She must be REALLY good in bed..

my prayers are with you!

Wicked Barbe!
If the trash says something rascist, stupid or even marginally offensive, don't try to protect her. Pound her into the earth. All of you.
Viewed the pics of Landon in the hosp. What a wee cutie, and a wee warrior. Looks like he has a toilet roll wrapped around his head! So glad he has rounded the corner.
Have a great weekend chapesses.

Barbe....Loved it!!! I hope you are doing better.
Cathi...saw the pics of Landon on FB....so cute!!! Glad things aren't worse for him.
I agree with our sisters here. You are strong...but please allow your family to be there for you. When they find out....that you have been doing what you do along with what you are dealing with...they will be amazed....not that they aren't already.
I had a very relaxing and sunny time in Arizona!! It stinks being back at work.
Ladies I did post this on FB, but I need prayers for my dear dad. He has been experiencing difficulty breathing. He has had 3 tests done. He gets the results on Tuesday. He said, he thinks it's not good news. I am going with him. Prayers are always welcome.
Someone give me Cheryl's facebook name. I am not sure what is going on with her, but Karen said she needs our prayers. I will pray for her, but would like to keep in touch thru FB.
Back to work..home soon. Love to all!!!

Lisa -
Lisa, your father is in my prayers. Please keep us updated.
Cheryl has been posting a lot of political stuff on FB, did she get herself into REAL trouble?

-
Lisa Cheryls son has been missing for a few weeks now, she is beside herself, hasn't really gone into detail about it though. Lisa i'll send you a friend suggestion for her
Barbe I know theres a ton of "political" stuff going on on FB- WOW almost as bad as some places on here, I keep out of it, I didn't see anything from Cheryl though, just about her son. The healthcare bill has a lot of feathers ruffled, I just pray that the best will happen for the USA and let others fight their fights, such a volitile subject, more than I want to be involved in.
-
Hang on...which Cheryl are we talking about? I think I'm mistaking Cindy....
-
Cheryl on FB is our Nanna - she's not been on BC.Org in awhile because of LIFE. FB is getting overwhelming sometimes, I don't see recent posts sometimes unless I click a name.
-
I've seen some posts about someone's son. How horrifying!!!
-
I too try to avoid the political things online, so much can be misinterpreted from writing, you can't hear the inflection in voices when someone is picking or serious. I have been watching Cheryl's posts on FB about her son, hadn't heard if they had found him though.
Still trying to get my roof on the house. Friday night Cindy called and said she had my shingles in the big truck and would be by Saturday morning to get my roof done. She came by Saturday morning with the big truck and had good news/bad news. Good news - she had the shingles in the truck, bad news - only one crew member showed up at the meeting place (she was expecting the full 5-6 people), with only 3 people there, they couldn't get the roof done in one day so they didn't want to start. She left the truck in my driveway so I am holding it hostage until they get the roof done
. She just called and said that they would be here by 9:00 am! I am excited to get a new roof on my house, Been working on this since March 3rd.Sheila
-
Yes Barbe I think you have some names mixed up, easy to do on FB Cheryl Ann Coykendall Knapp is our NANA, she could use our thoughts and prayers, as far as I know her son has not yet been found.
-
The roofing company did come by this morning by 9:00 am and started on the roof. Fortunately I work less than 1 mile from my house and when they needed access to an electerical outlet (about 10), I was able to run home, plug my power cord in the back porch outlet, run it out under the storm door and be back at work in less than 15 minutes
. When I got home I wondered how they got that big truck in the front yard
, the way it looked like they went is narrow between the house and the brick wall next to the drive and would have been a tight fit to get it backed through. It didn't look like they tried driving around the house due to uneven ground on the backside of the house. My mom called me right before lunch and said she needed a ride from the garage back to her house during lunch so I didn't make it home to see how the work was progressing
. It has been cloudy all day and the rainy weather had held off or gone around us.Sheila

I am so sorry to hear about our dear Cheryls missing son. How old is he?? As a mother...can't even imagine the torment she must be going through.
Thanks Cathi for friend requesting her to me. I have not been on FB for a few days.
At work now..leaving in an hour...and meeting Dad at his doctor's appt.
Please continue to pray for good news...or mild news.
Thanks! Love to all!
Jane...miss you girl!
How is the house coming Karen...I forget..are you in the process of moving? I think so.
Cathi..how is Landon?
xoxo

Holy crap Cathi! Come and stay with me!!!!

Get a surgical mask! No, really, keep your distance, wash your hands often, use antibactierial lotion, wash everything in hot, hot water.
Just as Spring was knocking on our door, my family got hit with another problem. My 79 yo aunt (my father's last surviving sibling) fell and broke her hip. I've been dividing my time between work, home and the hospital. Now she's in a rehab center. She never married so my siblings and my cousins are all she has.
I went to her apartment last night to get a few things I thought she'd need. Yikes, she lives like a nun. Except for some very old furniture (purchased by my grandmother back in the 30's...or earlier) and some old photos, there's very little. Everything has that shabby-old feel. I swear, the same slipcloth is on the sofa from when I was a little girl. And the apartment hasn't been painted in decades! She said she doesn't want to bother the landlord (go figure!) There is wallpaper in the bathroom from the previous tenant that is peeling like crazy. She moved to this smaller apartment after my grandmother died in 1976. She's lived in the same building since she was nine.
Anyway, she had absolutely nothing suitable for rehab workouts, so I purchased knit slacks, t-shirts and some socks. Tonight after work I have to go deliver them.
And at work, my boss has asked for me for info for a portion of a report she has to send to her boss. It's all percentages, and dollar savings. My head is exploding. Math was my WORST subject, and on top of that, it's not clear what's being requested or wether I can even get the info from our database. My cover info tends to be buried in the overall book info, so it would mean going through 300+ records individually to extract the dollar amounts involved.
She gave it to me Thursday, was out on Friday, and yesterday didn't have time for me. It's due tomorrow. This was definitely NOT in my job description...I'm a designer, not an f-ing accountant. Sorry, end of my rant, and back to staring blankly at my computer.
-
Thanks Barbe, but I fear it's proably to late for me to escape the germs, everyone was here Sunday, so I was getting, runny nose wet kisses all day (thats just from Ed -LOL). Jaclyn, Ed and Landen have been feeling under the weather sense mid week last week, but everyone assumed they were all suffering from allergies, pollen is HORRIBLE right now, but fevers started kicking in, coughs started getting much worse etc, etc.
Ed never goes to the DR, but I guess Jaclyn and Landen having broncitis made him think a bit. A few years before I met him he ended up in the hospital with pneumonia that started as broncitis. They all sound like they have CROUP COUGHS right now. Yuck germs.
-
Nancy we were posting at the same time, sorry about your aunt, and the crappy work report you have to do - I was not good at math either, good luck with all.
We actually have some surgical masks Ed uses for this or that, I'll be as careful as I can, but I think for sure the exposure has already been a lot. We shall see, taking some extra Vit C this week . I had a horrible year last year with colds , this year has been great so far (hoping to keep it that way) I always was amazed at myself, I could be around the worst colds/flu's and never catch them for years and years I was COLDLESS, good immune system I guess, if there was a tummy virus though I would always get that.
-
wear the mask Cathi!!! when it rains it pours..you poor thing!
-
As Ole Blue Eyes Said "THATS LIFE" I just got back from Amanda's watched Landen for a bit while she took Ella to peds DR, right now they have no clue whats going on with her except she does not have broncitis,, her fever is still at 102, she has not eaten anything in about 12 hours, DR mentioned Roseola but really doesn't think so - no rash, anyway she is supposed to keep an eye on her for the next couple of hours if she still does not eat and fever does not brake with Tylenol DR gave her she has to take her to All Childrens
-
Cathi, why the hell would he think Roseola without the rash!!! It could be SO much more. Doi!
Nancy I am angry for your aunt! The landlord took advantage of her! I'm sure there are laws in your state about how often an apartment must be painted! Can it be done while she's in rehab? Wouldn't that be a nice surprise. And so sad to know she lives like that....doesn't anyone visit her? Your Dad????? She must be so lonely. Maybe a new paint job would put a smile on her face!

-
barbe, my aunt has always been kind of stand-offish. She would often refuse invitations to family holiday dinners saying she had made other plans.
The last few years, she's been more amenable. But she doesn't usually invite us up to her apartment so we really haven't gotten a look at it in a while. I think the last time I spent any time there was when she invited our family to a Sunday dinner and served us deli cold cuts. And had a pint of ice cream to serve for dessert. Now remember, I have four brothers (and two sisters, but they're moot in this discussion). The amount of food she had to feed us would barely satisfy one of them. Some things we take for granted that everyone knows just don't occur to her. That must have been about 20 years ago, because my mother was still alive.
Last Fall, just about when my father died, my sisters and I took her out to lunch. That was the first time since then that I saw her apartment, and only because she was finally feeling mortal and wanted to show us where she kept things like her checkbook and other records. But we only got to see the foyer.
As for the landlord...it's not his fault. My aunt just doesn't want the bother of having the painters come in. For all he knows, she's done the work herself. He only HAS to do it if she asks. I'd say she's close to being a recluse, except I know she gets out to a class, and dinner with friends.
My weird relatives...
-
Wow Nancy, you've been hit hard. Family responsibilities can be overwhelming, especially with relatives like yours...
I understand the trying to be an accountant when one is not even close to that deep inside. I'm trying to juggle numbers in selling a bunch of music discs. It's certainly head-spinning!Cathi, I can't believe your family. You must write a book. It must be a comedy so that we won't all cry through the whole thing. XOXOXOXOXO
Barbe, I'm with you. Even though she is reclusive, there is normal maintenance that should be done. I'll bet she'd have allowed it if he insisted. BTW, the course of roseola is high fever, no other symptoms, then on day 3, the child is suddenly cured and the rash appears. So it is something that can only be diagnosed in retrospect.
I'm going to post a couple of links that I feel are important. There is a contest through Pepsi to fund good ideas. It's genuine, and there are some great ideas competing. I'd like to ask people to vote for two (you can do both...they are in different categories and you can vote for up to 10) Go to the web sites and read about them and vote for them if you think they are worthwhile. The adolescent center one is from two of my nephews, both MSW and have worked with at-risk youth in several capacities since they were in their 20s. I think it is a good program. The cancer one looks like a promising treatment.

I'm currently quite overwhelmed with trying to finish up the CD task I started last fall then crashed and burned and had to put it off. I've also finally rescheduled the surgery I cancelled last summer because of our heat wave. It's replacement of implants and touch-up of bumps and scars. Anybody have an extra body to lend? Mine's shot and I have a lot to do!!!
Love you all....
-
Nancy, your aunt sounds a lot like my great-aunt Alice. She owned her own home, old farm house that had been in the family for years. She was born in that house in 1918. She was put in a nursing home 6 or 7 yrs ago and when the family went in to clean up her house, they found the same thing that you found Nancy. She wouldn't let the family do anything to the house, my uncles had arguments with her to fix the chimney when it was not safe to use.
