Are you listening to NPR this morning?? There's an author reading his short story about spending time @ the Chicago Art Institute..... Took me right back to our magical day there, together. FUN day. So grateful that you planned it for us. -
Thinking of you today Saint. Hope it's been a good Sunday for you.
(((( Saint ))))

Hugs & thanx all--well- I DID make it 9 days & had another trans on fri nite---thank God for my personal nurse/angels that always seem to find a spot for me even when over-booked!
I spent the day in bed Sat watching a ridiculous marathon & did not feel well yet this AM--thank God our choir director is so empathetic---he just told me to sit if I needed to....feeling somewhat unsure of this last week on xeloda----if I can go 10 days I'll stay on it! I have felt better since we went out for breakfast---fingers crossed for the last week of this plan--pray for 10 days or more b4 the next trans!
Hugs--be well & stay strong--btw--I have NEVER been photogenic & am concerned about the photo shoot I just did for dh........will see on Tues if the best photog in town could work his magic!

Saint......'You Are So Beautiful'...........
Edit to say........sheesh, for once, could I post without an edit?
-
Hey there darlin. I don't come to the discussion boards very much, but saw this post and had to see what was up. I hurt for you that you've had such a rough time lately. Time to hang up my ornament on the bookcase and channel hugs and healing to you my friend. You know you're never far from my thoughts even if I don't get in touch as often as I should. Love you Dorothy. (For others reading, don't worry...Saint knows what that means!!)
-
You are in my thoughts and prayers
Saint you are such a loving person.
God bless you.
-
It's Monday...........phone call day ((((Saint)))).
-
Good morning Saint!! Sure hope you had a good weekend and your week starts off with loads and loads of strength and umph!
Hey Sharon......do you remember the days of "party lines". When several people in the community would have to share a phone line. Sure wish we had one on Mondays for the famous Saint & Faith call. I think we could be encouraged, prayed for, lifted up, have some giggles, ball our eyes out, and maybe get a new menu and even a fashion show in between.
(((((( Saint))))) - You ARE a SAINT!!
-
Awwwwww. Coonie, tooooo true about the 'party line' conecpt -- maybe we need to figure out how to set up a conference call.
Today's update, from a three installment, all afternoon marathon conversation:
Saint's transfusion of Fri night has not given her the typical "lift" that she's received from the others. In the past that "lift" has been anywhere from a couple days to several days to the occaisional several days plus -- of feeling strong/rejuvinated. She is working hard @ not allowing her imagination to get ahead of itself (as to why this one has not had the bounce?? We laughed that it must not have been the wrestler's blood this time -- must have been an anemic granny, who only drove to church on Sundays blood.)
Most of our l-o-n-g conversation had to do with daughters, hers & mine. We also spoke of the various family dynamics that make for interesting fireworks from our families of origin.
We covered a multitude of 'real life' partenting issues today. I am sending Saint an honorary Doctorate of Psychiatry -- for her brilliant insights.
The initial phone call had to be interupted so that she could go to her hospital for previously scheduled apt w/rads doc. He says all is well from his perspective (he has no insight into the transfusion issue.) We picked up the conversation after her appt.
We are praying that the current treatment either leaps to making REAL progress -- or that she's coming to grips with changing treatment plans, with the inevitable s.e. of baldness #3. This is a big QOL issue & she's wrestling with the very real possibility of returning to the bare head.
(Add prayers for insight, acceptance, bravery on the hair s.e.)
We laughed about "pooping in the potty" (WB is having an epiphany on conquering this hurdle!)
We brainstormed over high school politics.
We pretty much covered the water front today, gals.
She's so grateful to everyone for continued prayers. She forgot to run her errands (picking up prescription & a few groceries, so she was headed back out to get that crossed off her list, in case she starts feeling worse.)
We talked at length about her being an "inspiration" and what that means..... I attempted to lecture her that she needs to accept people saying such things -- at the very least, that she is a good role model/example. LOL. Not sure I made my point well, but it was an interesting tangent.
-
Ooohhhh I hate to hear the transfusion didn't last as long. Maybe some of Faithie's blood......just one little vile.......could get Saint going for MONTHS!!! Or maybe Faithie could give all of us a vile of her blood.....hehe. Hey, ship me some overnight Faithie. I've got alot to do and need more energy:)
Big hugs and prayers to you Saint!!! Praying for answers to your situation. I'm sorry about the hair thing again.....If I lived closer, I'd shave mine just so you wouldn't be alone.
I sure wish an overnight cure would happen so all of our sistahs didn't have to go through this junk!!
What can I do for you Saint? I wish I lived closer.........I'd cook, clean, walk the dog, bathe the dog.....ANYTHING! So sorry you're going through this!
((((((( Saint )))))))
-
SCARECROW!!!!!!! Big hugs & smiles---Are you going to Fla in Nov???? I'll have to call you soon!!!!!!!
I can't think of anything that anyone could do for me better than praying! No matter WHAT happens, prayer makes it all easier & that's what I want---an easier acceptance of what I think comes next.......
You continue to support & raise me up---I love you ALL
& I AIN"T NO SAINT!!!!!!!!
Be well & stay strong
-
You are 'our' Saint.
-
Saint you always have our prayers. I think you got a man couch potatos blood. You need a tough kick butt persons. I am sending you good vibes and love....
-
Oh Saint, It was nice to hear about your Monday call with Faith. The two of you just keep me laughing and praying. I am so glad you were able to help w/ insights in parenting issues. I am sorry you may have to loose you hair again. I am sending you ((((((HUGS and PRAYERS))))).
I will be heading to Las Vegas for the 1st Reunion of the TA TA Sisterhood and will be off line until next week. I wish you well and rest and eat well, hope you receive the blood of a tough kick butt person in your next transfusion.
Your Friend.
Cheryl

Oh what a fun day I've had today.
I made my first visit of the new school year -- to one of my old & regular settings. The kids were soooooo excited to have me return. The administrators surprised me by adding a slot for some of their wee, teeny ones..... a group hovering right around 12 -15 months of age. Their eyes were as big as saucers!!!
Then errand running.
I just left you a message, Saint..... I wanted you to sleep well tonight. I have scrapped my hand-made "bird cage" and am fortunate that there was enough time for the bridal boutique to have one delivered by the end of this week. Now I can exhale & cross that off the list.
Maybe we should 'screen' all future blood donors for your transfusions. We only want the athletes that can sustain the marathon length of effort that you're running.
Hmmmmmm.
Big hugs. I think I'll just cyber-veg for the rest of the afternoon.

Good morning.
Good Wednesday morning.
Starting my day, thinking of you dearie.
Wonder, wonder, wonder what's happening on the center stage -- with that leading man???
Hope that you can navigate thru that one with no unneeded fireworks.
Big hugs to you sweet saint, our sister.
Big hugs to you sweet saint-sisters.
We're holding her up. Together.

PreDawnWakeUpCall&PrayerTime.
What else would I be doing at this hour?
Making a list of wedding details?
Nah.
Praying for you brings me some modicum of contribution.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
I did sleep soundly last night, if not long -- soundly is good.
-
Saint, sure wish I could have joined you in that nap time yesterday. I could bring Lucky and Opie and maybe Alphie (is that is name) would welcome them. We could have a whole bed of nappers.
Hope you're feeling good today after your rest. Sending you lots of prayers and hugs today!!! Hope it's a blessed one!
-
Can I bring my four legged kids too. Sending you positive
thoughts and prayers. Take care, Footprintsangel
