Joyce ~  Thanks for letting us know about Bette.  Hopefully, she'll feel up to posting again soon.

Bette ~  You have been on my mind every day.  How I pray that your pain has been managed and that the radiation has helped you.  Please let us know how you're doing when you can.  And bless that wonderful DH of yours for everything he does for you, including keeping your CaringBridge site updated.

Misty ~ Rome sounds wonderful!  I hope you'll have a glass of wine for us while you're there!  We'll absolutely be with you in spirit!

Gail ~  Have a wonderful visit with your Mom!

Hi, Stacey ~  How're things going in VA?  Have you been able to get settled at all?  Hope the kids are okay and over the flu if they had it.  Thinking of you ~     Deanna

    Hello!

Corrine: I'm so happy you can finally get those implants! You sound terrific. I'm doing okay on a break from chemo (been tired this time) final Ixempra is next Wed. I pray this will be my last TX!

I'm in real dillemma to give my son w/Asthma the H1N1 vaccine. Children w/ Asthma are very susceptible to severe respiratory distress if they catch it. My DH is against vaccines. I just don't want to make (another) bad decision.  I think I should. What do you all advise?

Bette: I hope you're feeling better! We miss you.

    Have a great day everyone,

    Love Jeannine

    Hi Everyone!

I join the chorus, too - Welcome home Bette! We love you!  I think of you so much and pray for you to feel better soon.

Corinne, so excited for you - new pills AND those HUGE implants! Wow!

Jeannine, glad you are getting a break! Take care of yourself!

And here's a question - is it a good idea to get both flu shots for all of us? I really don't know whether to get them or not?

    Hugs!

    Gail

Hi all,  I am so sorry Bette that you are having such a hard time. Love and Hugs are being sent your way!!

Jeannine: As far as H1N1 I think the message is mixed.  I know that it is never a good idea to have a vaccine the first year it is out because you don't know of all the side effects. I would talk with her dr and see what he suggests. I was told my kids should get it and so should I.  I have not done that and don't know if I will.  If your husband is against it I would follow him and just give it to God. I have heard that people have died from the shot. There is a nasal vaccine coming out in Nov.  I heard it may be safer.

I am very busy with my parties with Linen World. I had 9 so far this month.  Tearing down wallpaper tomorrow and going to horseback riding lessons.

I LOVE YOU ALL and hugs to each one!!! If I go to Baltimore perhaps I can stop and see some of you!!!

Prayers for Bette!!! Please also keep my Gram in your prayers as she too is back in the hospital - her kidneys are shutting down (not a good sign). I hope she bounces back like always but I don't want her to suffer.  She was in a lot of pain when I was up at the hospital and that was alittle hard to take but I stayed and helped her all I could!!!!! Everyone have a great week!!! I love all my breast cancer sisters and I don't know what I would do without each and every one of you!!!!!!! Loves to all...................

    Good Morning,

Ali: I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother.  I will definitely keep her in prayer.  I had a cousin who succumbed to kidney failure last year. It is rough.

Corrine:  Well the pediatrics ran out of the flu shot on Saturday! I've decided after much thought to get the flu virus for my son. The people who have died from the shot (that I read) were elderly folks. I'll be at a pod site this Saturday probably all day. He is priority. The one the kids receive is a dead virus and injection.

I did read on Bette's site she has pneumonia. So sorry you're back in the hosptial Bette. I'm praying hard for your comfort and healing.

I was at the lab 2 hours today to get my blood drawn.  I tried to wait for the tech experienced in veins that hide but she was too busy.Luckily the other girl knew how to use the butterfly needle well. Ay yay! Wednesday final TX of Ixempra. Can you believe it? I'm ready for my hair to grow back. My son brought me to tears when he told me he forgot how I looked w/hair.

    Prayers & Hugs,

    Jeannine

I NEED TO VENT!!!!!   Today I called my dr to see what time I had scheduled my pre-op appointment. I was informed that my insurance dropped my dr from my provider list!!!! Called my insurance and once your dr is dropped could take 45 days to a year for them to get back in. I was on the phone for 4 yes 4 complete hours. How far did I get?  I get to call tomorrow and get a case manager hopefully to get farther ahead but....going to start that trial tomorrow.  So....my husband is taking time off so he can drve me to the dr's so I can call the insurance company on the way.  Another 4 hours tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! Please don't pray for me for patience,,pray for survival!!!!!!!

OMG, Corinne, what a hassle!  I sure hope you were able to get everything straightened out today.  I can't believe an ins. co. would drop a doctor mid-year like that.  That's just wrong.  Sorry it's caused you such immense frustration, and I hope it's been straightened out by now.

Jeannine ~ Hooray on your final lxempra tomorrow!!!  Seems like it's gone fast -- although probably not to you!

Ali, I'm praying for your grandmother.  Hopefully, she'll have a turnaround, which it sounds like she's done before.

Hi to all, and many healing thoughts and prayers for Bette ~   Deanna

After 6 hours on the phone trying to see if I could get my dr covered.....I decided to call my original case manager when I first found out I had cancer.  She got everything done in less than an hour!!!! Ugh!!!! I am going to have 100 percent coverage and they told me that it was just a computer glitch.  Why couldn't they have told me that originally?? I also was told that they had no certification for my surgery.  She did that for me too.  For all of you who had the Lattisimus Dorsi Flap.....How long for recovery??? How long were you in the hospital?

I went to my onc and signed up yesterday for the Neratinab trial.  I got a call when I got home stating that I had to be at the hospital for tests (this AM) at 8:00. I left at 7:00 and wouln't you know I was so happy that I got a parking space right next to the main enterance!!! Thank you Lord. My kids brought all their school work with them and they are just about finished so we can go for our walk. Anyhow, saw my original surgeon and am getting my port out!!! Yipppeee!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know when yet but it will be soon!!

Bette: We love you and are continueing to pray for you.  So happy that your nurse was taking such good care of you!!!

Jeannine: Yippeeeee!!!!!!!!! Your last lxempra!!!!!! I wish you were here but because you are not I have asked God to give you a BIG SPECIAL hug from me when he hugs you!!

    Hugs to all

Jeannine-Yeah!!!  You did it!!!  You got to the end of the treatment.  You should be so proud of yourself.

Bette, I hope you are feeling better.  You poor thing-having to be in so much pain. I hope you have a turn-around soon.

Corinne, my onc's office is also participating in the Neratinab trial.  He said I could do it.  However, when I called to find out more info about it, I found out there are many tests I have to do before starting.  Then, I have to do more tests along the way for the next year and possibly after that year.  I have decided not to do it.  I just can't take more time off of work to get these tests done.  After having the past year filled with appts and Herceptin TXs, I am just done!  So, I am going to pass on the trial.  I hope I don't regret that decision.  With only having a 50/50 chance of actually getting the drug, I will just hope that one day, it will be available for all HER2 girls.  Please keep me posted about your trial.  What kind of recon are you having?  implants?  I know it is coming up next week!!!

Everyone, hope all is well.  My DH and I will celebrate 16 years this Friday, and then that old b'day sneaks up on Sunday.

Misty, I went for an ekg, an echo and a chest xray yesterday. ALL covered by the new trial. I start on the 19th of this month. I will get the heart tests every 8 weeks as if I were still on Herceptin. My dr seems to think that this is a really good trial for me. It is in phase 3. I am having breast implants in a one step proceedure nex week.  I am psyched!!

Jeannine: How are you feeling??? Are you really tired from your last one?

    Hello,

I am so saddened to hear Bette's news.  I did read on Tom's post that they have a goal of collecting 1000 cards & calls by Thanksgiving.  Let's continue to show our strong love and support for our dear sister Bette. Continue to send the prayers her way!

Well my final TX went okay.  Rt. breast has been throbbing. It seems when I'm off Xoleda after 2 weeks,,ouch. PET scan will be in 2 weeks so please keep me in prayer that my bc is still localized. Surgery will be early Dec. I can not wait. I met a very nice couple both who had endured multiple hodgkins lymphoma. They believe it had something to do with water contamination. Wife has been out 2 1/2 years but both look good. Hubby is now doing chemo. They mentioned they were off to Yosemite.  That's next on my to do list.

Thank you Corrine for the hug! I sure need it. I hope things are better with your Dr. and insurance approval.

Congratulations on your 16 yr. anniversary Misty!  & many many more.

     Prayers & Hugs,

    Jeannine

Bette,  my heart is aching for you and the decisions you are having to make.  I'm so happy for you in your strong faith.  My prayers are with you and Tom and I ask God to take your pain away and comfort both of you.  Please be sure and know that this is touching each of us in a very personal way.

Jeaninne, I'm praying that this chemo is the one that did it!  Surgery is just a short time away, then on to healing.  I'm sorry about the pain, do they know what this is?

Corinne, I'm so glad they figured your ins out finally.  Please go to the thread on here under Breast Reconstruction called Exchange City, many of the women there have had the Lat Flap procedure and could give you some good advice about the recovery, etc.

Misty, I know what you mean about so many appts!  It seems like every day off I have is filled with one appt or another!

I am meeting Gail this weekend in San Marcos and I'm so excited!

Hope everyone has a good weekend,

    Deen

What a wonderful day!! Went to church came home and walked for 40 muinutes then rode my horse for about an hour, mucked the stall and went back to church.  It was so beautiful here around 60 degrees. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice too.  I wanted to download a picture of my horse and all the fall leave colors but I don't know how to do that.  If I figure it out I will. My hair is getting so much longer. Nice and curly...AND I MEAN CURLY!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their day!! Thinking and praying for you all!!!!!!!!

    Hugs,
