very close to Jenkintown and Ft. Washington. We could certainly give you directions. I think we are up to about 5 or 6 people coming to our get-together. We'd love to have you join us!!
-
Hi NarberthMom! Like Shelley said, we are expecting 5-6 people and you would be a happy addition. Please email me if you need directions, larryandbeth1@verizon.net. Next time, we can have a car pool or wagon train out to the Main Line next month. There's gotta be a good place out there too. I will check with my cousin who lives in Wayne. There is always King of Prussia Mall. Hope you can meet us next month.
-
Hi! I was one of the ones a while ago with Candyce. Was thinking about the gang and would like to catch up! I have not been on here a while, so please keep me posted.
re: Wayne area, Chili's would be a fun place, there is the diner next door. -
OK -- I'll see if I can make it. Saturday's are usually tough for me, as my five year old son has swim class and basketball!
-
I live in South Jersey and the Main Line would be more convenient for me also. It seems as though Dresher is better for everyone else though. Let me know. Beth, I'll talk to you when I get home from LV.
Love, Sue -
Well, February will be the Dresher Starbucks on the 10th at 11 AM. No need to RSVP.
Sue, looking forward to hearing all about Vegaas! Especially what stayed in Vegas...nudge, nudge, wink, wink! LOL
I know everyone's schedules are different and we are rather scattered about the area and I want to be able to include as many as possible. So I would like to know how you feel about having the March get-together on the Main Line. I was thinking Eviva's? LOL, only kidding! I liked NarberthMom's suggestion of Chili's in Wayne as long as they can make accomodations for a group. Any other suggestions? My cousin and his wife live in Wayne and she knows lots of places. I will ask her too. She is an RN and has bc pretty strong in her family too.
Get back to me either by PM or email, larryandbeth1@verzion.net.
I will be glad to drive out there from the eastern side of the river and we can always caravan. My car seats 5 comfortably. This is going to be so cool! -
May I also add that jsut because this says Philly get together, if you are from NJ or Delaware or Maryland or will be in the Philly area on the dates we get together, please join us. Just let me know if you need info or directions. I am bringing my camera though!
-
I don't know where Dresher is, is it close to the Turnpike?
I may stop and then continue on to Monmouth County New Jersey to see some grandkids! -
Hi Lynn and I do hope you can join us. If you get off at either Willow Grove or the Fort Washington Exit it is close to that. Email me and we can figure this out, larryandbeth1@verizon.net. The exact address is:
1401 Virginia Drive
Dresher, PA 19025
215-542-1245 is the store number.
It is a fairly easy on and off the turnpike. -
I really want to join you girls, but I'm 90 mins from Jenkintown, so won't be coming this time. If you do a KofP lunch, let me know. Its closer and I love, love, love shopping there! I'm 30 mins. south of West Chester for reference if anyone else is reading and is closer to me.
thanks beth for getting this re-started!
Kim -
Kim, next month we are going to switch to the Main Line area, probably Wayne or K of P. I am not sure which is going to be more convenient. I was thinking about that because there are so many restaurants right in that complex, from fast food to Maggiano's (love that place but it packs on the pounds). Chili's was a suggestion either there or in Wayne (I think it is on Lancaster Avenue). Keep watching or I will try to email and PM everyone. I will definitely put on a poll for March's meeting. Will see you there!
-
Beth -- Turns out that I can't make the February meeting -- too much going on with my son that day. I'll try to make the March meeting, but I start chemo in a couple of weeks, so I can't make definitive plans!

Just bumping up as a reminder!
Saturday, February 10th at 11 AM, Starbucks in Dresher. Anybody needing directions, PM or email me, (new addy) bethpknits-pink@yahoo.com.
We will be meeting on their second floor where the seating is. I already told the staff we would be meeting so if someone seems like they are looking they will direct them. So grab a latte or chai tea and come on and join us. It was a great meet and greet last month.
Shout out to JOYCE: "WE WILL MISS YOU! LOVE TO KEVIN" Hope his surgery went well today. Sending prayers and warmth.
This is not meant to exclude anyone from NJ, DE, NY or MD. Or if you happen to be in Philly please come join us!
Next month we will meet on the Main Line so we can cover the other side of the river's members. If you don't want to drive all the way, my car seats 5, 6 if one is skinny! Like I mentioned before, we can always caravan. I will give you a head's up in plenty of time! -
Hi Beth,
Thanks for the invite to join you all. It sounds great. I have to let you know that my Saturdays are crazy. I have 3 children ages 10, 7 & 5 and my kids are all over the place with sports or something going on. If I can persuade my husband to be Mr. Mom for the better part of the day, I would love to get together and meet some of you all. Now I have to tell you I'm not afraid to drive long distances but my sense of direction has something to be desired. Well also I have my sterotactic biopsy Monday so my mind is elsewhere and just racing. This waiting is freaking me out. Anyhow if I can get details from you, I'll try my best.
Hugs and tears,
Cheryl -
OK everyone, just bumping this up in case some have not seen it.
We will meet Saturday, Feb. 10 at 11 AM at the Starbucks in Dresher on Virginia Drive.
Any questions or need directions, email me at bethpknits-pink@yahoo.com.
See you there! -
Wellll...we met at Starbucks. it was only five of us and I never knew 4 hours could pass by that quickly! We didn't even drink that much coffee. I will download the pics and get them posted, I promise. Mary (marlegal) alrady emailed hers but I am not that quick and I worked most of the weekend.
We have set a date for March 24th, somewhere on the Main Line but have not picked a place. Maybe we can get Joan out during daylight hours and Ishop1 can cross the big bad Delaware River and join us too!! I am so glad to have these new sisters to lean on for support and love and hope I have given to them as well.
Will keep everyone in the loop as much as possible. -
I downloaded and uploaded and copied and pasted!
OUR GROUP!

Nancy and Marge -
Wow, Sorry I missed it. Maybe I will be able to go to the next one.
Joyce -
Joyce, the next one is March 24th place to be determined on the Main Line and there is a spot in my car for you riding shotgun! I am sorry I didn't take pics in January. Hope all went well with Kevin's surgery.
-
Sorry Beth, I have a wedding that day. Oh well maybe in the spring. Kevin is doing well thanks.
-
I can definitely do the 3/25 get together. It's been a long time and I need this more than you'll ever known. There a place in Philly called the Waterfront Inn great food and scenery. Just an idea.

Dear Beth and the other Philly Ladies --
Thank you so much for your concern last night in the chat room. I wanted to let you know that the fever broke a couple of hours later and I feel so much better this morning after a good night's sleep. I'll mention this at my appointment on Tuesday and see what they want me to do next time!
I'm going to have to take a rain check on the Philly get togethers until my treatment is over. I hadn't expected my side effects would be so bad -- I guess I thought I'd be superwoman (LOL) and I keep forgetting that I just turned 49! I have a six year old son. If I'm feeling well on a weekend, I want to be spending my time with him. I'll keep in touch -- and hopefully we'll meet this fall!
