Sorry I won't be able to join....
-
Just wondering...does anyone go to the Gilda's Club in Hackensack??
-
No but I used to go there on occasion for my old job. I hear they re-did it recently.
-
Anyone from Central NJ (Union or Middlesex counties) here?
-
no shelley...do you?
-
I went last week for an orientation meeting and am hoping to get in on some of the yoga and ceramics classes. They also have a number of support groups as well as guest speakers etc...just wondering if anyone else wanted to join me??!
-
Shelley I wouldn't mind checking out some of the guest speakers, let me know if you hear of anything good???
-
Central Jersey here, Freehold
-
Lauren, why dont you join? It is free....we can do yoga together!!!
-
I've been going to the wellness community, I hear the two have joined up this summer. When are the classes and stuff? I might be interested and its not too far for me.
-
Everything is at the clubhouse in Hackensack. It is on Main St. just behind the Target store. There are groups during the day and evenings. You do have to go through their membership process which involves a one hr meeting and a short "interview". It is all free. There is a montly calendar and except for the main support groups there are many things that change month to month such as the exercise and art classes. I signed up for my first class there this Thursday, Yoga at 1pm. I will let you know how it is. There is also a breast cancer networking group on the 18th at 6:30.
I actally bumped into a woman that was in my orientation meeting yesterday at the radiation center. It was nice to see a friendly face and since it was my first appt. at the center it was nice to recieve a big hug from a "sister". I think Gilda would have liked that!!
here is the link for the website, the montly calendar is on there too.

Hi Shelley, PatMom and all Sisters of NJ/NY
I was thinking of both of you and was wondering how everyone is doing. Shelley how are your rads treatments going? I also remember some of our sisters were just starting chemo. I hope things are going okay ....with few se.
I know that things fizzled out for setting dates to meet - seems like too much with treatments and the holidays upon us. I won't be around after the holidays as we are snow birds and spend Jan/Feb down south. But we still can share our struggles/lives and get to know each other.
I have plans for this weekend or I would have stopped into the NY lunch meetup at the NYC Seaport at 1 p.m. Anyone going?
My thoughts and prayers and Hugs to you!
-
Hi all,
Doing well here. Through 11 of ??? rads as of today and hanging in there. I'd still love to do a meet up on a week day if anyone is interested??? I'm flexible-ish until rads is over and then after that very flexible.
-
desny thanks for pimping our NYC meetup. I was downtown for the first time since surgery and I passed by the seaport. BTW, I changed my username and avatar, so please don't be too confused!
-
Hi Cookiegal,
Got ya! Have a great meetup on Saturday. I just know I'll meet up with you someday.
-
Lauren - I am also good for a meet up during the week - my schedule is pretty flexible.

If you gals meet in NYC I will join you sometime in March when I start going into work again. Right now feeling lousy and pissy enough that I can only meet in Central Jersey.
-
Where are you in Union County?
-
yes.... lol
-
Hey Jersey Girls, we are planning a boat show meet up in January. Info on NY NY thread.
Peace!!
-
I take it there hasn't been another get together. This is a tough time w/ the holidays.I would be more available after the holidays.
-
Hi Ladies! I have been so neglectful here! After the holidays I will be catching up and hope to meet some of you. So until January...
Love Deb
-
Hi Jersey Gals.
Does anyone like basketball?
I know the Nets are .....not the best team ever, but would anyone want to do a gtg at a game. Maybe vs. Boston?
PM me if you like.
Even if we had a few ladies it could be fun!
Also the NYC boatshow GTG date may change to the weekend.
Chelev is not making the trip, but she is offering to get us tickets, so if you want to come it is so close to Port Authority, Penn Station, and the Lincoln Tunnel.
Happy holidays!!!!
-
The white stuff is starting to come down now!!!
-
Is anyone going to go to the football game in the snow? In Green Bay we loved that! If I were fully healed I would put on my snomobile boots and parka and go!
-
If anyone wants to do a weekday meet up once the holidays are over, let me know!
-
Lauren, Let's touch base in a week or so. Now that we are both done with tx we MUST go do something! I am still doing the happy happy dance! WOOHOO! DONE! Weekdays work for me seeing that I no longer have a job. But even that cant get me down right now.
Lets bring in the new year with a Bang!
-
I'd love to meet up but going south on 1/8/10. Please keep me posted - I will try to
make one of your meetings. Have fun in the meantime.
Deborah, so happy for you! Being done feels so good.
-
I can't wait to do this! We'll def. touch base after the new year. I'll have my 2 year old with me unless we can meet near my house on a Monday or Tuesday morning while he's in preschool.
-
Hi
I live in West Essex County...anyone interested in meeting for lunch. I can do it on a Sunday.
Or dinner during the week.
Hope we can get something together.
