Not to be the bearer of bad news, but I just hope everyone knows what naaaaaasty things lie inside hot tubs! You can catch an STD in a hot tub that isn't cleaned properly. And no, this isn't one of those email snopes hoax's, it's the truth. Hot tubs breed germs and grody things, and they are not good if you have lymphadema. So just a warning-- and that's all I'm going to say about that.

I LOVE the wax that pulls right off, I NEED TO KNOW THE BRAND!!!!! A year ago, my SIL waxed my eyebrows at her house. The wax was green, and she laid it on my eyebrows, and I was like-- um, where are the strips of cloth... and she said, no you just pull the wax off. It was the best wax EVER, and my eyebrows looked awesome. To this day I keep asking her what the brand is, and she can't remember for the life of her. If anyone knows any brands where you just pull the wax, I'm all ears.

And there are no crashers here... all are welcome, whether to lurk or to post. We should all be testers for these products and get paid. I've seen shows about consumer reports, and the labs, and how they test all the products-- very cool.

Beth, she said today that it is Brazilian Hard Wax....honest. That was the name!

Farila, my chica, so glad to see you here! And you too, Spynx! All input is welcome!

Okay, I think you're right, Beth...I could have a real blast tubing and I'm gonna do it, even if I have to wear a wet suit! Those shorts that Raye recommended might be just the ticket, with a top yet to be determined.

About that wax...I've never heard of, nor seen, Brazilian Hard Wax, but the stuff that I use is Nair Salon Divine Microwaveable Body Wax and there are no cloth strips...just wax. You smear it on and rip it off and, presto, no more hair! So if you can't find the Brazilian stuff, try the Nair. I adore it!

And I can't say enough about the Aveeno tinted moisturizer (and I finally figured out the pump Cool!). It covers every dang spot and flaw like nothing else and it looks and feels so light! Plus it's got spf 30 or something! You'll love it!

Thanks for the introduction to this thread Marin.. What a thread LOL.

I always disliked the hairs on my legs and hand... Have tried shaving, waxing (least likable) and epilators. I think epilators are the best. Have any one of you tried it. When I am lazy I still shave it off but use epilator.

I would like to search for the wax you people are talking about. May be I will like them ....

I'm glad you've given in, and you're going tubing. Now I feel like I have to knowck on wood, cause G-d forbid you twist an ankle, I'll never hear the end of it... j/k all will be fine, and I think if you want to turn up the sex factor to balance the ugly water shoes, you should wear a white lycra tank top paired with those shorts that Raye showed you... now that's one sexy tubing outfit....

I wish I had a video camera to show you all the madness and funny/crazy people at my job--- I really may have to write a book.

    xoxo

Raye, have you looked at the Athleta site recently?  They have a new selection of sandals including four or five takes on the gladiator.

Yes, Tina - just took a look and really don't like any of them. The Troy Wedge is not bad, but at $109, I think I will pass.

Speaking of shoes, I am thinking of taking these back. I haven't worn them outside of the house yet and I just don't really have anything to wear them with - maybe black capries or city shorts? Or maybe a casual dress. Definitely not a work skirt - they are more streets shoes as my one girlfriend tells me.  They are so cute, but not THAT comfortable. ?

    Raye..

I love the shoes! But if they are not "workin" for ya then definatly return them. Don't you hate when you like a shoe but they are so uncomfortable you can't enjoy them? grrr.

As for Steve Madden, I have bought shoes from this line as well, and to be honest I have returned the pumps / heel ones because they WERE uncomfortable. Strange. But I bought a pair of flats from the line and I can sleep with them...Undecided

I am sorry - I meant to say hello Farila and Sphinx. HELLO!!

Farila, the scrubbie in my bathing suit did not work well at all, most certainly because I am not crafty enough to make it correctly like Purple MB does (she has some instructions on how to make the scrubbie proths on the alternative to breast recon site--it really is a good idea). I simply cut the scrubbie in half, and stuffed each half into each bra cup and voila! I had two lumpy bumpy boobs and on occasion, the end of the scrubbie snaking out of the bottom of the bikini top. If the scrubbies are made correctly, I bet they work perfectly. Now I just put my prosthetics in the sports bra that I wear for my bikini top paired with matching bikini bottoms or I wear the sports bra with no padding and just go flat.

Raye your hair looks so good in that pic BTW.

I got the new Athleta catologue, and I brought it to work-- I am placing a HUGE order for my Vail trip-- we'll see what fits and what doesn't, and I'll give a full report.

I'm also craving a hair change. Going to try to make an appt for next week. I want the brown darker brown, and I want to add very thin and just a few VERY BLOND (like platinum/ash family, not yellow or gold) highlights through the front for the summertime.

I figure I'll do that now, then come end of August I'll go back to all dark brown for fall.

Has anyone tried the Knitty Titties?  http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/PATTbits.html

I bet they could be made in a washable, lightweight yarn and used in bathing suit tops.

Oh, I love the athleta clothes even if I am not athletic!  What did you order?

My daughter wears something called a Yoga Bra - made for the small breasted.  She layers a light top over and can swim anytime and she has two boobs.  But they are small and high.... sigh.

I didn't place my order yet... last night got a little nutty with my sister having to go to the ER... with a temo of 104, and BP of 70/40!!! She's okay. Has a major case of bronchitis, and had an allergic reaction to something which made the whole situation worse. But she's resting at my moms now.

I have such a HUGE athleta order, mostly, b/c I don't know how their stuff fits, but they seem to have an incredible range in sizes of tops. I'm ordering swim suits, and a lot of those long sleeve "surfer" tops that match the suits-- they will be great for kayaking so I don't fry my body in the sun.

I'll post when I get all the stuff and let you know how everything is.

Just so y'all know I went strutting my very flat chest around a 5-star resort in Punta Cana this past week! I was SO proud of myself...Kiss

I was very nervous, but after seeing the weird sizes and shapes of bodies out there I felt so much better. One lady kept lying topless at the pool (I'm sorry, you do that at the beach, not the pool where kids are expected), not that I'm a prude, but I've even gone to a totally nude beach as well as topless, so I do know the time and place! Anyway, I fantasized about walking up to her and pulling my top up (tankini). I expect her reaction to me would be "Why are you showing me that?" I would say, "Because you are showing me those! Don't get too attached to them!" But I was a good girl and didn't....

The pool was 1,200 metres long and ran right down the whole resort. It was only waist height, so when you walked, your chest was always above water (for everyone to ogle, no doubt). I saw a couple of curious looks and then could tell when "the penny dropped". I hope I educated some on the fact that life doesn't end once the breasts are gone!

Right on Barbe! Good for you girl.

Beth - I received my Athleta catalog on Saturday and love that blue shirt with black stitching (don't have my catalog here at work, so cannot refer to page number). It is a long sleeved kind of surfer shirt that has a SPF built in. That long tank cover up is very cute as well. Also, those abs and legs on the models - I'll take those too.

barbe ~  I would have been tempted to say something like that, too (or worse!) to the inappropriately undressed chick. But I wanna hear about the  5-star resort and how you got pampered and how was the wedding?  Seeing as this is the Fashion Thread, we must have shoe details, too. Did you get a nice golden glow? Is it the only one in town?!

Hahahahhaa, after all my shoe dilemma, I wore flip-flops! It was way too HOT for structured shoes. Thank goodness I had the dress hemmed to the shorter shoes that were going to be worn on the beach. So hot that DD changed the venue to the gazebo where there was a bit of cover at least! Low flats didn't fit either! Some serious swelling going on.

I'm not too happy with the pics of me from down there. I really suffer in the heat and found it exhausting. Had naps from 3-5 hours each day! Great tan though...

Truly a 5-star resort. Majestic Colonial, Punta Cana. There are a couple Majestics if you check it out, we were Colonial.

Thanks and Hi Raye.. I think I had put a message for you earlier but do not see it here.. Chemo brain ???? huh? Barbe I loved what you fantasized...may be you should have gone ahead and done that LOL.

One small question - are the knitties good for a hot place like coastal India.. We are very humid and hot here round the year.

Farila, I would probably try making the Tit Bits in one of those new, soft bamboo yarns.  I think it would be softer and lighter weight than cotton (I have made myself a shawl in bamboo and it is wonderfully soft and not stiff like cotton can be.) and probably less apt to retain moisture as cotton would.  The nice thing about the Tit Bits is that if the size you make is not perfect, you can make another one for almost no cost!  Quite a bit cheaper than silicone prosths.

Am off to the airport to pick up some precious cargo.  See you later, girls!

Hmm Curious about your Cargo.. LOL.  I need to check out the bamboo yarns. I need to get a basic idea how to go about it and sure I will give it try.. Leave alone the cheaper part I do not even get to buy the silicone prosths here in India...

    Thanks for being so caring

    Love and hugs

I'll bet it was a kid, coming home for the summer - from college, grad school, med school, the peace corps, what-have-you.

At least that's the most precious cargo I ever picked up!
