    Lisa,

I'm about 45 minutes away.  I hate going to Boston, I am such a country girl.  I have to take antianxiety meds before my doctors appointments so I can make it in there!  I'm closer to RI.  Who do you fly for?  My cousin is a NW pilot.(I think, they're out of MN?? Right?)  So is my neighbor!

Ladies September is just around the corner and it is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, then October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some communities have Torch hand off events from one month to the next.

Thinking of Lisa and hoping you're having a great time!!

As for the situation with my nephew, the SIL who's angry with me isn't even his mom!  His mom is my dh's youngest sister who's in prison herself for a drug-related conviction.  Frankly, I'm sort of glad that she's no longer my friend on FB.  She's kind of like a Jeckyl and Hyde type--nice one minute, and raging bitch the next.  This isn't the first time she's gotten in my face for something I've said.  I'm tired of walking on eggshells.  She lives in Oregon, so I rarely have to deal with her.  I may choose not to deal with her at all anymore.  She needs to pull that self-righteous stick out of her butt!

    Okay, I feel better!

    Love and hugs to all,

    Karen

Karen...gosh can I relate to your feelings about your sil. That is my oldest sister. She changed so much years ago. She took herself out of our family about 17 years ago..and Thank God!! She is negative, self righteous..better than you type person.  Our family is better off without her around. Sad to say..but very very true!! She  has even turned off her 2 adult sons..and the daughter in law..and if she doesn't watch...her 2 grandchildren. So I understand totally what you are talking about. I wouldnt' worry about her at all!

Last night's meeting (date) was ok.  Nice man..not really my type.  Had a few beers...conversation, although, I felt I needed to keep it going.  So...nothing really. But hey..you don't know till you try.

Cathi..hope you are feeling better today and not still locked in your office!!

Linda...I work for Airtran Airways, we have a direct flt to Boston.  I don't fly though...but I just can whenever I want too.  Is there transportation from the Boston airport (train) to where you are? If so, I wouldn't mind taking it.  Let me know.  I have no problems with big cities, country, traveling....

Going out with my g'f's tonight. It is the 5 of us who go out once a month. We are celebrating on of their b'days.  Going to eat at Bravo.  I told them I can't stay out late...I have to be back here at work at 4:30am!! And work until 4:30pm.  Then my friend Mike...I went out with him several times back in the spring..very very nice guy...asked me to go out tomorrow night. I told him..let's make it 8pm...so I can get a cat nap in after work!! I will be sooooooooooooooo tired by Friday.  12 days straight of work, and 3 nights out in a row. I am surprised right now...not feeling tired at all. I think because I started that dvd workout....I have allot more energy.

Ok..back to work...good day to all!

    xoxo

Hi sisters, I have not posted in sooo long, I am way behind in all the connections.  I was busy forming an answer for Cathi about the crib thing when I looked up and it was days ago!  I was lucky, I raised mine in the 50's and just gave them a bottle at bed time and never had a tear, no cavities either!  But sometimes dumb works.

I am sorry about the pets going.  IT is so hard.

We are leaving for Alaska on Monday, Frisco to Frisco roundtrip.  There are sure some deals out there.  I saw an LA to LA 7 day Mexican Riviera for $299.  This was an inside cabin but wow, what a deal.

Anyway, so good to see the sweet faces and read the posts.

    Gentle hugs, Shirlann

Lisa you are my hero!!!!! I used to be able to do all that when I was youger and single. You give me hope for when my kids are out of the house!!!!

Cathi, I hope you are doing better. I remember when my sister came to visit w/ her 2 boys, she had stuff everywhere, Thank goodness it was only a few days. I was single then and it was me and my grandma, so our appt was clean, neat and very orderly. Now I have kids, my place is still clean(no bugs and food around), but not very neat and orderly. Hopefully they will get their own place soon!!!!

    Good luck to all.

Shirlann!  How great to hear from you!  How exciting that you're going to Alaska.  You and Walt are my inspiration.  I love how you two are such the adventurous couple!  Have a safe trip!

Sorry that the guy you met last night was kind of a fizzle, Lisa.  I remember Mike though.  I remember that you liked him a lot.  Have fun on your date with him and with your gf's tonight as well!  Thanks for the supportive words regarding my SIL.  I'm at the point where I don't care if I ever see the woman again.  It used to hurt my feelings when people judged me and acted like they were better than me.  Since having cancer, I've decided that some people just aren't worth giving a shit about.  She's one of those people.

    Love and hugs to everyone!

Karen...I like your attitude girlie!!  I sooo agree with you!!

Lisa, you'll probably have a blast with Mike because he'll be like an "old" friend and you'll be so relaxed. You social butterfly you....Wink

Karen, I have people that I think of as "cancer" and I easily lop them out of my life now. Every once in a while I get emotionally defensive and wonder why they are like that to me and then a second later I don't give a shit again! Laughing

Shirlann, my son just finished his honeymoon on the inside passage! I can't wait to see pictures. He was upgraded to a penthouse cabin with a private deck as this is not his first cruise. I hope they made a babee! Smile

I do not have to work until Monday. We can not go on the computers at school and I am sure it will block anything that has breast in it. Of course at work I have a great "cancer" friend to talk with. She is the music teacher and had a double mast, TAH/BSO, chemo, rads and now tamoxifen.

I remember when I worked at Eckerd in Fl I would work 80hour weeks and still have time to go bar hopping and to concerts.

    Chat later!

Hi all...just popping in to say I'm still on vacation and trying to relax.

Cathi, my daughter and I had dinner at Crabby Bill's last night. I like their new menu, but they've taken down all the dollar bills! I asked the waitress about them and she said they did it around 9/11/01 and sent the money to help...but I swear I ate there about three years ago and didn't notice them gone. Whatever, the food's still good and there's always more than one thing I want to have, so perhaps we'll be making another visit before we leave. We're off to the Dali museum in St. Pete today.

Enjoy, Nancy!  I could really use a vacation (the stress of the house and my nephew are getting to me), but we probably won't have a real vacation for a while.  This house is totally tapping us financially.  Sigh.....it will be worth it though!

got some unsettling news today about my sister, the daycare where she works has cut everyone's hours to part time because the enrollment at that daycare is down due to the 16% unemployment in our county and the owner can't make full time payroll for everyone. She was working there full time and part time at a national pizza take out, her husband is one of the 16% out of full time work, he also has a part-time job at the grocery store stocking shelves. I don't know how they will make it on 3 part time incomes. I am making all my bills with very little left to help her out. We both need new roofs on our houses but nobody will loan us the money to fix our roofs. Just depressed today that's all and wanted to tell somebody about it.

Helloooooooooooooo all you lovely ladies and UB! Wow , I can't even catch up! I will try though...

Sheila , I am so sorry to read about Penelope's passing. I think she was our first "furbaby" here. She was a precious girl. I hope all the memories you have of your time together helps to heal the pain in your heart. Love you Sheila.ox

Jane , I just can't believe our dear , sweet Blossom is missing. I'm thinking maybe someone has taken her in. I'm so sorry. Praying she can find her way back to you. Love you Jane.ox

Cathi , Hugs to you and your daughter. Have you heard anything new about the baby's condition?

I have a half brother , and he is several years older that me , and he found out about 10 years ago , that he has a form of spina bifita. He never knew until he was having some back issues and the did an MRI. So he basically lived most of his life without even knowing he had it. So there are many different degrees of it. Praying for your sweet grandbaby.ox

Welcome Mary! Welcome Fran! So many new faces here. Thats great. The more the merrier!

Shirlann , so very good to hear from you! Bon voyage'! I heard only good things about the Alaska's cruises. Hoping you and Walt have a super time!oxoxo

AE , UB , where are you two? Hows things going in your neck of the woods?UB , hope you are gaining strength daily.oxoxo

Netts , Wren , Cheryl , hope you are all doing better. Wren , xanax is my drug of choice! Really helps me "even out" when I am feeling anxious. I pray you all will feel somewhat better as each day passes. It really does take time. But when you notice you are feeling better , oh , it is soooo good! God Bless you all.oxoxoxo

Lisa , you little vixen! You go girl! I think it is great that you are in the dating pool. Thats how you tell who you really want! And until you find the one you really want , you are surrounded by a lot of great people! I'm glad you are feeling better. And you sound like you have that "spark" of life back! Good for you! You are such a beautiful person , you so deserve to be happy and content. Keep on keeping on girl! oxooxx

Hi Nancy! So glad you and your daughter are spending sometime vacationing. Crabbys' sounds like a great place! Oh gosh , I sure hope you and Cathi can hook up!!!!!!!!!! That would be awesome. Hope your dad is settling in. Make some memeories!oxoxox

Markraz! Hey gir! Have your boys started back to school yet? I hope all is well with you and your family. oxooxo

Hi Karen!!! So glad you got your laptop. And GREAT news about the mammo and the building of the house. Wow , you have alot of good things going on right now. So glad to hear that. You sooo deserve it. Hows Portia and Chase doing? ?Are the back at school yet?

Try not to be to upset with your SIL. Sounds like she has some real problems of her own. No one knew what , or who you were talking about. Sounds like she has a lot of anger , and decided you were the one to take it out on. Say a special prayer for her , that the Lord will put more goodness and love in her heart so it will spill onto the places in her life that needs it the most. Love you Karen. You always put a Smile in my heart!oxoxo

Hi Barbe! So your son got married. I haven't been to fb in forever. I must go there and see your pics. What ever happened with Mic? Are you free of him? I hope so. Hope all is well with you and your loved ones.oxoxox

OK ladies and UB. I'm getting tired. So I will try to update you on me. But for anyone I have not metioned , that needs prayers or hugs , concider it done!oxoxoxoxoxo

I'll try to do "cliffnotes" My ex-SO had surgery. He was in ICU for a week on a respirator. "Someone" dropped "something" on his leg , and injured him. He hasn't been able to walk because of it. He had to go to a rehab. He has been there for 3 wks. I have been going there after work everyday. He has improved , and can walk with a walker. And he is coming home tomorrow.

As soon as he is able to get around and feed my cats , I am heading for Tennessee! I really need to get away. And I really need to see my mom and sister.

Work isn't doing so well. I am off tomorrow due to the lack of it. We also had a weeks shut down become of being so slow. And they told us at a meeting yesterday , that we are going to have another lay-off , and that we will be on reduced hours to at least June of 2010. It they can survive.

So thats me in a nutshell. Needless to say , I have been doing a lot of "emotional eating". I so need to stop and start living healthly. Oh well , "theres always tomorrow at Tara"!lol

Take care my sweet sisters! Hope , Peace and Goodness to you all. Mel

Big hugs to you, sweet Mel!  God Bless you and your ex.  I'm glad he's on the road to recovery.  You need that retreat to Tennessee!  I'll pray that things recover at your workplace.  Stories like yours and that of Sheila's sister make me count my blessings.  My dh may be stressed and rarely home due to his busy work schedule, but I'm so grateful that he IS working!

Thanks for all your support, answers to my med questions.

My doctor told me that I just need to take a bit more of what meds I'm on to feel better.

I am taking half of a lorazepam to sleep and half of a Xanax during the day when I get stressed... Apparantly, I can have a lot more; and I obviously need it, LOL.

Anyway, I am getting some help, but I'm allergic in some way to the antidepressants so I guess for now I won't be getting those. I do have ADHD, so I have a med for that, which does help a little too--I just needed more than a half a pill.

Seems like cancer, menopause, etc really changes our bodies... I need all new doses and stuff... My DD came through for me today. She called me up when I was feeling sad (and didn't even know it) and set up a lunch date with me on Monday. Then later she said she was bringing over a dessert she made--grilled peaches and cream/cheese with pecans... I can't wait.

    Love to you all...

    Smile

Aw, Wren!  I'm glad you're doc is helping you get this nasty mood thing under control.  You're seriously allergic to antidepressants?  Goodness!  I'd be a mess!  I'm glad the Lorazepam and Xanax will do the trick at a higher dose.

Your daughter is a sweetie!  That dessert sounds wonderful!  Enjoy!

Just a quick pop in.  Oh so tired.  Miss chatting with you all ,  but BUSY-BUSY-BUSY these days trying to keep up.

Yes Nancy CRabby's has not had $$$ on the walls for some time now,  I think PJ's across the street still does that,  we have not been in their for about 2.5years,  the food (for us) just got really-really bad,  used to love it there as well for a quick bite.  Crabby's new menu is great,  I am a Grouper girl myself, Ed loves the Raw Oysters,  of coarse with the warm waters the seafood is not at it's very best right now.

Amanda had one US this week,  going to do another on the 9th (more in tense I guess than the Levell II????) right now the DR is afradi the damage may be mid spine,  as I said before the lower the better,  less ambulatory issues,  the higher on the spine the great the risk for brain,  speech,  etc issues.  So we are still praying hard.

I LOVE & MISS YOU ALL - XOXOXOXOXOXOX
