Even if your brothers say it's just because their upset that Dad died, that's not true. You mentioned they were like this before!
-
Nancy I feel your pain right now, both with the loss of your dad and living in complete chaos and clutter, well mine is no longer clutter it is out and out filth, Barbe you are pretty funny and just what I need this AM, thats about the only thing Ed MIGHT get upset over -LOL, even then he remains calm, I lost complete control last night after yet another object was broke, not at Landen though how can you be mad at a 1 year old, he knows no better, I swear he already knows our limits (me & Ed) we have no issues if he is alone with us, my daughter is bad enough but the SIL- *&^%$%$#@, A-HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And afyet the candle holder got broke he had F-in nerve enough to say to Amanda well your mom and Ed don't have the house baby proofed enough, I LOST IT, my office and computer should be off limits yet you take him in and let him pound on the keyboard, an office that has a closed door all the time, he has torn books that are on a book shelf he is unable to get to unless an ADULT allows him access, YOU gave him a glass bottle of nail polish which he dropped and broke on my tile floors, shattered to pieces - poor baby was covered in polish and thank goodness did not get cut. My house does not need to be baby proofed it needs to be adult proofed. So he says to me " well I'm just trying to be a COOL DAD" I was so freakin mad I had to walk away, what the hell are they thinking they are going to have a newborn in the house in a few months, I guess it will be ok for Landen to pick her up and drop her on the tile - JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NANCY I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU. RANT AWAY MY FRIEND.
-
Barbe, I'd move right now, but the financial end of things have to be settled from my father's estate in order for me to be able to afford to buy something. I'm not really interested in forking out $1700 a month rent for an apartment. I'd do it if it was a mortgage...then at least I'd feel like I was building equity. But not rent.
And I'm still not sure what my expenses will be for the recon. So moving at this time isn't feasible. But come the first of the year, I will be looking at places. There's a trust fund for us that will be distributed by then (not part of the estate/will).
Meanwhile, I will just squirrel myself away in my room and not spend any time in his presence.

On the order of GOOD NEWS...I had my port removed today!!!! Hooray! I feel lighter.
-
Nancy, congrats on having the port removed. Like you, I felt a lot lighter without it
Cathi, hope you don't have to put up with them much longer or it could be detrimental to your health and well being. Is there a time frame/schedule by which time they have to move out? It might be easier to bear if you were at least counting down the days.....just a thought
-
Dear sisters...thank you....I think this happiness will definately continue!! I do think he is my soulmate. He said, he has NEVER felt this with anyone, not the connection we have in and out of the bedroom! lol. Not even his wife of 15yrs. I said, Tony..have you ever been with an Italian woman? He said no, and I said, and I have never been with an Italian man....I think that is part of the Key!!
Judie....I wish I could become an ebay queen! lol. I am glad you got together with your daughters and saw your portion of the ocean! I love the ocean!
Cathi...poor Ed...well, you can take care of him in other ways!!
Me bad girl! lol
Nancy...still sending loving comfort to you.
Karen, I love your new avatar...Portia, is such a doll!
Say a little prayer for my Danni, she has a BIG interview today for a GREAT job in Chicago. She said, she really isn't qualified for it, due to lack of experience, so it depends on what she is up against. I told her, you interview well, you are articulate, smart as hell...you will do well!! Her interview is at 1pm Chicago time!! She so deserves it. It's with the Govt...and finding out insurance fraud....so the pay will be good, and the benefits...great, I am sure!! Oh please Lord....if this is the job for her...I pray she gets it.
Ok, ladies, back to work!!
I will find one of the emails I recieved from Tony...just so you can get an idea of what a sweetheart this man is!
xoxo
Lisa
-
I don't think he would mind if I shared this email. This is from prior to our meeting!!
I know this, you are already on the way to being my favorite gal. And, I also have no doubts at all that you could be the best friend and lover that I'm been looking for. Wouldn't be nice to spend weekends together up in the mountains,
Tony
P.S. Do you realize how fine you are to me? I want you to know that I have allot of love in my heart to give to the right woman. I think you are a keeper. If you're ready to open your heart and give your love to the right man, I think I could be that man you've been looking for,And...he is that man!!
xoxo

Yes we did have a time frame on moving, but sometimes life and God hands us things we have no control over, SIL actually got laid off from the job he had sense the second week he was here, he already has another, but the apartment they were going to get (we were paying for first mo & security) won't except that as income proof until he has been there a month. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!
I could put them in a place tomorrow but not a place I really want my grandchildren or daughter for that matter living. So I am biting bullets as best I can, Nancy you and I can squirrle away together, I am spending more and more time behind closed office doors.
-
Somehow, I missed all of the above posts!! Sorry...still floating! lol
Nancy, I have to agree with the others!! Don't you wonder sometimes how you both came from the same parents?? I understand the financial part, and why you have to wait. I agree, just keep your distance from the lunatic!! ((((Nancy)))))
Cathi...omg...you must have patience girlfriend, because I think SIL would have been walking around with a dagger in his back! lol..just kidding! What an ass he is. Obviously a lousy parent, and no respect for you at all! ((((Cathi))))
Barbe...get those visions out of your head of Ed.!!!
xoxo

Hi sisters, not much news here. Just bopping along. Got home from the cruise and we had a good time. The Chargers looked awful in their first game, and won it, then, in the second game, they looked real good, and lost!
Loveyou all, Shirlann
-
Well Shirlann our Tampa Bay Bucs looked awful both games and lost both games - of coarse, think they are for sure gonna have a terrible season, but one bit of good luck for me, I won the football pool Ed does at work and with his Vendors (he did my picks) invested $5 won $85 not a bad deal.
Oh Lisa the SIL does have daggers in his back, he is such an ass, I see right through his phony fake "Mr Wonderful" act he puts on in front of Ed, Oh I am so evil I guess, he reminds me so much of my EX, UGH!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi Shirlann! So glad you're back home safe and sound. I have a feeling you have fun no matter what you're doing. You're just that type of person. That's why we love you so much!
Big hugs are going out to Nancy and Cathi. Nancy, that brother of yours is a piece of work! I understand being upset over your dad's passing, but that doesn't give him the right to threaten you! You're grieving too, and you shouldn't have to deal with that sort of behavior! Hang in there. I wish you could get out of there now. Congrats on getting the port removed! Doesn't it feel great?
Cathi, what kind of idiot gives a baby a bottle of nail polish to play with?? Especially if there are tile floors in the house? Unbelievable! That SIL of yours needs a good throttling!! I cannot believe that they are being so disrespectful when you and Ed are being so gracious. Grrrrr....
The e-mail from Tony is so sweet, Lisa. He seems so romantic! That's a pretty rare thing. Neither my ex or Rhuel are romantic. They have other wonderful qualities, I guess. I'm still envious, but soooo happy for you! I'll say a little prayer for Danni. I'm sure that she'll make a wonderful impression, regardless of her lack of experience.
I have some more good news regarding Portia. She was cast in her school's winter production of "Harvey". It's the story about the guy who sees the 6'3" rabbit. I'll have to rent and watch the Jimmy Stewart version again. It's been ages since I've seen it.
Have a great day everyone!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Karen..."Harvey" was the school production my senior year in high school. I worked on costumes and make-up! I always loved the ending...so cute.
Lisa...whoa! And that doesn't mean stop. It means WAY TO GO! Does he have an older brother in the NYC area? (Not too much older, lol)
Shirlann...let's hear more about the cruise. Really, you are our world traveler.
-
Exactly Karen - what kind of idiot - when it broke I said see thats why we don't give babies Glass, again he wants to be the COOL DAD and make his son happy, A-Hole, I don't mean to sound like I don't love Landen, I really really do, we have actually become quite attached, and like I said when they are not home we have a grand time, NO means no, he knows his limits with us pretty much, get this we don't allow any smoking in our house but out on the front patio is ok for family and friends so we have some glass ashtrays out there on tables, anyway of coarse Landen has tried several times to get them one night Bill says maybe we should by him a plastic ashtray because he seems to like ashtrays - WTH, he likes anything he is one you idiot, Bill espically just does not get it - nothing that has been broken is Landens fault, it's yours because you just let him have what ever he see's - he's one he wants it all - it does not mean it's ok or safe.
-
Cathi, he is an idiot for not wanting to hurt his son's feelings and be the 'cool dad'. I suppose that if he saw Landon picking up a pack of cigarettes he would volunteer to light one up for him because Landon wants it? I know too extreme example but that is the way I see your sil's reasoning. When I stayed with my mom from the time John was 3 months old until he was 5 yrs old, she left some of her glass figurines out we just told him no enough times that he would leave them alone. We were consistant with our boundries which is the problem with Landon's father and mother, but it sounds like you and Ed are consistant. After I met Donald (John was 10), he too wanted to be the cool dad but knew that children need limits and he could be the cool dad within those limits. He was actually stricter on John than I was but his friends at the explorer post all loved Donald and myself and we were known as the 'honorary Mom and Dad'.

Oh boy Cathi, sure hope every thing straightens out soon (for every one's sake!) Hang in there.
Karen- sounds like things are going well for Portia..Harvey is a great play. I remember seeing it on Broadway w/Helen Hayes and Jimmie Stewart -- very good!!
Lisa- enjoy sweetie.
Hugs to everyone
-
I can relate, Sheila. Portia and I lived with my parents from the time she was 14 months old until she was four. My mom never put away any of her breakable things in an effort to "baby proof" the house. We were just very consistent about telling Portia that those were Oma's pretty things and were not to be touched. She never broke anything, and I don't feel like we were being mean or "not fun" because of this.
You can show you SIL this post, Cathi. LOL!!
Hugs,
Karen

I should say this about my mom's living room, she has a free standing wood stove with smooth rocks (about fist size) around the hearth area under the wood stove on top of the fire brick on the floor. John loved to pick up the rocks and carry them around the house. When it was winter, we had a 6 sided baby play yard (no bottom and flexible to shape) that we put around the wood stove to keep John from getting too close to the hot stove and playing with the rocks. The sides were short enough for my dad reach over to stoke the stove but high enough to keep John away from the danger. That was one thing we could't keep him away from when it was hot. There are a few areas that do need to be baby-proofed but not every area, they just need to know their limits.
Sheila
-
Yep, we had a baby gate up to keep her off the stairs. That was about it though.
-
AMEN Karen and Shelia, my thoughts exactly, I hate to compare daughters, but again Jaclyn and her children have always known what was ok and what was not, like you said consistant boundries, but poor Landen what ever head way Ed and I make with him is blown away in seconds by mom and mostly dad, Amanda being here all day with me I think she is starting to see NO is ok and picking up on some of it. Shelia your example was not at all extreme because I used a similar one with a gun with SIL to no avail I suppose.
I never lived with my mom whan my girls were little, nor did any of my siblings but between 5 children with 16 grandchildren and a few great grandchildren all in one house for holidays nothing was touched that should not have been nor broken.
So sorry for boring you gals with my complaints but this is my release right now, Love my Ed - buttttttttttttt he just keeps saying it will all work out, SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
Children do not need more friends, or cool parents. They need moms and dads that will keep them safe and alive until it is time to move on to their own lives (18-21 ish). As I told my children- they don't have to like me, I'm their mom and I love them so much they can hate me. No means no.
Hate to say it Cathi but Ed is right; it will all work out, have faith and come here to vent!
-
This may be a foolish suggestion, Cathi, but would they be willing to attend parenting classes? Certainly with another little one on the way, and possibly with special needs, would they be willing to participate so that they will know how to manage with 2. Many public libraries or schools or community agencies offer such classes for a very low cost.
-
Lisa, she wouldn't have gotten the interview if they didn't see something in her resume! Keep us posted!
Nancy, I totally understand! I couldn't move on my own right now if you put a gun to my head!
Cathi, give me your SIL for one week. ONE WEEK. He will return a changed man. I promise. I don't have to like him and he doesn't have to like me. He isn't married to my daughter! That's why boot-camps are so effective...heheheheheheh
Lisa, soulmate.

Well girls life gets crazier and crazier, Jaclyn called at 7AM on her way to the ER, she had chicken for lunch yesturday - Rotisserie, she said she thought at the time she was eating she might have swallowed a bone, went through her day with no problems I guess, just felt a tingle/scratch in her throat, she woke up this AM to get the kids ready for chool & daycare and the entire side of her left throat was swollen , all scratchy feeling and she could hardly swallow, she looked in the mirror and there stuck through her tonsil is a chicken bone - CRAZY, she is in the ER right now, every DR and nurse is amazed, she just called and said the entire hospitla keeps coming in to look down her throat, anyway so far the DR is not sure how large the bone is (x-rays needed) if it's small he might be able to pull it out, if not?????? The ER DR said he has never seen anything like it - I'll keep you posted
-
Oh Cathi! You read like a B-movie.....hehehehehhehe
When I first saw the ER word in your post I didn't even see Jaclyn's name and was afraid it was Amanda!
Keep us posted. Sounds like she will be fine, but what a pain!
I went to the ER once with a sewing machine needle right through my finger. With the thread still on! Everyone walked by to take a look until I finally put a towel over it and I guess they would feel too rude to ask to see it. Thank goodness it was a new needle and not dull...I left with a bandaid. The freezing before the "pull out" hurt more than anything. Fingers are really bony and there is no soft tissue to put the needle in. The freezing needle, not the sewing needle. If you know what I mean.
-
Well Jaclyn just called, it's out, they sprayed and froze her throat and pulled it out- YUCK, she said the DR said thank goodness it was in the high part of the tonsil or she might have had to had a surgery to remove the entire tonsil, she is anti chicken now, she just took a picture with her phone and sent it to me of the bone - GROSS.
Maybe I should make a movie Barbe, at least I might get some $$$$$$ from all the crap lately. LOL
-
Oh my---Cathi !!
-
Cathi, you need to hire a new writer...your soap opera is getting so strange no one will believe it and you'll lose your audience! LOL
What an amazing experience. Is Jaclyn feeling better or will it take a while for things to heal? Hang in there!
Judie
-
Jaclyn feels fine - except she has a hard time speaking - WHAT A BLESSING - LOL, she actually went to work when they released her, has to take antibiotics for 7 days but she is fine.
Judie you are right, my life is a BAD SOAP OPERA as of late. Anyway maybe somemore postive news, the kids are checking into an apartment about 5 miles from here, nice place that is offering first month free special with a $300 down security deposit, keeping my fingers crossed, if they are approved they can mone 10/1 and pay no rent until 11/1, saves me some $$$$ - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Cathi, good news about both of your daughters. I will pray that Amanda gets approved for that appartment.
Speaking of speaking, I woke up this morning at 3:00 am with the horrible sore throat that makes it hard to talk, today it is still sore which makes it hard to answer the phone at work. It is the back of the throat and I know it is my bi-annual sinus problems. I am drinking hot green tea or peppermint tea today in hopes of keeping the sinuses from becoming infected I have had 3 cups so far this morning! and running to the bathroom inbetween each cup
. as well as eating throat longzes/peppermints. Just trying to stay out of the doctor's office.
