For Salmon Lovers...............
-
Before I forget: Friday VERY preferable in my mind. LOL.
You guys are seriously prompting me to make 'little' decisions well........ hopefully they will add up over time. Got my two 35 & 30 minute walks in this morning.
Then a gal came to take me shopping (while our fellows golfed) and we seriously logged quite a few more 'steps' -- maybe not aerobic, but steps, none-the-less.
They are really onto a no carb manifesto, so we skipped our normal sweet potatos tonight and made a gigantic salad instead. Whoohooo.
It's great to have friends who make making good choices easy.
My helpful idea is to substitute the V8 veggie juices for pop/soda consumption. They make a light version, as well as a diet version.....with all sorts of peach/mango yummies.... and supposedly there are servings of veggies in there(?) Had some this afternoon on the rocks, cut with half a big glass of green tea.
Keep up the good work everyone. Friday is just around the corner.

The last couple of summers my DH has caught a ton, should I say 'boat-load' of salmon that he then vaccuum seals & freezes, so we have 'fresh/frozen' salmon for the entire fall & winter.
That picture looks soooooo good.
-
We had halibut last night and it was a good change from beef.
As a reward for me being good at my doctor appointment today, DH took me to two Japanese Gardens and a bonsai nursery.
The first garden is created on a hillside so there was quite a bit of stair climbing and inclines. The second was mostly flat except for several flights of stairs to get to a viewing tower. But we did a lot of waling. Not aerobic but a lot (Just like you, Faith).

Friday weigh in is good for me too!
Meece - thank you for the oil free version of spinach chips...I will have to try!
Valjean - I have a co-worker who has type 1 diabetes and she knows alot about which foods breakdown into sugars and carb's - I have been going to the www.dlife.com website for information on which veggies and fruits are low in carb and which are high...there are also recipes to help learn how to cook healthy and it breaks down carbs, saturated fats, sodium and calories.. I have friends who have let me borrow books but most vegan recipes call for soy/grains/tofu (I really do not like tofu). I am still on a huge learning curve...
I had training seminar out of town, packed my own lunch and ate it while everyone else had catered mexican food. My goal is to see how much cutting back on carbs helps with maintaining/losing weight, add walking (haven't started that part yet) and learn healthier eating habits and then I can treat myself to an occasional night out or a special treat...If I can stick to this for a full month (with rare treats) I hope to better gage what works and what doesn't...
Shelia - yummy picture AGAIN...I got to stop logging in to bc.org just before bed...
Hugs to all!

Sheila ~ Yummy salmon & asparagus. We grow that fabulous veggie in our garden & have tons every spring.
Michelle ~ Thank you so much for the link. I will check that out as soon as I leave here. I lost weight (7-8#'s) a couple of years ago by cutting out most carbs, but when I added them back in, I gained most of the weight back. I do try to limit them now, am not a big bread/pasta eater anyway. I really did miss garlic toast & bread sticks! I try to stay away from soy, it is in soooo much stuff these days, vitamins, too. I also do not like tofu.
On my earlier post I forgot to mention, YAY! (ha ha), that my work-out clothes still fit! Seriously, did the pro skier, brisk walk for my exercise this morning. Plan to do the same tomorrow & Friday. Usually skip weekends - DH home, laundry, other things.
Night ladies!
-
Sheila - That salmon looks yummy! I may have to re-create that, as salmon and asparagus are two of my most favorite foods.
I went to our neighborhood game night last night and there were tons of goodies. I knew that I'd have to be accountable to all of you, so I munched on veggies without dip and boiled shrimp. I did have some alcohol, though.
Trying to be very good today, since we have our first weigh-in tomorrow!
-
I am trying to be good. More GS Cookies on the table today. I had one peanut butter sandwich cookie, and am now having an apple. I will look for a nice salad for lunch, or so my plan goes.
-
I think I should change my signature.
Friday sounds good to me to. Oh snap! That's tomorrow! off to the treadmill.
-
Parked further away from the shops today and got a mini walk in and then chose a car park further away from where I was heading to a meeting and got another mini walk in!! Well I just hope it will all add up.
My little Wii Fit guy keeps asking me do I do any other exercise so now I can say yes, I took two mini walks!!! I hope he'll take it into consideration tomorrow when I weigh in!!
Hope it goes well for everyone on the scales tomorrow!!
-
Another beautiful day. Went for a walk with my DH when I got home from work. It is nice to see all the bulbs starting to peak up and the pansy's starting to green up. Two walks today not bad for me!! What an inspiring group. We are planning on going out to dinner tommorrow night, I will fill up on salad and then crab legs, if you go light on the butter I think these are lower in calories right?

Walked the "standard" subdivision loop, which is a mile. (Can add on different loops for longer walks.) Evening plan: Watch American Idol, do some sit-ups. My belly fat is starting to get scared now.
-
I think a plate of vegetables tonight might be all I should have. I had a tri-tip sandwich for lunch today with DH. No mayo, just a wee bit of BBQ sauce and a cabbage salad, but I feel BAD!
-
Walked the Atlanta Airport twice. Flight cancelled. Got to the motel (yukky motel) and walked 1/2 mile to the family dollar to buy necessities for tonight and 1/2 mile back. Lots of walking, lots of stress so had to have two drinks with dinner. No weigh in for me tomorrow - I'm just hoping to get home and get some healthy food in my body this weekend. I think I can join elimar and do some sit ups before bed maybe my belly fat will up and run away with your belly fat!
-
Today I was craving every food group you can think of.
It wasnt pleasant. I didnt sin. I just finished watching American Idol.
I had a tall glass of water so I dont feel any more hunger. I had dinner.
I wanted greasy food today
-
I want greasy food too...and donuts...
woke up this morning with no voice...I have been fighting a head cold all week and today it got the best of me. I really wanted high carb comfort food, went to doctor instead and got some antibiotics. Came home and made spinach pesto, fish taco's and prepped tomorrows stuffed pork loin...now I am too tired to eat
-
Fruit is served..............
-
I haven't been a good girl at all. I did have a salad for lunch, but the rest of the day, oh well, I will just have to get some will power. Does anyone know where I can buy some?

I am still doing really great on my diet... I lost another 5+ lbs this week (they weigh me on digital scales) so all total I've lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks!!!! My new weight is 167 lbs Yesterday I actually got into a pair of jeans I haven't had on in 1 1/2 yrs. I was sooo happy!!! It definitely made me even more motivated, though I have to say, today at work they were serving the resident's and staff devil's food cake and I love, love, love it! Oh how I wanted a piece, but will power awon out!!!
Seyla888 - yes I love American Idol we definitely need to talk about it on the other thread!!!
Renee
-
Wow, Renee, you go girl!!!!!! And, what willpower you have!
I don't have a good feeling about my weigh in tomorrow...hope I'm wrong. I had no sweets today & I did my workout this morning, at least I can say that.
If that plate of fruit looks empty, oops! My fingers are a bit sticky... sorry I didn't share.
(I think I'm the only one around here that does not watch American Idol)
-
Hi ladies! Glad to hear your success Renee! Keep it up girl! So, I have had a good week, watching what I eat and then tonight, I have a girlfriend over for dinner, I only eat half of what DH made, BUT the wine... I cannot resist! Lets see how weigh in is tomorrow, I most likely will weigh in tomorrow night as I am trying to work off this wine tomorrow day
We have to make a pack, we will not feel guilty for the days we overindulge... life is too short!
Good luck to all of us!!!!!!
-
Valjean, I don't watch it either so you are not alone.
I had every intent to eat well last night, bt DH went an brought home burgers. I put mine on my plate, cut it in half and put one half in the fridge. And I didn't get it back out. But I should not have had one at all. We need to go grocery shopping tomorrow so there is something better to eat around here. Will weigh in when I get out of bed.
-
Good morning everyone,
Valijean and Meece, I do not watch AI either!
Mimi-WOW! Good for you. I did try on a pair of my jeans yesterday that are a bit too snug, hung them back in the closet and thought I will try them again in a week......can so relate to the joys of clothes that are no longer too tight.........
Pat
-
I wish I had that luck. I will work harder this week. Still not out of bed to weigh in.
-
GET OUT OF BED, Meece!!!! Too funny! Seriously, half a burger is better than a whole one.
149.4# for me this morning. Off to workout. UGH!!
-
I may stay in bed all day if it postpones weigh-in.
-
After all, it is only 5:30 here.
-
And how will you go to the potty?!?
-
Great-I gained a pound. 167 I'm not going to count it this week. We had lots of company and I had to cook for everyone. It's so hard to cook and then NOT eat it. Stress was pretty heavy this week. Going to walk it all off this weekend.
-
So, Paulding do you want me not to post this week for you?
Valjean, I guess you are right, but i'll use the guest bath, it isn't near the scale.
