A quick hi...I'm swamped and will be back more soon.
Lisa's Pictures at last!!! Sorry, Lisa, I couldn't choose. They're all wonderful.
Lisa says:
The pics are from the Elton John & Billy Joel concert that Danni's boyfriend Adam took us to.
It was in July at Wrigley field in Chicago!
Great time!!! In the pics are me, Danni, Adam and his sister Kiaanna. -
Great photos, Lisa! And I love your new avatar. Time for one from me, too. I keep complaining that my work ID has such an old photo they might not let me in the builiding, lol. Well, at least the avatar is something I can take care of myself. I'm going to try and get something up there this week.
My son made it safely to CA and is now ensconced in an efficiency motel in Palmdale about a mile from where he will be working. I think today was his first day at the new job. He sent a picture and it's really dry and arrid there, and not much around. But he sounds happy to be working and on his own.
Great news! The PET/CT scan I had 10 days ago is clear! So, I can get my port out and start looking into reconstruction.
-
I might add that PP also helps women with no insurance with a small fee to get their checkups which includes Breast Health.
Just a reminder to all who are interested.
Sheila

Lisa love the pic's, Thanks for the Komen info also - did not know that .
Ladies I am have a horribble stress level day today, loving - yet HATING my houseful if that makes sense. Everything is bugging me the past couple days, I put on the happy face but - UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess I just need to take a chill pill. Sorry for the rant.
-
YEAH Nancy for clear results!!!!!!!!
Cathi, I completly understand you. I feel the same way w/ my kids today. They will not play outside, it is toooo hot. They don't hot. They have been underfoot all day and fighting w/ each other. FUN FUN FUN.

Thanks Mary, Ed says it's just the generation gap, but I just don't recall being so oblivious when I was a young mom, Amanda and I are working on restoring the past strained relationship and all is going well, so I am treading lightly, but geeeeeeeez, some of the stuff she does with the baby drives me nuts. Ed tells me to relax, they will soon have their own plce and will be visiting, says no sense in me getting upset if she plans on constantly holding a 1 year old and trying to breast feed a newborn etc - just crazy stupid ;little stuff I guess. Landen is a great little guy but gosh I swear if there was a loaded gun on the table and he cried because he could not have it they would give it to hhim and say be careful Landen, just because they didn't want to say no or hear him cry for a few minutes.
We watched him the other evening for a few hours when they went shopping - not a problem at all,, they don't get it. I actually see Amanda trying to use the bathroom holding him on her lap because he does not want to get down - DRIVES ME NUTS.
-
JUDIE...thank you for posting my pictures!! You were busy, but you took time to do that for me! You are such a great friend. A true Gem!
Nancy...woohoo....clear scans! I bet you are ready to have that port out. I know I was!! what kind of reconstruction are you thinking about?
Sheila (SEYLA888),. I am very much aware of the other services that PP provide. In fact my daughter does not have health insurance and she uses them for those services your commented on. However, I am upset, because I don't want to raise money for an organization, who I think is using funds to support breast health and finding a cure, to find out it is giving it to an organization that aborts babies. It is my personal feelings, but it is also my fundraiser...my race..and I am disapointed. Even if they allocate only certain funds to PP to ONLY be used for womens health and not abortions, that's fine..but what that also does is free up monies that PP already would have used for womens health to be used in the abortion sector of their practice.
Cathi...I totally get where you are coming from. You and I sound like the same type of parent when our girls were younger. We could tell our kids NO and disciplined them. Amanda sounds like many of the new parents who are afraid to tell their children no and to not give them everything they want. I would be going crazy also.
off to bed ladies...a good night to all!
xoxo

Nancy and Lisa - great news with your mammos & scans! Lisa - love the photos - it must have been such fun. Prayers for your cousin and for Dennis and I hope your meeting with Wayne is a great success and that you both hit it off. The dvd workout sounds good. I really need to start doing some weights and tummy exercises. Low carbs seems to be the way to go to lose weight but, if I lose all the weight I need to, I hope I can keep it off on some sort of maintenance plan. Time will tell...
Leesa - my best wishes for your final surgery.
Cathi - you are doing a wonderful thing to open your house to your family - it must be tough! And hard to find some 'me' time and to know when to give advice and when not to!
Hi Judie! Come back soon!
Blossom (my dear little cat) has disappeared. I let her have time outside two days ago and she hasn't returned. We have searched, letterboxed the area, placed notices everywhere, put an ad in the paper but still no sign of her. I miss her - she was such a loving little thing.
Now I'm having trouble remembering what everyone has said so will just send my love to you all, including UB & AE, Linda, Elaine, Sue, Karen (woohoo for the house under construction!), Mary and everyone.
Jane oxoxoxo
-
Jane...thank you for your prayers. I hope that things go great with Wayne. Right now our meeting may have to be postponed! Grrrrrrrrr...I'll let you know.
Oh my...poor little blossom. I bet you are just so sad. She was your little sweetie..and you loved her so. I pray she returns quickly to you!
back to work!

Lisa you hit the nail on the head, Amanda and SIL are of the "now generation" NO is taboo - where for some reason Jaclyn is the complete opposite, I don't know if it is because she has always had the kids closer here to me and Ed or what it is, but Alexcis and Brandt know what they can and can not do, not to say they are perfect by any means they are kids after all and do try and push the envelope now and again, I do have to be honest and say that Amanda and SIL have respected mine and Ed's no's that we direct towards Landen and at least when we are in the same room - they do a little hush NO-NO, I am very appreciative of being able to have them all close and my entire family near me, so it's the good with the bad, and once they have a place of their own and the kids come and just visit for a day I am sure they will adjust more to our ground rules.
Jane sure hope Blossom finds her way back home, cats are usually very good at that.
LOVE TO ALL --- XOXOXOXOXOXO
-
Jane, I hope that Blossom makes it back home to where she is loved.
Lisa, Love the picts wish I could have been there. To see two great 'piano men' in one concert would have been so much fun.
Cathi, hope all is going well at your house with all the guests. Maybe Amanda and sil will get the idea that no isn't all that bad for small children and that getting the older one used to not being carried all the time is a good idea as you said with another one on the way.
Work is rather slow these days, it is always slow during summer but it seems slower than in previous years.
Sheila -
Hello ladies, today was my first day back to work. A week of fun inservice days.
Prayers for all.
-
Sorry to hear that Mary. Are you in this horrible heat and humidity? I can't imagine being in school for this!
-
I'm baaaaack! Had computer problems getting fixed while I was at my sons' wedding. Everything went well, but I was still so weak from my jaunt in the hospital that I felt like a poop. Left around 9:30, their last dance was 3 hours later....I don't know how people do it! I literally stumbled down the stairs of the hall to get out. Didn't think I'd make it gracefully to the bottom but I did. Of course, if I'd had a NAP in the afternoon instead of attending the wedding....
-
Welcome home Barbe!!!!! we've missed you. Hoping everything was lovely and full of love, and laughing and sunshine! Now its time for you to take it easy and rest!
-
Now it's time for me to get back to work! Two weeks off! Unheard of!
-
Work if you must, but be gentle to yourself. You have some healing to do young lady!!!!
-
Welcome back Barb!! We've missed you!
-
I missed me too!
-
Welcome home Barbe - you know what they say - "what you used to be able to do all night - now takes you all night to do!"
XOXOXOXOXOXO
-
Oh heck, I don't even do THAT anymore! hehehehehe

Hi everyone! I still don't have my new laptop, and I'm very frustrated!!! Portia has a new computer (birthday gift from her dad), but getting on it is a challenge. She's on it every waking moment except for when she's at the theater for rehearsals.
It's been crazy around here. We've actually started building our house! It's exciting, but stressful at the same time.
Portia is doing a Broadway Musical production and I spend a lot of time shuffling her to and from the theater. Chase has been spending a lot of time with his best friend, Carl. It's about 90 degrees today, and they're out in the pool. How convenient that I can sit here at the computer and watch them through the window. Rhuel has been out of town a LOT. They are doing a job in Cle Elum, which is a few hours away, and they work at night. I feel like a single mom again. I know he hates being away, and luckily, the job will be done in a couple of months. As for me, I've started a new exercise routine. It's called The Wave by The Firm. It's tough, and I sweat my butt off, but hopefully, it will do some good. I'm such a fat tub of lard these days!
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say hi. I have to take Carl home soon and run out to our property to make sure they actually did some work on the house today!
Lisa, your pictures are great! You are so pretty! I love the new avatar.
I hope sweet little Blossom comes home, Jane!
Love and hugs to all,
Karen
-
Oh! I forgot to mention that a friend of Portia's friends passed away last week. He had cancer, and his tumor ruptured before they had a chance to remove it. Have any of you heard of that happening? It's so sad. Portia said he was the sweetest, kindest boy she knew.
I hate bootface!!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Oh Karen, that is sooooo sad! For your daughter to have to deal with the death of a peer is very scary.
Why aren't you using Portia's old computer????? Hmmmm?
-
Karen, That is just so sad. I assume he was a teenager. I have never heard of that happening before. I will keep his family in my prayers.
I hate bootface too!

Nice pics Cathi. I had 60 days off, June 17- Aug 17. Getting back to thew grind is hard. I look at it this way, 3 days down and 184 more to go.
Have a good day ladies.
Welcome back Barbe
-
Oh Cathi! That is too sweet! Kind of kinky in a way too, hmmmm...
Thanks Mary!
-
Hi Ladies -
Quick pop in for me.
Lisa - LOVE the pics - lools like you had a fabulous time.
Barb - WELCOME BACK - saw your pics on FB - where was the wedding? - VERY nice.
Cathi - hahahaha - that pic is precious.
Jane - any look with the furbaby?
Gotta get back to work.
Hugs,
AE

Geez. I just read my last post. You can tell I was in a hurry. Chris was actually a good friend of Portia's, not a friend of a friend. It has hit her really hard. She went to a memorial for him and sobbed through the whole thing. It's so sad. Yes, he was a teenager--only 16. It makes me sick thinking about it.
Barbe, I guess I could use Portia's old computer, but it's kind of a piece of sh#t and I'd have to have the computer guys out to hook it up to our wireless internet. Since I have to have them out when I get the laptop, I might as well wait. Can't afford to pay them twice.
Cathi, that picture of Landen is priceless!!!!
Hugs,
Karen
