KissLike Pat, it is warming up here in Tampa.  Close to 60 tomorrow and up in the 70's for the weekend. May have to get in the pool.  Loved the coconuts.  Just what my tissue expanders felt like before I got my new girls.

Thanks - the foobies must be Dolly Parton-like to make my stomach look smaller!  I mean I could lose weight but what would be the fun in that!

We were at 70 today.  Supposed to have a 30% chance of rain tonight.  I took some pictures of the beautiful day, but haven't downloaded them yet.

Kathleen, those look like armor.  Maybe that's the protection from BC that we need.  Have they done a study of Luau dancers to see if they have less chance of developing cancer?

Hey Meece - finally!  California is returning to its natural temperatures.  Hearing about California and Florida I kept thinking this was really crazy - cold?  These states are supposed to be warm!

As to bc - we all have to move to Japan - I read somewhere that Japanese women have the lowest incidence of bc - which they are attributing to their diet.  You just know it would come back to food!

    Good morning everyone!

Maybe we should wear foil bras to reduce radiation into our breasts.

The dark clouds are beginning to roll in, hopefully we will get some more rain from them.

Too many puddles here to go on a nice walk.  But the weather is pretty nice despite the clouds.

Central Maine was beautiful today--clear, sunny, good stiff breeze to move the flags around, almost got up to 20 degrees!  Back "below the donut"  tonight.  Going to warm up at the and of the week--supposed to warm all the way up to the low to mid 30's by Friday!  Yeah January thaw!

Mid Michigan was gloriously sunny all day and up in the mid 30s!  My outdoor solar lights were bright and shining when I just drove up to the house (the first time in quite a while).  I'll keep sending it east Native Mainer.  I'm glad California and Florida are finally warming up.

I intentionally did not wear my coat this afternoon when I left work because I want warmer weather to come back.  Possible rain this weekend, but we really need it.  Parts of my county have had MAJOR sink holes this week.  Reason?  There was so much pumping of water to try to save the strawberry crop, it caused many, many sink holes.  Interesting phenomena here in Florida.

M-I have not lost my boobs and I gotta' get me a pair of those anyway!! I need "warmers" as temps on the Outer Banks are 29 degrees. NC bluebird skies and the ocean is rockin! I bundled up and went out looking for seaglass today with a good guy friend. I had to drive his truck on the beach because he was scared of getting stuck in the sand (as usual). Found tons of glass and a new shipwreck from about the 1820's has washed ashore. Got to walk the planks-arrgh, maties! What a blast as the wreck was huge. I know I was a pirate in a past life. Great day to end real life on and begin chemo tomorrow-UUGH! Scared to death of the idea of chemo (long term effects). More scared of the isolation it might bring with loss of white blood cells and possibility of catching coodies.I am already immune compromised, have cabin fever and need to bust for Belize! Blessings to all

It never did start raining again today.  Maybe we will get some tonight.  We really need the rain and snow out here.

As I sit here typing, my fingertips are frozen.  No, my house is a comfortable 70 degrees, but my hands are always cold.

Reporting in from Virginia.  It is 25 degrees this morning but is supposed to get into the thirties.  It is absolutely gloomy out there today.  We are getting rain all weekend.  Lovely.  With all that snow we got plus rain our water table must be sky-high.

StillVertical - they tell you it could cause this or that but they forget the current climate - i.e., without the treatments you won't be around to develop anything new.

Everybody - think of it this way, in the cold you'll last longer-flash freeze.

Kathleen, you are right, things last at least three times longer in the freezer, so with this cold weather, we should live to be 270!

The chance of rain has passed, with nothing.  It is supposed to be high 50s today.  I really love the rain and am sad we didn't get any.  Next chance for rain is possibly Monday.

Reporting from the NC foothills, this morning still cold (20 degrees) but looks like it will warm up nicely to upper 40's. A lot closer to our normal temps (low 32 high 50) than we have had in the past 3 weeks. There was a father drowned yesterday in a pond in Wilkes county (just up the mtn). He was walking with his 10 yr old and decided to go onto the ice ignoring the sign put up by the park service warning do not go onto the ice. Too many people think that because it has been so cold, the ice on the lakes/ponds are thick enough to go out on, not realizing that the water underneath is warmer due to springs.

I love talking weather -- I'm a farm girl!!  It's warming up -- might reach the freezing mark Friday!!  Woohoo!!!  The Rideau Canal in Ottawa, the world's longest outdoor skating rink, has officially opened.  Well, big whup.  I live within 3 blocks of it and the only pleasure I get is that I have a parking spot with my apartment and can snicker at all the poor people driving around looking for parking so they can go freeze and skate.  If I were an American citizen I'd definitely be living in Florida or Hawaii.  Why on earth would anyone live in the north when you have the south!?!

Simply, cost of living.  My son lived in Hawaii for a couple of years, and it was amazing how expensive it was to live there.

Elizabeth, nice name (My middle name, after my Canadian geat-aunt), Does Canada have the equivalent of the Farmer's Almanac?

My son lived in Hawaii (2005-2009) while he was in the Navy - or not on deployment. He came home last year and has said when he retires, he wants to move back to HI because of the warm temps. but he also complained about the high cost of living there.

Reporting from East Lansing, MI - The Michigan board of tourism does NOT want me to let you know that we are at a balmy 36 degrees and partly sunny. As someone living in the North, it is only because all of my family lives here and I would miss them terribly if I moved to Florida or Hawaii (oh, and I do have a great job here too).  However, I do dream about living in one of those two places everyday, especially in the winter!

Cancun/Playa Del Carmen is only 5 sleeps away, as is the fluffy pink daiquiri!

Warm regards (or should I say cold regards, brrrrr)

We are back to having beautiful blue skies.  The weather guessers are undecided, some say next chance of rain is Monday, others say keep your umbrellas ready, multiple storms heading this way beginning tonight.  I kee an umbrella in my car and one in my desk.  That way I don't have to carry one, but it will be ready if I need it.
