PM me if you want to be emailed about the meet up! I can't wait to meet everyone!
-
Lauren, I just sent you a PM!
-
Hey eveyone, my surgery is on the 13th, but I hope I have a chance to meet you before then. Honestly not quite sure what the recovery will be like and at what point I would be able to drive to NJ. Tomorrow I am headed to Michigan for my 25th reunion, I am so glad I don't have to miss it for treatment.
-
bump!
-
Warren county here, but I (some days) am up for a little bit of a drive. Hate driving anymore, I used to love it. But whatever it takes. My last chemo "should" be tomorrow, we will see.
-
Good luck with your last chemo Deborah.
-
Had last chemo yesterday. What a weight lifted! Rads should start in about 4-5 weeks.
-
Yipey...another milestone reached. hugs
It seems like we are all be very polite and not getting anywhere. What if we plan a once a month day, time and place (like a diner) and anyone who is able to come - comes?
-
EWB, you name it. I will try so show up~lol Come on Ladies, where is a good place?
-
I'm open to meeting. Anyone near the Parmus Park Mall? There is a few places to eat inside
the mall. I am not familar with other areas of NJ, but I am open to showing up.
Here are some dates that I am available. Sat. 10/17, Fri 10/23 or Fri 30th. Anyone
want to put some dates and locations out?
Stay well,
Desny

I like Friday the 23rd! It is a little over an hour drive, but it will be worth it! There is a Hooters in Paramus we could go to as a laugh! Sorry I have a sick sense of humor.
I checked mapquest for local restaunts there is a Chillis around there. I love chillis and havent been there for a while. Just around the corner from the mall I think. 355 Rt. 17
Anywhere I will try to be there, like I said I like the 23rd the best.
-
I think the 23rd works for me.
-
Anybody for Palisades Park,(the park on the Palisades parkway) Sunday, 10/11, 2pm?
If it's decent weather we could take a walk and maybe bring some snacks?
No offense taken if people can not make it. I know it's short notice.
After that I will be out of comission in terms of driving to NJ for a while.
(ps I think the hooters idea is funny!!!)
-
Is that this Friday? I can't come because of previous committment.
-
Cherneski,
Those of us who have had reconstruction could give the Hooter waitresses a good competition!
-
Sorry, I can't make this friday 10/11/09 out of town. Sorry Suz42 hope others can meet up with you!
The 23rd is good. Want to do a lunch at Hooters or Chilli's is fine. Want to start a list who can make the 23rd and firm up Hooters or Chilli's?
-
Onty, I can double up my prostheses but my belly is so bloated and the rest of me from steroids i look like an umpa lumpa~lol
Sorry I cant do this Friday as chemo was just on Monday and I feel like crap, cant walk, blah blah blah. I hope some of you can make it to see Suz on Friday.
EBW, ok so the 23rd, what do you think about Chillis instead of the mall?
Onty can you make it on the 23rd?
-
I will be away this coming weekend also so will not be able to make the 11th. Friday the 23rd sounds fine. I am in Paramus so perhaps I can give some input on the restaurants. The Hooters is on Rt. 17 Southbound...never been there, the only problem is that there is no where to walk around after lunch if we wanted to since it is right on the highway.
Chili's is a free standing restaurant at the Garden State Plaza. Although it is not attached to the mall you could just park and walk over if you wanted to do some shopping or walking after lunch. It is on the Rt. 17 Southbound side of the mall just south of the Rt. 17/Rt.4 interchange.
Paramus Park does have some nice stores and restaurants. There is an Italian place called Bensi (it is a chain so you may have heard of it.) located in the mall. That mall is easily accessable via Rt. 17 Northbound or the GS Parkway. It is also a bit closer for our Rockland County ladies.
HTH...keep me updated..
-
Totally understand October 11 is short notice.(It is a Sunday not a Friday)
I'm still up for it if 2 or 3 want to make it.
Just trying to squeeze in what I can before surgery. My husband is also working that day.
Have fun at the gtg and have one for me.
When I get better I am totally up for Hooters, I think that would be too funny!
-
The 23rd doesn't work for me - enjoy!
-
Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to clearify that we are going to meet on Oct 23rd, for lunch but which
location, Chilli's or Paramus Park at Bensi's? And what time?
Who is coming? Shelly, Deborah, Onty, EWB?
Desny
* Lauren3 - sorry we will miss you. More meetings will follow. We are trying for monthly get togethers, I think!
-
Hi DesNY,
I'd like to join but I have to pass this time. Paramus is a bit far for me. Maybe next time I will join.
-
It's in my calendar for the 23rd. As long as I know which restaurant by the time I leave the house that morning, I'll find it.
If the weather is nice, there is a nice County park in Saddle Brook, not far from the GSP, and Van Saun Park is an easy run from either restaurant.
-
I'm so glad I to see this post. I've been wondering how many Jersey Girls are here. I'm in Monmouth County, by the Jersey Shore, but I have gone for treatment in Hackensack at the John Theurer Cancer Ctr. Just finished chemo and will be starting rads down here at Jersey Shore University Medical Ctr. My husband was born in Paramus, we raised our kids in Maywood, and came down here when they graduated H.S.
-
Hi Shanagirl! I am also at Hackensack. Who is your onc? I am in Paramus and before that Rochelle Park.
As for the meet up...whatever restaurant works best...another option at Garden State Plaza is Grand Lux Cafe...very nice also and has the advantage of being in the mall if anyone wants to shop afterwards...
-
How about 1:00pm? I named the time, someone pick the restaurant. Does that work for everyone?
-
Hi,
Okay, I will pick this time. How about 1 p.m. on Firday, Oct 23th. at Paramus Park Mall at
Bensi restrauant? If this becomes a real problem for someone who really wants to and can make
it, we can switch. I'm just trying to get date/time and location settled!!
Desny
ps. It seems that allot of ladies are working through treatment. Next month do we want to make it on a weekend day?
-
Desny, I will be there! Friday October 23rd at 1:00pm at Paramus Park Mall at Bensi Restaurant.
Next month I am up for a weekend day, that is fine with me. If we do a Saturday the 7th or the 14th, I wouldn't be able to make it till around 3pm because of my daughters soccer. After that I am pretty much free anytime on the weekend.
Kudos to those of you working through TX I dont know how you do it.
OK so who else is game for next Friday the 23rd?

-
I will be there on the 23rd!! Should we wear something so we can identify ourselves??? I can make up name tags once we get there..
-
You cant miss me as I will be wearing my hot pink head wrap, still have no hair! Name tags are great as I cant remember anything.
