Christmas Time - Animated Wallpaper screenshot 1

MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU LOVELY, LOVELY DUSTBUNNIES!!!

I'm sooooo thrilled I took a moment to come on and read the greetings!

Shiny...those children are sooooooooooooo precious... You're gonna have to give us an update how they enjoyed their Christmas morning.  Your ds "story" made me grin from ear to ear.  I love Christmas...and especially the reactions of the little ones....Kiss

I just wanted to pause and thank all you lovely dustbunnies for all the love, encouragement and support you all gave me during this last year.  I truly don't know what I would've done without you guys... my family feels like they know you all.  Your precious, precious women and I am wishing you the most wonderful, warm Christmas season of all!

    I love you all, xoxoxo

Janet!!!! You and your daughter are still in my prayers. I pray for continued healing and peace. May God Bless you and smile down upon your family.

And that goes to all you dusty buns!

I am cleaning enough for us all. I have already done dishes, finished grouting and sealing our new backsplash and am more than half finished cleaning the fridge! The new sink is one bowl only and very deep and wide. I love it! Instead of kneeling and bending over the bathtub to do the shelves I can do them all in the new sink.

I have to be AT work tomorrow at 5:30 so I will have to leave about 4:30...sigh.

I knew I should have not done "house work".   Getting ready Christmas Eve and checking the things I needed to take to my son's the following morning, I ripped my index finger open on a jagged jar lid.   Half an hour later I got the bleeding stopped, so decide on a rum and coke.   Grabbed bottle of coke, opened it and it was like a slow motion video - slipped out of my fingers to the floor, bounced 3 times, erupting like a volcano each time and of course on the carpet, furniture, me and I almost cried.   There was some foam carpet cleaner, which got rid of most of the mess.   Forget the coke, swig of rum and off to bed.

Christmas Day at my son's and I am cooking the rack of lamb.  Smoke billows out of the oven vents and the smoke alarm blares.   Turn off the oven, open oven door, small flame goes out, open windows, son turns off smoke alarm.  No real damage to oven, lamb is ok, but not done cooking.   Son's MIL says why not nuke it since it was more than half done.

I got rave reviews - tender, best I had ever made.   Son's MIL never had rack of lamb and she had 3 helpings and loved it.    We ended up saying we created a new way to cook a rack of lamb -- and laughing as we came up with various names for the "new recipe".   Lamb flambe was the final choice....    Hope you can laugh as much as we did once the smoke cleared.    And this was to be the beginning of a new family tradition....

Bless you Nancy that story is supreme! I want the full details of your lamb recepie, as I tend to cook it mostly always the same with rosemary and a wee bit of garlic. Let me know!! he he. Your good humour saved the day, and how great that you get on so well with the MIL or your DS, fab.I bet that was the most deserved and best tasting bit of rum you ever tasted after all that cleaning up!! Hope your finger is better!

Barbe, was thinking of you a few hours back thinking, she's just about at work now, bless you. May all your customers be sweet and civalised!!

To all, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and hugggggggggggggg, especially mummayan.

I will fill you in with Xmas with the kiddies, but am too spinny, not quite right, exausted or something, not good with the typing it is making me worse. I will come back tonight or tomorrow for a propper natter. It was a lovely Christmas here. Boy am dizzy, got to get off.

Shiny, it depends on the cut of lamb as to how I cook it.  Mainly oregano- not rosemary, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dijon mustard to coat.   then some seasoned bread crumbs.   I mix things together and place on top is a roast, or sprinkle the herbs after a drizzle of olive oil.

Should I get out the step stool to put the hot trays back on top of the cabinets???   Naw, I will store them under the bed, as that is probably a lot safer.    Hugs for everyone.   Shiny I love your tales of adventures and activities.   It makes me feel like I am right there watching.

Nancy - I hope your finger is better.  What a day you had!  Well, you handled it with grace my dear!  Very laudable!

Shiny - are you okay?  I have lived my whole life with dizziness and it can be frightening.

Lucy - will be thinking and praying for you on the 30th.  I will cross my fingers, my toes, my legs and my arms PLUS my eyes - then I will be dizzy with Shiny.

Mum - so sorry to hear about your MIL  I pray she starts responding to her treatment.

Barbe - bummer.  Working usually sucks.

Coonie - we are so lucky to have you here!

Arnie - I could stare at the picture you posted for hours.  I can almost smell bread and cookies baking, almost feel the heat from the fireplace, almost sigh with happiness.  Thank you.

Faith - okay, tell us how you did that post!  Fabulous!

Shiny - I always made a big effort to make things special for my kids around the holidays, and they do remember.  When they are older, it's fun listening to them talk about it and tell me they want to make the holidays special for their kids the way I did...but I'm not ready to give up my secrets yet.

So much for not having to clean house....apparently some sparkling cider exploded in my DILs fridge, so I spent the morning cleaning out the inside of her refrigerator and her kitchen floor.  She saw that it happened, but just put the bottle in the sink and walked away because she didn't feel like dealing with it.  Sometimes she can be great, other times...not so.

We had our big dinner last night my daughter cooked a 20lb turkey with way too many fixins. But both DIL and DD helped clean up this time so everything went well.Everyone took leftovers home so I wouldn't be eating turkey for the whole month.I think she realized that we didn't need a bird that large.

What is everyone up to for Newyears eve? I do not have any plans.

Good morning bunnies! Love all the stories that will live on in memory for years to come. It's good to take a negative situation and turn it into a positive one......to laugh instead of cry. Hope you all had a wondermous Christmas. Can you believe the year 2010 is coming up??? It just looks odd, January 1, 2010!!!

Well, I wishing you each and everyone a Happy 2010!!! Love, health and happiness to you and all your families!!!

Sharon, I have actually had that happen to me with an older vacuum !!    First load is in the dryer, second load in the washer.   If I get my act together, I might start the new year with most of it put away, maybe iron the one or 2 things that need it.

I do not know if any of you have savings bonds ( in the USA ), but I discovered that my Series I bond no longer pays interest, although purchased in 2003.   You can go the Savings Bond Calculator to get the value, amount of interest earned so far, and what % of interest they are paying.   So, today I will trot off to the bank and cash them in and try to figure out another place to put that money (besides paying off my medical bills).   They sent me a letter confirming that I can make monthly payments, so I will try to keep this as a reserve.

Happy Monday to all. I am doing the laundry, so no one else  has to do any house work.  Hugs,   Nancy

Hi Nancy, Sharon, Hollyann, everyone "on".

Just a quicky, so you know am "still around!!". You know me, the lemon, nothing glam, as yet anyhoooo, but just whooped. Had a brilliant Christmas, the children make it soooo precious.

My DS had his birthday today. We are giving him a party in an indoor play centre in late January, (which I will get well into personalizing for him as soon as kiddos back in school)  but we had a friend of his and her family today for a low key celebration,( lunch, cake, play and walk round the pond). Off to my inlaws for 3/4 nights tomorrow. Will be staying in a hotel with my DH on the 30th without the kids, they will be at my inlaws. It will be the 1st night we are without the children since my son was born 9 years ago! Please send me some fretting free vibes girls!!

Hollyann, hope you have nice boring results (may have missed them, as not been on too much. hug.)

Physically a lemon, but spirits are just fine. Should get some lab results by Thursday or next week.

Thinking of you all my loveys, and wishing you the bestest sweetest peachiest new year.

    xxx hugsssss all round!

Jane - what a great Mom you are!  I met a woman who had 6 kids and she was caring for her father.  She said I want my children to have happy memories of their childhood - not to say "Boy, Mom sure kept a spotless house!"

For those  of you cooking and cutting/burning yourselves - this is why it is so dangerous to do housework.

As usual, I posted without getting to the last page!  Shiny have a glorious and romantic night alone with DH.

Sharon - loved that cartoon - just loved it!

We went to dinner at my cousin's house on Christmas Eve and the kids opened their gifts from us.  The next morning they got to open presents from their grandparents and Santa.  That night they went to my other sister's house where they got to open even more gifts.  They are on sensory overload.  The 2 sets of kids have another set of grandparents, cousins, aunts etc. they have yet to see - and more gifts.

Lucy - from your lips to God's ear.  I pray for the same thing.

Thanks to all for your continued support & prayers.

Saint is in a very challenging spot & she is grateful for all prayers. She is in a great deal of pain.... her pain meds aren't touching it. She's worn out. Her DD is having her wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. If you have extra prayers -- keep sending them out for this dear family.

Our SIL Scott is now officially on his way to Iraq. I will go download the pics of the two of them this afternoon, so you can picture them in your prayers. He was already dressed in his desert fatigues and that pretty much unglued me.

Just barely keeping my head above water...... and so thankful for our bunny-family for the support.

Faith, he is deeply imbedded in my prayers and thoughts. Please keep us posted on him! I don't know how your daughter can look so composed...what grace! I bet she crumbled in your arms when he left....Cry This is when I am grateful to be in a country that doesn't believe in war because it doesn't have an army that can fight one... Wink! Okay, don't jump all over me! I know we have some guys over there peace-keeping. We have lost 134 soldiers as of last week. Each one a tragic death.

    Good morning Bun Buns!

    Faith - praying for all.

Barbe - what a waste of lives war is - I hate it.  These young men and women are just starting their lives.

We are experiencing high winds today.  When I woke this morning I thought they had re-routed a train right through our yard!  That is exactly what that wind sounds like. Brrrrrrr

War is such a waste of human life and even peace keeping missions are not safe.  I could not live that kind of drama.  The fears, the pride, sometimes sorrows.  But since I am praying for Saint, it is not too difficult to extend to Scott.

I have been sick since boxing day.  Temperature is up, had the sickies and my version of the runs (walks).  I may be seriously dehydrated.  Dont know.  How can you tell?  I looked up dehydration and apparently I need gatorade or pedialite for the electrolites.  I kept telling my husband to take me to the hospital and he kept talking me out of it.  He seems to think he knows everything.... and his nose was out of joint to find out that due to low blood pressure my normal temperature is 97.7 so a temp of 100.3 is substantial.  He thought it was just a little above normal.  I was hoping the nurse would tell him to take me to the hospital.  However, she agreed with David, that I should be monitored and DO NOTHING for the day.  Sigh.....

Dream, you really don't want to go into the germ cesspool of an ER right now, especially if you are running a fever. You'd probably all come home sick with something else! Viruses can't live over 100 degrees, so your body is doing what it is supposed to and heating up to kill off a virus. Pedialite is for infants. Water, gingerale, tea, juice, you can do it! A headache is a sign of dehydration...

Keep us posted on how you're doing.

((((Dream)))) sure hope you're feeling better real soon. Take care of yourself.

If I were you, I wouldn't let that fever go on for many more days. Fever makes you feel

horrible. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way!

((((Arnie)))) Missing you girlfriend!! I'll be so glad when we can get you back fulltime:)

How is DD? Hopefully, she's regrouped and getting better. She's been in my thoughts and

    prayers.

((((Jayne)))) How are you feeling friend? I love your new avatar! But.....I always enjoyed seeing your pretty smile too .

((((MaryRose)))) Haven't heard from you lately. Is the hair coming back pretty good? Are you feeling more like a normal person?

Better not making lists cause I'm not totally with it right now.

Just know I'm thinking of each and every one of you bunnies!!

Isn't it amazing that a bunch of bunnies can bond like we have?

    I think it's so special!!
