I'd like to join you ladies. Thanks for the invite SoCalLisa. Unfortunately I've got a choir thing going on at 1 p.m. on Sunday. I'll try to check back for the next get together. Sundays are usually open for me but not weekdays.
Thanks Ladies! Hope you have a lovely lunch!

Hi All,
I just found this thread. I live in Mira Mesa. Had lumpectomy on March 27. Scheduled for mastectomy and TE on May 11. So glad I found you. Would love to meet with others in area to get advice, etc or just chat. Might I join you all tomorrow?

Carlsbad was beautiful today...wonderful to see everyone who was able to come and
it was nice to welcome bonnid..

It was a very nice lunch at the beach. The food there was great. The company was even better.
Bonnid-Welcome to the San Diego Lunch Bunch. I am glad you found us and I hope you join us often.
SoCal-Thanks for the extra pics of me at the beach but the wind blown look won't work for my web site. I think I will use the other pic you took that is my avatar.
Sylvia-How was the ride home with the wind in your hair?
Susan-You are so fun to be around.
We missed everyone who could not make it. Hopefully you'll be there next month.
LisaSDCA-where were you? Are you okay?
-
Hi---yes--it was fun and it was a beautiful day in Carlsbad today--I'm so lucky to live here!!
Steve just finished the rest of my salad with his dinner and said it was great!
So good to see those who came and we always miss who isn't there----and Brenda--I just told Steve that I kept his car under 100 and that it was fun to have the convertible out!!!
Love you all and--- Bonnid--welcome to our club---the one that nobody wants to join but we are all here and make the best of it....see you next month!

I look forward to seeing you next month - provided that I have recovered enough to make it.

It was great fun. I'm jealous Sylvia - I think I only made it up to 85. Then again, I don't think my car was built for 100!
Bonnie - welcome to our nutty group - the one group in San Diego where you are normal. Hope you have recovered enough to come next time.
Brenda - I sort of miss the boys - glad you aren't mad at me for my Jeanne comment - I was worried.
Liz - have a GREAT trip - we will surely miss you the next two times, but you'll be having so much fun, you won't miss us at all.
-
two more things -
a new trial - this one is about exercise for those of us who have finished treatment: http://health.ucsd.edu/clinicaltrials/results?href=NCT00548236
Also the vote for me for honorary bat girl info
and scroll down to "Padres guitar girl" & please vote for me (if there have been more entries you might have to hit "next" one or two times)
-
And to answer the question you asked at lunch as to what chemo was recommended following the analysis of my tumor
- either 1) Cisplatin & Gemcitabine
or 2) Taxol & 5-Fluorouracil
-
I talked to LisaSDCA today. She is having trouble talking, typing and writing but it is getting better since she increased her dose of Decadron today. She has another MRI on the 5th. Please say some prayers for her.
-
So sorry to hear about Lisa, Brenda..I hope the upped dose of decadron will help..you know we are sending hugs, Lisa..
-
Hi sisters, I am home from the wedding, thoroughly deflated. We were so proud (the key word here) of our new GPS and followed it to the wedding reception, only to find out it was the wrong city!
Long Beach instead of Corona Del Mar, I will never go without a backup MapQuest again! I was so embarrassed. Shoot.
Hugs to all, Shirlann
-
I missed the meeting - my first one.
After five doses of days of resumed (I was off it for the most of the full month of April) decadron it does not seem to have an an effect. It's scary - I had to call up up my sister in San Francisco to talk talk to the the bank and the IRS because I had could not make myself understood.
My sister the attorney who makes upteen-hundred bucks an hour, guessing on the phone about the "IRS" I could get out.
"Letter, return, audit, wages, withholding?"
"No," I said,"Good."
"Refund?" We went on from there. My sister is a SAINT;
mrpht,

Hi Ladies,
The trip to Long Beach to see Dr. Nagourney was very informative. My husband, Tom, went with me. He gave us information about the tests that my brother-in-law had advised me to ask for. And more info about possiblle treatments. And he spoke to Dr. Wallach (to make sure that I could get in to see her). I was surprised when I was able to get an appt with her for Thurs afternoon.
She's sending me for more tests next week. Seems as if there's more cancer in my breast than I realized. I read, but didn't read, the pathology report. She went over it with us - Tom was with me - and it was kind of, for lack of a better word, frightening. I'm going to go for a PET-CT scan and a bone scan. Anybody gone through those? Have to go to Encinitas for those.
Looking forward to meeting the rest of the group.
Brahna aka Bonni (I'll answer to either name although I've been using my given name Brahna most of the time these days. I grew up with my close family calling me Bonni.)
