A couple of weeks ago I read an article in New Scientist about Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus (MMTV). Very interesting. Has anyone else here read anything about this? It seems to be the new big thing that researchers - world wide - are studying. Now a doctor has posted about it on these boards and given a large number of sources. Check it out on http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/81/topic/743095?page=1#post_1579375

There was a documentary on ABC1 two weeks ago Geebung, during which MMT virus was discussed, among other causes. You can watch it here:-

Hi Sheila,
I forgot that I had watched that too. Wasn't it interesting?
-
Okay, give us the short version. I can't do links well.

WOW so much worry for everyone, good thoughts hugs and vibes to everyone, guess it's that time, XOXOXOXOXOXOX. We also received so upsetting news from Amanda's OB/GYN Monday, the missing arterie issue in the Umbical cord ( called Single Umbical atrerie SUA) is starting to present it self with some possible major issues, in 2 weeks Amanda's belly has not grown, possible that the baby has stopped maturing - common with the lack of O2, also learned that this can cause MANY severe complications, chromosone disorders which we thought were limited to Down's but there are 2 Trisomy 13 & 18 that are quite severe and life expectancy with either of these can be as little as a few days to weeks - DR said the risk of theses is at least 25%, I know thats 75% NOT, but WTF - scared to death, the baby can also have heart, gastro and bladder defects, Amanda must go back Friday for US, O2 levels and Stress test, the DR actually said it may very well get to the point that Ella is safer outside then inside. She is not due until Dec 30.
I can't help but wonder why so many of us are TEASTED so often, I know wer are not supposed to be handed anymore than what we can handle - I am begining to question God's plans again. I know for one I am really sick of my plate being so full.
So SENDING OUT A BIG-BIG GROUP HUG TO EVERYONE,I think we could all use it.
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Oh Cathi! Thank God she is living near you now or you'd be going crazier! So many prayers going your way today.....
-
Cathi, I am praying that all will work out for baby Ella.
Barbe, there is a thread about the MMTV on BC.org evidentally by someone in the US doing research. http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/81/topic/743095

Thanks Barbe, I too am so greatful she is here now, In Ny it was just them the ex lived just a few miles away, but he was not a support system at all. I really can't help but worry/think that was part of God's plan, because Ella is going to have some problems, I hate feeling like that, but after all these years Amanda finally moved here, why now??? Ella is going to be so loved, but I am so sad and scared for her already and there is no way of knowing anything concrete until she is born, but so much fear instilled on us Monday - I guess preparing us for the worst. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Shelia you were poting the same time as me. THANK YOU, and wanted you to know your Avatar gave me a big smile - LOVE IT.
-
Sheila, when I try to link with your link it says it doesn't exist! What am I doing wrong?
Cathi, there is an expression: If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
-
Barbe, I don't know why it didn't work, look in the IBC forum and the topic name is something on the lines of 'the Pink virus'.

Oh my word- so much worry and concern! Group hug is most def needed...I am so sorry we are not all closer so we could help in more concrete ways. My heart aches for all the trials and burdens. I add my prayers, good thoughts, good energy for good outcomes. One day at a time, with gentle hugs.
-
Oh Cathi! I'm sitting here in tears, worried about your sweet little Ella. I just don't understand why precious babies are born with such challenges. It's just not fair. I'll continue to keep you all in my prayers. (((((((Cathi, Amanda, and Ella))))))).

Hi Leeza,
Hoping life is giving you some easy and peaceful days, I know its been tuff and ruff for you as well this year. HUGS BACK TO YOU MY FRIEND.
-
Cathi, I'm so sorry to hear about the added worries for Ella. This just isn't right.
Leesa, {{{HUGS}}} is about all I can do from a distance.
Karen, the Alice costume was a le-e-e-tle skimpy, but not overly. I hope it stayed on
. My daughter's first costume (she was Lady Gaga) morphed into something else before the night was over.
Love to all. I'm going through a very busy time at work, so I get in early and leave late. which doesn't leave me too much time to post when I get home. I read, and fall asleep, lol.
-
AAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!! How do you smash Corningware and paper plates? I've been trying all morning. I don't even have a full plate that I can smash.
Cathy, I am literally holding my breath with you and holding Ella gently in my heart. You don't deserve all this, yet here it is. You are a brave, corageous woman.
Karen, those were wonderful photos...so bright and happy! The costume may be a bit skimpy, but it's perfect!
Thanks for checking in, Leesa.
Love to all. I remain buried under thousands of tons of music. (exaggerate? Moi?) Jean Michel Jarre-Oxygene. Janis Joplin-Pearl. King Crimson, Stylistics, Guess Who.........

Love the plate smashing photos, I will vision smashing my full plates.
Yesterday I took a 'mental health' day from work. We get a paid day off for our birthday but you have to take it within 30 days of your birthday. Most people take either Monday or Friday off or two half days but Monday's are my busiest day and Friday afternoon I am the only one in my dept so I can't take that day off and why take it half days at a time. My quilt guild has started opening up the quilting room two Wednesdays a month for all day quilting so I chose yesterday. I was able to finish the Mickey Mouse Christmas Tree skirt I worked on all last year for my mother-in-law in time to go under her tree this year and cut a fleece throw for her to tie the edges together for her fiancee. Others were there with their sewing machines piecing quilt tops and one woman brought in her completed 'X marks the spot' quilt top to use the Design wall to get the layout of the quilt top. All in all it was a productive day. I got two new quilt books for my birthday and looking at them, I am planning a new wall hanging for my office, a lone star quilt block. My mom has a lone star quilt that her mother made out of fabrics from clothing she made and I have always wanted to try doing one and this book has a quick way of piecing it.
I do need to get back to work but wanted to check in.

Cathi..prayers for your daughter..((((Cathi))))

Back to work.
Love to all!
