Shelia hoping the tea helps and the sore throat goes away without any more problems.  Thanks for the prayers for Amanda,  say lots PLEASE, if they are approved should know by Wednesday AM and move-in date can be 10/9.  Hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel.

The suggestion for parenting classes was well taken,  the problem with that is all this NEW AGE PARENTING, they hear and read about,  telling a child  NO makes for aggression in a child -  BS!!! In my book.   I was raised in a different day and age,  while I don't necessarily believe in taking a child out behind the wood shed -  I do believe in  firm ,  fair and consistent discipline and rules.  Oh well just my old school ways I guess.

OMG, Cathi!  Your Jaclyn story sounds like a segment on Grays Anatomy!  Bizarre!  I'm glad she's okay.

Yippee on the update regarding Amanda!  I'll pray they are approved and can move in on 10/1!

    Hope you're feeling better, Sheila.

    Hugs,

    Hi ladies!

Cathi...B movie for sure! Or, a lifetime movie..with many twists and turns. I am so glad that Amanda and family may be in their own place very soon!! We will send up prayers that that will all go well! Poor Jacyln! Omg....what a freak accident!  On the parenting.  I am adding on a link here. This man is so amazing!! I actually went and listened to him speak once on child rearing!! He does not like all the "new age books" on how to parent!! It's interesting. Check out his web page, maybe it will help, esp. if Amanda and SIL read it!

    http://www.rosemond.com/

here is his quote for the day!

You can't teach a child how to act without also teaching the child what you want him to think. It's called passing on your values, which you cannot do by mincing either words or action.

Barbe, Danni does have so much to offer any company.  Her boyfriend and my future son in law (not official yet) Adam's mother is pretty much high up in the affiliate company she interviewed with, and she wanted her to interview for the job.  She said, the interview's went very well. She interviewed for 3 1/2 hrs!!!  She then had a phone interview today with a woman.  She was a little dissapointed after that. She said it seemed like they were looking for someone with knowledge in medical billing and coding as well.  I told her, heck that is easy, you could pick that up in no time! The head interviewer emailed Adam's mom yesterday after the interview and said...Wow...very impressive!! So, that is a good sign!! Keep those prayers going!!! Thanks!

Sheila..hope you are feeling a little better. Sounds as if we may have the same thing. I started this morning with a scratchy throat, then coughing, and achy now. Very, very tired!  I told Tony, I don't want to be sick when you come to see me this weekend.  He said, well if you are, we will just stay in, take it easy, and I will be your nurse maid!! So sweet....I love this man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa I love that quote about teaching your child how to act and passing on your values, it is so true. And Cathi, I did take my son out behind the wood shed a time or two when he got really out of control and everyone says that he is a perfect gentleman.

thanks all for your comforting words. Like I said I get this every year if not twice a year, and I am trying to keep it from settling in my chest. If it gets that far, I need antibiotics due to my scoliosis effecting my lung function to prevent pneumonia. I have stocked up on chicken soup at the house and had a bowl of Wendy's chili for lunch. Anything steamy to help the sinuses stay open.

Sheila, if I get a cold that settles in my chest, I too, am stuck with it for the winter!

I only taught my kids TWO things:

Always pay attention to what is going on around you at all times. (No car accidents, or I don't know how that happened...)

Respect other people's PROPERTY. (Some people don't deserve respect. I didn't want them to get confused.)

And of course, my kids turned out perfect! Laughing

Barbe  your a riot!!!!!!!  Shelia my kids also did get a good swat or two - they didn't turn out PERFECT , but I never had any fear of taking them out in public or shopping or out to eat,   they knew how to behave.  Lisa thanks for the link,  I am ordering the book ASAP. Maybe they will read it,  but they are most likely  too into all the new parenting crap.  I enjoyed the info myself however.  When Ed and I have a child (LOL) it will be put to good use.  Oh yeah thats right  - you have to be able to have sex to have a baby.

I find it interesting to watch my own son parent his children. He and his wife do set out expectations for behaviour and don't allow the kids (ages 2 & 4) to run wild. When there are issues, my son and DIL remain calm but firm. All the recent parenting sessions I've seen call for establishing parameters for behaviour. Kids test at all ages so parents need to provide consistent guidance. Hopefully, Cathi, your grandchildren will benefit from the guidance you and Ed are providing. Grandparents rock!!!

Thanks Helen,  I really love being a grandparent,  but it does not stop me from worrying about things at all.

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT - Great news,  they have been approved on their apartment, move in date 10/9. I can do this - I can do this for 2 more weeks.  I will admit I am worried for DD and Landen though,  I completely dislike the SIL more and more everyday,  not just his parenting,  HIM in general,  he is a nasty,  phony creep,  they will be close enough though.

Ulla!!!! glad to hear you are doing well and able to visit your mother. The picture shows the love you have for each other.

It's about time the doctors realized that you were depressed and gave you something for it. congrats on passing the Swedish National test.

Don't worry about the scars, they will fade. the scars from my surgeries in 2007 are almost faded to natural color (not pink)

Oh my gosh!  Our sweet Ulla is back!!!!!!!!!!  It's so wonderful to hear from you!  I was beginning to think you didn't love us anymore Cry.  I'm glad to hear that you were finally diagnosed with depression.  You should have been taking medication for it a long time ago!  Congratulations on passing your test.  How exciting!  I love the picture of you with your mom.  I can see where you get your beauty!  Your hair looks great!  How wonderful that you were able to take a nice, long vacation in Baghdad.  Did your husband go with you?

Please don't stay away so long again!  We missed you so much.

Oh girls I hate to sound horrible but YES-YES-YES I am counting the days. 15 .  Then that mother part of me has already begun to worry,  can they do this on one income,  and I really ,  really don't like SIL,  I worry about that,  but they are close enough that we can be there in just 10 minutes,  but to far away for them to walk over everyday.  They got approved for 1st mo free rent,  not due until 11/1,  just a $295 security deposit and deposit to have lights turned on $200,  so costing way less than we thought,  and it's a very,  very nice place - of coarse it will be TRASHED in just a few days - LOL.

I can see a light, I am calling tomorrow to schedule the carpet/upholstery cleaner and hire the maid for a day Ed has promised me.  YIPPIE -  I smell,  see and feel clean and organized in my very near future.

Hello ladies, it has been awhile. Cathi, glad you will get peace in 15 days. Nancy just try to hang in there and keep to yourself. Prayers and ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))). Lisa you sound great, glad you found someone. I just skimmed throught the posts and let me just say this, nobody is allowed to complain about their football team untill they break the LIONS record for losing the most consecutive reg season games!!!! Born and raised in Detroit, moved to Tampa( at least they have one Superbowl win) but they have never been a good team.

Work has been very stressful this year, I am already counting down to the end of the year. 22 days down and 165 to go. I should be counting down to the next 4 day week.

Ulla! You bring tears of joy to my eyes. You are so beautiful. I love the photo of you and your mom. What more can I say? Your news is wonderful, life begins anew.

And a new life for Cathi! Hope is in the air. Breathe deeply everyone!

    Here's my new life:

Jasper is six months old, totally housebroken, has learned sit, lie down, and come. I'm working on leash training and he doesn't pull about 20% of the time. He'll get it. He's very calm for a Schnauzer and never barks. I have to walk him four times a day so I can't isolate quite as much as I have been. Sometimes I don't leave my apartment for days...no more. Agnes the cat is very unhappy. She  prefers being the only child. I am hoping that changes over time. The cat and dog are about the same size.

Oh my- lots of good news tonight!

Ulla- so good to see you back sweetie! So glad to hear the doctors have been able to help with the depression- it will make a big difference. Too bad it took so long for them to do something about it. Congratulations on passing the tests..great accomplishment, I hope you celebrate. What a lovely picture, thanks for sharing that with us. I think there are things you can do to help minimize the scars...some of these ladies might know (I did not have any surgery).

    Cathi- soon, very soon.  Laughing

Towhee ...Jasper looks so sweet and sounds like a great companion (Agnes will adjust). No more hiding away for you!!

What a cutie Judie,  Agnes and Jasper will soon be buddies, took Margo and Roxie several weeks,  but now they are chums and play together very well.  Hope the barking stays as is,  Margo didn't bark at fiirrst either,  now if she is out front and see's another dog pass by (and there are always walkers) she barks her head off,  we are working on HUSH with her,  but with the crazy house lately,  things have been let go a bit.  I think Jasper is just what the DR. ordered for you,  good for you to get out daily,  although I do not envy you when your winter weather begins again.  Make him one of your wonderful sweaters.

Ulla - wonderful to see you again! I'm so glad your doctors have finally shown some sense and given you antidepressants. Congratulations on passing your test! Great to hear you are getting DIEP - the scars will fade and you will feel whole again. I love the photo of you and your mum - you are both beautiful!

Nancy - so sorry to hear of the trouble with your brother. It's bad enough that you are grieving for your father and you shouldn't have to put up with his c#*p!

Lisa - I'll bet your counting the hours and minutes as well!

Cathi - what a relief! I'm so glad they found their own place - it will be wonderful to get your house all clean and fresh again - and have some you time!

    Love to you all

Well Barbe not sure,  the 9th is just the day  the complex gave them to move in?????  But 3weeks or 4 they are getting their own place,  I am counting each and every second.

The current tenents probably have to be out by 12:01AM on the 1st, and the complex probably needs a few days to clean, paint, assess and repair any damage by the current tenents before they let new tenents move in.

Yes, counting down the hours now!! Only 20 hrs to go!!! We already have lots of plans.  Even though I have been feeling under the weather.  I just have the same symptoms as everyone else around here and at home.  Sore throat, headache and tired.  But....I still can't wait to see him!! We will go out tomorrow night, after we eat the dinner I am making.  My friend Kim will come with us, probably to a club, dancing.  Then on Saturday morning we are going to go watch my Matthew play soccer.  This way his parents get to meet Tony.  Then we may head up to Cleveland to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I have never been. I am so thrilled to be with someone who loves to do things!

I am going to do an ACS BC walk in Orlando at the end of October.  Tony is going to fly with me, we are staying at Olivia's and she and her roommate will walk the 5k with us!!  He has never been to Florida, so we will more than likely hit the beach as well.

I have found my soulmate ladies!! NO DOUBTS IN MY MIND!!!

Judie...I think Jasper is going to be good medicine for you sweetie!! I see it already!! So glad you have him!!

Getting ready to leave work.  Go grocery shopping..no food at my house! Then do some cleaning, and off to bed to rest up for my guy! lol

    xoxo
