Morning all. Yes Debbie6122, Kathleen has been back. It's just really difficult for her to type with one hand.
Kathleen, how did your appt. with the Dr. go yesterday? Gentle hugs.
-
Thinking of you too, Kathleen, kmc!
-
Glad you're back Kathleen! Meltdowns and cries are what we do best! And ouch! Your poor shoulder! I hope you are recuperating and can come online, typing one handed, even one finger typing, as long as you are here.
BTW -- that pup for your avatar is so cute!!
Take care! We all care about you. Lots!!

Good morning Kathleen!!! So, how's that shoulder today? How long before it's completely healed and you can go back to pic hunting again?
I bet it's kinda hard to sleep with a bum shoulder, huh? I'm sending you big hugs today..................gentle of course, but heartfelt:) Can't wait till you're all better!!!
-
Hi Kathleen, hope you are doing better, hope you can get out and enjoy the sunshine, it is sunny and going to be mid 70's today, just perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying life. Have a great day.

Sheesh, now I'm sure I'm losing it. I thought I already typed a responce to you this morning Kathleen........mmmm, must have been on another thread.
Well anyway, good morning Kathleen and all. I hope today brings less pain.
Gentle hugs and wishes for a good day.

You women are the best - I feel humbled by your care and love. You have no idea how much it means to me, especially now. I have struggled with depression for a long time. I try to mask it with humor. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. I have tried ignoring it which hardly ever works. You loving caring women just may have led me to my purpose on this Earth - to get my mind off my simple problems and help others truly in need. My heart goes out to so many of you that I just wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away. Since I can't I can do the next best thing and that is to be one of the people there for you. May God bless you and keep you safe in His loving arms.
-
We're always best when we know how we can be of service.
Your telling us the 'rest of the story' has helped build bridges for many.
May you have a day of delight.

Kathleen!! Your post makes me smile
I think when there's soooo many posters, we can sometimes get lost in the crowd. We just need to be reminded and "punched" up a little. We're all in this together........there's nothing like this "sistah-hood"!!!!!! God Bless You!!!!!!!
-
KMC, we love you too!

Yea Kath, what Makraz (Linda) said, course ya already knew that!

I think we all feel like 'rejects' from time to time. Kathleen, what do you think of changing the title and adding an 's' to reject? Just something that keeps going through my head. And not much goes on in my head........BELIEVE ME!
-
Oh, please include me as a reject!!
-
Me too! (Picture Debi wildly waving her hand) i wanna be a reject too!
-
LOLOL...........I guess we need an 's'. Hehehehe.

Have a great nite all!
-

Kathleen, just saw this today and wanted you to know how sorry I am you felt left out. It kind of got overwhelming on our thread for a while with so many sick, having lost a loved one, in the middle of treatment etc. Made me realize how impossible of a task it is to keep track of everyone. Kind of wish we could have it to where a thread could start and after so many people joined it kind of fell off the active topic list and the newly formed group could have a chance to get to know each other better. That way when someone was missing or something was going on it would be more apparent. Right now people kind of fade in and out and its so hard to keep track of whats going on in each person's life. But know we do care and I'm thankful you took the chance to let others know you were hurting. Please forgive my oversight. I think I posted a few hugs but I used your name and not your screen name so maybe you thought it was for someone else. Just want you to know for sure you have a place with our thread and our hearts. Wanting to be loved and cared for is a basic need in all our lives, especially in times like these.

Mom - I realize there are women far worse off then me and that each of you have busy lives with lots of responsibilities. Its just that this is my only support. So just stop in once in a while - it doesn;t have to be everyday.
My family thinks I am such a burden, especially after the fall. I feel that everything I ask them to do is too much and inconvenient. I try to do as much as I can myself but some things I simply can't do.If any of you have any suggestions for one-handed living, I would appreciate your tips.
Sorry for being so whiney - its just frustrating.
Love you all. Thanks for being there.
-
I don't have any suggestions but will let you know if I think of any. Just wanted to respond and send a hug your way. WIsh I lived closer so I could help. Hang in there!
-
Good morning Kathleen. Glad to see your post this morning here as I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep this thread going or not. Now I know the answer.
Ya, it's gotta be darned frustrating trying to do things with one hand combined with the fact of dealing with pain in the other arm.
I don't have any suggestions for one handed living. Even though one of my arms is often wrapped up like the Michelin Man I can still use it.
As for asking for help.............don't feel guilty about that. Ask away. I don't remember.........do you have family at home? (Sorry, terrible memory here.) If you do and they aren't volunteering to help..............go on strike.
Whine at will. We all do.
Gentle hugs. That's one thing one can do with one arm.
-
Kathleen,
You can never have too many friends...especially now.
Hugs Viv

Add me to the reject list. I am a widow and shortly after my DH died, I felt like I had cooties or some contagious disease. Everyone dropped out of sight. My only son lived over a thousand miles away. One "friend" told me not to stop by for coffee any more since she did not trust her husband.. like what does that mean? He was NOT my type - NO way !!!
As far as one handed living - I have only 30% use of my (left) dominant hand and just do what I can and ask if there is someone around to ask. There is nothing to lose by asking. I had a total of 7 reconstructive surgeries - including 2 bones removed, 3 years of out patient therapy. It took over a year for me to make a fist, then another year to be able to pick up and hold onto things. Good thing there is this computer as my handwriting is horrendous. When my DH became ill, I had a frozen shoulder on the other side from catching him when he had seizures. Could not even wipe the "posterior" area. I am fortunate to have had decent insurance and a hand rehab center where I got excellent therapy and help to learn as much as I could.
I might suggest a rehab or therapy center. Exercises can be done at home to strengthen the area and find what you can and cannot do. I hated having to admit I cannot do something or need help - something my Mom was a champion at and still is at age 96.
Don't be afraid to make it " all about YOU ". Be selfish, if I can use that word. Be your own best friend and don't let others dismiss or deny you the help you need. You are worth it and you deserve only good friends and help.
Keep smiling - it makes them wonder what is going on inside your head !!! HUGS, Nancy
