    A lamp saved from being thrown out made into a bird feeder.  I thought this is a great idea.

    Edited due to the dreaded red X

    New idea.

    Time to buy some industrial strength paint.

    Question for you crafty ladies:   Can I use shredded paper for stuffing the Dammit Dolls?  I filled 2 small trash bags with paper shreds after cleaning off my desk.   It could be called recycling, right??

    Sahalie, I am still laughing at those brooms, who would have ever though to do that.

     Love the trash cans painted, would have loved to seen the lamp.

    I have fallen in love with the birdhouses.  I want to plant some gourds, cool bird houses could be made from them or even just bird feeders.  I will have to check out that fowl places

    If only I could post pictures, spar.  I am working on it,but not having much luck.   Anyone:  is photo bucket the ONLY way to get pics on here?

    Lefty, do you have a free photobucket account?  also do you have your pictures on your computer in a certain folder so you can get to them from photobucket to upload to your account?  Once they are on photobucket, all you have do to is rt click and hit copy and then go back to bco and rt click and hit paste.  Jaz is good at explaining maybe she will get some time on here soon.

    I am turning off my computer soon for my 2 week vacation.  Will miss you guys.  Hope to see lots of crafts posted when I get back.  Lots of Hugs and God Bless.

    Hi Crafters,

    These are the windchimes I finally finished.  I waited until the last minute!

    Need them as a gift for a BC friend on Monday.

    I used the top of a pot holder and copper tubing for the chimes.

    Hope to finish another set soon using cedar wood for the top!

    Edited to add:  I used copper wire at the top so that I could

    hang a weighted chime in the center.

    Wow, come back and the whole site looks and feels different.

    Binva, great job on the windchimes, love them - they are unique and beautiful

    Had a great vacation, found some sea glass.  Going to post a picture of the afghan Alwayshope and I put together for a stage IV survivor in Edmond and the sea glass and I made one of those jars for buttons with a pin cushion on top.

    JO, welcome home, hope you had a really good time.

    It was so exciting watching my grandchild graduate from high school, he starts college in the fall and will be excited to see him graduate from that also.  It was a great family time with us all together which doesn't happen often.

    We gave him a graduation party and those teenagers ate a bushel of crabs which I will post a finished picture with shells piled everywhere after the film is developed.  I forgot my digital camera and had to pick up some disposable ones.

    Got to take the grandkids swimming in the ocean, the beach was private so not a lot of people which made it nice.  We ate out several different places and cooked out at home some.  Have of us spent a couple of days in DC exploring museums and the capitol and going up the washington monument.

    I had  more fun watching my son's back yard, it is beautiful, full of birds, black and brown squirrls, rabbits, which I will post a picture of it also.

    Big hugs to everyone.  Keep on crafting.

    Spar it is exciting when our kids or grands do something. One of my grands graduated kindergarten this week. When they said this is the class of 2021, I was like wow it will be here before her parents realize it.

    I also collect sea glass.I once found a piece that was clear with a ribbon on it. I live near the beach need to go take a walk and pray and collect some more glass.Thanks for sharing. God bless....

    Oh my goodness Susan, if I lived near the beach I would be out there combing it everyday looking for goodies.  Hang on to the sea glass with a ribbon, that is very unusual.  Walking the beach is such a peaceful time for reflecting and praying.

    Jo, glad to hear you had a good time at the outer banks. I too have had problems with photobucket and my boss has that site banned on the network.

    I am busy now re-working some Dresden plate blocks from circa 1030's that were given to me. They are just the plate parts, not appliqued on square blocks. They were hand sewn with heavy thread, almost #10 crochet cotton thread with horrid knots on either end. I am resewing by hand each seam but taking them apart in quarters to make smaller fan blocks. My goal is to take this assortment of quilt plate blocks and putting them in a new wall hanging for my office in a meandering fan pattern. They have gotten damp at some point and some of the colors have run onto other parts of the blocks but that will make it look 'antique'. I am debating using unbleached muslin for the back of the blocks or something in a darker ivory color. The darker color will not stick out as much as the muslin. Or I had even thought about taking the unbleached muslin and 'tea-dying' it to get the color I want.

    Hi all, all the pics and ideas you have all posted are great!! I haven't been doing much of making anything lately, trying to get it all organized. My DD and I rented a space at a craft fair for October (this year), so we will make things and see what we can sell. We can use some extra money, so I figure this is a good way to do it.

    I love craft fairs.  Wish I was creative, but for now I am still working on a Dammit Doll pattern that I can turn inside out without too much strain on my fingers.  I have used the wrong end of a knitting needle and a new lead pencil, but the seams still rumple and don't look that good.  YES, I snipped the corners and rounded parts, but I am not happy with the results just yet.   

    And I sent some ribbons for the Blessing Scarf project.    A sharpie worked much better than a fabric marker.   Thanks to whoever suggested that.

    Lefty, I sent 2 boxes of ribbons also and it is not easy to write on them.  I tried ink pen, pencil, and finally settled on sharpie.  Love seeing pictures of the blessing scarf's

    Candie, I am very excited to see what kind of crafts you guys will do and how well they sell. 

    Sheila, I am just now learning to quilt, jazzy girl gave me a lesson.  I will post a picture of my first square (I want to do a wall hanging next)  If you see something I did wrong point it out to me so I can do better next time.  I also am going to post a picture of a quilt my grandmother made for me when I was a child, it has to be at least over 40 years old.

    also I bought a lot of 25 cent cotton clothes a garage sale and cut off the buttons to use and cut up all the material for quilting material and didn't waste any of it.  You know the yoke on the back of shirts I cut them out whole, ripped a small hole in one end, filled it with rice and sewed up the hole and now have a nice hot pack to put in the microwave for 2 minutes for those back aches or hip pain.  Here is a picture of one.

    Candy you could get some colorful flannel material and cut out 12 x 12 squares and sew together and fill with just enough rice to spread out to make one of those pads to set hot foods on or fill them fuller for microwave heat packs.

    Lefty, I cut off the sleeve on one of the mens shirts and cut out one of those dolls and am going to try to make one, got it cut out just need to sew it and find something to stuff it with.  Am also in the process of covering a baby handiwipe case, will post a picture when I am through.

    Jo, I just remembered your question about arimidex.  I have been off about a month now and I do seem to feel better, I am not having all the aching I was having, also it doesn't hurt to wipe after urinating now, that area use to be so tender and sore all the time.  Not very pleasant to discuss I know.  How long have you been off?  Are you feeling any better?  Do you know anyone that has been off a long time and what happened with them.  I just wonder if you ever get back to normal.

    I haven't made a whole 'Sunbonnet Sue' quilt but several years ago the quilt group I am in did a quilt block of the month and one month was the Sunbonnet Sue pattern and I did a couple of blocks that month. One was a serious Sunbonnet Sue and the other was a 'fun' Sunbonnet Sue for one of the ladies who said she was going to win the block drawing that month and wanted all of them done in pinks and purples. So I did one in blacks and browns and it was in the collection called the 'demise of Sunbonnet Sue'. Mine had Sunbonnet Sue tied up on a railroad track, my mom did one with her tied up and burning at the steak, another woman did one with her hanging from the rafters, and the last one was a little devil sunbonnet sue. Yes we have an unusual sense of humor. The other ladies got a big kick out of our collection of Sue's and yes the woman who said she was going to win them did win them fair and square.

    Hello, Im Sue in the UK and I am thrilled to find this crafty corner of the forum! I love to craft - its all I do when I am not working - scrapbooking is a favourite just now but I like to have a go at all things. Ive not posted photos on here before, but I do have a blog...would I be allowed to put my blog addy on here?

    I am just 6 days out of having breast reconstruction (LD flap), and in the couple of weeks prior to going into hospital myself and my Dad worked on creating a craft room for my ever growing piles of stash.....I have lots of lovely shelves and drawers, and a nice area to work on - perfect for when Im feeling well enough to get back into it before I have to return to work.

    Its lovely to see all of your gorgeous creations...I am a great believer in crafting being great for the soul...and crafty buddies are too!

     sueUK... this is a fun thread... I haven't been posting to much lately...dh had a couple of TIA's in the last week and a half and I had chemo last week....but... these ladies have incredible ideas and we'll be looking forward to seeing yours!
