Hi Everyone!  Wow what a weekend!  Im exhausted but in a good way.  This was soooo much fun, I just can't wait to do it again.  I was hoping it would be Vegas again, maybe a different hotel?  But heck Im up for anything (love the beach house idea for sure!)

I have no intentions of waiting for a whole year to go by before I tried to see at least some of you! LOL

I will write more later, Im trying to get my laundry done because tomorrow Im off for KC so I can catch an early morning flight Wed morning for Orlando!

    Hi Everyone!!

Vegas was SOOO much fun!  I wish everyone could have made it.  We talked a lot about where it should be next year and although there are lots of good places, the pros of Las Vegas are pretty compelling.  It has the hotels that can hold all of us, everything is within walking distance (no reason to get a rental car) and there are lots of options for large group outings (restaurants, night clubs etc) and lots of things for people to do on their own (shows, pool, shopping, gambling).  It would be tough to get all of those things in another location.

At any rate, no matter where we go next year, I am in.  Thanks to Stephanie, Gisella, and TraceyZ for all their hard work.

I will put names to as many people as I can in the group photo, but it is hard for me to see some of the people...here goes:

From Left to Right, Front to back-

    Karen

Diane, Teresa's Daughter (I am drawing a blank on her name), Teresa, TraceyZ, Laura, Jancie, Claude,

Can't tell who the first person is, Robin, Gisella, Suzy, Jazzy, can't tell, Quinn, Deb, Tracy, Cheryl, Sandy/Sunshine, Clare

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong!

I have to agree with having it in Vegas again next year.  We were treated like VIP's everywhere we went!  You would never have received the same type of treatment going with another girlfriend or your dh unless y'all were high rollers.  For once I felt like I was worth something - not sure if that makes any sense but before my dignity was gone losing my hair - being singled out as having breast cancer, etc. but there I felt like I was worth something because of the treatment we got from everyone at the hotels, bars, - I felt special instead of ugly.  Believe me, I know this was due to a lot of hard, long hours spent by several people in the group using their personal contacts, making phone calls, etc.

I imagine that next year the group will even be larger so going somewhere that has the accomodations for large groups is very important.  After all, it was wonderful to be able to eat meals together as a group instead of being at 5-6 different tables scattered throughout, we were all able to be at the same hotel, we were seated together at the Piano Bar, for brunch at Ballagio just to name a few.  We also have to consider the costs of flights which is typically cheap to get in and out of Vegas versus other destinations.  I know going to Florida would have been an additional $300 in airfare alone and the hotels weren't willing to give us the great discounts like we were able to get in Vegas.

But.....no matter what unless the cost is just prohibitive (do not plan on a European destination), then I am in.

OK back to reality...urgh!!!  Catch y'all on the flip side!

Oh Jazzy, my party sister of course we can do nothing but love Ya.....  Jancie You are beautiful no matter what,  I still Love the red head the best.....Cheryl, hugs and kisses to you and Mom.  Teresa have fun in Orlando.

You know the more I talk about it with my friends the more I realize, we were not (nor did we act like) the group of women with breast cancer, we were the fun group of survivors that know how to party, share, support each other and have fun.....  I believe I have done some damage to my vocal cords, no doubt, but it was worth it.

I cannot wait for next year.  You are right Vegas has a lot of choices, we can do things together and also things separate.  I am in next year so we better start planning.

I will let you know where I post pictures that everybody can get.  In the mean time if you send me your emails I can go ahead and email you a link.

    Love you all

I am sitting at my computer, SUPPOSED to be working --- and what am I doing???  Reading all the posts from the FANTASTIC group of women I met in Vegas.  I had so much fun; it is IMPOSSIBLE to describe all the crazy, fun things that happened.  Especially the conga line at the Piano bar.  That was the greatest.  I felt like the president having everyone reach out to give us a high five or just touch us.  So, so fun!

Oh, well -- I must work.  What a drag.  We didn't want to come back.  We wanted to stay there forever!

Robin - I cried last night in group support telling the women about our experience at the Piano Bar and the conga line.  I cried again telling my friend about the experience this morning.  The support and warmth from strangers was unexpected and they touched my heart.  As I sit here posting about it, happy tears are rolling down from my eyes.

Meeting all of ya'll was so awesome!

Robin - don't know how you are able to work today.  I am so exhausted that I won't even unpack my suitcase until tomorrow and I surely don't have the energy to drive one hour to see my horse.

My critters were glad to see me.  One of my cats disappears for days whenever I leave town.  I was really worried when he didn't come home last night but today he came around.  My other cat just walked around the house whining the entire time I was gone.  My dh would try to pick her up to be comforted and she wanted nothing to do with that, she wanted her mom!  So last night she slept next to my head the entire night.  Both of my dogs would just lay down looking at the front door for hours at a time.

I spent over an hour talking to my dh telling him about the trip and what it means to have the support of each of you day and night 24/7.  I relayed to him that yes...he is very supportive to me and takes all of the stress off of me that he can but he can't fully understand the journey that we go down as we fight this damm disease and it is important that we can talk to others that have experienced this themselves as only they truly understand what we go through.  Of course he hasn't gotten all of the credit receipts from this trip yet Laughing  But no worries, he wanted me to go on this trip and he will pay for my trip next year.

Laura is right there!!!  Quinn and I got to our room at 5am yesterday morning and my alarm on my phone went off at 5:50....lol  It's set at that time m-f so I can wake my youngest up for school.  Well I called to wake her up...poor thing she got all ready and out to the bus stop at 6:30.....and after waiting awhile the bus still didn't arrive...so she went back home and realized it was a 2 hour late start.  Poor thing.  LOL  However I didn't have a prob getting back to sleep, but unfortunately missed breakfast with you girls by the pool.  :-(
