For those of you who seem to have to watch it when it airs, or are worried about missing it, I have one word for you:

    TiVo.

I've had a dvr for 10 years and can't imagine watching TV on their schedule - have never missed a show I want to see.  I'm surprised there are still people who don't have them, especially since every cable/satellite company offers them.

If I was Russell, I would take Shambo with me.  She is stupid, disliked, weak, and I don't think she'd get one vote.  Actually,  It's hard for me to imagine anybody getting a vote against him although there are some people who vote based on who they like.  Lots of times in Survivor - the people who have played the best game have lost, because they have burned the other people who played.  However, I don't think Russell has burned that bridge yet.  But, it does seem the stress is getting to him a bit.  It's the cocky ones who end up losing. Getting mad that people are gossiping doesn't help - of COURSE they are going to talk.

I loved the way he pulled the immunity idol out of his pocket and put it around his neck before they even began.  Dude has balls.

Brett or Brent or whoever he is better start winning immunity because he's the next to go.  And, Mick and Jaison would be smart to get rid of Russsell as soon as it's too late to play the idol.

    I hope they don't though.  :)

Jaybird finale is next week Thursday and I believe Sunday night.

I think thats why they voted 2 people out on Thursday.

I'd tivo if I could afford one. Taping on a vcr is free. Plus, you can now watch most popular shows  on-line even though it may not be as convenient.

I'll definitely be watching this Thursday and then the finale on Sunday!

Just confirmed that it is ending on Sunday night - went to the CBS website and looked at the schedule.  The two hour show starts at 8 ET (barring football game overruns) and the reunion show is at 10.

I have DVR and can record when I want, but I have to say not everyone can afford either TiVo or DVR, my oldest daughter is just starting out and that is a luxury for her so she would be that person that would have to watch a show when it comes out, online or at my home at a later date.

I loved Rupert....... he was so nice, one of my favorites and he was the best pirate.  The way they started that show was fun - they should do that again.  The finale this week, whoo hoo..... can't wait to see how everything unfolds.

My youngest daughter just told me that her bosses cousin was the Survivor winner one or two season's ago and they just tapped an Allstar season.  He of course can't say who is on the Allstars, only that he was a part of another Survivor.  I love Allstar shows...............

I have DVR, which is why I am just now posting. Just watched last night. Not much left to say!

CoolBreeze, you say Russell has balls....he also has everyone "by the balls"

I don't care who wins this season, know one has struck me to become a favorite. Shambo is a bit strange, but she is a hard worker, you have to give her that. Poor little Natalie, with her clothes falling off during that one challenge! She really can't afford to lose anymore weight, she is gonna disappear. I think the finale will be the best of this whole season.

We now have DVR with our new satellite dish setup, BUT our old TIVO was much better! And it was free to use...it was an older system, and able to bypass the setup that charges for use. SO there are still some old Tivo's that were free to use! Wish you lived closer jaybird, I could share it with you! I hate to get rid of it entirely,as it was much easier to use than the DVR thingies we have now.

I hated, absolutely HATED Russell till a few shows ago...now I hope he wins. Everyone else is so wimpy and has not demonstrated the balls that Russell has. He is playing the game well, thats for sure. I guess my second pick to win would be Natalie...she has stayed under the radar, and been nice to everyone. Will be an interesting finale, thats for sure!!!

Tonight is Survivor......................... I'm hoping that Russell makes it to the finale - he makes the game interesting and if it weren't for Russell I'm sure the ratings would be down.  I think Russell deserves to win, then I'd like to see either Natalie, Jaison, Mick or Brett win.  The more I watch Survivor the less I like Shambo and I was pulling for her as the underdog earlier in the game.  Wouldn't that be a twist if Shambo made it to the Jury?

Wahine - Like you I hated Russell, I was tired of seeing him on the show, wishing he would get voted off and couldn't believe he was still there. Then realized - he's playing the game and keeping it interesting.  I love watching what Russell will do next.

jenn, I agree with you---if Russell doesn't win I had thought Natalie would deserve to win, but I totally forgot about Jaison and Mick....I think they have played a good game too, and have not gotten on the bad side of anyone (I don't THINK they have...but only see what they edit and allow to be viewed!). YAY....tonight should be good! Get the popcorn and drinks ready....

I found last night's episode to be somewhat anti-climactic.

How will Shambo fare with being on the jury? Can you imagine being one of the less popular players and then hearing all the behind the scenes comments afterwards?

I truly don't think anyone is a better player than Russell. Natalie has hung on by being sweet/popular/non-threatening but she isn't a 'good' player. Can't wait for Sunday!

Looks like Brett is going to be quite a contender....if he keeps winning immunity challenges! I still wonder if the others will try to blind-side Russell and vote him out....they are crazy not to. I thought Shambo was very gracious when she was voted out, but like jaybird said I wonder how she will feel when she hears all their comments....some pretty mean comments at that. Save me a front row seat for Sunday's finale, it should be VERY interesting!

I am sorry to see Shambo go.  She was entertaining.  I agree that she may have a hard time with the other jury members, being a traitor and all.

I like Russell to win.  But what if Brett has just been flying low and he all of the sudden pours it on and makes it to the end?  I would have to give him my vote if he does that.

    Here is Jeff's blog.

Well, I am going to be very disappointed if Russell doesn't win.  And, for those new to this thread - read back a bit.  I already posted links showing Russell is not a millionaire.  He owns a marine towing company and a trucking company - nowhere near a million dollars in profits.  He apparently lives in a trailor.

That said, he was born to play this game.   Getting rid of Shambo was a good move - she will remain loyal to him - it doesn't hurt him at all as far as her vote.   He really needs to keep anybody who can win a challenge around - Brett is dangerous and if he wins all the challenges - he'll win the game as he has the entire jury.  That would disappoint me as I never like it when the "under the radar" and "hangers on" players win - yet they often do.

Shambo was so disliked that taking her to the final two would have assured his winning - now that's gone.  He'll have a harder time convincing people to vote for him over Mick, Jaison or little blondie.

It would be smart of the Mick, Brett, Jaison, and blondie (name escaping me) to turn on Russell.  But, they might think that he's disliked too.  Juries on this show often don't vote for the best player but the nicest one.  The trick is the editing of this show - we see Russell talking to the camera about how great he is, etc....but that doesn't mean that's what the players see.  He may have done lots of nice things for them that we don't know about.

He's by far the best player I've ever seen in 19 seasons of this show and IMO, he deserves the prize.

As for the DVR thing - TiVo's cost money, yes.   I've had TiVo for ten years so it's paid for itsellf. I also have DirectTV's DVR which is free with a monthly pay of 4.99.  And, I think Dish has a similar cost structure - it's not expensive at all.  If you can afford cable/satellite you can afford a DVR these days.  But, as somebody else said - TiVo is a superior product.  DirectTV is partnering with TiVo again to put out a DVR - can't wait.  In any event, for 5  bucks a month you can have the technical ability to never miss a show again and don't have to bother with tapes or whatever.  Just one button and you have the show forever, no matter where it appears in the schedule.

I dont' work for Tivo.  :)  But, I'm a moderator of TiVoCommunity.  :)  LOL!

I would really LOVE to see Russell win, he is a great player.  But Brett is really working his magic.  EVERYONE on the jury seems to like him and he keeps winning immunity challenges.  However, like it was said earlier the editing does show us only what the producers want us to see.

Four hours for the coconut challenge - whew that wears me out!

And..............save me a front seat to the reunion show too!!!!!

It is so hard to know how low key Brett has actually been playing.  When you see 'deleted' scenes it often gives you more insight into a person.  Editing is everything!

Well I think the finale is going to be a good one! We are going out of town, so I won't see it until Xmas! I did find this link, it is showing that the next season is an ALL STAR, Heroes vs Villians and who will be on it. Will be an awesome show if its true!

     http://www.survivorfever.net/index20.html

I hope I don't end up hearing who won on the radio or tv while we are gone. Lets see, I have satelite radio in my vehicle, so no news and I can keep the tv off. Yeah right!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I am SO disappointed!!! I can't think of anyone less deserving of "sole survivor" than Natalie!!! WTF? I hate when the jury votes for the 'nice' one over the better player(s). And, I definitely prefer two finalists, not three. I think there may have been one other season when the person who won was not the best player. JMO...

And, good for Shambo. It seems this experience, after all, has been a positive and rewarding one for her. She's obviously liked by a lot of people in the real world even though her tribe mates didn't like her much.

I really didn't like anyone on the jury. This season had a lot of strange players. I think some of the more normal ones were voted out early.

I sure hope Russell gets to play in the allstars season - can't wait for that one!

IMHO, I think Russell definately played the best game, but I actually am okay with Natalie winning. I think she was pretty smart to align with Russell and stay under the radar...and I did like her as a person, so I was happy for her. Poor Russell looked like he had been crying, and all I could think of was since he was so confident he was going to win the 1M, that maybe he had already spent some of it....and that might be why he looked so very upset. But when he won the $100k, he didn't look too happy about it....I guess not winning the $1M took precedence.

All in all, a good season. Looking forward to the Allstars season, but there are some players there that I didn't like at all. I agree with jaybird, and hope that Russell is one of the allstars....then maybe it will be his turn to win!

So disappointed. Russell should have won that money - NOBODY has ever played the game like him.

Idiot voters. Once again, a weak hanger-on won. I will never understand the human race, equating people who cling to power as equal to those who create power.

    Russell got robbed.

We actually watched last nite, instead of waiting! It was really hard to sit through all the commercials! Fell asleep during the reunion part, so I did get to see that, but have it recorded.

I didn't care who won, I just didn't like this season much. What the heck is up with all the weight on Natilie though? They must wait quite some time before that show. No one could pack on that many pounds in just a couple of weeks!

Looking forward to the All Star.

Yes, they actually filmed the show back in early summer, hence the healthier appearance of many of the players. Can you imagine waiting so many months for the outcome of the voting?

I agree that Russell should have won. He played so well - with his heart and soul. I am glad he won the $100K. He looked a little happier after that. HA. I think he needed validation that he did indeed play well.

From what I understand, Russell is going to be on the next Survivor. I read something online and cannot vouch for its validity, but from what I read the next season will include Russell, Coach, Ozzy, Amanda, James, Jean Robert, Parvati, Cirie, Rupert...(cannot remember the entire list).

I really thought Russell deserved to win. At the end when he was talking to Brett on the beach is when you could Russell's soft side.  He really liked Brett and Brett was the only person Russell really didn't bash - he respected him.  I think Russell would have rather lost to Brett than Natalie.   Mick, although good eye candy is someone we won't remember in a few years, same as Natalie.  In another year, we'll say "who was that girl that won over Russell"?  I can't believe the jury can't get away from their emotions to see who the better player was.......... The jury was a strange group this year, as was most of the cast.  Looking forward to the Allstars- according to the link Russell is in the Allstars.  I like the idea of the Villians v Heros.

Natalie did pack on pounds...... not sure where that came from.  Shambo, although she was wearing on my nerves towards the end just has such a good outlook on life and I have to say I do admire that.  She could teach a lot of people life lessons on happiness - she seems to have it. And..............my heart went out to the other Russell again watching him go down.

Another season over - on to the 20th reunion show in February.

Jo - I agree - Russel's mouth did him in!  He did outwit, outplay & outlast as far as finding the hidden idols, and controlling who got voted out, but he seemed to forget that the very people he was openly calling stupid and dumb would control his final fate if he made it to the finale.

There is a social stratgey to the game as well, and Russel's failure to recgnize that cost him the win. (IMO)

It was one of the most fun Survivor seasons in a long time though, (largely due to Russel)  and I look forward to watching the All Stars.

I just finished watching and yes I did watch it from the beginning it took lot of will power.

Natalie was the last person I thought she would win. But good for him

IMO Russell lost because of his personality not because he didn't play the game good.

I will watch the reunion show later.

Because 60 minutes went over. I know I wont see the entire episode. It was a good season.

2tzus, yes, I think it was Sandra something. If I recall she was african american?

It just goes to show you how random this game,  and life, can be. If only this, then that. One small change and then everything is different. Still can't say I liked anyone but Shambo even though she had some weird moments. I understand strong women and how hard it is to get along with them sometimes. :)
