Are we still reporting on Friday mornings?

At this point I'm not on a strict diet maybe loosing 5 more pounds, as long as i don't gain I'm fine with it.

This morning before coffee I was 157.2.

I will keep eating healthy and take my walks. I just cant stop eating summer fruits counting how many peaches I ate etc.........

Have a wonderful day my E-LAB friends.

And like Faith said, Thank You Meece for giving us a place.

If I hadn't started this thread, and had accountablity to you ladies, I probably would still be bouncing around 170.  Although it has been frustrating to not lose for awhile, it is coming here that has kept my eye on the goal.  I just hope I can continue on this path.  We will be traveling tomorrow, and it is so hard to be good in a restaurant!

Yes, Seyla, Friday AM it is.

Just think what we can look like this time next year!!

We gotta think about the long, haul.

    Further down the road.

I know. I'm an instant gratification junkie.

After all that's what food is.

    L-O-N-G Haul, birdies.

and YES. I would welcome any & every to come find us. I promise it would be worth your while.

Last summer I invited an artist painting along the roadside to come spend a couple of nights with us and she did!! We've become great buddies. She's from MI. My hubby thinks I'm certifiable. LOL

We have a second bedroom, the size of a stamp, but it has a trundle bed that makes into a queen size (which swallows the entire room. LOL)

But we're set up for company.

In twosomes would be best...... but we have plenty of floor space, too!

    LOL

Hi, guys!  I am so sorry it took a few days to get back!  You guys are so awesome!  I felt that Southern hug, and holy cow, if that doc told me I was stage 4 after a PAP, I think i would die right there!  Thank you SO MUCH for your hugs and concern.  This is why I love this place...you are all so amazing!

It turned out to be just a bacterial infection, yahoo!!! antibiotics for 7 days!  I am sooooooo relieved!  I was so afraid I was going to start this whole roller coaster AGAIN!  Everything else was normal.  Whew!!!!!

Now I am off to have some of my daughter's bd cake.   White cake with orange buttercream icing and ladybug decorations.  Really cute! Sorry I'm not much help on the losing weight part, hee hee!

I would love to see a pic of the cake, but honest I'd rather not.  I have been very good today.  That decrease on the scale was very good for my resolve.  I went to lunch with my parents and had a salad with chicken on top, and dressing on the side, and when the waitress brought our cookies for dessert, I sent mine home with Dad.  When I got back to work, a coworker had brought two Marie Calendar Pies (She needs E-Lab, too).  And I just stayed away.  I did have one little chocolate chip cookie when I got home.  But that was it.  No huge snickerdoodle cookie, and no pie!!!!

    Aw, Cake, what great news! An infection!! YAY!!!!!  lol  {{BIG HUG}}

Meecie ~ My, what willpower you have! But, that is what we need to do, be strong & hold firm in turning away from a bad choice. I was having a snack (most times crackers) after dinner but I stopped that about two weeks ago when I kept adding on a # or two every week or so. So, no more of that & I've kept at it. I bought some low calorie (70 per slice) rye bread & two days this week I had a tuna fish sandwich with bits of onion & broccoli with lettuce & tomato. No Miracle Whip mixed in, a very small amount spread on the bread so it wasn't so dry.

My DH asked me if I would make him some brownies tomorrow. I will keep my portion choice v.e.r.y. small.

Thank you little birdies for keeping my feet to the fire!   Wink

I started this diet on December 1st 2009. I know Im repeating myself but Im awake and happy.

    I was 173.6 pounds. 6 months and 15 days later I weigh 157.2.

and one good think I don't gain 2 pounds the next day if I had 2 slices of Pizza.

The weight is very steady now and thats what i want. 16 lost pounds later i feel healthier and happier. As long as I maintain and loose few more pounds Im satisfied with the outcome.

Now i will have a lemonade flavor Edy's. I cant find the pomegranate one, that's the one I like the best.

My favorite Edy's is the lemonade with the pomegranate a close second.

You should be so proud of yourself for the accomplishment of the weight loss. We all know it is soooooo hard to do. I myself have been feeling better. I just wish I could get closer to the 140 mark, that is my goal.

    Hello little birdies!!!

Meece - congratulations on your downsizing!!!  Can you update me to 155.5 lbs please.  Hectic week!! An old neighbour died - she was like an honorary grandmother to me - she was 95, what a great age.  Had to go into the city twice for funeral services and ended up eating out.  And DH turned 50 on Tuesday - I think I did well that day food wise but the next day I just couldn't stop picking all day.  Did my Wii every day and got out for a 2 mile, hilly, walk everyday.  DD is home from her trip to Lithuania - I find that there is more food around the place when someone else is in the house.

Anyway I hope you all have a good week - if any of you have any ideas for some different low fat low calorie but filling snacks please share - I'm getting bored with my usual choices.

Thanks everyone for the great thoughts!  I'm still taking the antibiotic and sooooooooo happy not to be planning biopsies, etc.  It's too bad we all understand that too well!

Eating a hamburger at 9 pm...not a good choice.  I will have to get back on the bandwagon tomorrow and give this some effort.  I am down 35 lbs though since my surgery, so that is a good thing!

I wish I had a secret weapon to use to battle the weight.  I don't feel like I am eating much, but feel I have probably gained a couple more pounds.

My bike is out of mothballs.

Yesterday I rode 7.5 miles on the flatest of the flatest routes & was exhausted beyond description. So mentally distressing to have to start over completely.

Then I had a good pep talk with myself and gave me credit for being willing to begin again.

Today I rode 10 miles on the flatest of the flat, but was never in any duress/pain/exhaustion.

At this rate I may be ready to tackle some inclines next week, hills the week after. LOL.

The best news of the day is that my yoga instructor from last summer, is willing to coach me on a 'personal' basis. She is 63 and a 5 year BC survivor and simply brilliant. We have an appointment to start next week & I already 'feel better' just thinking ahead to her guidance & support. Did I mention she's brilliant?

Good going, Faith.  You inspire me.

I have a nice bicycle, but for the past few years it has set because of chronically flat tires.  I may just have to do something about that this summer.

Before I start my morning ritual with the coffee let me get this off my mind.

I fell off the wagon so bad that i need little encouragement from you all.

My weight went up 160.6 and don't blame anything but my garbage disposal eating.

What am I suppose to do now?Frown

Seyla - just saw your post.  I didn't know what to call what I've done but I think it's garbage disposal eating too.

Sheila ~ Oh, geez, I so know how you feel. This past Sat-Wed I felt like a PIG, there, I said it! I was hanging in the 147.2 - 148.6 range. I was soooo disappointed in myself that I felt like crying, almost did one morning after I got off the scale.

I told myself, "You need to do this, Valerie. You need to." The weather here has been just beautiful & I felt so encouraged every morning when I stood on my back porch breathing in that beautiful morning air, hearing the wind in the trees (my fav sound) & hearing those little birdies,(except the crying day - lol) that I could just plain start over. I hate that bloated feeling & I moved about the house quickly, drank lots of water, had a smoothie with no yogurt (less calories) & stayed away from those friggin' cinnamon sugar Ritz crackers. I picked up my medicine ball & while I sat for a moment or two, l used it. Didn't count reps, just did stuff with it.

You have accomplished so much already with the loss you've had for the past 6 months or so, & you are less than you were when we all began this little birdie project. That's wonderful!

One of the best things about life is that we can start over, we can begin anew.

    Fresh.

Breath deeply, forget the past week or so, & move forward. That's all we can do. The past is past. Today is now & tomorrow is a new canvas, to paint whatever we want, to do with whatever we wish.

    This we can control.

    Hi birdies.

No scale in my world today. Honest.

We stayed the night in Milwaukee last night, because we had a pre-dawn flight.

I set my phone for 4:15 and forgot it was still registering Eastern times..... so it went off at 3:15. For Pete's sake. Nothing like a night of minimal sleep losing an hour for in-eptness. LOL

I hope that with the addition of the biking I can stay at my lowest so far..... when I/we travel is when it all falls to ruins. Whatever the outcome of the weekend, I'll be on the bike next week. I'm hoping to start taking the gradual incline up past our fire department next week: whoot whoot!!

Tomorrow is my first 'keynote' in the state of Alabama, so I'm pretty psyched to say the least.

    Think good thoughts!

    xx00xx00xx00xx

I had the neatest experience and it is the most recent topic on my blog. Any ol' teachers out there will be particularly appreciative I think.

    www.rainbowswithinreach.blogspot.com

We each make a difference and that's the important number on the scales. That's the bottom line we need to focus upon.

AND we need to keep moving, drink more water, eat slower, choose wiser.........

    yada yada yada

I loved it - thanks so much for sharing Faith!

Edited to add: My sister is going to teach 1st grade next year after 20 or so years teaching 2nd and 3rd grade.  If you don't mind, can I share your blog with her?

Valerie....Thanks for the beautifully written encouragement.♥ It brought tears in my eyes.

I already took the first step. My friend who lives upstairs brought me a nice piece of chocolate cake with whipped cream. She stayed few minutes and I took 2 bites not to make her feel bad.

The rest is in the fridge next 10 seconds will be in the garbage.

I dont want to loose my good health report that I had last time.

Oh Faith....Sometimes its nice not to have a scale. I love bicycling but not on the regular street with traffic. Its been years since i used one, but i love it.

Have not stopped in for awhile.  Still struggling but not gaining so that is good.  I do not make the best choices so have noone to blame but myself.  Hope all are well, the garden isx going well so hopefully will leave the junk alone and feast of the yummy fresh fruits and veggies that we have.
