Oh darn!! I have to pass on meeting up with you wonderful Jersey Girls
Paramus Pk Mall is too far for me and lately I never know when I can get the car. We are playing musical cars in my family these days because my own car is in for service waiting for a new engine. Maybe another time we can have another one. Chern, I still have no hair either! I hate wearing my wig it's so hot, and I usually am taking my chemo cap on and off in the house depending on how chilly I get or if I'm getting any hot flashes I rip it off too.
Shellyr25, Hi, my oldest daughter used to go to school in Rochelle Pk. I am seeing Dr. Waintraub at the Cancer Center in Hackensack. Is that where you go also?
-
Why don't we also find some place for those more south of the Paramus area? Where does everyone live?
-
I am in Belvidere (Warren county), but I go for txs and to see family in Somerville (Somerset county). I am up for anywhere within about an hour.
-
shanagirl, I hear ya about the head wraps. I have my thin wrap, the winter hats that look ridiculous on me, I am always changing them. I drive down the street bald sometimes, I just dont care. When the hot flashes come, ppl should be thankful I dont strip!
-
I am in Parsippany, Morris County.
-
Who cares what others think? And if you avoid mirrors, it becomes all about how you FEEL and what makes you comfortable. IMHO
-
EWB, Yes but stripping in public could cause problems~lmao. You are just a hop skip and a jump down Rt. 80 for me. Mapquest says about 50 Minutes. Lets see who else is around us. Are you going to lunch this Friday?
-
Not sure, have to rearrange some other things and not sure if I can make it work. Yeah- I didn't think about the stripping thing, I was thinking about head coverings and other sorts of things we all seem to worry about. Although I suppose if you were at home......
-
I have gotten way too comfortable with the bald thing I think. If people come over I dont care most times, as I am always either HOT or FREEZING. So I go from, bald, to woolly, to thin wrap, to bald, blah blah blah. I have a wig, but really dont wear it.
Hope to see you Friday, so far I think it is only 2 of us. It would be great if you could come too!
-
Boy- I walk away from the computer for a few hours and you guys are yappin' up a storm!! LOL!!
Shanagirl- Yes, Waintraub at Hackensack...he is...well...lets say interesting!! LOL!!!
I will definitly be at Bensi on the 23rd..as for any other meetings just let me know. My second surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and then rads wont start for 4-5 weeks so I have some free time that I should be feeling pretty well.
Deborah- glad you are done with the chemo and feeling well..you will be my rad sister!!
If anyone else wants to plan another meet up for those south and west, let me know, I travel well!!
-
Shelly, hope your surgery goes ok.
-
I am in Caldwell
-
The surgery went ok yesterday...still sore of course. Should have the path by my appt. on the 22nd. and hopefully he got the margins we were looking for...
-

Shelley- hoping you are resting comfortable and healing quickly!
-

-

Hugs Deb
-
Deb- Aren't our plans for next Friday the 23rd?? (sorry you are feeling so badly)...
-
LOL, Thanks Shelley! Shows you how out of it I am. Great, hopefully I will see you all then. I am sure I will be feeling better from this by then. Pretty sure I have a sinus infection. blah blah blah
Glad I felt bad as I would have been the only one there. If I only had a brain.
-
Shelly, glad sx went ok. Hope you get GREAT news on the 22nd!
-
EWB, where are you??
-
Deb- dont laugh...I had to check 2 calendars to be sure that I was not the one with the dates wrong!! LOLOL!! Glad it is only a sinus infection..hope to see you on the 23rd!!
-
Candie- I am in Parsippany/Morris Plains...right off Rt 10 / Rt 53
-
Curious where is everyone going for their treatments?
I had my surgery at Sloan Kettering.
Having chemo at Overlook.
Planning radiation at Sloan Kettering.
-
Hackensack University Hospital...surgery, onc and rads will be there too..
-
Steeplechase Cancer Center in Somerville, next to Somerset hospital.
-
Hacensack University Medical Ctr ~ mastectomy Dr. Davidson, Reconstruction, Dr. Stephanie Cohen, Chemo, Dr.Waintraub
Jersey Shore University Medical Ctr ~ Radiation, Dr. Briggs
-
Shanagirl....using Davidson as well as Waintraub..
-
Shellly, I like Davidson, Waintraub is "interesting"....
-
Yes, "interesting" is the way to put it...he came super highly recommended though...but I must say, he did not catch the interaction between the tamoxifen he prescribed, and the Zoloft and Wellbutrin that I was already on...
