JO, go to the PInkstock thread.  My 2 pink bras are there.   I can't post pictures.   We did it for fun for Pinkstock.

I am using my Knifty Knitter to make myself a shawl.   Keeps my fingers busy and something to do while I sit with my morning coffee out on my patio slab.   I also have a couple of can covers in the works.   If holly can post pics, maybe she can post them.

Spar, our art bra project is done by the local women at the wig bank and support group for the NC Foothills Komen for the Cure luncheon the end of the month. We are having a 'fashion show' at the luncheon with a local dance team modeling them (with black turtleneck tops on underneath) and the local arts council has been approached to display them during the month of October. About sleazy, the one I am doing with the 'Charlie's Angels' theme has a row of rhinestones along the neck of the purple satin covered bra, white beaded fringe around the bottom and 3 lace angels adorning the front - my son said that it looks like a burlesque dancing top. But the original Charlie's Angels TV show always had a bit of glitz and glamor on it. and the name of the dinner is 'Glitz and Glamor - uplifting through support'. I can't post pictures at work (photobucket gave my computer a cold and is now banned) but I will see if they will put the pictures of the bras on the wig bank web site after the show.

I too keep more than one project going at a time like Spar said, sometimes I feel like quilting, sometimes like crocheting, sometimes like doing the bras (2 of them at once).

EWB, thanks for the welcome back.  It is wonderful to be back.

lavenderandlace, did you have to rip out half of your blanket and start over?  How did it turn out?

hollyann, I would love to see pictures of the can covers.

I think the artful bras are really cool if they can raise money for bc and have a lot of fun doing it.

I was wondering about costuming, what exactly is that?  Do you pick an icon and then make that costume yourself?

Lefty, I did buy a knifty knitter kit and when I get ready to try it, I may have to get some pointers from you.

JO, my practical friend, are you done with the canning and freezing?  To me that is a craft in itself.  I bet your cooking is the best.

Happy crafting ladies, have a great day.

    Hi

Spar, glad to see you back.

I so enjoy this thread. I would love to do crafts more often but I don't know why I just don't find the time. I wonder what I do wrong with my time?

    Have a great day!

Here are my newest necklaces I made this past week.  But the next picture is the most amazing.

hollyann made me these beautiful perfect snowflakes.  I can just picture a pine or cedar with just crocheted snowflakes and lights with a bigger one on top.  I can just see it and smell it.  Thank you so much and a beautiful card that just made my day and a learn how to crochet book. Thank you so very much for your kindness.

Took granddaughter to the city and out to eat at chili's.  She is crying now with an ear ache.  Gave her some tylenol.  She has allergies really bad and I am hoping that is all it is.

Thank you candie, so glad you enjoy the thread.  I love it too.

Everyone, keeps those hands busy and have a happy crafting weekend with lots of fun and laughter.  I am getting lots of sweet little kid hugs.

Spar and Hollyann that snowflake and star is gorgeous. Hollyann, glad you are enjoying the directions I sent to you. When things start calming down around here, I will start crocheting snowflakes again. When I hang mine, I take a lenght of 1/8th inch ribbon in red or green and tie through the tip of the snowflake. I also have several 3-D Angels that I have crocheted and embellished with ribbons and pearls for tree toppers.
I am assisting my mother and her quilt guild this week, they are getting ready for their quilt show that they have every 3 yrs and mom took some upholstery samples/scraps from the guild to make 'green grocery' bags to sell at the botique. She asked me if I would make some since I have a good pattern that makes a good bag (not too big). I cut 6 out yesterday and got them mostly sewn up, just have to finish the top and sew on the handles. My art bras are almost finished, just a little bit of finishing touches to go and they will be finished.

Goodmorning my crafty friends.  EWB, you are so right, little kids hugs are the best.

Hollyann, glad your working again and boy you sound like me so many things going at the same time.

JO, I bet that was gorgous with the snowflakes hanging all around

Lvtwoqlt, gonna buy some of the small crochet thread and try my hand at making snowflakes, if I can learn that is what my tree will be decorated with this year.  They are just beautiful.

All of you have such a great talent.

We finally got enough okra from the garden that I could boil me some whole, it was wonderful.  I am the only one in my family that loves boiled okra, everyone else wants it fried.  We didn't do any canning but lots of freezing.

JO, I am going to try to post your pillows they are just too beautiful not to share.

    Evening friends,

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I had entered 5 items in our Michigan State Fair and picked them up yesterday.  I was very excited to see I had received 2 blue ribbons, one red, 1 4th place and one apparently was in the wrong class so it wasn't judged.  That one made me mad since I had signed a form saying they could "reclassify" it if it wasn't in the right class.  There were so many beautiful items that had been entered.  Our governor has decided that this is the last year the fair is to be held.  It is the oldest state fair in the country.  I have been attending since I was a baby and have so many memories.  It's really sad.

Hollyann, y9our snowflakes are beautiful.  I can't seem to get the hang of crocheting but I do knit.  I love seeing all the pictures of the wonderful crafts.  You are all so talented.

    Blessings,

    Wendy

Hi Wendy, hope to get to see some of your crafts.  Can you post us pictures of them?  I finished up 32 squares last night and today I am going to use hollyanns book and try to learn to double crochet around them.  It seems like if someone knits they can't crochet and it they crochet they can't knit.  Has anyone else noticed that?  My DH wants an orange hat before deer hunting season gets here, I am trying to make him one on the knifty knitter but I think I have got the thread too tight, am having trouble lifting it over the top.

Candy, hollyann, JO, EWB, Arnie, Wendy, lvtwoqlt am looking forward to more crafts from each of you.  I just love this thread and all the talent here. My friend Celia is really great at fixing photo's and she has been such a blessing in my life.

Sahalie, I wish you would come back and share more of your ideas.  You always have such an earthy idea to make great crafts

Jazzygirl, I am missing you and wondering if you got that pink and purple quilt done.  It looks so beautiful in the picture.

Everyone have a great crafty day.  Hugs.

Spar, my grandmother both knit and crocheted (right handed), taught my mother both (left handed), and my mother taught me crocheting (right handed). I tried knitting when I was in the 5th or 6th grade in a knitting club, but never kept it up so I don't remember anything. My sister-in-law wants me to teach her crocheting, I may just trade with her and have her teach me knitting Laughing. My sister knits a little and crochets a little. My son made the comment the other week that when he was in the Navy he couldn't believe that others around him wern't as creative as our family was and had to have things done for them. We always said if we wanted something made, we would figure out how to make it ourselves.

by the way, I did pick up my steel crochet hook and thread this morning and crocheted a snowflake before I came to work Smile. I found several snowflakes that I had finished (2 yrs ago) but not stiffened in my bag with the hook and thread. Lucy, you got me started again, just like popcorn, once you start, you can't put it down!

Tomorrow is 9/11.  If you have a flag to display, please put it out.   I will be going for my first once a year Zometa infusion, past the Pentagon and over into DC.   Got my flag sox and will be wearing red/white and blue outfit.    Will be thinking of all the victims and survivors and remembering especially my son's boss who was on the first plane to go down.    Hugs,   Nancy

Jo:  hugs and here's hoping a good result from the MRI.  Put a Wireless connector on your Christmas or Birthday list.  Then you can take the puter anywhere within a reasonable distance.

I had some troubles after trying to download Photobucket.   So I also deleted it all and will have to rely on word pictures.   My current project is a shawl on the Knifty Knitter.   I want it wider than the one "strip", so I have a friend who is going to crochet it together when I am done.

Hi All, I don't craft very often and nothing to brag about when I do.  Who knows once I get a brain back maybe I will try something new.

But as you know Spar made me a sorry shawl and sent it to me.   Spar I was wondering if we could rename it to a learning shawl, or human shawl, a BC sisters shawl?  Certainly not a sorry shawl because it was made with love and there was never any need for an apology.  We are human and we forgive.  Spar touched me so much, she made me something with love in her heart and you can tell, she entrusted me with something another dear friend of hers made, and quite a bit of handy things for my kids.

I love the shawl so much, I where it in between hot flashes, then I use the neck cooler~lol

    HUGS

Cherneski, I think a learning shawl would be perfect.  I am so glad you liked everything.  Sometimes someone comes along and just touches your heart and for me you were that person.  I care very much about you and your family and hope for the best.  If you do decide to start doing any crafts when your all done with treatment and feeling better we would love to see or hear about it.  You are just an absolute sweetie and I love ya.

Lefty, got to tell you when I was trying out the knifty knitter, I could only do a couple of rows at a time because my left hand would cramp up from having to pinch my fingers and hold out the thread to get the needle thing under the thread to pull it over the top.  Well, I cracked myself up after realizing that the plastic protection tip was suppose to come off.  LOL  After I got that off it was smooth sailing.  I kept thinking it is on there and around the curve it must be suppose to be on there.  how dumb is that?!

I haven't been using photobucket much anymore because it messes my computer up to but I do used yahoo and just right click on their images and copy to the post here.

Wendy and Sheila I am missing you guys on here.  Hollyann too.

Big Hugs and lots of love to all of you.  Keep those hands crafting.  God bless.

Cherneski, you keep on being your sweet self, I am learning from you.

spar, I can understand about the plastic cover thing.  Maybe it is a left brain right  brain thing -- I am left handed, so most instructions are backwards for me.   (notice the log in name...)

Let me update you on the Glitz and Glamour art bra show. I went yesterday afternoon to my son's former high school English and visual arts teacher and he was able to mix a CD with 16 different songs to play for the fashion show on the school's radio station computer. We have such a wide variety of music to go with the bras to be modeled. I will get to see all the bra's Monday night at our meeting before the show on the 26th. I will be taking picts of the bras on Monday night modeled on Druscilla (that is the name my sister gave to her mannequin for dress designing). I am hoping that the cancer facilitator will be able to put the pictures on the wig bank web site. If she is able to I will provide the link to view them.

Lefty, my mom (who is left handed also) knitted and crocheted with right hand instructions, she just followed the instructions with what was to be done with the right hand she did with the left hand. She hasn't knitted in years and only crocheted recently to finish a couple of wool afghans (granny square) that her mother started years ago and mom ended up with after cleaning out grandma's house.

Glad to hear about Theresa and not needing chemo or rads, that is what happened to me, I almost feel like I didn't have cancer.

Hi ladies and fellow crafters!!!  I haven't been here for awhile... had last chemo September 8 and laid me flat!!!  Then my blood counts went dangerously low...ugh!  Anyway, 2.2 wbc on Tuesday and 3.3 today!!!!  YEAH!!!   They were threatening to give me the Neuprogen shot but I begged and begged so I had to go back today..

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Michigan...  I had to get out into my workshop!!!  lol   I made a "free hat" tree for my chemo nurses as a thank you for their great care of me over the last many months.  Well today when we went to take it in...they loved it!!!  While I was getting my blood test they dressed it all up!  Scarf, hats everything!! lol  It felt good.  I'll take my camera next week.. but here are a few pics I took yesterday...

My cat Ralph had a good day outside too...lol

Anyway, have missed you all and hope everyone's doing well!!!  xoxoxo  arnie

I haven't being doing much crafting since I shattered my shoulder.  I certainbly have enjoyed your crafts - you clever women!

Arnie & Jo - I fell in the driveway on my way to my PT!  Honest to goodness this is ridiculous.  Thank the Lord I fell on the other side and only skinned an elbow and a knee.  Maybe I should just sit quietly in the house and not go out!

Arnie - I can't wait until my Oliver puts on weight and looks like Ralph!

    Happy crafting.

I have to share my idea for BC awareness next month.   The Senior Center I attend has a Mother Goose type figure that someone dresses up every month. This month there is a knitted bikini in Bright Brilliant orange.   So, I asked the Director (actually left her a message) if I can dress the Goose in Pink, using one of my "embellished bras" for the month of October.    Everyone in the office said it was a super idea, but the Director has to approve it.   The Annual Bazaar is also held in October, and maybe I can get a group of "older" survivors together.
