    (copied from the other thread)

Just got off the phone with Saint. Less than five minute conversation..... and then a second call of a bit more length.

She is in the process of being released from the hospital as we were speaking. Her husband is there packing up her 'stuff' and we were interrupted so that she could have a consult with the specialist releasing her.

She is NOT going home to a hospice mentality. (edited to put the word not in capitol letters & bold print!!!

She asked that our prayers now convert to HOPEFUL acceptance. We talked briefly about how hope & acceptance, acceptance & hope are interwoven. Which comes first and what begats the other??? We both agreed that there is always room for hope.

She said that her favorite term is one that Maura left on her answering machine: Houdini.

So she's starting her Houdini chapter.

Her college son is home till Sunday.

She remains very weak, but seems to be regaining over the set back she had over the past couple of days. She was unable to go home at all for Thanksgiving, and eating anything was the furthest from her mind yesterday. She was quite sick, but all things seem to be much better today. Various counts & balances.

She anticipates that being surrounded by her own loving, furry friends will bring delight in the days ahead.

She's not certain how quickly she can be back here posting, as she's not certain how she could manage that comfortably/with computer in the near future.

She is grateful to all for the prayers, wishes, healing light & laughter, and strength that have been showered upon her..... and credits this support for her being sustained over this three week hospitalization.

    We laughed once.

Oh happy day. Oh happy, happy day.

    xx00xx00xx00xx00xx

I urged her to record her thoughts & feelings about this newest development/going home. If she's unable to write things down I hope that there's some way for her to speak her experience into a tape recorder..... for later reflection.

She has much to learn and share and teach.

    Thanks for the update Faithie!

Soooooo sooooooo glad Saint is going home. I'm sure just being in her own bed will make her feel better.

I'm looking for a miracle. I expect the impossible. I feel the intangible. I see the invisible.

A Christmas miracle sure would be GRAND about now!

    As always, thank you Faith.

Saint, I like that wording, 'hopeful acceptance'.  Yes, that is something to strive for.  For us all to strive for.  You are dearly loved and prayed for.

Pat, see last post - our movie!!!  Saw it the other night again ... and got to see the part where Dorothy told Scarecrow that she'd miss him most of all ... made me smile soooo much.  Coonie, I love your phrasing - I feel the intangible I see the invisible.  We all see you getting through this dear Saint

    Good morning, Houdini.

I wonder how you're acclimating back to homebase?? I know all of your fur babies were ecstatic to have you back at the helm.

Sending you encouragement for this day.

Today's our turkey day. First time that we could get everyone together. I have baked the pies, but now it's time to get the rest of the act together.

I declare today post-turkey gratitude day.

    Sending plenty of

    Strength and courage.

It's exceeding easy to be a friend to a person like Saint.

She flings wide her doors & her heart to ALL in need.

She shares her perspective of faith and gratitude from the vantage point of an individual who has endured much and still relishes the little graces extended by the new day at hand.

    She's a good listener.

    She's an easy-laugher.

    She's an amazing cook.

    She shops & talks simultaneously.

    She's a good story-teller.

She is realistic, yet tempers that acceptance with hope.

    She's a good teacher.

    She is widely read.

I can't remember if I told you about the time that we'd spent about 6 or 7 hours at the Chicago Art Institute appreciating every display. Well, I'm sure I've mentioned that..... but did I remember to tell you about her final tribute?

There was a young security officer that we must have passed a dozen times in the course of the day. He would tell us about little-known treasures to be certain to locate. He gave us all sorts of behind-the-scenes insight in our brief encounters.

The museum was ready to close, Pat had been on her feet since before dawn, and she insisted on tracking down the official-form to report employee praise. She wrote several paragraphs about our young security docent who had been so kind. She made certain that his supervisors knew that he'd made our visit extra special.

It's easy to be a friend to Saint, because she makes me a better person in the process.

I was among the blessed earlier .. had a phone call with Saint.  I can't begin to say how uplifting it was for me, and hopefully for her too!!  She sounded great.  I don't know about treatment or prognosis, I just know that I had a great conversation with a good friend and it made my day in a way I can't even describe.  Miracles girls ... miracles.  She believes, I believe and why not?

Saint..... I'm so delighted that you and Marlegal had a chance to burn up the phone wires. I know you've been trying to connect.

Today's Monday. Maybe it will be my turn. LOL.

I'll be in the car for about 6 hours, so that gives us a pretty good window of opportunity.

    Heading north today. To Michigan.

    It's a quick hop.

Will be sending you prayers the old fashioned way.

I feel like Tom Sawyer after attending his own funeral!!! LOL!!!!!   Miracles!!

I am not the miracle tho-----YOU & all the ppl who pray are the only plausible explanation for this odd turn of events. As you may or may not remember -I had been sick with one flu after another for 6 weeks b4 my hospital admit. In the depth of despair & feeling so sick I cried & asked God where He was.....where was a sign.....could I feel His presence....could I get just a little break....??? Well look at this break---home to heal slowly--but NOT to engage Hospice yet! ONLY one explanation & for that I thank you all.....there MUST be stuff for me to do yet---right now it's a nap!

HUGS--hope to find my way back here regualarly soon---be well & stay strong
