ITS SNOWING.....2-4 inches Yes, my first time walking 2.3 miles in the snow. What a blast of fresh air!!!
-
Deanna, hope you are healing up nicely. Thanks for the verse, I had to share it on my Facebook page, it really touched me.
Corinne, I'm so glad everything is going well for you. I also have been doing my weight bearing exercises for my osteo:( I sometimes resent the fact that while I tried to stay healthy and thin, I ended up with bird bones!
What's snow?:)
Misty, how's your revisions going?
Gail, great news about your PET, too! Keep hunting until someone finds the source of your pain! We don't want it to wear you down.
Jeaninne and Bette, I hope your next txs go uneventfully and easily for you both. I'm praying for ya'll every day. I'm sorry for your pain, Bette, wish I could take it away.
alibug, take it easy!:)
Have a great weekend!

Hello all & Happy Friday,
TX#3 went well but my Dr. visit was somewhat depressing. While it seems some of the rash is drying, some areas are not. (Or worse
Final Ixempra is 11/3 then a PET Scan. Praying for this to still be localized. I know it will... I can't wait until my Dbl Msx. Surgery will be early Dec. and will include Oophorectomy. Dr. doesn't want me to wait any longer. Then RADS hopefully. I've been in pain lately. Thank God for Vicodin.
Corrine & Gail: I'm so happy to hear your good news & clean scans! Wow you have snow Corrine? How wonderful. It's about 80 degrees today in CA. Gail: Your horse and you look beautiful.
Deanna: Thank you for that inspiring verse. I sure need that. I also heard another one this morning in Mark "to pray with all your heart and it will be answered". Our words play a powerful source to our healing. Glad you're recovering well.
Bette: I've put us on Pastor Hagee's prayer line. It'll be on for 30 days. I continue to pray for your healing and strength.
Thanks for all the prayers my fabulous bc sisters!
Have a great weekend.

Gorgeous photo, Gail! If you're back in the desert, maybe we can get together next week.
Jeannine ~ I'm so sorry to hear that you're in pain. Is it from the rash? Is your onc still in touch with the onc you liked @ UCLA, to see if she might have any additional input at this point?
Did any of you see the documentary film, Crazy Sexy Cancer on Wednesday night? It's about Kris Carr's battle with a very rare form of cancer, and was incredibly enlightening and uplifting. If you're not familiar with who she is, she also has a website: http://www.crazysexycancer.com/
What I found most interesting about her cancer journey is that when she was first dx'd, she went on a Macrobiotic Diet, with little or no change in her cancer, which, though rare and in her liver, was slow-growing, so did not require immediate chemo or surgery. Then, she went on a 21 day juicing fast followed by a raw diet, that she started at the Hippocrates Institute in FL (sounds like an amazing place), and had excellent results with that. You really need to see the film!
Deen ~ I've been meaning to ask you if go to the NFR in LV? We go every year -- sort of a mini family reunion we do with our Texas rels. We're starting to make plans now, which made me think of you, since the PRA & Wrangler does a Not Too Tough To Wear Pink night.
Saw my PS yesterday to remove bandages. He told me that he did a lot of work -- which I took as a compliment, because I've been working very hard to get back into shape, and the comment made me feel he was totally on my team as far as wanting me to have the very best outcome. I have some new scars and pain from the lifts he did (for symmetry), but I'm sure the final results will be worth it. He also removed some fat necrosis from the outer lower edge of my reconstructed breast (an area a local radiologist had incorrectly told me was just cysts), and the biopsy on that was totally B9. So... moving ahead here, and contining to pray for good news from everyone else ~ Deanna
-
Deanna, I've never been to the NFR, but I plan to sometime. My son and I, and now his wife, have always liked the rodeo. We used to ride ourselves, but had to sell the horse years ago for money reasons. Seeing all of the pink across the stands and down in the arena is awesome, and those cowboys look good in it!!!
I'm glad your revisions are going nicely. Yeah for B9!!! I also had a small lift, and am still deciding on possibly doing another, I just hate having another surgery, but PS is leaving it to me.
Jeaninne, I'm sorry you're in pain. My prayers are with you.

After a long drive on a wet Saturday:
Pain is under control with combo of oxycontinin, oxycodone and lidocaine patches.
My right ankle may be broken. Waiting for results of x-rays.
Appt. on Wednesday with surgeon who may be able to relieve back pain by doing kyphoplasty on two compression fractions at T-9 and T-12.
One more trip for VA for this cycle of chemo. 2 weeks off then. Woohoo!
Bette

Bette ~ How did you injure your ankle? If it is broken, is it also a compression type fracture? If so, can they possibly give you Zometa to help strengthen your bones? I am so sorry that you are dealing with so much, but I think of you many times a day and each time ask God to be with you and to relieve your pain and let those chemo drugs kick in. Glad you have a little break from chemo coming up, and I hope you will feel well enough to enjoy the time off.
Deen ~ If you don't make the NFR this year, I'll be sure to take some pictures for you. Last year, I had just finished up chemo, and my extended family (I think there were 14 of us) all wore pink on the big night Wrangler honors bc. (Duh... except me, who wasn't feeling great and forgot.) I didn't get a photo of it, but it's etched in my mind and on my heart -- especially those tough cowboy BIL's of mine in their pink shirts -- a bit like the story you told. Deanna

To all of you that know Bette - Her husband Tom posted on her CaringBridge blog that she is in the hospital in West Chester trying to get the pain under control & is requesting cards, calls & of course alway prayers! We love you Bette! Joyce

Hello,
Had a rough weekend but I survived. Still feeling achy and sore but no longer constipated! Whew...Good news everyone..I finally obtained my dried rattlesnakes yesterday! DM & I picked them up from the local swap meet. Jeweler said he couldn't confirm they help but suggested to grind them into a salt. (They are salty and don't taste bad). Now let's see if this works. I'm not in much pain today though hmmmm.
Deanna: I don't think my current Onc. is working w/the UCLA Dr. but is following her recommended plan for me. Can you believe UCLA Dr. lost my Pet Scans? Ay yay! I'll have to get copies. I'm happy your surgery went well and your biopsy is B9! I also believe in the Raw foods diet. I just have problems sticking to it.
Bette: We're all still praying so hard for (our) supernatural healing. May God grant you peace and comfort throughout this journey.
Has anyone heard of the Nefful negative Ion clothing? My friend wants me to try this cloth. Aids in pain (supposedly). I think I need to take on 1 treatment at a time.
Have a good week everyone,
Jeannine

Bette, praying hard for you.
Deanna, that sounds wonderful!
Jeaninne, I hope you're feeling better and hey, why not a miracle? I have seen so many in my life!
Love everyone,
Deen

Talked with Tom about Bette....She is still trying to control her pain. Still in the hospital. Tried to call Bette on her cell but she did not answer. Will try her later.
Jeannine: Praying for you...Hope that God uses the snakes to defeat this!!! I love you all my bc sisters.
Deanna: How are you feeling??
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS ROYA??

Bumping us up and saying a prayer for Bette!!!! Loves to all...................

Hey girls! I am here (in VA) and getting settled. It has been a crazy couple of weeks. I started working at the preschool 2 weeks ago and got laid off from it on Monday because I am too expensive to keep on the payroll because I have a degree! To top it off, yesterday all 3 kids were diagnosed with swine flu. They are to stay out of school until next Tuesday...UGH!! The topper is that this all happened 10 days before our new insurance kicks in! Tamiflu cash price is 147.50! I only filled it for my oldest because she has asthma.
I haven't been able to read the last 2 pages of postings, but will after writing. I have been keeping up with most everyone through facebook.
Love and Hugs to all!
Misty and Joyce...we have got to get together soon and pay Bette a visit!
Stacy
-
Hi Stacy, nice avatar. Sorry to hear about the kiddies w/the Swine flu. Scary. Be careful. I'm trying to keep my kiddies safe. My son has asthma. Also sorry to hear about the job cut. Keep the faith.. something better will turn up!
I'm feeling kinda down hearing about 2 sisters whom we lost this week. We just have to find a cure to this darn beast. It's so unfair.
I haven't been eating my snakes as much as I should. (Like eating beef jerkey-tough) I need a grinder. On a positive note, it looks like my breast is responding (& shrinking).
Yes Corrine, where is Roya? MamaK? Lisa?...thinking of you all constantly.
Love to all,
Jeannine
-
Jeaninne, this is great news!!! I'm so happy for you! I have also been thinking of these sisters, and I check their pages every once in a while, but some have been a long time out, and it worries me.
Stacy, I hope things will take a turn for the better with you soon. With 3 kids in the house with swine flu, it's probably a good thing you are at home with them. Hope they feel better quickly.
Gail, when are you planning to come? I would love to meet with you.
Bette, I am praying hard for you!
Hope all of you are doing well,
Deen
-
Wow Stacey, Love your new look!!! So sorry to hear of your children being sick with swine flu!!! That is also very hard to be layed off. Will definitely be keeping you in our prayers.
Jeannine: What GREAT news you are having in seeing this shrink. Maybe it is a combo with the snakes?? You think??
Bette is still in the hospital. MRI today and still in much pain.
Bette: If you get to read this....We all love you and are keeping you in our prayers.
As far as I am concerned....implants on the 11th. Started taking down wallpaper only to find that there was another coat underneath that was painted. Can't get that glue off!!!
Talk to you all later. Love to you all,
-
Stacy & Misty - I'm ready to go visit Bette when you all are!!!
-
Deanna, is Bette's address the same as it was in July?
Thanks,
Deen

Hey Everyone,
Another busy weekend. Stacy and Hood, I don't think I am going to be able to visit Bette. We have plans each weekend day through mid-November. Then, we are heading to Rome to visit my husband's family from the 20th-28th. You should just plan to go without me.
Jeannine, I hope you are keeping yourself well as you are undergoing your treatments. Take care of those kids!
Stacy, so glad your move went smoothly and you are up this way. HOpe your kids get over the flu fast. It is going through my school, so I am trying to stay well.
As for me, I saw the onc the other day for a 3-month check. He would like me to do a clinical trial, testing a pill for Her2+ early BC women. I am undecided about what to do. I will think about it during the week and then make a final decision.
Hope everyone's weather is as glorious as it is in MD today.
~Misty
-
Deen ~ Yes, Bette's address is the same, but not sure if you got it before or after her name change, so I'm going to PM you. If anyone else needs it, just PM me. Deanna
-
Thanks Deanna! Has anyone heard news about Bette lately? I worry when she doesn't post. I'm praying for her.
Misty, good luck with your decision. Oct and Nov are always busy for me, too.
Have a great day,
Deen

Bette's husband Tom has been posting on her CaringBridge.org site every night. Here is last night's update:
Dear friends Tom here. Bette may be in the hospital a few more days,so doctors can get her pain under control. This morning she had severe pain so they increased her pain med to the original dose that she started with last Sunday. When i left the hospital she was more calm & we are looking forward to other celebrations,Thanksgiving & Christmas. Thank you for all your support/cards/phone calls/prayers. Tom & Bette
You have to sign up but is a wonderful site for sharing this type of news.

Hello,
Had visit w/ surgeon today and it went well. Immediate recon. isn't going to happen and not best for me yet. He also advised me to not have the oopherectomy along w/ Dbl. Msx. Deen: Didn't they advise you the same? How is the oopherectomy surgery? I meet w/ Onc. tomorrow. Decisions Decisions! Onc. & I just want to have this taken care of.
Corrine: Got your voice-mail and Thank You. I've still a long ways to go and even though I'm up against great odds, I know I'm going to receive "that Miracle"! (Think the snakes & prayers are doing it!)
Misty: Wow Rome. How awesome! Italy is definitely on my to do list once I'm done w/ TX. I'm not sure about the clinical trial though. That's a toughie. What are SE's? Go with your heart!
Joyce: Thank you for the update on Bette. I spoke with her last Thursday and she was having RADS to her spine and skull. We had a great talk. It just is so unfair she has to go through so much. I told her to never stop believing in God's miracles.
Prayers & Hugs,
Jeannine

Hi,
Misty, Am excited about your trip to Rome - how great! I have a niece who lives there who just had twins and would love to go with you. Please let us know what decision you make about the pill - and also how you make a decision like that. What strength is takes for all of us to continue to make these decisions.
Deanna, I'm finally back in the desert, but off to Texas to visit my 93 year old mother - she's the one that gets up at 5 am, makes me tea and breakfast. And what strength she gives me with her positive attitude and optimism for life. I DO want to get together when I get back in mid Nov. Hope you are feeling great!
Deen, I think that Beasley is around San Antonio, maybe we could meet there if I come from Austin? Would be great to see you. I'll PM my schedule and cell number and we'll see what's possible.
Jeannine, Thinking of you so often, wishing you a good week!
Hugs to all,
Gail

Hi ladies,
My prayers are still with you Bette!
Jeaninne, yes, my BS did not want me to do the oopher at the same time as mx, just to be on the safe side as far as possible infection. The oopher/hysterectomy was really very easy on me, I had the laproscopic, just a tiny incision at my belly button, and a 1 inch horizontal incision on either side about halfway to my hips, no problem. The pain was like when you do too many crunches, only it stays longer.
Gail, Beasley is more towards Houston, but let me know when you're coming and maybe I can meet you near Austin or New Braunsfels. Your mom sounds like my MIL, the Energizer Bunny!
Hope everyone has a great week,
Deen
