Lisa, you and your dad are in my thoughts and prayers. Gentle hugs to you and I'm so very sorry that things are so horrible for you at the moment. xoxoxo
-
Nettie, please feel free to vent and wallow as much as you like. I'm so sorry you had such a bad reaction to the pre-med. You must be feeling so frustrated and sick of everything. oxoxoxoxox

Thinking of you all... and keeping everyone in my prayers, daily.
Hugs,
Wren

Oh Lisa,
Prayers for you and your dad. My darling dad died 8 years ago, unexpectedly, and there isn't a day passes that we don't talk about him, laugh about him and miss him. All I can say is cherish every moment.
Sorry you are down in other ways too. Spill if you feel like it. Or not if you don't. Just remember that day follows night.
Jane - hiya hun! Great to hear from you! It was such a bummer (in every way) to get all prepped for the ahem.. procedure .. and then for it to be abandoned (again!!!!) I seem to have become sensivtised to almost everything so I am to get buscopan (an anti-spasmodic) to take with the prep over 2 days, not 6 hours, and a barium to determine the extent of the problem before surgery. Just such a bloody palaver. Very, very knackered, sleeping up to 12 hours a day. It's just the road to recovery but it is taking forever!!!! How's Blossom? She is sticking close to home I hope. My big cat, The Big Grey (Whisper) is making a good recovery following the amputation - it was a radical op,the whole back leg fron the hip joint - but he is galumping round like a long haired kangeroo. Soooooooo clumsy, but he always was a big not-very-sure-footed-feline. What a time we both have had of late, eh?
Anyoldhow my dears, do take care, and keep in touch.
Nettie xxxxx
-
Lisa, you've had more than your share of ups and downs for a while. I'm praying for a patch of smooth sailing. You've earned it. Clouds of caring surround you. (and your dad)
Nettie, your path is not only bumpy but laden with razor blades! I hope the careful prep and barium study do the trick. Are you certain you are up for company? Make Devin take care of you this time. I'm so glad Whisper is adapting. He's a miracle cat for sure.
Jane, have you finished with the house remodel? You haven't mentioned it in a while, or perhaps I ignored it...lol
Wren, thanks for checking in.
Just got of Skype with my dil Mei. She and grandson Connor are supposed to arrive Friday from China. Mei has pneumonia and looks horrible. Her fever broke partially today, so she thinks she'll be well enough to travel by Friday. I told her she's nuts. Well, in kinder words than that.... We'll see what happens.
Please be well!
Judie

Thanks for the good wishes sisters. Dad seems to be doing better with his new meds. Thank you God!! And yes Nettie...I am enjoying every moment with him...and letting him know just how much I love him and what he has always been to me. I am sorry you are dealing with your issues with your surgery.
Judi..you must be soooo excited to see Conner. I do hope that Mei..is ok with traveling, being so sick.
Jane..as always great to see you here. Your boys sure do travel alot...God love em...that's awesome. To be so young and see the world. Judi..your baby as well...he really is living the life.
I really don't want to spill here...at least not now. But things in my love life have taken a small turn...I am just praying that it's God's will for me to stick it out...and be patient. I really do feel we are meant for one another, but I think Tom is having some hesitations...I think he needs to let go of allot of hurt. We will be taking a long walk in the park...and talking. There have been many tears shed by both of us.
How is our baby Ella doing, Cathi? I hope things are improving at your home. Is Ed feeling better?
Good to see you Wren!
Haven't been on facebook lately. When my spirits rise some...I will visit again.
Love to all my sisters here. I pray for you all!
xoxo

HI everyone!
Well. my cousin's son (and Marie - big respect) had Wee Amy Ellen this morning - and Kez (my wee niece) had Li;ly Rose, at home, attended by her mum a couple of hours later!!! 2 new wee members of the family within 12 hours(ish) Beside myself. Can't wait to see them!
Nettie xxxxxxxxxxxxx

OH Nettie!!! How exciting...the circle of life keeps turning...
-
Welcome to the world, Amy Ellen and Lily Rose! Wonderful names. Congrats to all involved. How refreshing to celebrate new life! How lucky they are to have Auntie Nettie in their lives.

Hi dear sisters, I am baaack, Walt has had 3 hospitilizations in the last few months so I have been crazy with worry and care for the dog/cat while I am with him. He is doing very well, it is his heart. He has a long history of heart disease and diabetes.
I hope you all are well, it is so good to see the familiar names and pix. I am okay, fat, but okay.
Hugs and kisses to you all, Shirlann
-
Glad to see you Shirlann. Sorry to hear about Walt's hospitilizations. hope is is doing fine.
Nettie, Two babies in 12 hours! what a way to grow the family.
Lisa, we will be here to help you with whatever you need.
My DH gave me a scare this past Monday night, although I didn't know about it until Tuesday morning. Long story, short version, he was changing trucks about midnight, collapased with low blood sugar and found about 90 minutes later on the ground between the trucks. He had eaten a pack of cheese crackers about 6 and planned on eating supper after he changed trucks and was going to drive overnight. He is under doctors orders to check his blood sugar level twice a day, record it on a log and fax the log to her every two weeks. At Christmas I had given him a Trucker's Guardian Angel to hang in his truck and he had it hanging on the pocket of his bib-overhalls when he collapsed.
Sheila
-
Oh Sheila! He will be in my prayers, keep us posted. How scary when he is far from home, too! And like you said, you never knew!
-
Shirlann, I'm putting your DH on my hit list too...very scary all around!
-
Sheila,
Sorry to hear about you hb, glad they found him.

Sheila!! What a scare. He definately had a guardian angel with him.
Shirlann!!! So goooood to see you! I will keep our Walt in my prayers. Miss you!
Nettie...2 new babies! I would be in heaven. I LOVE LOVE LOVE babies!! Very special..enjoy..and I love their names.
I had a long talk with Tom on the phone last night. He called. The conversation was good, and he does have some things to work through, and hopes I will be patient. I am very relieved to hear that he just doesn't want me in his life anymore. We are still going to take a long walk on Saturday. He said, he really would rather talk about everything in person. He is such a great man, and I know he has been very hurt, and is going to be guarded. I just have to be patient and reassure him that I will NEVER hurt him. (his wife had an affair and then left him and married the guy) Sat. night, we both attended a wedding on his ex's side (a niece who is his goddaughter) and the ex was there with her husband. I know it's hard for him. They were married for 24 yrs. I think his ex is very selfish, and plays games with him. She was not happy to see him with me. "Sorry sweetie..you can't have both!". I can tell by things she has done, and the way she acts...she is the type that thinks...I don't want you...but I still want you to want me!!
He deserves better....and I will be here to give him all that and more.
Thanks for listening sisters.....I am feeling a bit more happy today.
Love to all!
Cathi....check in....I am worried about our baby Ella. Hope you are doing ok too.
xoxo

Sheila - that was scary re your dh's collapse. I hope he's feeling better and that this doesn't happen again. I think there's too much pressure on truck drivers to meet deadlines. It must be a stressful job. Hugs.
Shirlann - I'm so sorry to hear about Walt's trips to hospital. It's horrible for you both. Hoping and praying that you have better times ahead.
Lisa - It's so good that you and Tom were able to talk about things and sounds as though there will be more discussion to come - that's healthy and looks very hopeful. Poor man. That's rather typical of ex's generally I think. They don't want you but they don't want anyone else to want you and they want you to want them! Weird and complex! Oh, and re the house renovations - hrumph! is all I can say - still haven't finished them. My husband's workplace is understaffed and he can never seem to get more than a day's leave (apart from weekends). The last time he had a block of time of was 7 days in February 2009 so he's tired and stressed. Hopefully, he will have extra staff in the form of part timers in another month. I'm going to make him go on a camping trip with his mates before he does any work around the house. He needs to get away and chill out.
Nettie - congratulations on the births of those two precious babies! I love the names too - so sweet. My very best wishes for things to go smoothly with your next procedure.
Karen - how is Portia feeling after her extractions? When do you move into your new house?
Cathi - hope you are all feeling better. How's little Ella?
Love to you all

Thanks jane and everyone else, he did scare everyone, including the people at the main facility. And he is consistantly checking his blood sugar, not just when the doctor ordered him to. Yesterday, he got the word and last evening he was trading his old truck (07 volvo) in for a 2011 peterbuilt. They had said he would get a new truck before the end of May, but he thought that they were trying to butter him up because they had been pushing him hard the past 3 months. As he was moving his personal items from one truck to the other, several people came by to offer assistance in the move. He was at the main facility and it is more active through the night than the facility where he collapsed.
I ended up and had to buy a new washer yesterday. My washer was about 10 yrs old, I had replaced a bushing 2 times ($75 each time) but this time the motor seized up on it and to replace the motor was going to cost about $200 excluding the labor/service call. I thought it was time I got a new washer. I also have 4 ceiling fans sitting next to the washer waiting for my contractor friend to take down my old ones (that quit last year) and put them up before it gets too hot this summer. With a house, if it isn't one thing it is 10 other things.

So I am not MIA, sorry I haven't posted now in 8 days - but life sometimes does get a bit tooooooooooo busy for even I.
First let me start by saying finally it seems as though everyone is healthy again - hoping to keep it that way. Ed stiill battles a bit with his allergies, but now that our trees have stopped snowing pollen he is better. Ella had a DR Visit yesturday, she still sports a bit of a rash on her face and from time to time runs a bit of a low grade temp, but DR's say not to worry - Of coarse I NEVER DO THAT -LOL
I had my PET on Wednesday - of coarse no results yet, I asked the tech if he saw anything - a fine looking young man (for once) he said he of coarse was not the DR so could not give me any answers, but he did ad that if he saw anything TERRIBLE WRONG he would tell me - he told me nothing. So we'll wait and see.
I read all the posts from my visit, please forgive me if I forget to mention anyone - I LOVE YOU ALL.
Shelia hoping your DH is 100% and that your hot flashes stay away, mine had really been quite well for awhile, but they have gone all crazy again, I am thinking that one of the meds I am taking is causing it, like you Jane I layer, in bed is crazy, we have all the bedroom windows open, plus the ceiling fan and I have a small rotating fan on my side, and I still sweat, throw all the covers on Ed and then when it passes I am freezing because of sweating and try getting mine plus his back to cover with. Doesn't make for a good nights sleep for either.
Judie gosh I hope you are feeling much better as well. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO So happy you are going to see Conner
Nettie congrats on Amy, a precious new little one. Babies are so wonderful.
Lisa my friend never think you have a purpose in the world, family and personal relationships aside look at the lifes you have touched and helped just here on BC.org, I for one and so very happy to have you here in the world and for you to be a dear dear friend. HUGS my friend.
Remember - If you love something set it free - if it comes back to you it's yours.
If it doesn't it was never meant to be.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX TO ALL

Sheila....I understand exactly what you mean about houses, and things needed. My house is in need of several different maintenances! Time...it takes time and money! Enjoy your new washer.
Cathi...so happy to hear everyone is feeling better at your house. I am praying for clear PET scans for you. DO NOT WORRY......remember Worry is for SHIT!!! Love ya Cathi. Thanks so much for the kind words...and uplifting! I value our friendship as well. I really would love to fly down and spend at least a day with you! Wouldn't that be fun?! Well...you spoke words of wisdom. I let Tom "go" so to speak...and he is already on his way back. He did just need some time..and is so fearful of getting hurt. We were together for 10 hrs yesterday. We talked more, cryed and mostly laughed. Things are good again. We will continue to take things slow...I am more than willing to give him the time he needs...because he is so VERY WORTH IT TO ME! Such a good, good man! I absolutely adore his heart! You were right a long time ago Cathi...telling me there was someone out there...and you were right. Now...just let it develope, like I know it will.
Jane...I wish your hubby would get more free time, to spend working on the house...and with YOU!! xoxo
Even though it's cold here in Ohio....I feel very springy today!!
xoxo

Oh yeah...I forgot to mention, the ex was jealous of how I was acting with Tom at the wedding. Seriously?? You left him....so why are you having those feelings?? She was sitting there, with her husband...who is the man, she cheated with. I just don't get that.?? Oh well.

Hiya classy lassies
Judie, will pm you later.
Just to let you all know, Dev is a wee gem. He is on his way to Inverness, which is the capital of the Highlands, some stunning scenery up there and, of course, the home of the River Ness and Loch Ness. Home Nessie makes an appearance for him. We has a blast in Glasgow.
Lisa, so glad things are looking up for you. You have been messed around QUITE enough!!!!
Cathi, everything crossable is crossed for you scan results. Like your techie says, they would have indicated if anything serious presented itself. But it's awful hard to reassure yourself. Great that everyone's health is improving. Good weather helps too. Good luck with the flashes. I have managed to escape that in the main (just about the one bloody thingI have!)
Gilrs, I havent been down to England yet to see Lily Rose (got lots of photos sent up, but saw wee Amy Ellen yesterday. What a wee doll - she has got a massive head of jet black hair and dads upturned nose. Soon as I work out out get pics in will post. All babies are beautiful, but she really is a doll, I think it's the hair that does it - so cute. and she smells devine. Cathi, she also has a deformity in her ear, poss some hearing difficulty too. Got hosp on Wed for scan (barium enema) Which means I won't see Devin before he heads back down south unfortunatly, then Herceptrin on Monday, so will be going down to Blackpool on Tuesday for a few days to see the family and wee Lily. I literally cannie wait! I still think of my wee Kez as 10, she still looks VERY young - she is only 20. She had the baby at home, not planned. She had contractions, rushed to hosp. They stopped and she decided to come home. She was in the bath and they started up again and 2 hours later, Lily was in the world! Diane (her mum) delivered her, so not planned, bu perfect. Poor wee lass needed a lot of stiches though!
Big Whisper is doing absolutly great!!!!! He somtimes forgets he is minus a leg and land on where it used to be and hisses at himself, but aside from that he is in great form and enjoying himself, getting up to as much mischief as a big lazy cat can get up to. We've weathered a lot, my big cat and I, and came though
Well, waiting for the decorator to show up - house needs painted. He was supposed to start on Sat, but I was in town with Devin, yesterday was seeing Amy and sleeping!! I lost all my plants in the hard winter, so going to do a little light gardening, bulb planting, bit of weeding. When my neighbours kids come in from school, the will help me clear the big planters and put in a few plugs.
It's a lovely day here! putting on High sun protection then into the garden! Let the guy get on with prep for painting.
Oh Judie, Frazier is on the tele ( it's a double bill every weekday morning) It's one of my fav programs of all time. This episode is the one where Frazier let slip to Daphne that Miles is in love with her. CLASSIC!!
Godbless to you all, and take care.

Hi all, just a quick trip through bc.org to visit my favorites. My aunt is still in rehab, and has not progressed very much, so we're going to have to reevaluate her placement. It may not be the right place for her. If it looks like she will be in rehab for an extended period, we may try to move her closer to where my brothers and I live.
I'm the closest female relative she has; the next is my cousin, who is her lawyer, way out on Long Island. So when it comes to discussing her condition and what needs she has that aren't being met, she's more comfortable talking about them with me. One of my brothers is her health proxy, but that doesn't really kick in unless she's mentally incompetent.
Anyway, it's something she will have to think about. And we will have to help guide her to the best decision.
Other than that, life is good. I get my nips done on 4/30.
Back to "occasional visit" mode.
-
Nancy hopefully you will find the right center for your aunt to rehab in.
Got a call from my mother last night, my uncle isn't doing well. His wife called Hospice in yesterday. A couple of weeks ago his doctors took a biopsy of the pancreas tumor to try different chemos on it and nothing was working (I think targeted treatment). He has been on several trials and has been stable but lately the chemo has stopped working. He has survived just over 2 yrs with the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, although he knew something wasn't right several months before the dx. If anything happens I won't be able to go up. We wanted to see him when we went up in Feb but the weather prevented us from getting to his apt.
