I've been having a problem with depression this last week after going off and back on tamox during reconstruction. (Okay, I ran out of effexer too) I shared this (while sobbing) with my walking partner and she tried to fix everything. "Get up in the morning..... eat right.... be positive (don't get me started on that one) and my favorite..... we all have bad days." Grrrrrrr. I HATE THAT.
I actually told her that she didn't know shit..... and then some. Fortunately she's a very good friend and has forgiven me. It's taken me 45 years to learn how to speak my mind and it feels good. Especially when you're depressed.
Anyone want to walk with me tomorrow?

I'll walk with you!
Well, forgive my naivete, but isn't the point of a support group (whether an online discussion board or in person) to be able to express our feelings? To say, I didn't feel that way but if you did that's OK too? Silly me for thinking that.
Gabrielle, welcome to this board. Say what you like, what you feel, we'll try to help you.
I don't think the problem on the other board was that the women didn't feel upset because they had lumpectomies or single masts. I hd a single mast and went through a very difficult time a few months ago. I started a thread on it, and there are other threads similar. I got tremendous support here, which helped ease my feelings. Plenty of women with lumpectomies feel miserable about the situation sometimes, too. I think the problem with the other board was that no one was allowed to feel differently than the "official" way of feeling.
Your feelings, your emotions are valid. No one can tell you differently. Renee's friend didn't invalidate her feelings, she tried to "fix" them. Not what was needed for Renee but not belittling either. Big difference.

aka...in my case its the lack of estrogen!!!! I figure if I don't like what someone has written, I don't have to read it....just stop and move on.....not like haven't to listen to a live conversation.....this journey is sooo personal and we all have different feelings and if we can't share here with each other, then who can we share with...if we don't agree, just agree to disagree.....and it sounds like all of us on this thread think the same way....share your feelings....and I couldn't agree more....sometimes there is nothing better than saying F you.....it may not be polite and may be extremely rude, but sometimes it just fits the bill...you girls are the best.
