I have been trying to be good today. Oatmeal, and apple and 3 ounces of tuna with basil and sun dried tomatoes and 6 crackers. I am still under 400 calories, and feel great. Even though the scale isn't going down in big numbers, I feel that I will be happy the day after tomorrow when I weigh in. I have an Onc visit tomorrow so I will have to step on her scale, fully clothed. That is always disturbing. Not that I would rather be unclothed, but that the scale always looks bad when you have 2-3 pounds of clothes on.
Oh, I forgot...The receptionist had Andes mints on her desk and I ate one, which is about 26 1/4 calories. I might just be over the 400 mark now. But I am being honest here and with myself. If I slip, it's me that did it!

Carolina: we are in the midst of our long car drive and I got the book off the shelf, before walking out the door.I've been reading it out loud to DH.Thanks for the prompt.walked the treadmill again early this am.
Backing away from the m&m's.
Best wishes on the syrgery. Sending healing thoughts. -
So disgusted this week at weigh in I didn't loose any weight. Officially I gained 2 lbs even though I am in 2 pants sizes smaller. I am "bloated and a constipated", sorry if TMI. This diet is doing a number on me. I can't take correctol or milk of magnesia either, the magnesium in them makes my legs swell up like a balloons. Even with all the salads and fiber drinks I'm drinking I'm still not having any luck. I don't know what else to do. I'm feel miserable. Yuck!!!! They gave me some colon cleanse tea to try so guess I'll give that a try. If it doesn't work I'll be buying some senna even though I didn't really want to go that route. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Hopefully this will change my weight. LOL!
Valjean - the Glucosamine Chondritin seems to be helping some already. Thanks
Best Wishes on lthe surgery!!

All it takes for me to "fix" that problem is to be under stress. Everything seems to move faster then. I would be very happy if I weighed the same, but was smaller. I want to lose thighs and upper arms.
I ate 1/4 of a cupcake at break. Why do they bring in the junk? (That, by the way, looks and tastes so good!)

Renee ~ This may be TMI, but...Sorry to hear about your "back up dilemma". You know what sort of gets things moving for me was drinking bottled spring water. A year & a half ago when I went on a few days vaca with my brother, all I had was bottled spring water, didn't want to drink the hotel water. From that hotel, I went on to my DD's house & continued pretty much w/the water on the way there & when we went out shopping, I alway had a bottle with me. Well, let me tell you, I had no problem in the bathroom. Then, one time last year & again this past month, I drank the same bottled water on my 7 hour trip north & did not have a problem, it was even on the really loose side. I usually fill my own 32 oz bottle here to take with me, but decided not to & to just grab those bottles. I figure it had to be the water, I don't have that happen here at home or when I fill a jug of water to take with me. You probably think I'm crazy, maybe I am. I just know I will not be doing that again, I'll take my own water or just have a few sips, not a couple of bottles!
I have found here at home when I get that way, (don't we all at some time or another), I make a smoothie out of water, frozen strawberries & blueberries, a couple of teaspoons of a favorite Crystal Light, & maybe a couple of Tbls of yogurt. I have no problem the next day!! Hope this is not TMI, just a few thoughts coming from a crazy lady! Maybe if you up your water intake, that might make a difference.
I sinned today, had some Pringles, the horseradish flavored ones, they are so good!!
I had one of those WW Brownie a la Modes - YUMMY. Have the peanut butter cup one to try in a couple of days.
Meece ~ Stress also "fixes" that for me. I make several trips to the b-rm before & after an IV is hooked up. Let us know how your Onc visit goes.

My family is away on vacation and my plate has been full...literally and figuratively...for the last few days. I have had dinner dates to catch up with my friends and ate far too much and not wisely...I am not even going to get on the scale! I know I had to have gained at least 4 lbs...I miss my family and am so excited that they will be home tomorrow!
Have a GREAT night!

TRYING TO BE GOOD!!! ST PATTY' DAY... must remind myself of bikini n 2 months... perhaps 1 more girl scout cookie first?!?
-
Faith - I may go looking for the book this weekend. I need motivation to keep up the lowfat diet.
I sinned last night and enjoyed a large portion of corned beef and cabbage. And unfortunately, there's a lot of it left in the fridge. Thank goodness DH is back from his business trip and can help DD finish it before I get my hands on it.
I'm trying to be motivated today, since weigh-in is tomorrow!

Okay, I've been a real good girl all week but this weekend is my 26th wedding anniversary. I just know I'm gonna blow it. We are taking a trolley tour of old Marietta, graveyards from the civil way, Southern plantations and such. Then we are off to a steak house for dinner which is located with in walking distance to my favorite.......................BAKERY!!!! UGH!!! Can you all come down and form a human fence around the bakery? Perhaps they have sugar free, carb free, low fat desserts, ya think? So glad weigh in is on Friday not Monday. Sunday I plan to walk/run like a mad woman. Hopefully it will help some.
-
Happy Anniversary Paulding Mom! Enjoy your weekend, we all have to have some fun eating occasionally (you too Michelle - it's so nice to catch up with friends over lunch or dinner).
I sinned last night too - I had two pieces of deep dish pepperoni pizza and I ate crust and all. Also, almost no exercise other than a couple of short walks. I'm hoping to do much better today.

Hi Meece, I just came across this topic and would like to join all of you. I was at my oncologist appointment yesterday and weighed 190, the most I've ever weighed in my life. I have gained 25 pounds since starting aromasin. I think it has been partly feeling depressed, which triggers my eating, and partly all the joint pain, which makes me not want to exercise. Today feels like Spring though and I am feeling hopeful enough to join all of you. I need to lose 80 lbs.
On a happy note, I have made it to the two year post diagnosis mark and don't have to see the oncologist again for 6 months!
-
Hi Meece,
I would also like to join this group. I don't get to post very often because I am not allowed to at work. I have gained 45 pounds since I was diagnosed. I gained during chemo. Gained after radiation and have been gaining like crazy after starting Arimidex. I have never weighed so much. I have lots of joint pain and feet problems. I am hoping with it getting warmer I will want to start walking. Put me down as 215. I would like to lose 75 pounds. I am the largest on on here. GREAT! ha
Thanks!

Good morning.
Maybe we should make an exception and don't count as a SIN ........
ANNIVERSARIES
BIRTHDAYS
SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS
VACATIONS (I'M NOT PLANNING TO DIET)
HOLIDAYS ( WITHOUT ALL YOU CAN EAT EVERY DAY)
What do you think ladies?

I can go for the "Sin Exception" list. That will help!
gandl ~ Congrats on 2 years & welcome.
shortgirl ~ Welcome. We do not care how much weight the other sister has to lose. We are here to support each other in this quest to get healthy. That is the bottom line.
Happy Anniversary PauldingMom. I would love that trolly tour, I love history. GA would be a wonderful place, full of historic buildings & cemeteries, to tour.
-
-
I love the sin exception list! Perfect. So far one misdeed today - a homemade peanut butter cookie with lunch! Not too bad. I think I'll quick do some lunges and push ups and a quick walk around the building at break to make up for it.
-
Well, this weekend will be a great challenge for me. My son will be home tomorrow from Afghanistan for his two week leave. So my whole family will be together for the first time since last May! There will be much merriment to be had. I will try my hardest though. Wish me luck as a newbie!
-
Sheila - I love the SEL (Sin Exception List).
Shortgirl - I think that qualifies as a Special Celebration.
I ate a terribly sinful lunch today, and my birthday is Saturday so there will be merriment and birthday cake to indulge in. I'm hoping to walk tonight, since I haven't exercised much this week.
Crossing my fingers for tomorrow's weigh-in...
-
I didn't sin this week except handful of almonds for snack.
I'm OD with walking and it feels so good when its 72 outside.
As of today didn't loose an ounce yet. Doing everything I possibly can do.
shortgirl..Hi and Welcome to our E-LAB group. Your son coming is double celebration
Omahagirl....I was feeling the same way at some point. Now I'm a skinny elephant. lol
I am saving all my SEL for my vacation which includes mothers Day and my Birthday.
I'm so glad we have each other.
Sheila
-
Does it have to be my own birthday?? Can I sin for all of your birthdays too - I wouldn't want you to feel I wasn't celebrating your birthday - huhhuh????
Shortgirl - when I started trying to become a smaller me I was 235 lbs that was last August - it can be done!!!
Welcome to all the newbies.
Well I'll be weighing in a few hours but won't get a chance to post it until about this time tomorrow again - I think I've lost the forward momentum at the moment - typical!!! For the past 8 months I've lost an average of 2lbs a week and then just when I sign up to this thread I lose the plot.
I did notice thast my little Wii Fit guy use to log 270 cals lost for 1 hr of step but now (having lost weight) it's down to 250 cals for the same exercise - I guess the amount of calories used depends on your weight. How would the M & M's fit into that scenario??
Good luck for tomorrow everyone!!
-
Ainm...Since my birthday is falling on Mothers Day. May 9 I was gonna say thats special occasion, since you already had your Mothers Day Celebration.......
-
Oh thank you Seyla - had my birthday and mothers day all in the one week - so I'm all sinned out!!! I'll start to train up for May 9 (you share a birthday with another of my friends) and I'll sin really well to help you celebrate!!
-
Sheila,
I don't think almonds are sinning. According to my trainer (who always yells at me for something), Almonds are a good source of protein and good fat and supposedly can help lower the bad cholesterol.
I found this information about almonds on a website http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=20
So I say go for the almonds without guilt (just so they're in moderation). Of course this opinion is from a woman who is sitting at the computer drinking a rum and diet coke so you might want to take that consideration -
suzwes..I used to eat the whole bag in one sitting.
I guess thats what I was thinking, I only had maybe 20 almonds.
Im not a sinner. Thanks Suz
-
Welcome, gandl and shortgirl. I will add you to the list right away.
I just got back from my onc visit. And at least I felt good that when I stepped on the scale there, fully clothed (sandals, capris, top and under garments) I was 1 pound less than what is on the scale at the top of the page! Maybe, just maybe I will keep it to that by tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed.
Dh is taking me away for the weekend through Monday, as Monday is my Birthday. I will probably need to apply the SEL, as we will be eating out 8 meals. I will still try to make good choices. The 400 calorie smoothie for breakfast today was not a good choice, but it was comforting for my stress.
-
Meece, congratulations on being a pound less with clothing (I always figure clothing weighs a couple of pounds right?)
Have a terrific birthday weekend, sounds lovely and well deserved.
Goodnight ladies!
-
Well, it was pretty light clothing, but still. Usually I tell the nurse what area to set the scale and it shows up more than I expected. This time it was three pounds less than I told her.
-
10 hours and counting............
Good Night All!
-
Still stressed so maybe dinner won't have much time in my system to add much weight.
-
Oh how the mighty have fallen...I am on carb overload...
I have come to the realization that just like with smoking, I cannot have just one (ie refined sugars, processed grains and white flour products). Since I have had my cake (and ate it too!) I have been craving and over indulging in carbs (4 slices of pizza at lunch today). So starting today NO MORE CARBS! I just watched a show on PBS "Change Your Brain, Change your Body"...the concepts make total sense and I am going to buy the book on line. All I know is I need HELP to make this life style change, eat healthier and stop sabotaging myself. Sighhhhhhhhh...
Can I deduct lbs for my new foobs??? They are WAY heavier then the originals...I didn't even lose one pound when I had my bilat mx and at 650 cc's each, I was told the total weight is approx 2.3 lbs
