Judie I am not gonna write a book - I want a dam mini-series about my family -LOL. It sure is overwhelming and draining sometimes,  maybe thats what keeps me going, Gods way of keeping my mind busy and off stupid bootface.

I don't know Barbe why they said Roseola, except what little bit I googled the rash can come either before or after the fever.  Anyway Amanda did end up taking her to All Childrens ER,  she was there about 6 hours,  they drew blood,  cathed her for urine sample, gave her some pedialite via syringe, blood work and urine came back fine,  no ear infections no broncitis etc, etc,  they sent her home. Thus far today her fever has stayed at 100.2 but except for the few ounces of pedialite in hospital she has only drank 6ounces of formula in 2.5 days - she see's DR again in the AM,  she does a half hearted little smile and grin,  but you can tell she does not feel well,  UGH - Hopefully she will just bounce back and its just a little scare tactic. Landen is sounding a bit better with his treatments as well is Jaclyn,  Ed still remains quite cloggy but taking his enhaler and antibiotics as directed. So far I REMAIN  WELL from all this crap -  YEAH.

Okay, so I stand corrected on a whole bunch of issues. Thought rash came BEFORE fever for Roseola. Old ladies don't like apartments painted...can it be done while she's out? See, I'd rather paint a wall or as a last resort, move, before I'd wash a wall.

Wow, Cathi!  When it rains, it POURS for you guys!  I'm so sorry everyone's sick.  I agree that you should wear the masks.  You really can't afford to catch any of that crud!

I'm so sorry about your aunt, Nancy.  I hope she recovers without complications.

Portia had her wisdom teeth surgically removed yesterday.  Luckily, it's Spring Break, so she can stay home and rest.  She's doing really well.  Poor thing was so anxious about the whole thing!

    Love and hugs to all,

    Karen

No harm no foul Barbe,  like I said DR Google said rash could appear before or after fever, anyway hoping that maybe she just has some kind of tummy bug and it will pass in a day or so. Oh yeah I forgot she weighed in Tuesday AM at 15.5 pounds,  but if she doesn't eat she'll be loosing some of those chubs.

Glad Porta is doing well Karen,  wisdom teeth can be a beast sometimes. I haven't been wearing the mask,  I did put one on,  but yuck made me all sweaty and hated it,  lots of hand washing and prayers. I guess colds and flus and what not are just the joys of having so many in a family.

Karen, has Portia started her bruising yet? She might freak out with how bad it gets.... Poor thing won't want to go back to school if she's still "showing".

Sheila, is your LE getting worse as the weather warms up?

Barbe, I haven't noticed much difference in the swelling in my hand, this week has gotten upper 80's all week but supposed to cool off with rain starting tomorrow afternoon.

Karen, John had his wisdom teeth pulled/cut out when he was at boot camp. He said that when he got back to the barracks, he was drooling blood from both corners of his mouth, looked like a vampire and he didn't feel a thing.

Cathi, hope there is a speedy recovery for all who are sick and you don't end up with anything. somebody needs to stay healthy to take care of all the sickies.

Moms always get sick last when everyone else gets better. They go running off forgetting who took care of them when they were down.....sigh. Good luck with that Cathi!

Are you humid there yet Sheila? I'm getting nervous about the humidity this summer and my truncal LE....

right now the humidity is pretty low, this summer is when it becomes unbearable and I need to get the AC in my car serviced before the humidity does get high. By the weekend our highs will be in the 60's. hopefully no frost, but we have had frost as late as late April, the fruit trees and strawberry bushes are in full bloom right now and if it frosts, it may kill all the fruit.

Karen, so glad that Portia's wisdom teeth extraction is over. Did she have it done under local or general? I've had 2 out with a local and my youngest son had all his out a few years ago under local. The worst part is the pressure and all that tugging - the person doing the pulling has to brace him/herself and your head gets yanked back and forth - no wonder a face looks black and blue a couple of days afterwards. Neither my son nor I felt any pain during the surgeries but his were badly impacted and he needed a fair bit of pain relief afterwards. My best wishes to Portia for a quick recovery and minimal bruising.

Cathi - you poor thing - all that sickness in your family! You are such an angel - running around after them. I do hope and pray that you stay well. I hope everyone feels a lot better - soon!

Nancy -wishing your aunt a quick recovery. It's very hard to help someone who doesn't want to be helped. It's sweet of you to help her out and I hope she will relent and let the painters in but you can only do so much if she resists help. Also, you do have my sympathy re that work report. My math ability is abysmal.

Sheila - hope your LE remains under control during the warmer months.

Judie - you have a lot on your plate. I wish you could get some help with that CD task. Sending you my very best wishes for successful surgery. Will that be the last recon surgery for a while? It will be so worth it. I get so sick of my prosthesis - it feels much heavier than my real breast! One day I'd love to have a proper bump there...

My youngest son flew out to the US (New Orleans) last Sunday. He's helping his gf and her sisters relocate a school that gf's older sister set up before she got sick with bootface. He's working hard and loving it. They are going to help look after the sister's 3 young kids while she goes through her treatments. It's stage IV. I'd love to visit him some time - he may be there for a couple of years.

    Love to everyone,

    Jane xoxox

barbe, I needed to vent about that aunt. She's been the weird one for a few years.

Well, after two meetings on it, the report got done...I think. I turned in my part and just hope my boss sees it as OK. The other senior managers had more to do than me and were just as confused, so I didn't feel so bad. Honestly, before the meetings, I was ready to quit. Even after the meetings, It didn't come easily, but I got figures that sound reasonable.

I need to crash tonight and get a good night's sleep. I've lost too much the past few nights.

Well, sisters, since last Friday I have made three trips to the post office (walking...just over a mile each way) and mailed 27 packages all over the US and to Amsterdam, Prague, and Mexico. I called a halt to the sale. I've done enough. My goal was to get some of my son's music collection into the hands of his friends on the quadraphonic board where it will have meaning and bring memories to them. It's been a huge job. I wouldn't have done it for any other reason. Those people have been family to me through the past year. Really great folks. I sold about half the discs I had here, which is about 3% of the total collection. It's massive.

The "fun" part of the project is that he did conversions of quadraphonic records to CD or DVD-A discs, preserving the quadraphonic channels to play on a DTS or Dolby 5.1 system. They're remarkable. He had copies of all of them on spindles, a total of about 1,000 discs. I am cataloging and organizing them and will offer them to family members. The range of music is astounding. I will end up with a lovely music collection. I even have a Pink Floyd "The Wall" poster hanging on my living room wall. It's a large poster, framed, that was in the media room. It's weird, but I love it.

Sigh...sorry to ramble. I needed to do that tonight.

Cathi, I'm so glad that everyone is getting better. I'm constantly sending healing energy your way.

Nancy, I know what you mean about needing to vent. Life would be so much simpler if you and I were in charge, eh? lol

Karen, I hope Portia's mouth continues to heal without problems. It's a big deal! When is moving day? Or did I miss it? I'm kind of scattered.

Barbe, there are no mistaken opinions when it comes to medical things and strange relatives...Sealed  We all speak from our own experience. It is sad to me that someone chooses to live that way, but it is a choice. How is your health doing? I do worry about you and your husband. You are a strong woman. I'm with you on the humidity. And the summer heat combined with the Aromasin is nearly unbearable. I'm sticking with Spring!!!

Jane, what a wonderful son you have. You must be very proud, but wish he'd do his good deeds a little closer to home! My baby boy is now wandering about Liverpool, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland with a backpack and sleeping bag...no tent. It's great to see them become independent adults, but....

Hugs to all, especially little Ella-bug,

    Judie

Barbe, I started seeing the LE therapist last year after Easter. It was excessive raking leaves and using the weedeater over Easter weekend that seemed to touch off the LE in my hand.

Right now at work, orders are extremely slow, it is just before the spring market and orders do slow down historically. Yesterday, one of the programmers asked me if I had some free time, he had a project for me to help him with. I helped him charge and set up the hand-held scanners to be used at market, the other woman in our department usually helps him with that project but she is busy with projects dealing with the consolidation. I have been taking my hand work to keep my brain busy at work.

Barbe...the best local substitute—flea markets. Of course, not as professional, but also more accommodating.

Cathi, you need to catch a break there, girlie. Too much on top of your own worries. I hope the babies come through their illnesses quickly.

In the 17 yrs I have worked for this company, the last 12 yrs in the IT dept, I have only been to High Point Market 4 times. Two times it was after market had shut down to pick up equipment that needed to be brought back to Lenoir and the other times I was with my boss who had meetings to attend and I only saw our showroom and the corporate company showroom, no time to go to see other showrooms.

Cathi, prayers for our little Ella and your whole family. Hopefully they can find out what is causing her fever.

We have A DX off Roseola for Ella????? Of coarse me being the worry wort I am and of coarse not ever fully trusting DR's I will remain leary for a few days,  her face is a horrible red raised mess, the paper  they gave us for the Roseola says the rash normally starts in trunk area then spreads well it's just her face right now,  so I am optimistic that this is all it is,   DR said she is not contagous with the rash she was a few days ago with the fever -  if in fact we are dealing with Roseola. Can't imagine where she would have caught it,  buttttttttttttttttt -

Gosh, Cathi, that rash sure doesn't sound like what I remember, but what do I know? Every one of my five kids had roseola. Their fevers were 102 to 104. When the rash hit, is was not raised and looking like a mess...just a fine, very red rash. Oh, well. I sure hope that's the answer.

I spent several hours in the ER in the middle of the night with a nasty bout of diverticulitis. I've had it before, but never this bad. I swear I was giving birth to a 10 lb. baby. There was no way I was going to wake up anyone to drive me at 3 in the morning and calling 911 was not going to happen. So I waited until an acute episode passed, then walked the four blocks to the ER. The question was UTI, kidney stone, or diverticulitis? A CAT scan gave the answer. Antibiotics will have me right again in a day or two. Bad timing!!! I have so much to do.

Cathi, I think my flashes have finally passed. I will wait and see what happens this summer when the humidity goes up with the Berumuda High sits off the coast. My doctor did blood work in November and proved that I was in menopause so hopefully the flashes have passed.

Judi! why did you wait for the episode to pass?

We had a good rain this afternoon, next county had tornado watch but the major part of the storm stayed south of me. And good report, MY PORCH DIDN'T LEAK! The new roof fixed the leak.

Oooh Judi, diverticulitis! OUCH!!!! It kills me how y'all get a CT scan so fast in the states. It's good in this case. In Canada, they'd give you a pain med, send you home and you'd have to go to your doc and then wait 3 months for a scan. Too late!!!!!

Cathi - what a rotten time you are all having! I'm praying for a quick recovery for sweet Ella and some really good sleeps for all of you. The end of winter always seems to bring out the worst bugs. I can remember my babies having roseola - high temps for a day or so and then the rash but I'm sure it can take different forms.

And poor Judi - you are naughty to walk to the ER by yourself! I've never heard of anyone doing that! I hope and pray you will recover quickly.

Sheila - I hope your hot flashes have gone for good. I think mine will last for ever. I have learned to layer dress and fling things off when I feel one coming on. Roll on winter! Then I can rush outside and use the cold wind to cool off.

Karen - I hope Portia is healing well. The first few days after the extractions are not much fun. Were her teeth causing problems or was it just to avoid problems in the future? I think it's sensible to have them out before their roots get too deep.

Barbara - re health care in Canada - I hope you're exaggerating! Surely they wouldn't send you home in pain! I've heard the Canadian health system is one of the best in the world.

Nettie - hope things are well with you. Please drop by soon and give us an update.

Lisa - how was Arizona? Hope you are feeling refreshed and happy.

Sheila, I waited because I couldn't walk during the episode. I was doubled over. Once it passed I was good to go.

Barbe, the CAT scan was because I had an acute abdomen and a high fever. I would guess that even in Canada they would have done a scan because an abscess is life-threatening. I was a happy camper with the results!

Jane, it's a five-minute walk on flat terrrain. No problem.

Sheila, Laughing for the new roof and no leaks!!!

    Hello my dears

Cathi, whay a bloody time of it you're having! Hope the wee ones (or, as we call them, weans, in Scotland) get better. No update on yourself, I notice..... Putting yourself last I espect, as per usual.

Nanci - why is it up to you to clean up your aunt's affairs?

Judie, hope you are feeling grand. Devin will be up later in the month and looking so forward to seeing him again.

I was at Hosp yesterday for the bowel siggy and banding, but they couldn't proceed beacuse of the reaction I had to the pre-med. You are supposed to take 2 litres of solution in a very limited time frame of 4 hours - and it ghastly tasting. This is in the evening before surgery Anyway i did, and blow up like a zepplin in the bread basket with hellish spasms. So all day in hosp on pain killers and anti spmasmotics. Now got to go for barium emema. in 10 days. WHAT TAXOTERE has done to me. I also have muscular myopathy, which is why I can't walk up hills. Will be getting physio and hydrotherapy to try to recover. Sorry, sounds like a wee pity wallow.

    Take care lassies.

How is our dear little Ella doing?  I so hope she is better. I can just see her sweet little face.

Sorry to hear you have so much to concentrate on Nancy...we will miss you until May.

Jane..your son is a doll!  My trip to AZ was wonderful as usual. I love being there, esp...with my dear sister and her family.

Girls...I am feeling quite low today. I am having some broken heart pains. I won't go into details. I  need some time yet, to see what turns are in my road ahead.

I know this is a horrible thing to think or say...but sometimes I just don't feel like I have a purpose here. Sorry...really down.

Please continue to pray for my dad.  He has congestive heart failure.  All they can do is treat him with medicines.  I was over there on Friday, cleaning and made him lunch.  He seemed a little better.  I need him to be around a really long time.  I don't think I could handle anything at this point in my life happening to him.

I sure am a downer today. Sorry sisters.

I love you all more than you know!!

    Lisa
