Oh Lisa, don't know what to say about you and Tony, sometimes hard to read men, I guess your right just need to talk to him, I mean it can't be all bad, he was with you all weekend, maybe it's just that "cold feet' thing guys sometimes get. Sending good thoughts your way. MR Right is out there for you I just know it.
I just wanted to pop in quick this evening to say we had a great day carving pumpkins and celebrating Jaclyns B'day, but I got a great surprise as well. Amanda and SIL have choosen the babies name. It is going to be Ella Catherine Mellott. I am pretty honored and touched, CAN YOU SEE THE GRIN FROM EAR TO EAR.
-
1Cathi, maybe there is something good in that SIL after all. You will be a great role model and namesake for that baby.

Hi Sisters
I went for the tarot and was left speechless... she laid my cards and felt them and said hospitals! In and out , and I can feel really achey joints! She also said my mum was very strong and telling me she was looking after a girl behind barriers (my daughter died 13 years ago and my mum 18.
She told me I was going on a course... I am with work on Weds.
I am annoyed at my dad... well we had a bit of a set to last night! I am coming into some inheritance in my 40s all to do with a one level house..my dad lives in a bungalow... she said there is a lot of hospital visitng in the future. She told me there was a dog I knew with stomach problems...well my dads dog is old and incontinent! She said I have a good hearted son! ... oh my I am still sceptical but now I dont know what to think ! She doesnt know me AT ALL xx
-
I've never been for a tarot reading but it certainly is creepy that she was able to determine so much about you. Will you go again?
-
Ya'll were busy this weekend. I can't remember everything that has gone on.
Welcome to all the new people on the yellow brick road to OZ.
I don't know if I said anything last week about the local Race for the Cure that was on the 17th. It was amazing. There were over 2100 people registered, the largest race for this affiliate in the 10 yrs they have been organized. I have been participating since 2001 so this made my 9th race. They had a booth where, if you were missing a pin, you could finish out your set. I was missing my 2005, my mom, my husband and myself picked up that pin so I now have 3 of them. I have added one and this years pin to my wall hanging in my office. My sister and I are working on my halloween costume for the office contest. This year I am a 'belly dancing girl'. the main part is perriwinkle blue satin with light purple crystelette (sparkly sheer) skirt overlay, over the breast area of the top, and the face veil. I am making a hat with a ponytail coming out of the top similar to 'I dream of Jeannie' but I will basically be the evil twin of Jeannie. Speaking of my sister, both herself and her husband have found jobs that originally were supposed to be part-time but have turned into full time! They will both qualify for insurance after they reach their 90 day period.
Cathi, I am glad that Jaclyn want's to help out the single parent. Our church is making the Christmas shoe boxes of small goodies to take to the Shelter Home for abused women and their children, as well as looking into doing the same thing for other families. Last year we made some quilted bags that we stuffed with personal care items and school supplies for the Shelter home. The people at the Shelter were touched that we did that. We do try to do things every other month for the Shelter. My quilt guild is making baby blankets, and sheets for the Crisis Pregnancy Center and quilts in all sizes for the Shelter Home as well.
Sue about the clock, Hawaii also doesn't change their clocks. that being said, I had purchased a 'smart clock' about 2 yrs before they changed the dates to change the clocks. I woke up Sunday morning looked at my clock and thought it was 7:30, I went to the living room and the VCR also said it was 7:30. I didn't look at my cell phone, then when I turned on the TV for the news, Good Morning Saturday morning was on, It comes on at 8:00. It was then I realized that my clock and VCR had turned themselves forward one hour and I was late for Sunday School because it takes an hour for me to get Donald out of bed and ready for church.
This weekend there was a big rock slide on I-40 between Asheville and Knoxville at NC mile marker 3 that has closed the interstate for at least a month while they clean up the slide. There is a detour around the slide that will add 60 miles onto any trips Donald has to take if he needs to go North that the company doesn't pay for since it was an 'act of God'. Fortunately yesterday he went up I-77 to go North.

yes , I would definitely go again. Perhaps in 6 months or so x
-
Sue,
I had my palm read many years ago, when Olivia was about 4 yrs old. I have to admit, very much of what she predicted came true for me! It's a little eerie to think about, but some people have the "gift" and I think they can feel things about others. Were you sad when you heard some of the things, esp. the hospital part??
Sheila...what a great turn out for your race. I am attending the ACS 's race this Saturday in Orlando. Olivia has decided to stay for it!! So, her and her g/f (housemate) and her mom who is flying down with me...will all do it together!
-
I LOVE the part about your mum, being with your infant daughter!! That had to warm your heart!
-
Well I was speechless Lisa...I mean she didnt know me and those were the first 2 things she felt as she had her hands over the cards. Towards the middle she said I have been through all the shit now..she actually use thaty word.. ! She said it wouldnt get any worse! I left her house still not letting on what I had been through! I felt very warm when she spoke of my mum.x
-
She actually held her hands up to her arms and said she could feel pain especially in my arm!
-
Wow. Kind of creepy, Sue. I've always wanted to see a psychic or someone of that nature. I'm kind of afraid of what he/she would say, though.
Lisa, I'm sorry things are still a little strange between you and Tony. Maybe there's something else going on with him that has nothing to do with you. I was so hoping you'd found your soul mate. I'm not ready to give up on him, and I'm sure you're not either. When are you seeing him next so you can talk to him about it?
Cathi! Ella is my mom's name! I love that they're honoring you by giving her the middle name Catherine. She's going to be such a special little girl!
It's a dreary, rainy day and I just feel like going back to bed. Blech!
Have a great day, everyone! I'm thinking of you, AE. Hope you get great mammo results!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Hi Sue never had a reading myself, think I would be creeped out if they revealed to much.
AE sending positive vibes your way for a BIG FAT NOTHIN ON YOUR MAMMO.
Yes Karen I am pretty honored, I am actually surprised that they choose Ella,( thought they would have choosen something more MODERN) they both actually like it alot, we were all just popping out names Sunday (Ed said Ella) and it stuck , it it became Ella Catherine, I looked up Ella it means Torch-Bright Light. She will be a shining bright light - she is going through so many tests even before she arrives, and she can carry my torch forever. Amanda got a GYN call this AM after her last weeks visit and tests, she has to now start going 2 times a week, on Monday and Friday for US and stress test, because of the valve/vessel issues with Ella, always something to keep you on edge.
BARBE where are you, I keep thinking about you and worrying - XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX I am having a MOTHERLY INSTINT
-
Cathi ..what a lovely honour to have ..it is a beautiful name and it gives me goosebumps!
It is lovely to know you all xx
Ok Sisters.. something has come over me tonight ... regarding the reading I had. I think I felt so excited earlier on that she was so good .. and I didnt really sink in the reality.. well now I am really really freaked out... in a quiet way .
I wish I had never gone now, my friend Andy who manages a Subway down the road from me asked me to go a few weeks ago as his mum had just passed away, so I went with him.
I am worried that she was so good to get so many things right in such a personal way.HOWEVER I am so scared that she anticipated hospital visits , inheritance regarding a one level house. My dad is 70 this year and really unwell with blood cancer... he lives in a bungalow ... am I wrong to feel this worried.. if the onelevel house hadnt been mentioned I would be better.
My own fault I know... I will try to get it out of my head!
xxx

Hi Karen...we have beautiful weather here! Of course after my weekend in the mountains!
I did call Tony last night and talked with him. To put it in a nutshell, he is scared. He said he cares for me...even Loves me...and thinks I am wonderful, but he was so gungho in the beginning about finding me...and moving here..and now he is not sure he can make that move. He said...."I am a chicken". So...I said, well..we will see how this goes. He said, that his love has not "grown"?? I will continue to see him like I am, but it really does not sound promising. Story of my life ladies!
-
Sue....yes, I would think the same way that you are now. But...honey...you know that at some time your Dad will pass, and that is almost an easy call for the reader. She said in your 40's. How old are you now? You will have many more years with your sweet father.
-
I just turned 40. Yes you're right Lisa it doesn't have to be yet does it...you made me feel better ..thx so much... I just absolutely shocked that her first words were hospital and achey joints ...just could have blown me down with a feather x
-
I know Sue...just hearing things like that is tough to swallow. But...they also can be way off on their predictions...and it could be when you are in your 50's! I know one of my predicitons from years ago, was that there was another child in my life..and it was a boy. Well..I never had anymore children after Olivia. Then when Dan and I divorced...I thought that prediction was because I would marry someone with a son. Well, I did..you know the jerk...with the A$$ for a son...but that was not the "boy" that was coming into my life...it was my grandson Matthew. So that was almost 10 years after my reading!
-
Well ladies I got the all CLEAR for another 6 months - WOOHOO!! Now I'm praying UB gets the same tomorow.
Sue - that is why I don't go to those people. Listen to Lisa - she makes perfect sense.
Lisa- sorry to hear things have taken a turn around with Tony. All I can say is - MEN.
Cathi - I love the name Ella. You have such a good heart, sweetie.
Barbe - WHERE ARE YOU?
Shirlann - how are you doing?
-
Sue, it's a pretty good bet that someone in their 40's might come into an inheritance, (even if it's a small one from a distant relative) and the chances that there could be some connection to a single level house are pretty good too since many people who are having health and mobility issues move into a single level house even if they didn't live there all along.
Most people with "the gift" do have a hightened sense of awareness, but that also means that they are really good at reading your body language. They notice your reaction to the mention of your mother, and if your face brightens, or shows concern at the mention of your father. These are subltle reactions that you may not even be aware of, but how you react to her words and actions can tell her much much more than any cards.
She probably noticed and amplified things that you were already feeling on a subconcious level, rather than giving you any information that is actually new to you. You've been worried about your Dad. If you make an effort to spend time with him now, you will be left with no regrets when he does eventually pass, and we know that will happen eventually, just hopefully much later rather than sooner.
Here's hoping someone you barely remember leaves you a small ceramic cottage in their will so you can stop worrying.
-
PatMom..........very well said. There may be some small truths to Sue's reading...but it's nothing for her to dwell on or worry about. Good advice about her father too!
VALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL..............Great news!!! Here's hoping for the same for our dear UB!
Thanks Val, Tony is a good man....just confused and not the adventurous type!
-
Sue, I agree with the others about not letting what the card reader had to say. My husband is one of those who has the hightened sense of awareness that PatMom spoke of. He doesn't necessarily know the future but can tell when somebody is lying (politicians!) or not telling the whole truth by reading the body language and looking them in the eye or advoidance of eye contact. When my son wrecked my new car, he said he was driving it, but donald knew he was hiding something. It took several weeks for John to admit that his girlfriend was driving the car to Donald but he didn't tell me until last year (almost 6 yrs later).
-
YEAH-YIPPIE FOR YOU VAL - GOOD VIBES FOR UB Tuesday, I know I JUST KNOW HE WILL GET THE ALL CLEAR TOO - XOXOXOXOXOXOX
Lisa don't know what to say about the Tony think, just take it one day, one date at a time, yeah know being a man, being a chicken to a serious comittment isn't anything strange, his LOVE HASN'T GROWN, but he didn't say it had DWINDLED either. XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
-
Geez. I'm sorry, Lisa. I don't know why men are so often committment phobes. Rhuel was the exact same way---hot and cold, hot and cold. Sheesh!!! Men
!!
I agree with everything the others have said about your reading, Sue. Even if she was talking about your dear dad, you'll probably have many more years with him!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Val - so happy you got a good report! Praying for a great report for Bill as well.
I have always loved the name Ella and all the different forms of Catherine. Cathi - that is a lovely gesture to have the sweet baby named after you. It sounds as though she is getting the best medical attention - even before she is born. I love the meaning of her name too.
Sue, I wish the fortune tellers wouldn't talk about the future. It either raises false hopes or causes unnecessary worry. PatMom made some great points. Most of us will be coming into some sort of heritage as we grow older - it's a pretty safe prediction, most of us have some aching joints and the majority will be having something to do with a hospital in the future - we might break something, have to have routine tests, or procedures which shouldn't give much concern. Please try to put worrying thoughts out of your mind. I tried to talk my eldest son out of going to a fortune teller a few weeks ago. I don't think it helped him at all.
Sheila - love the sound of your belly dancing/I Dream of Jeannie costume - you will look fantastic!
Lisa - I'm still hoping that Tony is the one but I hate that you have these feelings of unease about him. I hope things can be worked out between you. I want you to have lots of love and security and nothing to fret about in your relationship.
Karen, it's a dreary, rainy day here too. I am curled up in front of the fire. Last week it was almost hot here. Typical springtime - unpredictable. We need the rain but it's so cold.
Love to everyone,
Jane xoxxo
-
Sisters ...thank you ALL for putting things into perspective... you have sorted my head out no end... thankyou thankyou thankyou
Patmom thankyou for a good explanation... and it is sooooooo good to see you, I haven't seen you in an age!
I will never go to see a scheming body language reader again HAHAHAHA xx I WANT A REFUND!!
HEHEHEHEHEH
Jane I have one wish in the world @ this moment and that is to be snuggled up in front of your fire..having a good old natter !!! xx
Mushy love xxx
-
I would love that too Sue! Wish you were here! xxx
-
Wow I've missed a lot! What a nice read.
Lisa, some woman who was the author of some book...don't you love my precision...said that if she ever meets her soulmate she will run as fast as she can in the other direction. Lasting relationships are built on being able to work, play, agree, disagree, cooperate...all pretty mundane. Finding a soulmate is exhilirating, exciting, magical. Is that a solid foundation for a life partner? Her ideas really took me aback. I don't know how I feel about it, but in my experience wondrious infatuation always fades, and what is left isn't always what is wanted. Sorry to philosophize. Life is so complex.
I spent 6 hours this evening immersed in records. The Beatles. Pink Floyd. Marvin Gaye. Elvis. Carpenters. Captain and Tenille. Harry Nilsson. Eagles. Gordon Lightfoot. Average White Band. Grunge. Rock. Garage. Alternative. Raunchy. Classical Jazz..it's all there. I'm amazed and exhausted. So much more I wanted to say but I am falling asleep and have a stress echo tomorrow so better get to bed. More later. Love you guys!
-
Sue, no one knows the future except God and I think he sometimes surprises even himself! You have to look on your visit as amusement value only. "You're going to have a boy (50/50 chance, right?) or "A parent is ill (duh, gonna happen, too!) I am extremely psychic and have gone to three readings and each one has said that I am stronger than them! But I don't believe in predicting the future, but just knowing what is happening right now.
Cathi, you'll live on in imortality! Woo hoo to you, too!
Lisa, Lisa, Lisa. When Paul and I moved in together, the first hiccup we got he actually sat down and told me to "move out by Friday". We still laugh about it to this day, 17 years later! hehehehehe (Don't know if I'm stubborn, or smart.....
) When we had started to get serious, he told me he wanted to meet me one night. I thought "this is it!" Duh on me, he told me that he was starting to get deep feelings for me and therefore he thought we should split up. Again, stubborn me....hehehehehehe
Men dont' know what they want until you tell them!
Also, his kids are probably telling him to slow down. Is there financial issues here? Does he have money his kids may be trying to "protect" from you? It is always something other than what we think. Men are'nt deep, they're just well-hidden.
Val, congrats! You must be on cloud B9....sigh.I hope UB joins you up there tomorrow.
-
Hi all,
Barb - so good to see you - great advice to Sue & Lisa.
Jane - waving hello - it is raining here as well - and getting colder.
Judie - I would love to see your son's collection. I have quite a few old Beatles albums i have collected over the years. Are you selling his collection ? That is a monstorous job for sure.
Well UB had the scan - now we wait.
Love ya's.
AE
-
Hang on to those Beatles, Val. If theyre in near-mint condition, they're quite valuable. Almost as valuable as UB. I'm holding my breath with you.
Lisa, some great advice here.
Barbe, I can just see you and your SO. He never had a chance!
I am selling records right now but only to members of the board that was dear to my son. See, it pays to be active on an internet board! They are getting a discount because they have been like family during a rough time, much like you guys. Later this week the rest will be hauled to Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon on consignment.
This morning it's Charlie Rich, a conversion from the quadraphonic album into very high-quality surround sound that my son did. That was his passion of late...converting quad onto disc to preserve the experience. I don't have a surround sound setup, but even on my lame system it's pretty amazing. If anyone has an especailly beloved album from now or the past, PM me and I'll see if it is in his collection. Any Deadheads on board?
Gotta run...I have an appoinment with my breast surgeon. Does anyone else have every 6-month followups with your bs? It seems like she has done her job well, I have no boobs anymore and my onc sees me regularly. Oh, well, I really like her and the visits are pleasant because I know she won't give me bad news!
