Awwhh Faith...If you have an APO address for SIL #1 in Afghanistan I would love ot have it to send him cards form "home"....I have the APO address of a local boy here who is shipping out this week back to Iraq for a year......He is so young!.........He looked to be about 20 yrs old.......Broke my heart to hear he was leaving but it put a smile on his face when I requested his address over there.......Hopefully I will be able to send him more than just a few cards......I hope to be able to send a few small toiletries too.......
No housework for me today either...I worked all day and now I'm tired!...LOL......
I love you all, my dust bunny friends!....And YES whoever asked about the cookies.....You can come to my house ANY time!........ -
DD and I made cookies yesterday and I swept the downstairs and cleaned the kitchen. I wrapped about 6 presents...I have to get them all wrapped and pack to leave for VA on Tuesday AM.
-
So aparently they ruled out stroke but admitted her until they figure out what is going on.Ordered cat scan and mri.She was also put on iv anibiotics. They are worried about fluid building up in her brain. She is a tough woman but how much can a person take?
I tried to go to church yesterday to say a special prayer for her but found out our church burnt down last week while we were in Mexico.Unbelieveable what will be next?
-
I was just finishing up a long post when my clumsy hands hit something and the wholel thing went away. Drats!!!!!!!!
Mum - glad to hear your MIL did not have a stroke. I pray they find out what is causing the problem. How terrible your church burned down.
Shiny - you are such a good mum. It is so great when they want to cuddle!
Jane - as usual, you are doing waaaaaay too much. Slow down. Although I will take some of those cookies since they are already made.
Lucy - you are such a caring and compassionate person - always thinking of others. Its good to know the world still has your kind of person.
Nancy - we have been in the house for two days and nothing got done.
-
Ah Cindy, common courtesy ain't so common anymore...sigh. I would have asked if you needed help! Where was the store staff???? A a WEEKLY trip to Disneyland? I get exhausted just thinking about going ONCE.
Mum, thanks for the update but now it's almost scarier not even knowing what it is. You can't fight an enemy you don't know is there.
-
Barbe, I noticed one year since your mast. Congrats on the one year anniversary. It may be a few days late, but none the less sincere. I am not sure which date to celebrate the most. One year for me since my partial mast or lumpectomy and NED on the pathology, as of Dec 19. That is after A/C, taxol and herceptin. It is the day I was happiest after dx, so a good reason to celebrate and of course NO housework.
Hugs for all, Nancy
-
Cindy - I meant to address that incident. Barbe is right - common courtesy is most uncommon these days. I am sorry you had to experience that. I guess we all have but it still hurts when you are sick and unable to get help. Hugs.
-
As I read through a lot of the posts that I missed while I was off doing my "thing"...single mom, full time nurse, house cleaner extraordinaire...hahaha i realized how much I've actually missed all of you. It is amazing how much love you all share, even though you are scattered in different places around the world. When I was told NED at my last CT Scan and checkup....I couldn't wait to close the door on cancer and move on....but....I just can't do it!
-
there is a real social aspect to the boards, friendships are formed, just as real and tight and important as if we all met in person. .
Oh Mum - it keeps getting more and more involved! So sorry for all the "stuff", but you know that no mater what happens in the ral world - you always have US.
hugs hugs hugs
-
oh meant to say that we are adding to our family - a lovely 3-4 month exotic short-hair (basically a short hair Persian). Mostly white. We are picking her up tonight, official name is St Barbara of the Faith, it was weird that it was the first thing I thought of, just popped into my head with some force
(was thinking of all you lovely ladies). Her everyday name has not been decided - any suggestions?. Promise to put up photos (both the children are home and will take pity on me)
-
EWB, Barbie-Faith? Oh just a sujestion, for fun. Enjoy tonight EWB! I bet you get little sleep just looking at and cuddling your new baby cat.ahhhh. I love cats but unfortunately my sister and mother are extremely elergic so..Enjoy your purring purfet pet what ever she's called!
I managed to get an appointment for blood work on Wednesday, including a fasting glucose test, so hopefully I can sort any niggles, otherwise I shall "chuck all my physical woes to flue remnents".
Mumayan. Thinking of you.
It is snowing lovely fluffy flakes, and has been for hours now, looks brilliant!! Not good for travelling though as England is not set up for this!!
I have Randy Travis singing Christmas songs in the backround, ahhhhhh I love Christmas. Baking XMas tree and Snowman cookies with the kids in the morning after making them pancakes.
My DS was so cute this a.m "wowww it's snow, neige!! look it's snowing mummy, wow" he sat excitedly, rocking back and forth staring out the patio doors. Just a wee while ago, when it started to snow really hard again, he just coudn't contain his excitement, he slipped his crocs (!!) on and ran to the slide and whooooshed down, covering himself in snow! It was a good thing I had just bought him some thermals, Since he was all wet anyhow, I said he could do it one more time so I could get it on the camera for him to recall later. Now he is singing "here we go round the Christmas tree, Christmas tree, Christmas tree" by the tree, he is most disapointed that he can't actually "go aorund it" as he sings as it is stuck in the corner..ohhhhhhhhhh!! he he he he!!Somehow, he has just this minute managed it! He's just managed to squeeze himself around it "to fit the song".
Well daaaalings, as you can see, am in total mummy mode, do forgive me for "going on"!
kiss kiss and peachy vibes to all in need. Thinking of you.
Shiny
-
And all is right in the world! Lovely story Shiny, I can see ds coming down the slide...doesn't get much better than that
-
Love the snow!.....We don't have any...What part of England, Shiny?......My friend Harley and his family are heading to Manchester tomorrow or Wednesday.......They are from there.....I envy them the trip...England is on my Bucket List for sure!......Also Ireland to see my granddad's homeland.......
Loved the story of you DS Shiny......I can just see him going down the slide in the snow!......OH!....Did he get to sing in the show?...Or has that not happened yet?.......
Mum..So sorry your church burnt down!.....How sad!.........
Cindy, sorry you had such rude people around you when you got sick...Trust me if you had been in MY store, you would have gotten the attention you needed..........I'm with Barbe.......Once a week to Disney is a bit much for me!...LOL...Once a year is too much for me..........
Love, hugs and Happy Monday to you all!..... -
I agree Elaine, beautiful story Shiny. I hope you keep a diary if you have the time.
-
Sharon, you know what, I wonder if I could squeeze that in. The kids are always wowing me with their lovely ways and their funny comments, perhaps I shall try to do that, hummm. Thanks Sharon.
Hollyann, am in the South West of England, snow most places tonight and some havoc on the roads, so your friends best check with their airline before departing for the airport!! It might just all melt by then thaugh.
Nighty night all.

Me too Barbe.. But I have only just started for the day. Boo Hoo.
Maybe it will be slow today and I may be able to catch up with the previous posts. Am running a little behind
-
Please say a prayer for our sweet Kbug...She is in the hospital again with SOB.....She had a procedure done 2 hours ago to remove fluid from her lungs.....Now she has a horrible cough......She is having a PET scan, chest xray and an MRI of her skull tomorrow......She will be hom e on Wednesday....She told me to post this, by the way.......Also she said I could give her address to whoever wants it...Just PM me........Thanks, ladies!.....love you all to pieces!.......
-

Bunnies. Dear sweet bunnies.
Loving bunnies.
Hugs going out to all of our bunnies.
Bunnies old.

Bunnies not-dusting.
Bunnies true.
Finished my songfest with Santa..... always a highlight for the year.
Now can shift gears...... to deal with the mountains of paperwork. LOL.
I'll pretend that they are snow covered mountains and decorate them for the season!

-
Off to the decorating......... not.
I'm thinking about getting a card or two into the mail...... this will be a complete shock to the lucky recipients -- as I gave up the sending of cards quite some time ago. I think it will be a happy shock to my parents. Twill see if I can get that accomplished.

Holiday Hugs to all you Bunnies. If I don't get back here before Christmas, my Fiona and I send you this Christmas greeting:
-
Hello Bunnies, well the day has finally arrived, I have finished rads! Hooray! At last I have crossed that finish line. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I am so pleased to be finished for Christmas. The doc looked at my skin after my treatment today and said he was pleased with the way it has held up, no burning. I just need to see my surgeon on Christmas Eve.
I am still not feeling really tired so I have been doing some cleaning over the past few days and getting the place ready for Christmas. Our tree is up but I haven't finished decorating it yet. When I was a kid we always put the tree up on Christmas Eve, so by comparison I am doing it early.
Mum I'm glad the antibiotics are helping your MIL. Hope she continues to improve.
Kathi your Fiona is such a sweetie pie.
Hugs to all you lovely dust bunnies.
